I'm laughing like a maniac, I can't help it! Everyone's complaining about how much they are over hyping the episodes and he says that in the clip. Seriously MG, just stop.
Right? The only cliffhanger that was relatively chocking this season was Oliver dying, everything else was either predictable or lame. I don't see the need for this previews anyway, just release the sneak peeks and be done with it.
In addition to abusing the words "epic" and "will never be the same", he needs to stop promising so much because at this point we just get annoyed more than disappointed.
I just realized something! "The show will never be the same" is Marc's "Previously on Arrow", it's just a tagline for the previews! And here we thought he was just being a classic Guggenheim when in fact it's a mandatory intro, smh.
He should take a look at how Jason Rothenberg does episode previews for The 100. He never gives away any spoilers or even give an inkling to us audience anything shocking is going to happen. Result is we actually get shocked unlike Arrow. Hell even Julie Plec and Michael Narducci are so much better than Trollenheim in doing previews.
At this point I don't even have the energy to get annoyed at MG. He is like that annoying relative who never understands you are annoyed by him. We just have to suffer him and discard everything he says.
I'm a little behind on The 100 so I don't read spoilers and I don't watch The Vampire Diaries anymore, the only preview I used to see was for Hart Of Dixie and that was kind of lame. Guggenheim is all over the place with his snark, his trolling and over hyping the episodes, sometimes is funny and sometimes is infuriating... I just watch for the scenes and try to completely dismiss everything he says.
I don't watch TVD either. I watch The Originals. Julie and Miachel are far more better than MG. Never seen Hart of Dixie. Is it good? I need some shows to binge watch during summer.
Yes, "The show will never be the same" is true. you saw the spoiler pictures from The Flash set. it's episode 18 the show MUST change. there are just 5 episodes till the season finale. so i buy his word, but i keep my expectancies at the mid level, I wanna be Surprise (I HOPE).
I'm behind on The Originals too... =( Hart of Dixie is super cute... there was some inconsistencies in seasons 02 and 03 but I would recommend because it's adorable and funny. Very light themes, very little angst, if that's your kind of thing you should definitely watch! Also, even if it isn't officially cancelled yet season 04 it's probably the last and the season finale was great!
Funny, this is the fourth time in a year that I've heard him say that. I remember him saying it for Deathstroke, The Climb, Nanda Parbat and this. And he probably said it in some prior to Deathstroke but I don't remember watching all of them before that. HOW MANY TIMES CAN A SHOW NOT BE THE SAME???
Sorry to cross the comic book universes but just can't get this out of my mind here.
Is it a comedy or drama? I am not much into comedies. That's why I have not yet got into Jane the Virgin. I am a drama girl. I like dark and broody as well as light and fluffy on my shows. I will have to watch to know if I will like the show.
When I was young there was this neighbor who used to visit our home once a week and sit for one hour and be obnoxious. We kids would all make faces once we are out of his sight and my parents used to smile and tolerate him. MG reminds me of him.
From what? Disappointment? Maybe not, the fans have been let down a lot so you need to play it safe and not repeat your mistakes. If there's indeed a huge cliffhanger then awesome we will be truly shocked and if not then no harm done.
Yeah, they say admiting something is the first step, right? But it would be better if he stopped saying it for a while so fans don't feel so disapointed all of the time... Over hyping is never good, is always better to let people SEE how amazing an episode is than telling them, because, chances are, by then they'll expect too much and it will fall short. For whatever's worth, it's a network thing, everything seems to be epic and life changing for the CW ;-)
I wonder if "things never being the same" is "Arrows" way of opening the door and bringing superpowers etc ( things they said we'd never see on the show ) onto the show.
Knowing Marcy Marcs tendency to oversell things (prone? Really...that's the word you chose? How about "I'm usually being a Mac when talking about this show) I'd say something happens that will mildly affect the show
Let`s be honest here, the show hasn't been the same since 3*01 and that wasn't because someone died or some plot changed but because the writers chose fanservice over storytelling
Is this the episode where the foundry disappears?? Maybe for him that's the mistery, hahahaha i really don't know and i don't think that i care i just want to see the episode and watch my ship hahahahaha
Well we know that Lance finds out that Oliver is the Arrow and maybe this episode the Foundry goes away. Oliver decides to take up the role as the next Ra's. Can they just get rid of these producer reviews and just give us clips? I think everyone is in agreement that he needs to read a script when doing the review or we'd rather just not have any reviews at all.
I'll be completely honest here, if I had any say in this I'd cut every single character except Oliver, Roy, Malcolm and Laurel (Felicity can hang with Firestorm since she was originally a Firestorm character, Diggle pushed down to recurring as a Rick Flagg-esque character, Thea moves away from all the trouble, Lance is killed). Also I'd shrink the recurring cast down to GA only-relevant characters
That way we'd have cleaned the slate and could actually go and tell stories that are truly relevant to our hero, not his love-interests
If I were in charge I would have kept Sara dead and the 5 years Oliver was on the island, Laurel would have been building up her strengths as a fighter so that when she did finally pick up the mantle it was believable. I still can't take her storyline serious and that's nothing to do with Katie it's the storyline. I do agree that Felicitys strengths as the IT nerd seemed more suited to the Flash than Arrow when they did the cross over. I'm not an expert on the comics but was GA an expert on all things IT, forensics etc or is there a need to have Felicity to fill that role on Arrow? Part of me can't wait for this season to end so that they will be rid of one superhero in Ray (not that I don't like him just don't think he wasnt used effectively - he's a decent actor) and they can hit the reset button and put the focus back on Oliver and take the romance down about 50 notches.
It's a drama technically, but is very light. It's about a New York doctor who goes to Alabama, joins a practice and causes some havoc. It's pretty much the same tone as Jane, so I don't think you'll like that much.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
After this episode "The show will never be the same"...Sounds serious
ReplyDeleteeven because his definition of epic is very distorted
ReplyDeleteSomeone needs to explain to him the true meaning of "epic" and "surprising cliffhanger".
ReplyDeleteLOOOOOOOOOL.
ReplyDeleteThe show will still be the same, mark my words, NOTHING. WILL. CHANGE.
Trust me I KNOW! I actually didn't watch the clip because I don't want to get my hopes up but I read others comments.
ReplyDeleteHow amany times has he said the same thing? I mean, really they need to start scripting this producers previews...
ReplyDeleteI'm laughing like a maniac, I can't help it! Everyone's complaining about how much they are over hyping the episodes and he says that in the clip. Seriously MG, just stop.
ReplyDeleteanytime he uses the words epic & the show will never be the same i am left disappointed. Cant they have another EP do these previews.
ReplyDeleteRight?
ReplyDeleteThe only cliffhanger that was relatively chocking this season was Oliver dying, everything else was either predictable or lame.
I don't see the need for this previews anyway, just release the sneak peeks and be done with it.
Who? Andrew is busy with the Flash and Greg is not involved in the day to day stuff.
ReplyDeleteIn addition to abusing the words "epic" and "will never be the same", he needs to stop promising so much because at this point we just get annoyed more than disappointed.
ReplyDeleteI just realized something! "The show will never be the same" is Marc's "Previously on Arrow", it's just a tagline for the previews! And here we thought he was just being a classic Guggenheim when in fact it's a mandatory intro, smh.
ReplyDeleteEXACTLY.
ReplyDeleteHe should take a look at how Jason Rothenberg does episode previews for The 100. He never gives away any spoilers or even give an inkling to us audience anything shocking is going to happen. Result is we actually get shocked unlike Arrow.

