I like to see at least one episode before guessing at any predictions but anyway here goes.
ReplyDeleteBattle Creek
American Crime
Odyssey
The Messengers
Aquarius
and not from this list The Dig
I hope American Crime, Battle Creek, Wayward Pines and The Whispers are good...
ReplyDeleteBordertown. iZombie will do pretty good for The CW. Don't know how Messengers got that high on the list.
ReplyDeleteIf we were talking least well, I would say Battle Creek and any of the NBC comedies.
I would love Battle Creek and Odyssey to do well, their pilots were pretty good (with Odyssey standing out). Sadly, they are both scheduled in the Sunday 10 pm slot so I'm afraid they won't get great numbers.
ReplyDeleteAC and iZombie.
ReplyDeleteABC: American Crime
ReplyDeleteCBS: The Odd Couple
CW: iZombie
FOX: Bordertown
NBC: Heroes Reborn

ReplyDeleteBy groups:
Good bets for DOA shows : Battle Creek, Mr Robinson, Weird Loners, The Last Man on Earth, The Messengers, Wayward Pines
Could do okay-ish and even score a renewal but I am not expecting all that much : CSI Cyber, The Odd Couple, American Crime, Secrets and Lies, One Big Happy, Oddysey, Bordertown, iZombie (this being said, I am fully expecting one of these group to surprise and jump to the breakout potential group)
Breakout potential : A.D., Heroes Reborn
I honestly have no clue about The Whispers and Wives Club since those are ABC summer dramas and I don't know what the precedent is there other than Mistresses. Same goes for Aquarius on ABC.
I think the FOX comedies have an even worse chance than the NBC ones in this situation.
ReplyDeleteIf AD does as well as I am expecting, Odyssey actually has a decent slot though. AD will probably end up being NBC's best lead-in other than the voice and Sundays at 10pm in the spring when football is over and there isn't even the talking dead on isn't very competitive while still being okay viewed.
ReplyDeleteI hope so! Odyssey's pilot was terrific.
ReplyDeleteIsn't Wayward Pines broadcast in multiple countries at the same time? The guy from Empire is also in it, so if Fox promotes it during Empire it might not be so DOA.
ReplyDeleteOther than that, I pretty much agree with you!
I'm going to borrow Omabin's categorization of the potential shows. It's a very good idea for organization. A good percentage of these aren't scheduled yet, so a timeslot upgrade can improve its chances. A timeslot downgrade can ruin its chances.
ReplyDeleteGood bets for DOA shows: Battle Creek, The Whispers, Secrets and Lies, The Astronauts Wives Club, iZombie, Weird Loners, Last Man On Earth, The Messengers
Could do OK: CSI: Cyber, American Crime, Mr. Robinson, One Big Happy, Aquarius, Wayward Pines, Odyssey
Breakout Potential: A.D., Heroes: Reborn, Bordertown
Maybe, but to me no IZombie :P
ReplyDeleteI really hope The Odd Couple, American Crime, and Secrets and Lies end up awesome. They all have such promising casts and premises.
ReplyDeleteiZombie holds promise-Both Plot wise and also got the best slot possible.I'm not usre about any others mentioned here.
ReplyDeleteYeah, maybe it isn't DOA. I just have a hard time seeing a mystery thriller like that working on broadcast, seems like a cable thing to me. I will be watching though, just doesn't feel like a very popular thing. Besides, I am not sure going up against the blacklist and scandal finales is a very good night for a premiere
ReplyDeleteI don't see any show that is a definite renewal.
ReplyDeleteI think Amercian Crime, since it's going to be part of TGIT
ReplyDeleteProbably iZombie. If its massive promotion failed miserably, Pedovitz would probably do this

Aquarius is on NBC.
ReplyDeleteYeah that was what I meant, sorry. It was a typo I will fix it
ReplyDeleteNah, even NBC only sees six episodes worth of potential.
ReplyDeleteThat's the same order Weird Loners have I believe.
ReplyDeleteThe Messengers? Really?
ReplyDeleteThe premise is intriguing, but the show is shipped to a Friday slot on April. It will be a miracle if it fares well
But it would be super funny if iZombie failed and TM succeeded
ReplyDeleteIt would be hillarious, actually
ReplyDeleteWhat massive promotion? The only promotion i've seen for it is the same 30 second ad that they've been only airing on the cw and its not even a good one too. It had something to do with ptsd and very confusing as to what the show is about
ReplyDeleteImagine those phone calls
ReplyDelete'Hey... Remember that Friday show we practically cancelled before airing? Guess what, people seem to love it and we have to renew it instead of our so called next bit hit. PS You're fired'
From what I saw there are already three promos, few posters, promotional photos, interviews and weekly update on spoilers. In comparison with TM it's massive promotion.
ReplyDeleteZachary Levi in Heroes...it doesn't get any better!
ReplyDeleteBattle Creek.
ReplyDeleteI think Izombie, the Messengers, Heroes Reborn and CSI Cyber will do the best (the ones I picked coincidentally came out on top)
ReplyDeleteHahaha!
ReplyDeleteThat's an excellent question which has me totally baffled... I dunno really. It's always such a toss up with thee things.
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to make any predictions for Astronaut Wives Club when there's been zero promotion and very little information released on the show so far.
ReplyDeleteNetworks typically release their summer shows in late March. It also wouldn't make sense to start promoting it already since they still have spring stuff to premiere (OUAT 4B, Shield 2B, Secrets and Lies, American Crime, DWTS). It is way too early to premiere a summer show.
ReplyDeleteGood points. :D
ReplyDeleteJoanna Garcia Swisher was just cast in a new TV pilot. Sounds like Astronaut Wives Club is likely a one-time miniseries.
ReplyDeleteIZOMBIE BORDERTOWN AND THE WHISPERS
