Please adjust up The 100!
ReplyDeleteIt was at 0.445 in prelims, so there is actually a decent chance, though no precedent to go on.
ReplyDeleteI hope they do. I know there were a significant number of people on Tumblr who were complaining that it was pre-empted for college basketball or wasn't showing until AFTER a game. So not right!!!
ReplyDeleteThe 100 was excellent. I cried, yelled, and I was shaking the whole time!
ReplyDeleteReport is Empire adjusted up, final is 5.8/14.90
ReplyDeleteWhere did you get this number?
ReplyDeleteSeason 3 is a given so I wouldn't worry.
ReplyDeletePlus from the way things look I'm fairly certain that 3 is the last anyway :)
Please The 100 just adjust up I beg you just once
ReplyDeleteAshame the 100 stayed the same but Nevertheless it was awesome! Since i just watched last weeks episode and then the season finale i am still shaking!
ReplyDeleteDammit no adjustment up for The 100 afterall. This sucks :( Especially after last night's unforgettable season finale, they definitely deserved at least a 0.5. Hopefully with a big word of mouth and all the critical praise, the show will kill it in the ratings next season.
ReplyDeleteSad for The 100. I have to admit i wanted for it to have smaller numbers in fall, since Reign is my No.1 CW show, but since they were both renewed anyway i was really rooting for The 100 too. It deserves much better ratings.
ReplyDeleteI think we have to prepare for a long hiatus, i can't imagine that new season will be here before midseason, sadly. I guess there won't be room for it in fall, it looks way too expensive for friday and i would rather have it in midseason with better slot anyway. I am pretty sure that it's post-Arrow slot will be used for new show in fall.
And yes at Empire, it did not decrease after all :)
ReplyDeleteI honestly had some hope for The 100 to adjust up. Turns out, it only added 4K and not enough to make it a 0.5 :(
ReplyDeleteTruly undeserved
Why The 100...and why aren't people watching you like wth, I just don't get it, new people are watching left, right and centre, I guess they're just not nielsen veiwers.
ReplyDeleteBad ratings? And since the writers will rather wrap this show up than leave it on a cliffhanger I'd say season 3 might and should be the last. before endangering the show to end on a cliffhanger you should end it
ReplyDeleteEmpire has the same rating it had last week, but gained about 570,000 viewers.
ReplyDeletePeople that went on the internet and were bombarded with how awesome Ballarke and Bellamy are might not be too hot on it
ReplyDeleteGoing by this logic TVD must have the lowest ratings of the whole CW line up
ReplyDeleteOh yh that's true, it's still a bit disappointing that it's best episode (imo anyway) got a series low.
ReplyDeleteDamn the100 :(
ReplyDeleteNext season I can see the CW not giving The 100 many episodes, maybe like a 10 episode last season,
ReplyDeleteI thought even this season finale was a bit endgame oriented, with the kids returning to the Camp and Clarke leaving for a better tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteI assume they gave in the finale scripts before the pick up in january and maybe just changed Jaha's story at the end.
Ummm...they renewed BatB and Reign
ReplyDeleteThe last thing they'll want to do is get it even further away from syndication.
ReplyDeleteIf BATB was gonna get a final season pick up that would have been season 3, if not season 2 and nobody said Reign was a getting a final season as far as I know.
ReplyDeleteThe writers specifically debated whether to end with a season or a series finale. It was decided before the renewal that they were writing a season finale. The renewal only assured that the cliffhanger would be resolved.
ReplyDeleteYeah, the numbers aren't good. They don't reflect how great this show is.
ReplyDeleteBut these days, you never know with the CW.
Thanks for the info. It still had a bit of a ending vibe with all those closers we got.
ReplyDeleteBut when it comes to CW and syndication every episode counts, they've had BATB at 0.2's for a season and there are 2 more seasons on the way. Plus syndication has become kind of a gray area now that shows with less and less episodes are able to reach it.
ReplyDeletesigh, let's wait and see where things are going. 100 is standing with one instable leg though. If you don't want to be objective fine
ReplyDeleteYep, pretty disappointing. But you know what? I still think the show is going to make it; The CW wouldn't have renewed it if they didn't think it could get to syndication, they could have pulled a Carrie Dairies here.
ReplyDeleteSo that calms me a bit, but it still feels pretty bad that it gets such low ratings when the show is offering so much quality and such a unique and addictive experience. It's Fringe all over again! Ugh, so undeserved
I never said The 100 wasn't doing badly, I just don't think S3 will be the last, besides I'm not the one pulling things out of nowhere.
ReplyDeleteIf the show stick with 16 episodes per season it will only need to survive next season to see syndication.
ReplyDeleteAt the end of season 3: 45 episodes
At the end of season 4: 61 episodes - kicking in syndication benefits.
At the end of season 5: 77 episodes - syndication by The CW standard, like Nikita and HoD
Reign got the full season LNG before it ratings fell to 0.4 though, back when they were 0.6-0.7
ReplyDeleteI agree, given The CW's Netflix deal anyway the odds of us getting a proper ending are good either way. I was so surprised when I saw Fringe made it so far with the ratings it got, and on FOX!
ReplyDeleteI really hope it does survive five seasons.
ReplyDeleteBut The 100 won't see syndication,it will always have short seasons and it's ratings are falling and it's more than two seasons away.Syndication still matters a lot to Czw
ReplyDeleteYep, it was pretty surprising at the time. On season 2 the renewal was pretty much a toss up, then on season 3 we discovered the magic of syndication, and season 4 was the biggest surprise with the final season renewal
ReplyDeleteIt only needs to survive the third, that will be the show hardest challenge yet
ReplyDeleteOne 0.4 is nothing to panic about yet. You're last point is exactly why I think it will get to syndication.
