  1. Nice job upsetting Skye, guys. And I understand why Mack's upset too but calm down. Damn!

    ReplyDelete
  2. Wow, this looks so intense. The team can't afford to be fracturing like this at the moment.

    ReplyDelete
  3. Well damn that got heated pretty quickly but it's understandable. The team has no idea what the hell is going on with Skye so it's all new to them. They've never dealt with something as big as one of their own getting superpowers firsthand.

    ReplyDelete
  4. OMG My heart raced while watching this sneak peek. I think that tommorow will be hard for me to focus on anything but AOS returns.

    ReplyDelete
  5. Is it bad that agree with Mack?

Also, lol at the blurred soda brand.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Oh boy...my heart is racing.
...the tension is rising....don't upset Skye, guys. Bad idea, very bad.
I understand Mack is upset, but don't blame Skye or Coulson. The work they do is dangerous and they know that, that's what they signed up for. And Tripp knew that, too. He died as a hero so don't take that away from him.

    ReplyDelete
  7. oooohhhhhh this is INTENSE! I can't wait, I can't wait.
And I'm glad someone is questioning the situation, but Skye hearing 'He traided his life for hers' is not gonna end well.

    ReplyDelete
  8. In terms of Mack, I think that it might be connected to what Bobbi and Mack are involved in. As for his comments, as if Furry never did a lot worse.

    ReplyDelete
  9. As if Furry ever explained everything, or didn't mess around with things that he didn't understand. Think this might have something to do with what Mack and Bobbi are up to.

    ReplyDelete
  10. I do understand where Mack is coming from but in that moment, them arguing like that will only end very badly for everyone. I think he's being a little naive at the moment about Hydra and their end game regarding that city. Coulson did have a one track mind about that alien writing but it couldn't be avoided.

    ReplyDelete
  11. One of the things I like about this scene is that it keeps in character with how Mack was in the comics.

The comics version of Alphonse Mackenzie questioned SHIELD's leadership and, more specifically, Fury's way of doing things and butted heads with him quite often.

He went on to write a whistleblower book on SHIELD and Nick Fury which completely ruined Fury's reputation and credibility on the Superhero comunity.

    ReplyDelete
  12. And once it was resolved, given that they knew Hydra was looking for it as well, what other choice did they have?

    ReplyDelete
  13. As S.H.I.E.L.D. agents, isn't it a bit late in the game to be miffed about what happened in the city after Loki, Thor and the Chitauri decimating a large portion of New York City?

    ReplyDelete
  14. You would think so, or even watching Iron Man in several of his actions. I don't really see why Mack has this problem.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Now Coulson is in Fury's shoes.

    ReplyDelete
  16. I like that their are different views from the Agents, its boring story telling when everyone agrees especially when it involves matters of life and death. Its natural Mack would feel less blind loyalty to Coulson and that Fitz would defend him.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I wonder will this be the first time the team sees Skye's power in action? It's going to be good seeing the response.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Holy sh!t! I can't wait.. there has been a shield shaped hole in my life without this show ha. One more day!

    ReplyDelete
  19. I'm starting to hate Mack and i don't want to see him if he acts like this!

    ReplyDelete
  20. Agreed. Mack has always been the one to doubt Coulson's authority ever since the beginning so this outburst coming from him shouldn't be all that surprising.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Yassss.....I love it.Lets see Skye in action!!

    ReplyDelete
  22. Historical_MaterialistMarch 2, 2015 at 5:31 PM

Coulson should just tell Daisy: look I know a guy that has some serious emotional control issues of his own. His name is Bruce. You should talk to him. Learn some his relaxation techniques.

    ReplyDelete
  23. It has been waaaay too long without this show in my life. I can't wait for tomorrow, and I hope we can get a Season 3! But seriously they should not upset Skye. She's going to turn into the Bruce of AOS and we know how that turned out, or at least the helicarrier does.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Yeah its not like this is out of character for Mack.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Seriously that Mac guy should shut it!!! They should have killed him instead of Tripp!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  26. Poor Skye. I'm not at all surprised by Mack's attitude given how he was about Coulson after 2x07. He didn't seem to have a problem with going to the city before they went there though. In fact the only one I remember questioning it was Skye.

