The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are coming to New York — and they’re bringing some serious green with them.
The action flick sequel, “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2,” will begin filming next month in New York City and Buffalo, which officials estimate will result in $70 million in spending.
The bulk of that money — $63 million — will be spent in the Big Apple, according to Paramount.

didn't the first one flop?

far from a bomb
in all honesty I get why they're making a sequel, it's a dumb superhero flick. However I wouldn't spend so much to actually shoot in NY. Canada is so much cheaper to fake locationshots
I really like the first movie! im excited for this one too
ReplyDeleteNope! I hope this one is better because they got bebop and rockstedy so that's going too be ok.
ReplyDeleteI live in NYC and get pissed at many shows who use NYC as a backdrop but never film there *Cough Castle Cough:* lol
ReplyDeletewell, it's an art to fake a location.
ReplyDeletewelp, it's pretty hard to shoot there though, from what I heard closing down several areas for principal photography slows down traffic severely.
And it's not like New York would be that hard to fake...pretty much every major town in the US has at least three districts with similar architecture
And keep in mind how much shooting in New York costs, Gossip Girl swallowed most of the CWs budget because Dawn Ostroff was hellbent to give her darling the best location available -,-
Isn't CW small network like sprint haha.
ReplyDeleteMeh... I know did okay in the box office, but I somehow doubt the second one will do as well...
