Loved M:I4 definitely gave the franchise the air it needed to live on for ages.
I'll be honest here: I wouldn`t mind Cruise, Patton, Pegg and Renner doing these movies until they hit their 70s. There're franchises that are empty (creative-wise) but M:I has the potential to make a story out of pretty much everything. Since it's based on a TV show that's obvious but yeah...here's to Mission: Impossible 83
LoL,i can't freaking wait! So many people criticize Cruise in whatever movie he is in but he does wonders for this franchise. Oh course the writing and stunts ( that Cruise doesn't do himself) have a little something to do with it!
Well at first I thought that Bad Robot was only in a co-producing role this time around (meaning no former BR writers, director choosing, or story influence/input), However, I may be wrong at least on the last thing (story influence/input), as I notice that The Syndicate is the enemy again!!! And the the idea of being an "anti-IMF" is a nice juxtaposition with the fact that they framed Hunt/IMF with the Kremlin Bombing so that they had to operate rogue or unofficially ('Ghost Protocol'), but what would be really amazing, is if they connected this back to MI:III and bring back The Rabbit's Foot...(<---I know, wishful thinking)
Setting all that garbage of mine aside, the film looks fun and I'm looking forward to seeing it! XD
Could be!!! And if they could [continue to] get Bad Robot behind it, I would be there. Interestingly Bad Robot re-referenced them or "spoofed" them in Almost Human with The Insydacate!!!!
I agree. I think this is where Cruise is the best (well next to a couple of one-shots like Top Gun or Rain Man at least), but he's exceptional in this Franchise!!!
God I do miss Jonathan Rhys Meyers and his Italian smirk ;). Why do they keep changing additional cast? I wanted at least see some of them stick around! Maggie Q too.
Cruise has a troubled personal live which puts people off and I can understand that but he has been in some of my favourite action and sci-fi films and with good scripts he is fun to watch.
Great seeing more of Benji and hopefully more Brandt as well, they made the last movie for me, sad Paula Patton isn't back, maybe she can return for the next film if they do one.
I know people fawn over Paula Patton in the last one, but IMO she was just OK. The best addition in GP was Jeremy by far!
However for me MI3 had by far the best supporting cast, and I was hoping they would all make a return. I take consolation that they've kept Simon Pegg in the franchise at least....
God I love these movies!!!! No matter what they're always fun!
And I don't care how crazy TC might be. I've never heard anyone say anything bad about him as a person or as a professional, and he is full of on screen charisma, and he is an amazing actor! And that's all that matters!
Ving Rhames returns again too, so that's something. But I'm actually amazed that we will continue on with The Syndacate as the villain! But I agree, even though I would of liked to see Jane Carter again, I do think Brandt is a better character to continue on with, both in terms of JR acting ability, but also because that relationship was built on a lie...
I think by using a page from Alias' Pilot was a great way to transition the series into a franchise that was just ok, into something really fun and a little more meaningful. I thought the third one was great jumping off point that might just keep on giving...
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Dang...MI:5 Looks AWESOME!!! :D
ReplyDeleteNice, I loved MI4 it really surprised me by how much fun it was, I hope Rogue Nation can be as good.
ReplyDeleteI loved the last one, this one looks great too. I really love the cast, especially Jeremy Renner and Simon Pegg.
ReplyDeleteYes...bring the old live action stuntsback. The final plane is SICK.
ReplyDeleteBring it!! I'm so ready!
ReplyDeleteThis looks cool. I haven't seen a MI movie before. I tried to watch the first one on Netflix. I got twenty minutes into it. I'll finish it one day.
ReplyDeleteThe IMF team is going against The Syndicate!
ReplyDeleteYess!

Calling it now: In a couple of years, there will be a TV show called "The Syndicate".
ReplyDeleteDid you see the red title? i think Luke Mitchell was here lol
ReplyDeleteI cannot freaking wait for this!!!!!!!!!!

I suggest starting with MI:III ;)

ReplyDeleteMI-5 looks awesome.
ReplyDeletegonna be yellling "OMG" all the way when the tom cruise hanging in the aeroplane scene comes
How the heck does he stay on the side of that plane?
ReplyDeleteOMG, that plane scene. LOL This will be so badass.

I think you're letting your JJ bias get the best of you.
ReplyDeleteHahaha! I know, it's a disease! :p
ReplyDeleteBut I am glad that VR seems to have a bigger part again and that at least some of the characters reoccur.
Omg that new trailer is awesome!
ReplyDeleteSo much fun! So SO much fun!!!!
ReplyDeleteOh hell yeah we're in for a ride!!!
ReplyDeleteThese movies always deliver on that! Always!
ReplyDeleteIndeed!