ReplyDeleteWe don't know if the CW will continue beyond 2016 yet, and what motivates the CW now is trying to prove its worth to get Tribune to sign a new deal. Once such deal is hopefully made, the CW could change and care less about syndication of low rated shows. It's too early to tell.
ReplyDeletewhat? When did anyone confirm season 3 getting 22 episodes?
ReplyDeleteThat's assuming it gets 16 episodes seasons three through five, which it might not
ReplyDeleteI think he/she's talking about its season two
ReplyDeleteThey were talking about this season getting renewed for 22 episodes when season 1s finale got .4
ReplyDeleteNot if more than two seasons away.Thats why CD,LuX ,area per we're cancelled with less than 44 episodes-they were too far away from syndication and had bad ratings? This 0.4 will most Likley carry into next season.
ReplyDeleteI don't see a reason why not, why would The CW renew it and make its road to syndication harder? And even if it is 13 per season from now on - and one season of 14-, it'll still get 70 at the end of season 5, in line with the Nikita final countdown
ReplyDeleteThe CW does not care about traditional syndication. If they did, Vampire Diaries would've been airing somewhere already. They want episodes for digital syndication, given their Netflix deal.
ReplyDeleteThey could always change the episode order after seeing the ratings that Reign's season finale got. The 100 will have 16 episodes next season IMO.
ReplyDeleteThe CW does not care about traditional syndication. They're not looking to make 88 episodes of something like The 100. If they cared about traditional syndication, why isn't The Vampire Diaries in syndication? Where is talk about Arrow's syndication deal? CW makes serialized dramas which play better through digital syndication, which they have even more reason to focus on given their Netflix deal.
ReplyDeleteCompletely forgot about that but ratings will have to follow.
ReplyDeleteBoth Nikita and Hart Of Dixie had 22-episode order for their first 3 seasons whereas The 100 didn't.
I agree with you. They are less bothered about traditional syndication because they have already sold it to Netflix. Its constantly popping up as one of the most watched recommendations on my Netflix in the UK. Its also sold well overseas which is another source of revenue for them. It also has one of the best up ticks in figures (percentages I think) for all the CW shows when the +7 data is released. Add to that the fact its finally getting the critical acclaim it deserves and has a pretty big and engaged fanbase across the world (not just domestically).
ReplyDeleteI think the CW has started to look at shows in a different way from old traditional methods and I think thats why The 100 may be ok even if its traditional broadcasting figures do not improve.
Really?VM,OTzh,Nikita,Gosdip Girl,Reaper,Secret Circle,Everybody Hates Chris,AnTM,SMV,SPN,,Girlfriends,,90210 all are/have been syndicated.Dyndication is a networks second biggest source of income and especially important to Czw who gets lower ad revunue due to lower ratings. If CW didn't care about trafitional syndication, they wouldn't have gibpven Nikita,HoD,Batzb enough seasons/episodes to get to at least 70 episodes for short traditional dyndivpcation. They also would've made traditional syndication deals for GG,Nikita,90210 in the last two years if they didn't cre about ttrational syndication.Plus CzbS owns CW in Oart and they are a syndication factory and have said CW is profitable in part due to syndication.Traditional syndication still makes money.Sbout Vzd,some shows don't get syndicated til they endl
ReplyDeleteBecause 1.its ratings are falling and are/have been soso 2.Free up room to get Midseason or summer shows on sooner.Dont assume it'll have 16 episodes until/unless Czw confirms it.Plus,Czw only cares about syndication for shows with two full season to get to syndication fasterhe shows that didn't get two full seasons ect are gone.CWs not gonna take two or more season with it it getting 9.4s in the finale of s2 to get it to syndication. Also,I don't see Thec100 being syndicated-heavily seat.used shows are hard to sell to syndication and a sci FI double that.SCFzy said they wouldn't pick it up,
ReplyDeleteWait are you talking about this season-Reigns second and when it was renewed for season two-or Reigns third season?Yes they Coukd do a BatB-two short 13 episode seasons, but we'll see. They didn't change it's season two order and it's finale hadn't aired yet.But Czw seems high on Reign no matter the ratings,
ReplyDeleteThat's Bs .CW has syndicated most of thier shows traditionally-Nikita,VM,OTzh,90210,Gossip Girl,Gilmore Girls,7 th Heaven,Everyone Hates Chris,Girlfriends,ANTM,SMV,SPN,ANTzm,Secret Circle,Reaper, all of US.They aren't sneezing at the syndication money ANTzm,SMV,SPN especially bring in.Syndication still makes them money and Czw is half owned by CBS-a known syndication factory.CbS has also said CW is profitable in part due to syndication.
ReplyDeleteI watch it n I love it so thanks!😀
ReplyDeleteSpotted ratings
ReplyDeleteSome shows don't get syndicated til after the end and are off air,
ReplyDeleteOnce again, one or two posters think they know every single thing about what a network wants and/or needs for syndication in this ever changing world of TV viewing. I think all of the networks have thrown the old rule back out given some of their renewals and cancellations. Get with 2015 please.
ReplyDeleteCouldn't agree more Toni!!
ReplyDeleteTHanks
ReplyDeleteAt this point I'm just really glad we got season 3, even if that means a year long wait. The CW needs to promote the show ... they didn't even have a photo shoot for season 2 ... all their material was reused photos from season 1! :(
