ReplyDeleteI'm soo freaking tired of people saying this!!!! vD is declining & aging fast and last week hit a series low.This week,Fladh hit a series low,SPN tied its series low-Messengers wouldn't do well with a fading leadin,tough competition espesicially in spring with DST.Czw is tired if trying and failing to launch new hits out of VD and decided to keep an established show there.CW clearly didn't like Mesngers and prefered IZombie- and Messengers ,just like The 100 sounds off brand/poor fit for Czw-VD wouldn't be a good leadin especially if falls Futher in April.
ReplyDeleteI can understand wanting to make the show very dramatic, but they really messed this one up bad. I don't know how they ever thought that turning a rape into a love triangle and making Mary as unlikable as possible was a good idea.

ReplyDeleteI don't see how The Messengers could have done any worse than Reign, seriously. I cannot imagine it doing 0.2s, I just can't. It's not like the CW is flooding with winners. You say a lot of things in there, and most of them happen to be true but they do not qualify as reasons for what has been done.

It's more to do with timeslot then lead-in. No show works as a good lead-in on The CW. If they had no faith in it they wouldn't be promoting it so much. I think it's more likely that after seeing The 100, which is a very niche show, get middling but steady ratings they decided to take their chances and try to replicate the results with another niche show but on a night where the same ratings look much better.

ReplyDeleteI don't think it is ripe, no, I agree. But I think it is still the best possibility. Had they done it in January, it could have premiered before the return of Grey's. After that, well, it would have to hold. But it is still better to face Grey' than to face the Voice on Monday, and I don't think they should pair female and male shows so those were the two choices.

Do you know how often shippers and non shippers agree with each other? Well, considering your idiotic comment, practically never. And yet, the fandom is united on THIS.
It's rare enough that shipping fandoms alone can actually get along.
So congratulations, this show has shown what happens when they pander to people like you. Tanked ratings and swiftly dwindling fanbase. Good job!

ReplyDeleteShows have survived DST before. It's not the death curse you are implying it is. It hurts shows but doesn't kill them, especially if they have a chance to gather an audience before DST hits.

ReplyDeleteAnd as for TM/IZombie it is not about preference. The CW has two nights that skew essentially male (~40% skew), except for Supernatural which is the eternal 50% hybrid. Then they have two nights which skew female (~65% skew). So it simply makes sense to put the male skewing show (TM) on male skewing nights and the female skewing show (iZombie) on the female skewing ones.

ReplyDeleteNever said it was VDs fault..as I typed VD i was laughing,but with the way how the ratings are going for it where it loses it viewers during the second half of the show that really leaves nothing for Reign.Added to that VD was strong in previous years and the hype is gone so if bigger numbers are needed for Reign it needs to be moved.

ratings won't change much for Reign anyway, season 3 is probably its last anyway (one season to wrap up Marys life is enough IMO)
