Damon & Elena: I HATE those two. They were past their expiration date even before getting together. (I voted for them)
Leonard & Penny: No I love them. Hope they never break up again.
Bonnie & Jeremy: they were already over even before Jeremy left.
Ichabod & Katrina: They are certainly over now.
Eddie & Iris: It could be the WestAllen shipper in me talking but I never cared about those two as a couple. The only purpose of their relationship is to create a love triangle so it needs to end. Or give them something to do beside being lovey dovey in front of Barry.
Maggie & Gleen (The walking dead). The relationship between Maggie and Glenn bored me already. I really liked the Glenn from season 1 but since he's with Maggie he's become in a complete different character. He was a clever guy and he used to do the more riskiest things...but not anymore.
I liked Glenn and Maggie together and as separate characters actually they were my favorite characters, but they are so boring in S4+S5. One of them will probably not survive season finale. I am still mad that they killed wrong sister :(
Damon and Elena? Really? Don't you people know that is end game for TVD... They are going to stay together whether you like it or not... Only other option is that one of them died in the last season
I love Damon and Elena together, especially this season. It's been great for me, sorry it hasn't been for you. :( But if you are a Stefan and Elena fan then at least you got time with them together.
I was a big Stefan/Elena shipper, I adored them. But after Elena became a vampire she changed completely and I hated her so much so I don't want her to be with Stefan anymore. I'm a Stefan/Human Elena shipper. Now I'm an enthusiast Steroline shipper. But I will always cherish my Stelena memories.
I agree! There's absolutely no sense (not to mention continuity) in the way Bonnie & Jeremy's relationship was brought to a screeching halt. When TPTB want a romance to be over, it's over baby. On the other hand, Jeremy is hardly good enough for Bonnie so I'm not sorry that they ended, just about how the ending was handled. Unbelievability much?
I've said it before: I'm not sure that Damon & Elena are endgame. I still hold to the idea that they will not end up together. I think that Elena will leave and go her own way, but hopefully not because Damon dies. That would be an awful cliche. But there's still Season 7 to come and a lot could happen.
I've been saying for a long time now that TVD screwed up Elena's character so much, the only way to make her interesting again is to kill her off of TVD and resurrect her as a witch on The Originals, giving her more family- and redemption-oriented stories than love stories. It's Delena dragging on for so long that's ruining her character, and I was forced to decide to stop watching the show completely because of shippers harassing me. Nobody should have to put up with that over a TV show. I enjoy TO so much because those writers do what they feel makes the best story, and overly obsessed people have little to no influence.
I'm not ready to leave TVD behind; I want to know more. The characters have become too real to me to abandon them before the series ends. I don't need to agree with everything that happens on a TV show to watch it. (See my comments above about Bonnie and Jeremy.) Enough happens that I enjoy tremendously, such as episode 6-15. TVD will inevitably end anyway, perhaps as soon as the end of Season 7. BTW, I assume that you're still watching the show to be able to have an informed opinion.
Yeah, Jeremy being shown to not care about Bonnie enough to do anything about it, then care, then not care enough to leave was like - wtf? Given how affected he was shown to be last season and at the beginning of this one, it had me scratching my head.
Actually, I kind of think they're not - the show needs to go on for at least 1 1/2 more seasons, and the writers seem to have run out of stories for them. So it's probably the axe soon.
I respect your opinion Sarah and if you prefer to watch TO rather than TVD that's fine because it's your choice. I's just like to say that Elena is only one character on TVD. It has three main characters, maybe really only two, Stefan and Damon, but it is an ensemble show. If Elena was your favorite character and you're unhappy with the way she has been written, I understand. Personally, I can't give up on the show because of one character, even if I thought that Elena's character, as you think, has been "screwed up". BTW, I like TO also, but TVD was my first love, and I'm sure you know about first loves!
Delena and Beremy. At least the latter one is over for good. So,i pick Ichabod-Katrina as the 3rd choice.I didn't watch the finale of SH,so kindly don't spoil anything by replying.
I'm guessing Steven R McQueen may have offered his resignation from the show just as scripts for the second half of the season were in the process of completion and caused writers to rushly write in an exit story for him. That may have botched plans of a long-planned reconciliation between his character and Kat Graham's once her time in the Prison World is over.
