Really, Juliette? You couldn't crash at Monroe and Rosalee's place? Ugh. She's just making things worse. The beginning of this promo was damn funny though.

ReplyDeleteStaying at their place would be worse. Since Nick needs time, and her being at two of his closest friends' house isn't really a great idea because of that. Honestly a hotel is probably the best idea, but if it gives Renard more shit to do I'm cool with it.

ReplyDeleteAlso Nick going out for a date... that sounds predictable like Juliette staying with Renard. I wonder if the writers want really go there with those two.
We are way into S4 and the writers are still hell bent on destroying Nick/Juliette's relationship to the point of no return. At this point, other shows would be building a strong relationship in their fourth season but Grimm writers are quite the opposite. Or maybe that's their intention: the show started with Nick and Juliette as a couple and the writers are showing us how this relationship is going to end.
ReplyDeleteStill love the show but as of now, I am very disappointed in this story line.
Why is Juliette leaving at all? It is her house. Nick should leave. In truth this relationship should end, they don't really work as a couple and it only saves the writers from having to introduce new possible women for Nick to meet. Like they keep doing with Hank.

Monroe and Rosalee still don't know about Juliette's Hexenbiest situation, so she can't crash there.
ReplyDeleteHow did the rabbit's foot stay transformed? I thought in the episode about the 'Alien-type' vessen they used some sort of chemical to keep the vessen form. And in the episode with the mummy the vessen was preserved in a state of transformation.

ReplyDeleteYeah if they wanted to break up their relationship they should have done it back in season 1. Little late to make a big change now.

ReplyDeleteIt worked out fine when Juliette was having her memory issues. There's no reason why it wouldn't work now. Ideally, no one should have left.
ReplyDeleteIt was Juliette's choice. If she wanted Nick to leave she was free to say so. As for Hank, they do nothing with Hank. They throw him a bone to give him something to do once in awhile. It's safe to say that Grimm is in no way serious about doing anything significant with his character. That's definitely not what I want for Nick.
ReplyDeleteTrue. But that was different in that there relationship was sorta dead- and now Juliette is a hexenbeist which Nick isn't dealing well with. But yeah no one really should have needed to leave.

ReplyDeleteNot really. I mean in this case it's really justified. What with Nick having a really bad history with Hexenbeists. And it's the best arc Juliette has had ever.
ReplyDeleteWhat? That's a terrible justification. Nick has history with 1 Hexenbiest who happens to be a psycho. That has everything to do with Adalind's personality and little to do with her being a Hexenbiest.

Nick having a hard time makes sense, since that one hexenbeist nearly killed him, his friend, his girlfriend and most importantly caused Juliette's condition by sleeping with him to take his powers, and Juliette becoming a hexenbeist to fix it. He should be having problems dealing with this, since in his mind he caused it.

ReplyDeleteThere's also the thing where no one really likes Hexenbeists, they are truly despised within the wessen community, and the fears she had with Nick's reaction could be similar to the fear Rosalee and Monroe might add.
ReplyDeleteAnd no less important, Juliette is fearfull of her impulses, she even mentions her woges are more often each day. I think she might not want to put them in danger.
Nick having difficulty with such a dramatic change in Juliette makes sense. The fact that she is specifically a Hexenbiest should not. That just smacks of prejudice and that is completely out of character for Nick Burkhardt.
ReplyDeleteThis storyline is built on a house of cards. Nick Burkhardt, the most fair, open-minded, progressive Grimm in the entire history of Grimms recoils at the sight of Juliette as a Hexenbiest when he sees repulsive wesen woge on a regular basis without batting an eye? Bullsh*t. Of course he doesn't. And then there's Juliette, who has known Nick for years, knows how he feels about her, and knows what kind of a Grimm he is actually believes that he would kill her just for being wesen? Bullsh*t. Of course she doesn't. There is nothing in the history of his character that would realistically lead to that conclusion.
Nick should be mad Juliette kept this info from him. They should both be mad that Adalind has inadvertently found a way to screw them over yet again. It's reasonable that Juliette is scared and insecure about this huge change in her life. Unfortunately, Grimm has taken it too far by exaggerating Nick and Juliette's reactions to this dilemma to the point where they're both out of character just so they can add needless melodrama where authentic drama would have sufficed.
Seriously....even Wu is contributing more to solving the crimes than Hank. I like Hank and he makes a great partner for Nick, but sadly, the writers haven't really done anything with his character to make viewers interested enough in him, or interested enough to advocate for a Hank-centric story, so his character is basically screwed.
ReplyDeleteII also think it made sense for Juliette to leave, especially after Henrietta's advice to NIck to keep his distance. Nick would never have left Juliette by herself, regardless of Henrietta's advice Plus, it would have come across as a major rejection.
ReplyDeleteFor the purpose of entertainment, I like the idea of her going to Renard, only because, like you said, it creates an excuse for more Renard screentime. However, realistically-speaking, it was a bad decision on her part, that will only serve to increase the rift between her and Nick. I don't see why she couldn't have told Monroe and Rosalee. I'm sure they would have been sympathetic, and if they agreed to let Adalind stay at their home, they certainly would have let Juliette stay.
I know NIck is open-minded about Wesen, but Hexenbiests are scary! They don't look like the typical Wesen......they look more like poorly mummified human corpses that that died 1000 years ago. Whenever I looked at Juliette, I kept expecting a worm to crawl out of her eye-socket, so I can sort of understand Nick's reaction when she tried to make him kiss her. I agree that it was odd that he couldn't even look at her, but I wonder if it had anything to do with Monroe telling Nick..that it's a terrible feeling to look into a Grimm's eyes when you voge. Something about seeing a dark reflection of yourself., so maybe he did not want Juliette to see that in him.
ReplyDeleteI thought it was strange at first, but now that I think about it, the show does not seem to work in real time. For starters, Nick lost his powers as a Grimm during Monroe and Rosalee's wedding, last year mid-may May. When the show resumed near the end of October, no time had passed then, so that's already more than 5 months lost. The show has also had 2 major hiatuses this season (approximately 2.5 months) and in both instances, they picked off where the show left off. In December, the clifffhanger was Juliete discovering she was a Hexenbiest and the recent pre-hiatus cliffhanger was her telling Nick. Also, In the 14 episodes aired, there's been no indication of significant passage of time, and I can remember at least one 2-part episodes (like the kidnapping of Monroe). So I'm thinking that less than 2.5 months have passed since Adalind slept with Nick. Given that she just delivered a baby, then not having her period yet, or not regaining her figure, would not have caused much alarm.

