CSI: Cyber - CMND:\Crash - Advance Preview and Teasers

CSI: Cyber, which premiered last Wednesday, is the first CSI series I'm actively following. I have seen some random episodes here and there of the previous three series, but never any full seasons or so. I am of course familiar with the general concept of the franchise, but Cyber does not fit in at first sight. However, it doesn't bother me much and since I found the premiere episode a good one, I'm sticking with it. Cyber's second episode airs this Wednesday, and SpoilerTV gives you an exclusive preview of the episode.

We start at Thrill Country Amusement Park in Richmond, Virginia, where a crash happens with a roller coaster. A couple of people die and dozens more are injured. The crash was no accident, so the Cyber division is called in. Turns out someone found a way to hack into the ride's internal computer or something like that. The team has a couple of suspects, but since all the victims were random, they deduce that the culprit's only goal was to create a carnage. However, since the damage is minimal in the culprit's eyes, there will be a second attack. So it becomes a race against the clock to prevent that second attack.

I must say this was quite an intense and action-packed episode. I am really enjoying the characters as well, especially Avery, Elijah and Simon. James van der Beek and Peter MacNicol are doing great jobs in the acting department, while Patricia Arquette is a good lead for the show. The case was once again a tad unrealistic, and I suppose this will continue throughout the series. However, I have no problem with that as long as they deliver. This episode unintentionally made me think about the possibilities of cyber crime, because it sure seems like anything is possible these days. Kind of creepy, isn't it?

Here are some more teasers from "CMND:\Crash":
-We get some insight into Elijah Mundo when we see his family and marital status.
-Also, we learn a bit more about Nelson. Avery is certainly keeping tabs on him and keeps an eye out whether or not he is doing his job.
-A quote from the episode: "This will become a bromance."
-The opening scene of the episode is intense! The scene was on par with the openings of former time slot occupant 'Stalker'. You will certainly think about this the next time go into a roller coaster.
-There is an interesting scene between Assistant Deputy Director Simon and someone named Colin Vickner, played by guest star Jason George. I'm not exactly sure what it was myself, but it might mean something that's coming up in the future.

"CMND:\Crash:" airs Wednesday at 10/9c. Check out a promo of the episode here.