Bonnie & Jeremy: I never wanted Bonnie to be lumped together with this annoying, whiny little idiot, Bonnie is far too good for someone like Jeremy and I'm so glad he's no longer part of the show.
Mary & Francis: I'm loving that we're now possibly witnessing the downfall of their relationship before he dies, it's not so much that they've past their expiration date, its more that Francis himself has. The way "fans" are turning on the show and Mary makes me glad that these two aren't all happy and lovey dovey together anymore because its unrealistic for the period that the show is set in. The sooner Francis dies, the sooner we'll return to what the show should be about - Mary. That said, I don't hate the pairing but I never got the love for it either.
I think many Frary fans seem overly invested to this pairing to the point that they want this historical ficiton TV drama to completely retcon real life events in order for Francis to live.
While I am a Frary shipper, I am not one to prevent the show from letting the story unfold as it happens just because I don't like it. Shows shouldn't even be servicing fans to the point of completely allowing themselves be dictated by what the "fans" want.
I've seen that happen on daytime soaps where the fine line between writing a good and potentially compelling story and pleasing a fanbase has been blurred beyond recognition.
With that said, I'm not giving up Reign as I enjoy it as it is, and most of all, I continue to enjoy Mary's journey which is hers to be told in her perspective above all else.
Whether people watch a show or not they still seem to want to express their opinions, which is their right. Viewership/ratings going up or down don't affect me because I don't follow them. I just keep watching or I wouldn't feel qualified to criticize or praise.
Its wonderfully refreshing to see a shipper who sees through it all and actually looks at the bigger picture. Thanks for that! I completely agree, shows should never pander to fans who hate on storylines or even who express so mcuh love for something that ti reaches a point of obsession at times.
The writers and creators of shows should stick by their vision of what they want their creation to be and it's clearly in a few shows over the last couple of years that certain shows have caved into pandering to their "fans", a very recent example having happened just this week but I won't go into that.
I'm glad you're standing by Reign, I haven't liked certain things that have happened in the show but I've stuck by it because I love everything else about it and I didn't just watch it for a particular ship, I watch the show for what it is - a story that is loosely based on the history of Mary, Queen of Scots, not "Frary" or any other ship, this is MARY's journey and no matter how dark it may get, theres a reason for it and its to get us to the end goal of her tragic end so everyone should sit down, stop whining and just enjoy the ride.
I only voted for Bonnie and Jeremy. +4 damn seasons of a boring ship was just too much. You have no idea how glad I am they're over. About Damon and Elena...i'm not sure. With this season ending, they'll be in a relationship as much Stefan and Elena were and since I tolerated SE for that long, I'm willing to give DE time too. At least they're not as boring as Beremy. They have some funny scenes sometimes. I don't see the rest of the shows mentioned.
I don't think Stefan wants to be with Elena anymore even if she were to become human again, which I don't see happening. That "ship" has sailed. But like you said, you have your memories. We're being led to believe that Stefan/Caroline is beginning to happen and I think it would be a good match because it has a basis in friendship. I just hope our emotions aren't being played with.
I'm annoyed that this early in the show's run, I'm already seeing comments like "MARY FROM SEASON 1 WOULDN'T DO THAT!", "THIS IS SO OUT OF CHARACTER, EVEN FOR SEASON 1 MARY", "THIS IS NOT THE MARY I KNEW FROM SEASON 1!".
I mean, come one people. Season 1 already came and went. Mary from Season 1 was naive, too trusting of people, clueless, and was certainly trying to keep it together as early as then because of her responsibilities as a queen among others by putting this invisible veil of innocence over herself that has since been torn away from her through the events of last season and this season with her assault being a mere icing of the cake.
Mary of season 2 is no longer as naive as she was before. She could barely trust anyone after the events of her assault, even her own ladies-in waiting. She felt comfort in the arms of another man, in contrary to the man she wed who, at the moment, cannot bear the thought that he was the reason why she was attacked.
She may be vulnerable but she has proven to be headstrong. And that is what Reign is all about.
The mantra of the show after all is this: "There are forces that conspire; forces of darkness, forces of the heart. Long may she reign!"
What a wonderfully written and completely accurate post James! I'm sick of seeing that Mary is "acting out of character" when she's really not, she's growing and changing to what she was always meant to become and the terrible events that have happened to her over the course of 37 episodes is barely the beginning of her journey.
