    Correction: I used to think that princess gisla was going to be Bjorn's love interest, it seems that is going to be rollo's . That look in the promo. Althought, is an extreme 50 shades fall in love at first fight when you see a man killing people.

    The real rollo married with a french woman. Right?

    In the real history (legend) Rollo sacked Bayeux France. He saw Poppa (I guess they are calling her Gisla in the series). He thought she was pretty and kidnapped her. She was supposedly a teenage girl of maybe 13. He seems to have waited a while for her to grow up because there is a lag from when he kidnapped her and their son William(longsword) was born. Latter on he finds out that she's a relative of a powerful French Duke. History says, he had two other girls with her, but only the one son who would become Duke William of Normandy.

    There's a statue in France of Rollo and Poppa. Rollo was pretty old by the time he became father of William in his mid 40's. When he was raiding France he seems to be alone. Perhaps his wife and children died. There's a lag of about 8 years from the kidnapping of Poppa and the birth of William. William was born in Rollo's homeland (there's a dispute as to where that is) but his two other children were born in Normandy, so obviously Poppa went with him. So she would have been about 20 and he was over 40 when William was born.

    Thanks. I don't know about viking's story. But rollo and poppa's story seems like an interesting love story. Still believe that is gisla is going to be the mix between popa and gisel. Is going to be nice see the story in the tv show.

    I don't know, the writers might have to change the real story for the show because things were different then, and people don't understand it. A girls father pretty much told her, this is who you will marry and what you will do. That's not too far from being abducted. I think today's people will see the Rollo -Poppa story as a rape/abuse story. Plus, if someone's wife died, he pretty much didn't have a lot of choice except to take a much younger mate as all the women his age, would have a mate. (it's a different world now) unless there was a widow, and then her male relatives would tell her what to do. *first episode was pretty good*
