Hopefully, this new Royal actually get something done. But I'm going to miss Alexis Denisof. I just knew his commitment to Finding Carter was gonna be a hindrance for his character to truly move forward in Grimm.
As much as some of us like Sebastian and didn't like to see that happen to him, it doesn't erase the clear track record of woeful incompetence shown by the Royals thus far. Their decision-making and complete lack of success on nearly all fronts is clownish.
Victor gave Adalind a general idea and Adalind did 100% of the leg work. I'm not about to give him the credit Adalind deserves there. As for the other stuff, all Victor managed to do this entire time was screw with some peoples' lives by proxy. He hasn't accomplished anything he has set out to do since he's been introduced. At least the (presumed) deceased Eric almost managed to accomplish something he set out to do when he got the zombified Nick onto that plane.
If you're crediting Eric for that, you have to give Viktor that same credit. Given if you don't you'd be ignoring that all Eric did was lay the ground work and bring in the Cretcher-Mortel to do it. And had the same role Viktor had. Still more than any other Royal.
Eric was there. He was on the plane. He had the forged papers and passport. He actually plotted the thing. All Viktor did is tell someone on the phone from halfway across the world [paraphrasing] "you take the Grimm's powers away and I'll consider giving you your baby back." Two very different scenarios.
It was basically the exact same involvement they planned it. Since Eric didn't do any of that leg work. For those papers or passports. And coming to Portland really did nothing except ensure his own death. Which even Viktor might have escaped.
Any potential escape is irrelevant. The point is that Eric was involved. He was active. There's nothing indicating that Eric didn't collaboratively orchestrate the plot with Baron Samedi.
We know Viktor didn't do anything because Adalind located the book, Adalind pinpointed the spell, Adalind Broke into Nick and Juliette's to get the material she needed and eluded Renard in the process, all before tricking Nick into sleeping with her. All Viktor did was make someone an offer over the phone. It's not even close to the same thing.
Kill off Juliette, please. I love normal episodes of Grimm, but I never liked the multi-episode story arcs on Grimm, neither one of them, and now we have one that makes the most boring and annoying character act like a bitch and Nick weak "anything-you-say-honey" kind of husband.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Finally we get a Royal who isn't a pompous clown.
ReplyDeleteInteresting it's almost like she's being corrupted.

ReplyDeleteI think that's the idea...unfortunately.
ReplyDeleteWell, it seems that the next
ReplyDeleteepisode would introduce an interesting character, also im kind of interested in
Juliette changing behavior.
Uh, Viktor tortured and killed Sebastian and then manipulated Adalind into depowering Nick. Not necessarily clownish.

ReplyDeleteI actually want to see where this goes
ReplyDeleteI'll miss Alexis Denisof, he played an awesome villain!
ReplyDeleteViktor was pretty competent though. As far as the Royals went.
ReplyDeleteViktor created that the plot took Nick's powers away. That's pretty big.
ReplyDeleteYeah but he didn't keep that momentum going.

Then let's put in this way: Viktor may have done less, but unlike Eric he's not dead and the plot he planned actually worked and did something.
ReplyDeleteEric is presumed dead and Viktor's goal this entire time was to obtain Adalind's child which he's not close to accomplishing.
ReplyDeleteEric's dead. But fair.
