Looks very cool but what happened to all of May's heart rate control and training. I know she's freaked out and understandably but all of that training couldn't have completely gone out the door.
If Sif has lost some of her memory she may not recognise him, I think some of the stills had Bobbi facing off against him, maybe he's playing her and the team into thinking he's asgardian or something. And yes much better sneak peak. Can't wait to watch now.
I don't think I can wait one more day after seeing that. I love the fact that the moment they sense the quake Fitz leaves to look for Skye. Also, May is the first one to realize about Skye, pretty sure she was suspicioius since the blood incident the other episode. And Coulson looks a little freak out/shocked/scared, doesn't he?
With no control of her powers it's not much of a surprise, think about it, she's standing in a room with her parental figures and two aliens being told she's a weapon that has to be destroyed, meanwhile she notices she's starting to quake, combined it could be like a panic attack feeding on itself... Hell if Sif is looking at you like that I'd bet even May might be a bit nervous.
P.S. Can Marvel's YouTube channel stop being so darn lazy that they wait until the day the episode airs to upload its sneak peeks? This show needs all the promotional help it can get.
I think she knew Skye was going to say something major in the isolation chamber before fitz came back, there's also that clip of her saying the "death follows" line to Coulson though we don't know where that falls in the episode. However she doesn't seem as shocked/potentially hostile as Coulson
That's what I think as well, that Sif doesn't realize he's the guy she previously fought, and now he's using that to present himself as an ally and get close to Sif and the team.
When you think about it, it's a perfect in for him if he's figured out Sif doesn't remember him, using Sifs relationship with the team, maybe even getting her to do the work for him. Can't imagine Sif being too happy when she figures out though...
If ONLY it were possible to enjoy a platonic friendship between a man and a woman without instantly becoming a shipper, making 100000 gifs of them to upload to Tumblr and harrassing the writers on Twitter to make that ship happen! Life is cruel.
I agree with you on much of what you've said that with next to no understanding of her powers, there's little chance of her fully controlling them. What has me scratching my head however is that we all see that its linked initially to her emotional state. And we've seen that she's received advanced training in controlling here emotions and centering herself. I'm just surprised that we're seeing none of that training or any reference to it at all. Its just that she's at square one, which I guess is fine it just struck me as inconsistent.
On a separate but related topic, I gotta ask: why all the gushing about parental figures? I've been seeing an increasing number of posts about this... "Coulson is Skye's REAL father....Mama May.... etc etc" They're nice emotional connections I agree but I just don't get the gushing over and over again.
Like I said I understand that it adds depth to the interpersonal relationships and I acknowledge it is there but I'm having hard time understanding why it rates SO high with some people. What are people expecting or hoping to see? Are they hoping to see Coulson and May get married and adopt Skye? Are they hoping for that same feeling they get when the Charming family is torn apart and then reunited on Once Upon a Time? I just don't get it.
Yeah, Coulson's face looks like a mix of contradicting emotions. I wonder how will all play out. It looks like a very interesting episode, that's for sure.
Oh boo freaking hoo. I'm getting so sick and tired of people like you. People like you treat platonic relationships on shows like they're some kind of agenda, and criticize people who want to ship couples a certain way.
If you want them to remain platonic that's fine, I have no issue with that, but mocking people who might see the possibility of them being more than friends just makes you look like a dick.
I think it's similar to people shipping people romantically. In Coulson/Skye/May it's shipping them along familial terms. Skye grew up an orphan and has always wanted a family and she's found it. Coulson and May feel responsible over her. Coulson seems very fatherly to the younger agents like Skye and Jemma and Fitz.
I wonder when in the episode this scene happens? I was hoping it would stay a secret for while longer. Love the way Fitz goes running. Skye is gonna need him.