    ReplyDelete
  27. For the love of God can we SKIP MONDAY PLEASE!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Well, Skye could have NOT gone down into the city, knowing they were about to blow it up and probably Raina with it. If she hadn't, Trip wouldn't have gone to rescue her and would still be alive.

I find it funny that Coulson is blaming Hydra for what happened to Trip when you really can't pin this one on them.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Trip was an unimportant, superfluous character. At least Mack actually does things.

    ReplyDelete
  30. From memory though, Skye couldn't know if the team had managed to set the charges nor how long the timers were set for. She was taken from the Bus without contacting them and I don't think Coulson told her that there were charges set just "Not to go down there".

    ReplyDelete
  31. As much as I like Coulson, I'm really glad someone is finally questioning his decisions. It would be boring if everyone was still following him blindly after everything that's happened. And he hasn't exactly been acting 100% rational since the Kree juice started effecting him; somebody really needed to point that out. Makes perfect sense for it to be Mack since he hasn't been on the team as long as the others. It's in keeping with his comic counterpart too.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Think of those not in the States, at best (and not quite "right" it's Wednesday before we can see it.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I have to wait till Friday. I'm gonna attempt the impossible and stay away from AoS related websites over the next three and a half days, just so I remain spoiler free.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Right, right... I was remembering wrong. Damn, three month hiatus. lol

Nevertheless, while Hydra may have been the cause of this, they weren't the only ones responsible. Coulson really needs to accept his share of the responsibility here. One of his men got killed under his command and good leaders own up to that.

    ReplyDelete
  35. After waiting this long, I'll be going the "not legal" route on Wednesday, Ireland hasn't even scheduled it yet (or showed Agent Carter).

    ReplyDelete
  36. I'm sure he will, or at least talk to somebody about it. On the other hand Mack shouldn't be going at him in a public setting, if he wanted to debate Coulson's decision tree it should have been with Coulson in his office.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I want to see the teams reactions...

    ReplyDelete
  38. Might be out of the show's budget, not too mention the whole telling the Avengers bit.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Why do I have the feeling that Mack will be a supporter of the Superhuman Registration Act (Civil War)?

    ReplyDelete
  40. True particularly as up until the very end as far as they knew the Diviner was a highly dangerous "WMD" that they knew HYDRA had in it's possession. What else could they do, just hope HYDRA don't figure out where the city is...

    ReplyDelete
  41. Tell you what, if you can give me one example, just one critical function that Trip performed on the team that couldn't have been done by someone else, one storyline where he was spotlighted and proved to be an integral character and not completely expendable, one instance where his character was even developed in any kind of substantial way, I will buy you a steak dinner.

A lot of people don't like hearing it, but if someone had to die, Trip was the logical one to go. Mack has been around for much less time and he's already developed more as a character than Trip ever did.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Apart from FitzSimmons, you can almost say the same about the others. Tripp wasn't the only one expandable on the team.

    ReplyDelete
  43. In Spain in a couple of hours premieres episode 9, which means this episode will air the 16th, so yeah, going the "not legal route" on Wednesday here too. I can't take the wait!

    ReplyDelete
  44. I think Coulson would also be for the registration act despite his love for Cash but now I can't tell.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Hey, from the flatscan's POV, superhuman registration makes a lot of sense, just so long as the people behind it aren't corrupt.

    ReplyDelete
  46. There's no way I could wait that long, the months have been long enough, and then the next week has Sif. I'm still waiting for the TV station to say when they are putting back on.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Seriously, they can't keep Coulson secret forever.

    ReplyDelete
  48. I would love a Bruce cameo but Mark Ruffalo is so damn busy these days.

    ReplyDelete
  49. I don't think Coulson would be, when you think that at least one part of Shield's job pre fall was hiding gifting people, he does know that letting everyone know identities and powers of people has the potential for Mob reactions

    ReplyDelete
  50. I don't think they've figured out how to do it. It's not happening on Avengers 2, maybe Fury will mention that he's not the Director anymore?

Either that or maybe if the rumour about Hawkeye bring in an episode?

    ReplyDelete
  51. Hawkeye on AoS would be beyond awesome.

    ReplyDelete
  52. so much tension, i hope for many more.. can't wait

    ReplyDelete
  53. Going to be interesting to see how the team react when they see Skye Quake. As for Mack, yeah I wonder is connected to what he and Bobbi are up to.