I find it completely laughable that anyone would think that she'd come out of all of this being the same naive young girl who dreams that she and Francis will live happily ever after. She's seen what the world is capable of and she's adapting to that world in the only way she can. Her finding comfort in Conde is completely understandable and if the Frary shippers would take off their rose tinted glasses for one moment they would see why she has.
It's frustrating that people are abandoning the show because of this but then I guess they were never truly fans of it to begin with because they should have known it wouldn't end well for Francis and Mary and of course it would take a dark turn as we watch Mary grow as a character and a Queen. I'm just glad we are getting a Season 3 because at this rate, we probably wouldn't if it hadn't of already been renewed and that would be a terrible shame because there's so much more potential with this show.
Bonnie and Jeremy:they were extremely boring together. It's a couple that doesn't add anything new to the show. I mean, Bonnie is a great character but Jeremy is not. He was verty boring and I'm glad he's left the show. Ichabod and Katrina: I've only watched season 1 and I think they don't have chemistry. It's obvious they're not going to last together.
My vote goes to Jim and Barbara here, wish I could think of one that bugs me more, but I guess I don't have one.
Damon/Elena - Nah. They spent four years developing it and then killed the triangle, hopefully for good, in Season 5. I like their chemistry better than I liked Stefan and Elena's and the show has wisely taken multiple long breaks from the drama this year. As far as I'm concerned, this can go through to the series finale.
Eddie and Iris: I don't really care about these two, TBH. Neither character is of interest to me, but I don't feel like they get enough screentime to hate them.
Bonnie/Jeremy and Ichabod/Katrina: These are over, now. So who cares.
Jim and Barbara: Bad couple, we'll see how they react to that reception because Jim kind of has to marry her if they stick by comic-book lore.
Some of us still like certain parts. I used to not really care much about Bonnie but now I love her and she's probably the best written character right now. I watch for her and a few other things.
Just because I don't like Elena/Damon and a couple other plots doesn't mean I should give up watching completely.
Yes, I agree. I've never loved a not-couple before like this. They also have way more chemistry than Stefan/Caroline, imo. I still don't see why they needed to become a couple except for the fact that the writers wanted Stefan to have someone to date.
She is either going to end with Damon or with no one... But even if she ends up with no one, the only person she could ever possibly end with is Damon, which is why I don't understand people are voting for them... Just out of spite for the show I guess
Most of these aren't even together anymore. But I voted, Bonnie and Jeremy and Jim and Barbara.
Bonnie and Jeremy - My god! I was Waiting for the day. I'm glad Jeremy's gone and "out of her life." I want him to stay gone, and for her to find better.
Jim and Barbara - I hate everything she did to him and i love him with Lee. Barbara became such a HUGE disappoint.
Delena- Never!! They will never be expired for me, for so many reasons.
Ichabod and Katrina - They were doomed before season 1 ended. And she's dead now. Does that even count for them to be on this poll?? I say with her death she's reached her expired date. LOL (Drum roll)
Leonard and Penny - Hell no!! I'm ready for that wedding! They seem so comfortable. I don't even have a problem with it anymore. They been through a Iot, i'm waiting for the "I Do"
Eddie and Iris - I don't like them together at aIl. But i'll be fair, i think they have a little bit more to go. Like 3 episodes. I mean Iris hasn't figured out her feelings yet and she still cares for Eddie in her own way. I mean she's not standing around wishing Eddie were Barry, so w/e. They won't last long anyway.
I don't watch Reign, so i have no opinion on that couple, or non couple, w/e their situation is.
Other - Mike and Rachel (Suits) To be honest I never really liked them together because they're complete opposite: Rachel is the honest do-gooder who's struggling to become a lawyer while Mike just pretends he's one and gets to work with the best partners on the best cases. Not to mention that since they've moved in together, they've become quite boring. Where could this possibly go? What is Mike asks her hand or Rachel gets pregnant? Is she going to tell her parents she's planning a life with a fraud? The other couple that gets on my nerves a bit is Damon and Elena, especially when I heard that the writers were planning on showing the whole courtship period again this season. It's like every few episodes they're starting their story all over.