OMG....soooo can't wait...it's insane! :D my vision of what happens next: Skye answers "me" and seeing Sif charging towards her, May takes Skye's hand and they run, so she can hide Skye somewhere safe while she fixes the problem haha :D ps. can't see it here, but saw it on AoS FB page https://www.facebook.com/AgentsofShield ;)
Nope, ABC are annoying tools whose videos are always geo-locked. Hopefully, it will be uploaded to Marvel's YouTube channel soon (for some reason, they always wait until the last minute to put the sneak peeks up there).
Looking at the promo and maybe matching them up, I'm going with no, there's at least one clip of the windows shattering. Hope he paid the insurance this year.
Don't ever try to tell shippers that their ship isn't the single most important thing in the universe, let alone the show, and everything else must bow down to it. I still remember a comment by Aydrian regarding Trip's death, where he/she basically said "Too bad, but I ship FitzSimmons and this removes a potential obstacle, so...". In other words, a character many people loved had been reduced to an "obstacle" because he got in the way of someone's precious ship (never mind that there was barely any indication of a possible Trip/Simmons romance in the first half of the season).
Obviously not. Male characters can murder (see: Ward) or rape someone and still be cool as long as they're got a pretty face and abs. Female characters are bitches if they do anything except help kittens off trees and help old ladies cross the street.
I admit that I ship almost everyone on this show but even I know that it's all just for fun and not all of them are going to be canon (ex. Skimmons, FitzWard before Ward's betrayal). The storyline and the development of the characters is the most important for me.
The Inhumans were basically to be used as soldiers against the Skrulls in the Kree-Skrull war. They could alter their DNA and make them look like other races and use them as spies. They also wanted to use them as super soldiers to defeat them. The Kree were also looking for a way to evolve themselves. But for some reason, we don't know why, they abandoned the project.
Sif is one of my favourite characters in the Thor Universe if not my favourite but if she tries to kill Skye, I'm going to have some serious loyalty issues here....
The point of my first reply was that Aydrian bemoaned the fact that now he/she "must" ship Skye and Fitz (and presumably that interferes with his/her FitzSimmons shipping). I'm just calling out the ridiculousness of not being able to appreciate a platonic friendship, ever, but immediately evaluating it as a "ship", which is a problem if you already ship one of the parties with someone else. Not a single thing about Skye and Fitz's interaction last episode, or in this sneak peek, suggests that they are a potential couple. Fitz is just being a friend to her (and an awesome one, too). It's just frustrating as all hell to me that people have to bring ships into EVERYTHING.
>Are they hoping to see Coulson and May get married uhm... [heavy breathing] don't be silly... hee hee... no one... [nervous laughter] is hoping for that...
I'm not gonna lie, I love the Coulson/May/Skye dynamic...But I get what you mean when people "gush" about it. But I know that I definitely think it would be the stupidest thing to think Coulson and May getting married and adopting Skye...that's like...Wtf? No. I love them all to death, but the thought of something that cheesy happening just makes me cringe. I mean Coulson seems to be more equal with his paternalism (Simmons and Fitz), but May's character seems mostly focused on Skye's character (being her S.O. and everything). But the emotional connection between the three of them will always be the thing that makes me love this "relationship?" among the three of them.
one thing know one has mentioned is that the team are now gonna find out that fitz knew and faked the blood results i think he wil have some explaining to do
Not to mention that Mac said "Another one?" which means that this isn't the first one that they felt that day so maybe May was suspicious since Skye was in both places.
I think the big difference is that it is something personal. It's easy to separate yourself from the mission. It's harder to separate yourself from...yourself. This show, being about spies, deals with compartmentalization quite a bit.
It was going to come out at some point, though the fact that they will now know that it's not something that can be spread like a virus might help, though given the potential reactions from Jemma and Mack who knows.
Or that the Ultron tie ins will take up a few episodes limiting them to what they have. Also it depends on how you judge her story line, if you take the 2A or 1B as playing into her origin story they might be reluctant to carry it any further. Besides making earthquakes is kind of hard to hide.