    ReplyDelete
  54. That could be just about where the sneak peak is being shown or something.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Royalties man... they're a bitch... always have some fake or greeked soda or cans in hand. That's my moto...

I bet they'll have CG'd the brand of the can for the episode though.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Yes so much tension , I just hope for many many more

    ReplyDelete
  57. And she's got pretty major Superpowers just to add to it, wonder if they are going to do anything like the other "improvements" Inhumans have or just stick with the powers (probable just powers given the budget)

    ReplyDelete
  58. Even if she wasn't Gifted now that's a really stupid thing to say to an agent that's just gone through losing a friend.

    ReplyDelete
  59. I do get a feeling that the CG for this clip isn't complete anyway. On of the screens on there that seems a bit off. So I wouldn't be surprised if this is the unfinished product.

    ReplyDelete
  60. I need all the Avengers to be on this show. (Clint & Natasha like NEED to be in there...)

Too damn bad that's just cost prohibiting.

    ReplyDelete
  61. I think you're confusing Tripp with Hunter...

    ReplyDelete
  62. Well that got uncomfortable pretty quickly...

    ReplyDelete
  63. Not really...

    Coulson -- leader.

May -- second in command, great fighter, flies the plane, Skye's S.O., Coulson's confidante.

Skye -- central character of the show, major character from the comics, computer expert, Inhuman, earthquake powers.

Bobbi -- great fighter, flies the plane, relationship storyline with Hunter, secret mission with Mack, major character from the comics.

Hunter -- great fighter, relationship storyline with Bobbi, source of comic relief, character from the comics.

Simmons -- team doctor, expert biologist, will-they-won't-they storyline with
    Fitz, possible brainwashing subplot.

Fitz -- team engineer, weapons designer, will-they-won't-they storyline with Simmons, continuing brain damage recovery subplot.

Mack -- team mechanic, only one who can help Fitz communicate, secret mission with Bobbi, character from the comics.

Koenigs -- source of comic relief, LMD(?) subplot.

Trip -- flies the plane (May and Bobbi can do that).
-- great fighter (May, Bobbi, Hunter, Coulson, and Skye are too).
-- medical training (Simmons surely has a lot more).
-- can fix the plane (so can Mack and Fitz).
-- has Howling Commando gadgets that come in handy occasionally

(Fitz/Mack/Simmons could most likely figure out how to get by
    without those easily enough).

And even if Trip did bring something indispensable to the table, the other characters have received far more attention and development, whereas Trip had remained static. Why kill one of the characters the writers were investing time into when they could kill the one they weren't and get the same result?

    ReplyDelete
  64. yeah and its also the contracts as well, when many of the actors signed up way back they probably didn't think to add a TV clause! I wonder if any of recent new MCU actors have options to be in the shows.

    ReplyDelete
  65. I agree. It's said in anger, but it's a terrible thing to say. It's not her fault. And they don't even know what happened there, and Skye does which only makes her more guilty in her eyes. But I'm with Mack on questioning Coulson.

    ReplyDelete
  66. I hope they do... If I were Kevin Feige I'd try to include something like that.

And you know with Jeremy and Robert having mentioned the show fairly recently, they are giving me hope, and I don't want to get my hopes up, but MAN! wouldn't it be great!

    ReplyDelete
  67. Hunter? The guy in the relationship storyline with Bobbi? The character from the comics? The guy the first two episodes of the season focused on? They guy who they teased may become involved in whatever Bobbi and Mack's secret is? That the guy you're talking about?

No, Hunter does plenty of stuff. Far more than Trip did, that's for sure.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Could you imagine RDJ being on the show... That would be truly EPIC!

    ReplyDelete
  69. Though he should be having the discussion in Private, not in public right in front of everyone else, and certainly not when the situation is so raw. And yeah I can imagine how this will impact Skye even more.

    ReplyDelete
  70. I really want Clint to turn up! He is the Avenger we have spent the least about of time with!

    ReplyDelete
  71. Could be, to me the audio seems a bit off when you are getting the view from inside the isolation area.

    ReplyDelete
  72. That's true and he would have the more emotional reaction given both the time he worked with Coulson and his involvement in Coulson's "death". That would be an intense episode.

    ReplyDelete
  73. *nods* And his character is the one who'd fit the best full time on the show.

Depending on what goes down in AoU I'm, subconsciously, holding out a bit he might be on next year in a semi regular capacity....