Yes, I waited all season for Daryl and Beth to reunite because they were awesome together. I wasn't even thinking of a romantic pairing but they would have been great friends, and then when finally they come into contact, she dies. I was really pissed, not to mention that thanks to the AMC promo image I knew she was dead before I saw the episode.
So did I. I love Howard and Bernie's relationship. I think Leonard and Penny's wedding will be adorable. I'm kinda hoping Amy catches the bouquet!! LOL Sheldon's reaction would be hilarious!
I also love Sheldon and Amy, their romantic moments are always so surprising, like the first time they kissed on the train or when Sheldon said "I love you too" before Amy managed to say it first. They are incredible, as are the actors of course.
BOTH those moments blew me away!!! They can be very sweet sometimes. Those moments easily went down as my favorite moment between them. I also loved when Amy would kiss him when she was overjoyed. (Like with the tiara) I wish we'd get those back. I'd really like a dance between them. That'd be nice.
But I swear, before this series is over, if Sheldon is still a virgin, iI'm gonna lose it! I'm kinda hoping they hook up at the wedding. If they don't, I'm ok with it, but it NEEDS to happen before the series comes to an end.
My bet is that they´ll hook up in the series finale haha they really need to do it already, maybe next season, they´re my favourite couple in the show, and Amy my favourite character, she´s the best
All of them (although I have never seen Reign so I could be wrong).
I voted for Bonnie/Jeremy (since Steven left the show and their relationship hasn't made sense since Season 4) & Other for Elijah/Hayley.
Katrina I think is dead, so they're done for good. I've been over Damon/Elena for a long time - I think Elena really needs to spend an entire season single and figure out what she really wants for herself.
I don't think so. I think he never planned on continuing past Season 6 when he contract was up and they let him go early so he could look for another job while shows are casting for pilots.
Kat Graham's schedule tends to get in the way though, which has been annoying me for the past few seasons. Writers could have found something organic to at least allow the two characters to end things between them while accommodating Steven's exit and Kat's off-days.
Nooo, I used to think that, (Just to be an ass) but I never believed that. They need to do it already, and if the writers actually DO wait til the finale (series) the entire fanbase will never trust/watch another show by TPTB ever again. They're my second favorite couple. First is Howard/Bernadette.
At first I didn't really like Stefan and Caroline together but they have definitely grown on me. I kinda liked her with Klaus (even tho I'm not a Klaus fan in any way, I can't even watch his show, but for some reason I can only tolerate him when he's with C. Maybe cause he's a little less of a *insert bad word* when he's around her) ;) lol. But seeing Stefan and Caroline together, and I really like how the writers are going at a slow steady pace with them,....that's a ship I can get on. :D
I agree, human Elena was more suited to Stefan, and she has changed a lot. Personally I find her one of the more annoying characters (sorry to her fans, I don't mean to be rude) but she does seem to be slightly less whiny lately. Thankfully! lol But that's just my opinion.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Damon & Elena: I HATE those two. They were past their expiration date even before getting together. (I voted for them)
ReplyDeleteLeonard & Penny: No I love them. Hope they never break up again.

ReplyDeleteThe Vampire Diaries as a whole is past its expiration date.
ReplyDeleteI'm agree that they killed the wrong sister. Beth wasn't one of my favorite characters but her death was pointless and just for shock value.
ReplyDeleteJim and Barbara. Her storyline this week was so WTF.
ReplyDeleteJohn and Marlena from Days. But that's for another discussion altogether. :)
ReplyDeleteI love Damon and Elena together, especially this season. It's been great for me, sorry it hasn't been for you. :( But if you are a Stefan and Elena fan then at least you got time with them together.

ReplyDeleteI knew Delena would win, but there are much worse. For me Bonnie & Jeremy and Ichabod & Katrina
ReplyDeleteFrancis & Mary (Reign) and Bonnie & Jeremy (TVD).
ReplyDeleteI'm not ready to leave TVD behind; I want to know more. The characters have become too real to me to abandon them before the series ends. ReplyDeleteMary said it best: "A queen but not a queen. A wife but not a wife..."
ReplyDeleteI can see Mary's struggle from within. And then there's Elizabeth, who's already making inroads without ever being seen yet.
Francis will have to wait. :D
John and Marlena from Days of our Lives. But that's for another discussion altogether. :)
ReplyDeleteAre you sure you haven't been time travelling. This is 2015 not 1995.