At the beginning of the last episode, Skye's mother mentioned that after going through the transformation, every cell in a person's body and mind has changed....I just took that to mean that some things that once came naturally to Skye (like controlling her emotional reactions, etc.) maybe don't anymore. Considering that her power is something like causing major physical reactions, it makes sense that internally she is quite 'shaken up' too.
When they first announced Civil War, I felt the only way they were going to pull it off was with the help of Agents of SHIELD. I just knew that AOS would be the place where most of the gifted's would be introduced. With each new episode, I become more certain of that. Actually, last season I knew that they were going to do a Civil War plot line eventually the first time they mention the index. During the Marvel cinematic universe special last year, one of the top people at Marvel, I can't remember which one, referred to Agents of SHIELD as the Boardwalk that Phase 2 would be built on. That's starting to become really obvious.
Skye's Ihuman powers are very destructive. There is so much they can drag this. How much long do you think they would be oblivious about what's happenning around them and not connect the dots? It's freaking random earthquakes and she is shattering glasses around her.
Plus notice Mack says " another one" which means that before that scene Skye did "quake" and they noticed. Fitz and Skye can't cover this up for long which looking ridiculous.
If I counted right the US release date falls between episodes 19 and 20. The international release date happens a week earlier, but I assume they're probably going to synchronize the movie and the film for the US release date. So basically major repercussions could begin as early as episode 18. However, in the last episode did include Baron von Strucker's lackey that we last saw in the stinger for Winter Soldier. That was definitely a tie in to AoU.
Especially because the Playground is located somewhere in the DC Metro area. I've lived here nine years and we've had one earthquake that was noticeable. It's too unusual here for people not to notice that the cause is probably something out of the ordinary.
This as I mentioned in one of the other threads, you have highly trained spies, are we really to think that they won't notice abnormal earthquakes when that was a major feature of San Juan? The argument scene was lucky, anything more than that and it's just trying to avoid the subject.
Yeah, totally. I really thought it was going to be revealed right away on last episode, but they come up with a really clever way to postpone the revelation during the argument scene and later with Fitz backing her up. Which made me even more excited for next episode, but postponing more wouldn't be realistic at all. I really like the pace they have now.
I'd have to agree, if Skye's power was less noticable, I'd say something, but seriously, 1 more earthquake (which might have happened given Mack's comment) and its not credible for people to notice.
I know! Actually, it helps a little that it isn't his normal voice because then I would definitely only see Pete. Also helps that this character doesn't seem particularly goofy.
Of course, if this storyline was taking place on, say, Arrow or The Flash, it could be 10 times as long and all we'd hear from people is how it's Emmy award worthy writing.
This couldn't be Arrow. The producers haven't hyped the last 20 episodes as "the best episode we've ever made".
I understand that people enjoy the faster pace but I watch shows for the characters. Good character interaction and development is way more interesting to me than Mysterious Blind Guys, Time Traveling Speedsters, or Assassin DJs.
All that stuff is great, excluding Assassin DJs, but I'd rather see how the plot affects the characters instead of them just being pawns to move the plot forward. I accept that I am in the minority though.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Oh God, Skye (I'm going to be saying this a lot).
ReplyDeleteAnd the hell is up with Eddie McClintock's voice?
Abominations? Really? That's a bit much but I guess if I ran into Raina and saw what she's become, I'd be freaked out too.
ReplyDeleteIs anyone else struggling to see the video or is it just me? :(
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing Asgardians and Inhumans have had some run-ins that didn't end well.
ReplyDeletelol look at the lady with superpowers calling the other abominations. bitch should shut the hell up, Asgardians are no better.
ReplyDeleteThat's likely very true since inhumans already exist. This is just the first time SHIELD (and us viewers) encounter them.
ReplyDeleteThe guy called the others abominations. Is he a "bitch" ?
ReplyDeleteI think you're right.
ReplyDeleteRight?! What is up with that voice? and I'm going to have a lot of trouble taking him seriously because all I can se is Pete, lol!