And as I have a feeling Clint and Natasha still don't know Coulson's alive, OH! the angst!

    ReplyDelete
  74. "watch it Mac" OMG #Philinda loveeeeeeeee

    ReplyDelete
  75. Be interesting to see Coulson's reaction when the chamber opened alright.

    ReplyDelete
  76. That would be cool, I could imagine the gadgets that the two would come up with.

    ReplyDelete
  77. I doubt given his other film commitments that he could give all that time. Also I think that might be intertwining the show and the movies too much. But who knows.

    ReplyDelete
  78. On a side note, I really really wonder if it picks up right after the mid season premiere left us, or are they all already back to the jet....

    ReplyDelete
  79. I'd die if we ever got a Tony/Fitz scene!

    ReplyDelete
  80. Well, I can't see the calm approach here. xD It happened in a heat of the moment, without thinking. I can't wait to see whole episode and how all this will play out.

    ReplyDelete
  81. Eh? I think you replied to the wrong person haha. I wasn't talking about Fitz in my original comment. I was talking about how Mack is always the person who never really appreciated Coulson's leadership.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Fitz was kind of trying to help Mack explain himself (in qualifying his statement), but I didn't pick up on him necessarily being on his side. Fitz was the first one to follow Coulson last Season, so I'd think he still has some lingering loyalty there.

    ReplyDelete
  83. Now I'm taking most of this info from IMDb (so obviously fists full of salt to be taken with this information) but:
With MI5 listed on there as being in post production (ie they've finished filming) the only thing he has coming up to shoot is the Bourne sequel.
And with Matt Damon on board for that his schedule I feel will be pretty decently divided.

And if the rumours are true and he is indeed in CA3 then that's gonna film now in April... and that's under the Marvel umbrella too. You know they make time for their own...

So his schedule is actually not that hectic for next year. Which might mean he has cleared his schedule for AoS.

And I'm purely using my deductive skills to speculate by grasping on straws, I'm aware, but let a girl dream would you! :P

    ReplyDelete
  84. Her name is Skye, not Daisy (as has been stated in multiple interviews about the midseason premiere). That is her name unless she says otherwise and people should use it.

    ReplyDelete
  85. Hunter is a plot ploy. He has relationships in the show sure, but he has a very one tone personality and is quite expendable as a character.
The time they spent at the beginning of the season introducing him, wasn't really worth while as far as I'm concerned, and his connection to Bobbi left me "meh".

Tripp had history in the MCU (even if it wasn't explored much, but I think that was a lost opportunity from TPTB) and as a character he was fun and layered. And I appreciated that his introduction to the show and the team was gradual. He earned his right to be there, just like everyone else who was there in S1.

Hunter was shoehorned in and we were expected to fawn over him...

  86. Historical_MaterialistMarch 2, 2015 at 9:29 PM

Sorry, I'm with Cal on this one. Daisy is the name her father gave her.

    ReplyDelete
  87. Dimitri TheodosakisMarch 2, 2015 at 9:34 PM

My Bet Mack Bobbi Anti Alien since Battle of New York aka Avenegers even more hating Alien since Midseason Finale

    ReplyDelete
  88. Yeah, no. Daisy is just her birth name. Skye is the name she chose for herself and we should respect that unless she says otherwise. She isn't going to start calling her Daisy just because that's the name she had for a few months. Life doesn't work that way.

She will most likely start using Quake as her superhero name somewhere down the line, though, and I can't wait for it.

    ReplyDelete
  89. Dimitri TheodosakisMarch 2, 2015 at 9:38 PM

This is liking first Time anyone from Shield going Within Skye Inhuman powers

    ReplyDelete
  90. I wonder how Coulson will react to the revelation that Skye is changed now and which side he'll choose in Civil War. My best guess is that he'll stand side by side with Cap, 'cause of his man crush on him. But he is also the Director of SHIELD, so....

    ReplyDelete
  91. I liked Trip but I agree. He is one character who's never had even a small semblance of a storyline, interesting ties to other characters or the mythology (a few references to his being the grandson of a Howling Commando don't cut it), or even that much of a personality. As sad as it was to lose him, it's preferable to the loss of almost any other character, because everyone else serves more of a function than he did.

