I can understand why Sif would randomly attack someone, considering that her memory is lost, but I have to say - I'm starting to get sick of those unnecessary scenes of women beating up men on TV just to show how badass they are. It's not empowering, it only creates double standards (men hitting women = abusive, the reverse = awesome and badass). This guy wasn't threatening Sif in any way. Sure, he made the requisite sexist comment about how a woman shouldn't be out at night alone, and touched her for no reason which didn't show a lot of respect for personal space. But it's still not a justification for violence, and we all know full well that if the genders were reversed, everyone would complain about this scene. I just wish we wouldn't see this trope so often.
Now that I listened for the second time, I think we can agree it's americans actors speaking portuguese because they sure aren't portuguese born speakers. Like when the guy said "Epah... que é isso?", in Portugal we would say something like "Epah... que é aquilo". After Sif knocked the guy down on the beach the voices from the girl seemed a lot like Brazilian Portuguese.
Não acredito que estão discutindo o português de Portugal com o português do Brasil. Eu como brasileira escuto o português de Portugal, principalmente o sotaque. I do not believe they are discussing the Portuguese of Portugal with the Portuguese of Brazil. I listen Portuguese of Portugal, especially the accent.

No no guys, this is a good thing, in the past when they gave us sneak peeks that tell us nothing it's because everything else was too good for them too spoil! So excited for this episode :D
Really wish they'd focus more on the main characters more! I'm sick of all these extra people coming and going. Can we please get more with the established AoS characters?? -_-
Exactly, if this were to happen in reality with a person bleeding and carrying a sword coming out of the ocean I know I'd definitely be making head way in the opposite direction.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Whoa, SIf. This is going to end in disaster and I'm excited for it.
ReplyDeleteOh boy, that means trouble...
ReplyDeletesif is just a BAMF , can't wait !
ReplyDeleteTripp's death, inhumans with super-powers and now an asgardien with no memories of who she is. What's next?
ReplyDeleteDear mortal do not try to touch Lady Sif.
ReplyDeleteI was hoping for a bit from the team, but seeing Sif being a badass is good enough.

ReplyDeleteI'm Portuguese and that crap they're speaking is Portuguese from Brazil. Too bad the producers don't know the diference. :(
ReplyDeleteHow do you know they are not Brazilian tourists?
ReplyDeleteCan we get a scene where Simmons medically checks out Sif, and drools over her? Like she did for Mike Peterson.
ReplyDeleteBecause it's obvious they're American actors pretending to speak Portuguese...
ReplyDeleteThat guy got lucky. It could have been much worse.
ReplyDeleteReally I met plenty of Brazilians speaking English like that. So to me having Brazilians on the coast of the Motherland is not too far fetched.
ReplyDeleteI'm Brazillian and that sounded like European Portuguese to me. At the very least, a Portuguese accent.

ReplyDeleteRevelation that Barney the Dinosaur is just a really unlucky Inhuman?

São americanos a falar português. O acento é português de Portugal, mas é muito ruim.
ReplyDeleteThis scene is why South American actors should doing this scene not america actors
ReplyDeleteIf someone is bleeding and carrying a sword, you don't hit on them, you let them keep walking.
ReplyDeleteLol...I just wrote a long rant on my blog about this particular trope.
ReplyDeleteholy crap Sif! that warrior definitely did a number on you
ReplyDeleteyeah i expected the sneak peek about Sif instead of the team actually
ReplyDeletehuh you're actually right, and also even if her memory's gone she's still a hero shouldn't she act like one?
ReplyDeleteyou know i've never noticed this, do Asgardians heal fast?
ReplyDeleteAs far as sneak peeks go, that was weak and "meh".
ReplyDeleteI bet it was the episode's opener, but still....
Yes, remember the professor/berserker in season 1.
ReplyDeleteCoulson had to keep his heart pumping until his fast healing kicked in.
Concordo, é triste :(
ReplyDeleteAo menos podiam chamar portugueses a sério kk
ReplyDeleteohhh right! now i remember LOL, thanks
ReplyDeleteI know and that makes sense, I just was hoping. Not too long for it though.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure she'd be thrilled even with her memories of some random person grabbing her, there's also perhaps that she didn't know her strength.
ReplyDeleteIt literally tells us nothing we didn't already know from the synopsis. Lame.
ReplyDeleteI guess for this one they don't want to tease it too much, either that or we'll get another sneak peak tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteYeah, there are usually 2 sneak peeks per episode. For some reason, it always takes Marvel ages to upload them to their YouTube channel.
ReplyDeleteOh God! If that's true then I'm with Simmons in ending all the alien stuff.
ReplyDeleteI'm also Brazilian and yeah, it sounds like Brazilian Portuguese with an accent.
ReplyDeleteNo no guys, this is a good thing, in the past when they gave us sneak peeks that tell us nothing it's because everything else was too good for them too spoil! So excited for this episode :D
ReplyDeletethat's true, right now she kind of me reminds me of Jessi from Kyle XY and that's awesome