Oliver becomes Ra's Al Ghul doesn't he? DAMN THAT BASTARD RA'S!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeletebut at least this time he ADMITTED that he's prone to saying that and you saw the pictures. He's not exaggerating
ReplyDeleteremember the pictures
ReplyDeleteI take it you didn't see the set pictures of Oliver on The Flash?
ReplyDeleteYa. Exactly the pictures. Guggenheim probably did this before The Flash pictures came out.
ReplyDeleteEven if the show will never be again, why ruin it?
ReplyDeleteI'm behind on The Originals too... =(
ReplyDeleteHart of Dixie is super cute... there was some inconsistencies in seasons 02 and 03 but I would recommend because it's adorable and funny. I'm sorry to be the one to tell you this but it was officially canceled :(
ReplyDeleteIt was? I kind of missed that haha! But it's okay, I really like how things ended!
ReplyDelete"The show will never be the same"

Cool. I'm happy for you.
ReplyDeleteGreat metaphor hahaha
ReplyDeleteits so epically epic that it is the epicpocalypse!
ReplyDeleteIs it a comedy or drama? I am not much into comedies. That's why I have not yet got into Jane the Virgin. I am a drama girl. I like dark and broody as well as light and fluffy on my shows. I will have to watch to know if I will like the show.

ReplyDeleteWe all have that neighbor.
ReplyDeleteNot yet *runs to watch it*
That was very cool.
ReplyDeleteYeah, they say admiting something is the first step, right? But it would be better if he stopped saying it for a while so fans don't feel so disapointed all of the time... ReplyDeleteHa! I like that idea.
ReplyDeleteDeathstroke was the best of those three imo so I am hoping it is as good as it.
Knowing Marcy Marcs tendency to oversell things (prone? Really...that's the word you chose? How about "I'm usually being a Mac when talking about this show) I'd say something happens that will mildly affect the show
ReplyDeleteLet`s be honest here, the show hasn't been the same since 3*01 and that wasn't because someone died or some plot changed but because the writers chose fanservice over storytelling
i hope so
ReplyDeletedefinitely agree with that, i mean it didn't bother me the first few times but after that WOW he uses it a lot
ReplyDeleteIs this the episode where the foundry disappears?? Maybe for him that's the mistery, hahahaha i really don't know and i don't think that i care i just want to see the episode and watch my ship hahahahaha
ReplyDeleteMarc says that but I'm thinking "Nothing will change", lol.
ReplyDeleteOh I see it, but still ... not buying the whole epic thing until I see.
ReplyDeleteIf the public knows Oliver is Arrow, it kinda makes the whole duality identity problem a moot point.
ReplyDeleteAnd so many supporting characters that they are trying to develop at the expensive of Arrows journey and this season has been messy!!!
ReplyDeleteWell we know that Lance finds out that Oliver is the Arrow and maybe this episode the Foundry goes away. Oliver decides to take up the role as the next Ra's.