    ReplyDelete
  92. Season 3 is a sure thing. The ratings aren't great but they certainly aren't cancellation-level bad, especially when you factor in the critical young male demo that AoS does well in. And we have to remember that AoS gets more leeway than other shows because Disney owns both ABC and Marvel, and AoS is an important part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe which nets Disney billions. So Disney isn't going to let ABC cancel the show so easily.

    ReplyDelete
  93. If you look at the new interview's there's this "mentors prove unfaithful", it also talks about how Coulson has to make hard chocies. Hope that doesn't mean that their relationship is going to break down.

    ReplyDelete
  94. Historical_MaterialistMarch 2, 2015 at 9:58 PM

Uh, yeah. Daisy is her birth name. Its part of the identity that she has spent the entire series agonizing to discover. Its the name her mother gave her who died so tragically because of their special heritage. Daisy's journey will take several turns as she moves to understanding, accepting and perfecting her ability. And when she's ready, the whole world will see who and what she is: Daisy the InHuman. The Avenger known as Quake.

    ReplyDelete
  95. Yup, Skye will be an Avenger (known as Quake) and will one day be Director of SHIELD. I can't wait for either of those things to happen.

    ReplyDelete
  96. Hypothetically speaking I wouldn't include myself in that POV, it doesn't make any sense to me. I'm on the side of Cap, I don't like that some people want to control people who are different than themself (that sounds more like Hydra to me).
The people behind it not being corrupt would be utopistic.

    ReplyDelete
  97. It might not be connected to their mission, but might give insight to the underlying motives/emotions that might be driving them. I doubt Coulson will pick up on it, not if there's also the leak to HYDRA along with Skye.

    ReplyDelete
  98. Yes and no, it's most likely not the first time that there's been a death on a mission that Mack has been involved in. Reacting like he did (particularly the comments about Trip) is something he knew any agent who'd just had a loss was going to be hurting.

    ReplyDelete
  99. I'd go with klutzy_girl, I can't see Skye moving away from "Skye" to Daisy anytime soon.

    ReplyDelete
  100. True, but this is going to be a massive ask, I think that it might play into Bobbi/Mack's thing. If they see what Fury would have considered an extremely dangerous Index asset still in the field, that might increase the tensions.

    ReplyDelete
  101. It makes even more sense when we consider that Mack and Bobbi are on their own little side-mission and possibly have an agenda that conflicts with Coulson's. Which makes me wonder, is Mack's visible hostility towards Coulson going to make the Son of Coul start to suspect that he and Bobbi are up to something? Hmmm... we have the potential for a lot of good tension there.

    ReplyDelete
  102. I meant it long-term. I think he will struggle with it at first, but she changed his opinion once before (see "The Hub").
And I hope that, too. I love their father/daughter relationship.

    ReplyDelete
  103. I don't understand why questioning Coulson's decisions is a reason for Mack to be hated. Would it be realistic if everyone always sang Koombaya and agreed with every single order Coulson gave them? Add the fact that Mack is pissed as hell because he just got possessed by aliens (the violation of having your body controlled by an outer force must be a traumatic experience) and his friend Trip died, and I find his outburst at Coulson more than understandable, whether I agree with him in this debate or not.

    ReplyDelete
  104. Agreed, something like the Act is open to abuse no matter the motives behind it, or the logic.

    ReplyDelete
  105. Agree, but fortunately Coulson isn't Fury. Fury said, Coulson is the heart of SHIELD and he would handle things differently than him.

    ReplyDelete
  106. Historical_MaterialistMarch 2, 2015 at 10:54 PM

At the end of the day it doesn't matter but watching Daisy's journey will be fun.

    ReplyDelete
  107. Sure, but for the experienced agents, it's going to be a change from Fury's way to Coulson's way, particularly in regards to something this big, and that's before they start finding out that it's just the tip of the iceberg. Certainly looking at the interviews, her powers are going to be a source of tensions/stressors on the teams relationships.

In the new interview on ComicbookResources, Gregg pointed out that this is different to the current heroes, it's not tech, or serums, or tech accidents, but truly powered people.

    ReplyDelete
  108. Agreed, but I hope that the core group will stick together. I think there will be a lot of tension and according to a recent interview, Fitz will keep a secret (he will be probably the first and only one at first who knows Skye's secret) from Simmons and when she'll find that out...geez.
I wonder how Ward will react when he finds out, 'cause he's complicit in that she has that power now. And with his experience how Hydra has handled gifted people. And there is also the fact that she shot him multiple times. But according to Chloe Bennet their paths won't cross for a while.