ReplyDeleteI can't see it either, just get an E-online error page.
ReplyDeleteMe too ugh
ReplyDeleteIt played for me. I wonder if it's certain browsers. I used Google Chrome today.
ReplyDeleteAnyone have an alternate link for the video? I can't watch it and I can't find it on YouTube or at the original site.
ReplyDeleteI'm on Chrome and all I see is the E-Online error page : (
ReplyDelete"Oops! We Can't Find That Page" when trying to view this. It's the same even with chrome (both firefox and chrome are the latest versions).
ReplyDeleteLooks very cool but what happened to all of May's heart rate control and training. I know she's freaked out and understandably but all of that training couldn't have completely gone out the door.

ReplyDeleteIn one of the inhuman comics didn't the kree say they were made as weapons/infiltrators for the Kree?
ReplyDeleteShe does the scared look well, like how May is the first to catch it.
ReplyDeleteI don't read the comics so not sure. Sorry!
ReplyDeleteEveryone is confused and only Fitz is worried about Skye.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I can wait one more day after seeing that. I love the fact that the moment they sense the quake Fitz leaves to look for Skye. Also, May is the first one to realize about Skye, pretty sure she was suspicioius since the blood incident the other episode. And Coulson looks a little freak out/shocked/scared, doesn't he?
ReplyDeleteSeems to be geoblocked. Use something like Hola! to get around the geoblock.
ReplyDeleteWith no control of her powers it's not much of a surprise, think about it, she's standing in a room with her parental figures and two aliens being told she's a weapon that has to be destroyed, meanwhile she notices she's starting to quake, combined it could be like a panic attack feeding on itself... Hell if Sif is looking at you like that I'd bet even May might be a bit nervous.
ReplyDeleteDon't think so it worked in Ireland.
ReplyDeleteNot necessarily, could be he just doesn't know where she is and is hoping to calm her down (or be the voice of reason with the team)
ReplyDeleteI love that Fitz was out the door the moment he realised what was happening. I want to see more of his and Skye scenes.
ReplyDeleteFrom Australia, I get an E-online "can't find that page" error, but I can access it when I use Hola! to appear as though I'm browsing from the US.
ReplyDeleteAll I care about is the following:
ReplyDelete"Son of Coul, what is this?"
P.S. Can Marvel's YouTube channel stop being so darn lazy that they wait until the day the episode airs to upload its sneak peeks? This show needs all the promotional help it can get.

ReplyDeleteI don't think it is. I'm from Spain and for nearly an hour it said the video didn't exist, then I could see it and I was on chrome the whole time.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you on much of what you've said that with next to no understanding of her powers, there's little chance of her fully controlling them. ReplyDeleteFound a region free version that ABC just uploaded for everyone that lives outside the US: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5pnnEhrsHrs
ReplyDeleteYay, she called him Son of Coul!
ReplyDeleteI think he's definitely worried, probably hoping it's nothing.
ReplyDeleteAnd to be fair I think the entire scene in 2.10 with Cal and Coulson was showing that aspect.
ReplyDeleteStill locked for ireland anyway.
ReplyDeleteI wonder when in the episode this scene happens? I was hoping it would stay a secret for while longer. Love the way Fitz goes running. Skye is gonna need him.
ReplyDeleteCoulson's facial expression was...I can't put it in words...I know this episode will be my death...
ReplyDeleteRun Fitz! Save Skye!
ReplyDeleteThis one definitely works now
ReplyDeletehttps://twitter.com/AgentsofSHIELD/status/575014478275719168
Ugh curse these geo-blocked videos. I'm sure SpoilerTV will upload a region free one soon.
ReplyDeleteI saw it just fine here in SA.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to guess about 20 minutes in, long enough to set it up, but with enough time to play it out in the episode.