ReplyDeleteI could maybe buy that last part if Nick hadn't already looked directly at Juliette the first time she performed a woge for him. Granted, Nick thought she was Adalind but he certainly didn't look away.

ReplyDeleteIf they played up the part about Juliette being scared of her ability to control herself and her abilities, that would be a reasoning I could get behind. Grimm unfortunately chose the personal melodrama route instead and just mentioned Juliette's control issues in passing.

ReplyDeleteBut we are still just one episode in since the reveal, so it still can happen, Juliette didn't had to spill everything she felt at one, and I actually liked how she closed off to Nick after he reacted so horrified. And she has reasons to be resentful, so Nick's less than stellar response -although understandable- could likely create more grievances.
ReplyDeleteHe is mad at her for keeping it from him. Yes because seeing your girlfriend woge into a decrept dead witch wouldn't be cringe worthy. OOf course Juliette thinking that isn't realistic. It's not supposed to be, she'd in an incredibly emotional state right now as she's goung through a massive change, and having a boyfriend who has literally murdered people because they can woge, would in her state of mind freak her right the f*ck out. For crap's sake she even dreamed of ripping Rosalee's throat out. I think she can be forgiven for thinking her boyfriend might her her given her problems.
ReplyDeleteIf she was more outwardly presented in that state I'd buy that but she's more dismissive and resentful than anything so it doesn't track. Also, Nick has never "literally murdered people because they can woge." He's killed people because they are threats. Nick has never taken someone's life solely because they are Wesen.

ReplyDeleteThis show went from being very promising to complete trash throwing the most ludicrous drama possible into the mix. Is this really what the show's viewers WANT the show to be about? How many babies Adalind can pump out or how many times can Nick and Juliette be at odds? I keep on holding out hope that the show will get better again but I'm beginning to think it never will.
ReplyDeleteYeah her character sucks. Which is a shame. She's not even a threat. She's not particularly intelligent or powerful and she's smug as hell. Honestly they should either development her massively, or just write her off.
ReplyDeleteI doubt that. Renard's type is clearly blondes. He has no actual attraction to her. Doesn't want to cross any ethical and moral boundaries with regards to Nick. And is a decent guy.
ReplyDeleteThat's what I keep saying, the show's time line is definitely not the same as real time. At least it would be easy to believe so if they didn't ruin the illusion with their Christmas episodes. Monroe and Rosalee's wedding was definitely in spring and now we're already some time past Christmas. If Christmas in Grimm isn't in August, it doesn't add up.

ReplyDeleteEXCEPT it was said many times in Season 3 that Monroe and Rosalee were having a Spring wedding. We've since had a Christmas episode and then quite a bit happen since Christmas. I agree that Grimm time and real time don't sync up, but there has been a definite passage of time since Adalind's encounter with NIck and the revelation that she's pregnant and I have a feeling that the writers will decided to just believe that the viewers won't bother to pick up on that..and they will be wrong.
ReplyDeleteGood point, so I guess the writers either messed up, or the baby was concieved when Juliette slept with Nick as Adalind to get his Grimm powers back, but I prefer to think that they just screwed up, because the second option is just too bizarre! I think they found out that Claire Coffee was pregnant around November, and maybe they changed the plot without thinking about about the inconsistencies