    ReplyDelete
  109. Well, I can't see them missing out on her powers from that lab scene, it would be fairly easy to make the connection to the rumbling to the earthquakes. Interesting Fitz keeping something from Simmons.
For Ward, honestly I'm hoping that he stays the wildcard, though he's also said they have something written for the back half. Another thing is how will she react to him for both forcing her into the situation and if anyone in the city got hurt as well.

    I want to watch now!!!

    ReplyDelete
  110. SHUT THE HELL UP YOU ALIEN RACIST!!!!!!! you know what SHIELD is, you didn't have to join and now you're whining like this is all new? get the hell out of here

    ReplyDelete
  111. "improvements"? what is that sound probie

    ReplyDelete
  112. that son of a bitch! can't believe i liked him, ugh

    ReplyDelete
  113. Aren't they meant to be stronger/heal faster/better reflexes etc?

    ReplyDelete
  114. Me too, I can't wait anymore and I'm looking forward to the cast's live tweet.
And I'm curious what's the next step on Ward's story arc.

    ReplyDelete
  115. Yep. That will be awesome!

    ReplyDelete
  116. So you're saying that if your son or daughter was in the same class with a kid who has powers they can't control and is a danger to the people around them, you WOULDN'T want some kind of system in place to register and deal with people like that? I'm not saying superhuman registration couldn't be abused, but there would be a lot of benefits to the concept as well.

    ReplyDelete
  117. Well, I completely disagree that Hunter has a one-tone personality. He acts like he only cares about money at first, but then he's shown to have a heart and cares about doing the right thing, and stays with SHIELD for reasons other than money. He acts like his ex was a "hell beast" but then is shown to still have a lot of feelings for her. He's also a unique character on the team in that he's the only one who doesn't come from a SHIELD background, (apart from Skye, who's kind of been indoctrinated at this point). He's a merc, who may not be entirely trustworthy, but who Coulson employs because he needs the manpower. Also, he's a snark machine, which I find entertaining. All this is the basis for an interesting character, and it makes him a lot more multi-faceted than Trip ever was.

Whether you like Hunter or not, you can't deny that he's been focused on more and developed more in a relatively short time than Trip has, meaning the writers have an investment in him and have plans for his character.

Trip COULD have been interesting, but the writers never bothered to explore him or flesh him out like they have with the other characters, making him, ultimately, the most expendable and the logical one to kill off if somebody had to go.

    ReplyDelete
  118. I had an investment in Tripp as a character because I grew to love him as he became a member of the team and the show. (And I'm fairly confident I'm not alone)

And yes Hunter has been focused on more since the season started, I won't deny that. But he hasn't been developed more, because he's not interesting enough. As much as they've tried to incorporate him in the show, all the "layers" they've tried to give him haven't touched me. Whether it's the writing or Nick Blood portrayal I don't know (possibly a combo of both) but I feel he's an indifferent as character, who is as expendable as anyone.

    Agree to disagree.

  119. You may have had an investment in Trip, other fans may have, but my point is that the writers didn't. Trip's importance was over-inflated by the fan community, when in actuality, he never really did anything important as a character like the others have.

And Hunter may not have been developed the most in the cast since the season started, but he certainly developed more than Trip did because Trip wasn't developed at all, which is the whole reason why he was expendable.

FTR, I like Hunter quite a lot. He's become one of my favorite characters actually. Agree to disagree.

    ReplyDelete
  120. Completely agreed I liked trip but if he had to die over other characters I'll take
If anything happened to Fitzsimmons damn I'd be a mess!

    ReplyDelete
  121. huh i thought they just had powers, so they have MORE than that?

    ReplyDelete
  122. Well for the record I don't like Hunter.
My argument with respect to the character is: they have tried to develop him since the season started. But everything they've done to make him fit, feels shoehorned in there. Being labeled the "wild card because he's a mercenary instead of a soldier, but has a heart of gold anyway". Being Bobbi's ex and offering that angsty personal conflict. He's the token "smartass". They've tried to put him in those roles yet he's still a bore who lacks substance. He hasn't lived up to the hype of how they've set up his character. And for me he is a superfluous character exactly because he has been set up to fill all these roles yet I still can't care to bother...

