Ward is back! Yes, yes! And this scene is awesome. I like that they are doing this for her, their personal mission is definitely about her and getting her face back. :D But I'm afraid things will go south.
I loved the past three episodes but his absence was definitely felt and I've missed him so much.
And yeah, I definitely think he's going back to the team because Coulson helped him escape (convinced of this theory because it makes sense). Can't wait for this/tomorrow!
Not neccessarily, it could be a former Shield agent/tech/medical guy that got out after the fall. I wouldn't expect a Hydra member to react like he's doing (or to be out isolated like that).
Coulson made his feelings pretty clear with Ward before putting him on the truck. Can't see anything that would have changed his mind, in fact Ward kidnapping Skye (thus being the cause of her change) along with Bobbi and Mack's op maybe coming out would most likely increase Coulson's feelings against him.
I really hope that it doesn't happen like that. There hasn't been anything like the time needed (nor actions taken) for Ward tohave been redeemed to any of the team.
Ward escaped way too easily, Coulson seemed super chill about him "murdering" his family (not convinced they're dead because it happened off-screen and there were no bodies) and kidnapping Skye, and there's so many clues adding up.
Plus, I got called delusional for this theory so now I need to be spiteful and throw it in those people's faces when the truth comes out.
Yes. Tim Roth played "Pumpkin" and Amanda Plummer played "Honey Bunny". They hold up a diner at the beginning of the movie. If you google "Pumpkin and Honey Bunny" the scene will come up.
Winter Soldier also had a Pulp Fiction easter egg at the end of the movie when they showed Nick Fury's gravestone. It was inscribed with "Ezekiel 25:17
Coulson's not chill about it, there's just been far too much happening other than chasing Ward (and it wasn't Shield members that got killed). He had no problem with Skye putting 4 rounds into him, or May wanting to kill him.
To be honest your theory is like the one that was going around after we saw that he was Hydra "oh he's not, he's a double agent" when we have had it clearly stated by Ward both in actions and in words that he was a willing agent of Hydra.
As stated by Ward, he was loyal to Garrett (his kidnapper and abuser) not Hydra.
I think it's a definite possibility and I'm not giving up on the theory especially since I'm not alone in believing it. Guess we'll have to wait and see!
Your not alone, because it plays well withthe SkyeWard shippers (mainly as its the only way it could happen). Ward might be trying to redeem himself, he might even hope to "get back on the team" but I just can't see any of what we've seen from either his actions, or those of the team in reacting to him that supports anything like he's working for Coulson (no more than he was when he killed Hand, etc)
Redemption isn't going to be easy (not supposed to be) but I'm looking forward to seeing how it happens. Either way, I am excited for tomorrow and the rest of the season!
Why would Coulson help him escape, killing some FBI agent and eventually his family just so he can return? That doesn't make any sense, especially with Coulson's character, not willing to sacrifice innocent/civilian life when dealing with Hydra.
Well, the screen faded to black so again, not sure they actually died either. And like I said, his family's death happened off screen and we saw no bodies so...
It happened off screen but there's greater implication for Grant shooting the agents and setting his family on dire than there is against him doing it because there's actual build up like gun shots being heard and Grant convincing his brother that all was forgiven when he probably didn't since he hated his brother, a known a fact .
It's pretty cool how this storyline gives Ming-Na a chance to play a dual role and flex more of her acting muscles. The entire deal with Agent 33 is pretty sad, though... she was completely devoted to Whitehall and now that he's dead, she's latched on to the first person who showed her any kindness. I hope they can un-brainwash her at some point.
You know, when Ward first escaped I had a sneaking suspicion that Coulson may have set that up, in an attempt to have his cake and eat it too (get what he wanted from the Senator - a delcaration that SHIELD is benign - but not hold up his own end of the deal in handing Ward over, since Coulson could tell the Senator was bad news). After all, Coulson should've known better than to secure Ward with regular handcuffs. Also, we see him suspiciously leafing through Ward's files right before the botched prisoner exchange, as if looking for an out to give Ward (the file may have mentioned Ward's ability to do things like slipping out of those cuffs). There's always the issue of Coulson not likely to risk Ward killing the feds who were transferring him, though.