ReplyDeleteOMG....soooo can't wait...it's insane! :D my vision of what happens next: Skye answers "me" and seeing Sif charging towards her, May takes Skye's hand and they run, so she can hide Skye somewhere safe while she fixes the problem haha :D
ReplyDeleteps. can't see it here, but saw it on AoS FB page https://www.facebook.com/AgentsofShield ;)
Fitz get to Skye NOW!!! LOL Son of Coul
ReplyDeletethat's true
ReplyDeleteLOL
ReplyDeleteWell damn that took a drastic turn...
ReplyDeleteyep yuo don't play Sif and get away with it
ReplyDeletehopefully he can calm her down
ReplyDeleteNope, ABC are annoying tools whose videos are always geo-locked. Hopefully, it will be uploaded to Marvel's YouTube channel soon (for some reason, they always wait until the last minute to put the sneak peeks up there).
ReplyDeleteYeah that one is working for me.
ReplyDeleteLMAO I love Sif, btw when May said "Skye you want to talk to us" OMG this it. Can we be tommorow already?
ReplyDeleteLooking at the promo and maybe matching them up, I'm going with no, there's at least one clip of the windows shattering. Hope he paid the insurance this year.
ReplyDeleteDon't ever try to tell shippers that their ship isn't the single most important thing in the universe, let alone the show, and everything else must bow down to it. In other words, a character many people loved had been reduced to an "obstacle" because he got in the way of someone's precious ship (never mind that there was barely any indication of a possible Trip/Simmons romance in the first half of the season).
ReplyDeleteThink it's more likely she ends up the cell for a bit.
ReplyDeleteObviously not. Male characters can murder (see: Ward) or rape someone and still be cool as long as they're got a pretty face and abs. Female characters are bitches if they do anything except help kittens off trees and help old ladies cross the street.
ReplyDeleteYep. I encounter people who like to mock shippers a couple dozen times a day. I've pretty much lost all tolerance for them.
ReplyDeleteI admit that I ship almost everyone on this show but even I know that it's all just for fun and not all of them are going to be canon (ex. Skimmons, FitzWard before Ward's betrayal). The storyline and the development of the characters is the most important for me.

ReplyDeleteI thought it was something like that alright
ReplyDeleteMy sentiments exactly.Misogyny is alive and well it seems.
ReplyDeleteYou can ship it as a brother/sister dynamic because that's how I see it, Fitz running to protect and calm his baby sister.
ReplyDelete>Are they hoping to see Coulson and May get married
ReplyDeleteuhm... [heavy breathing] don't be silly... hee hee... no one... [nervous laughter] is hoping for that...

ReplyDeleteha!
ReplyDeleteFitz running to the rescue!!
ReplyDeleteone thing know one has mentioned is that the team are now gonna find out that fitz knew and faked the blood results i think he wil have some explaining to do
ReplyDeleteNot to mention that Mac said "Another one?" which means that this isn't the first one that they felt that day so maybe May was suspicious since Skye was in both places.
ReplyDeleteI really hate how rushed this all is because people are too damn impatient to let things play out.
ReplyDeleteI think the big difference is that it is something personal. It's easy to separate yourself from the mission. It's harder to separate yourself from...yourself. This show, being about spies, deals with compartmentalization quite a bit.
ReplyDeleteOr just to conflicted as to what it means. Half the room shaking with what Sif has said means he can't deny it.
ReplyDeleteGetting told that you are a weapon/abomination would do that I'd bet.
ReplyDeleteGood point, maybe there's been a few before this bit, or off camera. Given the power she's showed, it would be hard not to notice.
ReplyDeleteIt was going to come out at some point, though the fact that they will now know that it's not something that can be spread like a virus might help, though given the potential reactions from Jemma and Mack who knows.
ReplyDeleteThink he's going to be too late this time.
ReplyDeleteThe first one gave nothing... the second one gave too much and out of context...
ReplyDeleteOh well still super hyped for tomorrow!
My gut is telling me that they need to do this now because the inhuman stuff will play a role in AOU.