  123. I don't hate him because he is questioning Couslson's decisions, i hate him because he says that they should have just left Skye and everybody else to die and to just don't even try to help her. I also i don't like him, because he is still there questioning Coulson when he can at any point just leave SHIELD and be done with it.

    ReplyDelete
  124. According to the comics, I think so, but I doubt they'll do that for Skye anyway, otherwise I can just imagine the complaints.

    ReplyDelete
  125. I agree that he didn't go about it in the right way, and what he said was hurtful towards Skye. I guess I can just cut him some slack because of his obvious emotional state following what's happened.

    ReplyDelete
  126. Now they're gonna have to think twice before making her angry, because she can bury them, literally. But I think that Mack is more upset that the city messed with his head. Welcome to the club Mack.

    ReplyDelete
  127. I don't disagree that what he said was hurtful towards Skye, I just think it has to do with his emotional state at the moment. Skye puts herself in harm's way when she made the pretty irrational decision to go down to the tunnels, so I understand Mack's anger that someone else had to die saving her from the consequences of that. (At some point, everyone was talking over each other so it was hard to understand what they were saying, but I don't think Mack objected to saving Skye from Hydra's captivity - his problem was A) that they went to the alien city in the first place and B) that Trip had to go back down and dismantle the bombs because Skye was there.)

But when it comes to "he can just leave SHIELD", I can't agree at all. By that logic, Coulson is infallible and everyone must either blindly follow his orders at all times or leave. The organization should not be run like a dictatorship. Yes, Coulson is in charge and gets the final say, but others have the right to express their reservations - and he should consider those.

  128. Skye, her name is Skye

  129. her name is and always will be Skye

  130. they're still people and deserve the same respect as a "normal" person

  131. Unfortunately, I'll be well asleep by then, have to wait till Wednesday to "watch" it, still haven't found out when it's coming back on Irish tv.

  132. The issue with that is at the moment that Skye went down after Raina she had no idea what the others had done. She couldn't have known if they set charges, or what the timers were. Last she knew they were trying to get into the city, and the next is the attack on the Hydra base, she had no knowledge of how successful the team had been in destroying the city. For all she knew Raina could have carried out whatever was going to happen (again not that she knew) without any interference from Shield. Shield knew that Hydra was looking for the city and would hunt for it even if Shield stayed away and right up until the end they still thought the Obelisk was a WMD, as such it's not reasonable for Mack to complain about going after it first.

Mack is blaming her for not having knowledge that she couldn't have at the time that she made her decision, at best he should be arguing that Coulson should have ordered Trip out of the city, but then Coulson didn't order him in either. As for leaving because he disagrees, I agree it's not rational to suggest that, and his state of mind should be taken into account, but a long term agent should know that wasn't the time/place/manner to question Coulson's orders. Can't imagine Fury would take to kindly if he had given the order and it played out like it did, and then have Mack blowing up on him.

Her name is Daisy. She has gone by the name "Skye" in absence of her real name. I don't understand the fuss. Its not worth all of the back and forth.

    ReplyDelete
  134. First i have to say that i disagree completely with what you said about Skye. When we first started SHIELD, Skye didn't know what it meant to be a SHIELD Agent, she didn't know what was behind that word, she didn't know what sacrifices that meant. Now that she is an Agent, she is no longer a newbie. She is ready to give her life to save other, she is ready to do the work, also she never asked Tripp to come back for her, she was just doing what every other agent would do. If Mack is mad about that then he shouldn't be a SHIELD Agent, because after all they protect the world from what lies beneath the shadows, what is hidden from normal people and most importantly what is more dangerous than a robbery of a bank. What that means is that being an Agent of SHIELD means, that you and your fellow agents will have to risk their lives so that everybody else could live. Also Skye when she entered the tunnels she (if you remember) thought that this Obelisk will destroy life on Earth all life, not just the one in nearby city. So she was doing what SHIELD was created for to stop the destruction of life on Earth from unknown and mostly alien threads.
As for Tripp being killed he can't blame Skye at all. Tripp is a trained agent of SHIELD that means no one left behind no matter of the danger for him. Do you remember the first season of SHIELD, Ward and Fitz were suppose to die on the mission, yet May, Coulson, Skye and SImmons decided to go and get them.