That being said - as you mentioned, Ward's actions in 2x09 would further deter Coulson from wanting anything to do with the guy even IF Coulson did let him escape on purpose. He helped Hydra find the Bus, thus putting half of Coulson's team right in their crosshairs, and kidnapped Skye again (which: being as protective of Skye as he is, I can't imagine Coulson appreciated her being forced to meet her father with all of the baggage that entails). Not terribly "redemptive", now, is it?
People (some of them) don't seem to realize that it doesn't matter who Ward was loyal to in his heart, it matters what he DID in the end of the day. If I kill you, you're not going to care if I did it for my own benefit, for a friend Hydra), or for a friend (Hydra) OF a friend (Garrett).
Ward willingly and knowingly worked for a Nazi organization bent on mass genocide (Cap 2) and world domination. That made him a Hydra agent. His reasons for being one are irrelevant.
i thought she would be able to but someone pointed out that the only reason Gill was able to get unbrainwashed for a while was because he's Gifted so maybe 33 can't get unbrainwashed
Specialist non-field agents would be vary scared having a gun pointed at them irrespective of whether or not they were SHIELD or Hydra. Some might have some training with weapons but I don't think that it was mandatory for all, look at Fitz in season 1. I think there's some situations they are trained to be ready for and some get that respective training, should it be deemed necessary but I doubt all of them go through it.
Nah, he's too smart for that. Fool me once and all of that. I even suspect he knows that Bobbi and Mack are up to something and will reveal it at the most opportune time (he already caught on to the fact that Bobbi and Hunter were a thing again, and suddenly Hunter is MIA... come on).
Huh. I can't remember what they said about how Donnie's brainwashing worked. I do know they'll have to un-brainwash Bucky/Winter Soldier because he's supposed to go back on the good side and possibly even step into the Captain America role, but he's technnically a "gifted" too, having been given the super-soldier serum.
If Agent 33/Kara can't be un-brainwashed, then damn, I feel sorry for her.
Is it just me or did Ward seem insincere when he was saying those nice things to her? Maybe I'm biased because I'm not too hot on the idea of Ward being redeemed, to say the least, but I'm more inclined to believe he's using Agent 33 than that he genuinely cares about helping her.
In the comics, both Sam/the Falcon and Bucky pick up the mantle of Captain America. While Steve is by far the well-known and beloved one, Captain America is a title, not a specific person (a common thing in comics).
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Yes, Ward is back! Snarky Ward at that. And I knew they were going to get Kara's face back and I'm so excited about that!
ReplyDeleteNice nod to Pulp Fiction with the "pumpkin" pancakes. "I love you pumpkin...I love you honey bunny....EVERYBODY BE COOL THIS IS A ROBBERY!"
ReplyDeletelove those two, excited for the storyline...
ReplyDeleteOh Ward, I've missed you.
ReplyDeleteLoved the Pulp Fiction stuff, but the waitress has no questions about 33's face or voice? That seems like the kind of thing a person would notice? lol
ReplyDeleteIt'd be really rude of someone to ask questions about that.
ReplyDeleteYasssss!!...Ward is back...I missed him!!!
ReplyDeleteWard and Kara adventures! I could watch a show of just these two causing havoc everywhere. This is going to be fun.
ReplyDeleteWard is back!!! *smiling brightly*
ReplyDeleteAnd Ming Na is killing it!
I really love that clip seriously they look like they're having so much fun.
ReplyDeleteHaha very Pulp Fiction like. You would think they could have just asked him...but that wouldn't be any fun.
ReplyDeleteWard is back! Yes, yes! And this scene is awesome. I like that they are doing this for her, their personal mission is definitely about her and getting her face back. :D But I'm afraid things will go south.