As for the leaving SHIELD, i disagree also. If he doesn't like the way SHIELD works he should just leave. Yes it shouldn't be a dictatorship, but SHIELD is also the only organization that can protect Earth from that kind of threads. Also let me remind you that he is mad that they went after Hydra, to me that was a logical way of doing that. If Mack has a problem with going after Hydra he shouldn't be in there, he is mad because they went after Hydra, but Hydra is a very bad organization which will kill a lot of people and they have to stop it.

And as for conclusion Mack is acting like a newbie, not trained Agent of SHIELD, if Mack is trained agent he should know that sometimes people die and there is no one to blame other than the bad guys which made that threat possible.

  135. I don't work for Disney, Marvel or ABC so obviously I can't be 100% positive about stuff like this. However, as far as I can tell AoS is safe. I wish I could say the same about Agent Carter, but not only are its ratings lower than AoS', it's not as important to the MCU so I don't think Disney will be up in arms about it getting cancelled. AoS, though, is the flagship TV series of the MCU. It's too important to the storyline, and it would make Marvel look bad if it was cancelled after only 2 seasons. I think the ratings would have to sink a lot more for AoS to be on the chopping block.

    ReplyDelete
  136. I also think when you look at the 75th special they did last year, they made the point that AoS is there to tell more of the stories that can't be movies. That along with them stating that they don't want to do anymore "origin story" bits in the movies, it does point to them wanting to use AoS as that vehicle, prime example handing the Inhumans to AoS.

    ReplyDelete
  137. Me too. It's a shame. I'll have to get up early.

    ReplyDelete
  138. I'm debating with myself getting up early before work to watch it online, not sure I could wait until this time tomorrow here...

    ReplyDelete
  139. You've a good point, but the chance that it would be abused is at 90 %. The Human race has the liability to control things they don't understand and are afraid of (a real life example would be the NSA).
People without powers are equally a danger to others, Ward for example is very dangerous 'cause of his skill set or Skye's father, who is very very dangerous in his madness.

    ReplyDelete
  140. Agreed, I really like how they can use AoS to explore the corners of the MCU that the movies don't have time for, since they have to focus on the A-plots and big-scale action. Winter Soldier basically scratched the surface of the Hydra storyline, we got to see a lot more of it on the show. And now the Inhumans set-up. The show is an asset to the MCU in that sense. I do wish something could be done to improve its ratings, but unless they absolutely collapse, I still think its ultimate value to Marvel outweighs the cost.

    ReplyDelete
  141. I'm sick at the moment so I don't have to work tomorrow...I'll shut down my twitter so I won't get spoiled and I'll get up early so I'll be at the same time like the west coast.

    ReplyDelete
  142. True, you get much more of a sense of the scale of the threat. Just for example when Hill was on in Season 1 and basically said "After TWS, HYDRA is done". Whereas we see that's not even true, that HYDRA has an established base, Command and Control and combat forces. It adds depth to the MCU that even a 2 hour movie can't.

For example I like the comments from the Showrunners that because of AoS we won't get a 3-5 minute montage on learning to use her powers, we will get to see her dealing with that and everyone else dealing with it as well.

As for figures, who knows, but given the warchest Marvel has I think/hope as long as they are willing to commit the funds it will be around.

    ReplyDelete
  143. The showrunners have made it clear in interviews that it's Skye, her father calls her Daisy but she doesn't identify with that name.

    ReplyDelete
  144. because it's her name and you should respect that

    ReplyDelete
  145. Ward's not dangerous to Skye, but yeah just because someone's human doesn't make them any less dangerous maybe more

    ReplyDelete
  146. I agree completely. I wonder how the state of play will be when Ward and Skye will cross path again. And how he'll react when he'll find out what happend to her.

    ReplyDelete
  147. Historical_MaterialistMarch 3, 2015 at 10:27 PM

Daisy is just a character on a tv show. Let's not forget that.

    ReplyDelete
  148. Ward doesn't have to perform a critical function on the team since he's not on the team anymore. And he's far more interesting that way IMO.

    ReplyDelete
  149. And they didn't try to develop Trip at all. That's the point. You may not like Hunter, but you can't deny that at least the character is doing things, is involved in storylines, etc. Trip wasn't; Trip was just there and that's it. They could phase him right out for dramatic effect and not really lose anything as far as critical personnel are concerned. That's why Trip was expendable and Hunter isn't.