ReplyDeleteInteresting, wonder how this plays out, is that guy a former Hydra/Shield tech? Or just a civillian.
ReplyDeleteYeah she looks like she's having fun playing someone that isn't May, though I wonder if this is the last episode with her doing this?
ReplyDeleteYeah, can't imagine that conversation going well if some random stranger started asking why you had a scarred face.
ReplyDeleteThe original actress is listed in the press release so I'm assuming Kara does get her face back.
ReplyDeleteOr it could be flashbacks, guess we'll have to wait and see.
ReplyDeleteI have a theory that Ward and Kara somehow find "real SHIELD" and he leaves her with them so they can help her.
ReplyDeleteit's actually pretty nice, i keep forgetting Ming-Na plays 33 LOL
ReplyDeleteleaves her? huh and he goes back to the Playground? doesn't it feel like 10 years since we last saw Grant? LOL
ReplyDeleteand he's probably HYDRA and you don't play nice with HYDRA, EVER
ReplyDeletewell 33 was a HYDRA brainwash so the guy is definitely HYDRA
ReplyDeleteI loved the past three episodes but his absence was definitely felt and I've missed him so much.
ReplyDeleteAnd yeah, I definitely think he's going back to the team because Coulson helped him escape (convinced of this theory because it makes sense). Can't wait for this/tomorrow!
GRANT WARD'S BACK AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteoh in the movie "pumpkin" was a pet name?
ReplyDeleteshe definitely has a crush huh?
ReplyDeletei would be so awesome if he does
ReplyDeleteYeah, she does and it's so uncomfortable. Please stop, Kara.
ReplyDeleteNot neccessarily, it could be a former Shield agent/tech/medical guy that got out after the fall. I wouldn't expect a Hydra member to react like he's doing (or to be out isolated like that).

huh cool
ReplyDelete"no body, no death"
ReplyDeletewell they're not all intimidating-looking

ReplyDeleteWell I'm not happy he's back and I'm even more so after seeing how taken Agent 33 is with Ward.
ReplyDeleteIt's pretty cool how this storyline gives Ming-Na a chance to play a dual role and flex more of her acting muscles. I'm desperate for her to be unbrainwashed. She was a very loyal SHIELD agent and now..................
ReplyDeleteThe whole thing is just sad.
If you are a trained agent (either Hydra or Shield) do you think they would freak? Hell even Skye didn't freak when Quinn pointed a gun at her.
ReplyDeleteMost of the members of SHIELD (and probably HYDRA) were not agents but rather scientists etc.
ReplyDeletePlease Coulson dont fall for it all over again cant wait
ReplyDeletei thought she would be able to but someone pointed out that the only reason Gill was able to get unbrainwashed for a while was because he's Gifted so maybe 33 can't get unbrainwashed

ReplyDeletepumpkin pancakes sound gross by the way LOL

ReplyDeleteThey both give me the creeps
ReplyDeleteNeed Phinda canon & agree thx.
ReplyDeleteDo you mean Philinda i.e. Coulson/May?
ReplyDeleteHuh. I can't remember what they said about how Donnie's brainwashing worked. ReplyDeleteI feel like this epi is gonna be good!
ReplyDeletepoor girl, oh yeah i COMPLETELY forgot Bucky's a super soldier too LOL. Steve Rogers is ONE and ONLY Captain America
ReplyDeleteIn the comics, both Sam/the Falcon and Bucky pick up the mantle of Captain America. While Steve is by far the well-known and beloved one, Captain America is a title, not a specific person (a common thing in comics).
ReplyDeleteYup... that was very Pulp Fiction of them...
ReplyDeleteStill Ward is not to be trusted just yet. Needs to win back the trust.
ReplyDeleteso it's like The Black Widow title that Natasha has?
ReplyDeletewhat is that?
ReplyDeleteHitting some really hard in the head