Bonnie and Jeremy:they were extremely boring together. It's a couple that doesn't add anything new to the show. I mean, Bonnie is a great character but Jeremy is not. He was verty boring and I'm glad he's left the show.
ReplyDeleteIchabod and Katrina: I've only watched season 1 and I think they don't have chemistry. It's obvious they're not going to last together.
They're still together on the show (sort of) hehehe. But my current obsession there is WIll-Paul-Sonny-Derrick.
ReplyDeleteMy vote goes to Jim and Barbara here, wish I could think of one that bugs me more, but I guess I don't have one.
ReplyDeleteDamon/Elena - Nah.
Jim and Barbara are not a couple anymore. My vote goes to Eddie and Iris.
ReplyDeleteOlivia and anyone! Its the part of the show that I hate
ReplyDeleteSome of us still like certain parts. I used to not really care much about Bonnie but now I love her and she's probably the best written character right now. I watch for her and a few other things.
ReplyDeleteJust because I don't like Elena/Damon and a couple other plots doesn't mean I should give up watching completely.
Yes, I agree. I've never loved a not-couple before like this. They also have way more chemistry than Stefan/Caroline, imo. I still don't see why they needed to become a couple except for the fact that the writers wanted Stefan to have someone to date.
ReplyDeleteShe is either going to end with Damon or with no one... But even if she ends up with no one, the only person she could ever possibly end with is Damon, which is why I don't understand people are voting for them... Just out of spite for the show I guess
ReplyDeleteI completely agree with every word you said!
ReplyDeleteIf they keep killing Delena like they've almost completely killed Stelena and Klaroline, the numbers might get even lower.
ReplyDeleteSadly that's true and that's the very reason the show needs to end after season 7.
ReplyDeleteHey,that's kajol-a famous indian actress in the ad.My personal favorite!
ReplyDeleteMost of these aren't even together anymore. But I voted, Bonnie and Jeremy and Jim and Barbara.
ReplyDeleteBonnie and Jeremy - My god!
We seem to agree on a lot. Nice.
ReplyDeleteOhhh!! You didn't watch the finale yet?? Pleaseee stay away from my comment. Do NOT read it. Just stay away from my name with this specific thread.
ReplyDeleteOther - Mike and Rachel (Suits)
ReplyDeleteTo be honest I never really liked them together because they're complete opposite: Rachel is the honest do-gooder who's struggling to become a lawyer while Mike just pretends he's one and gets to work with the best partners on the best cases.
I loved the Howard/Bernadette wedding and I'm really looking forward to the Penny/Leonard one. I hope it's soon!
ReplyDeleteYes, I waited all season for Daryl and Beth to reunite because they were awesome together. I wasn't even thinking of a romantic pairing but they would have been great friends, and then when finally they come into contact, she dies. I was really pissed, not to mention that thanks to the AMC promo image I knew she was dead before I saw the episode.
ReplyDeleteSo did I. I love Howard and Bernie's relationship. I think Leonard and Penny's wedding will be adorable. I'm kinda hoping Amy catches the bouquet!! LOL Sheldon's reaction would be hilarious!
ReplyDeleteI also love Sheldon and Amy, their romantic moments are always so surprising, like the first time they kissed on the train or when Sheldon said "I love you too" before Amy managed to say it first. They are incredible, as are the actors of course.
ReplyDeleteAgreed with every word, as usual ;)
ReplyDeleteBOTH those moments blew me away!!! They can be very sweet sometimes. Those moments easily went down as my favorite moment between them. I also loved when Amy would kiss him when she was overjoyed. (Like with the tiara) I wish we'd get those back. I'd really like a dance between them. That'd be nice.
ReplyDeleteBut I swear, before this series is over, if Sheldon is still a virgin, iI'm gonna lose it!
ReplyDeleteAll of them (although I have never seen Reign so I could be wrong).
ReplyDeleteI voted for Bonnie/Jeremy (since Steven left the show and their relationship hasn't made sense since Season 4) & Other for Elijah/Hayley.
ReplyDeleteI want Stefan/Damon and Elena/alone to be endgame.
ReplyDeleteKat Graham's schedule tends to get in the way though, which has been annoying me for the past few seasons. Writers could have found something organic to at least allow the two characters to end things between them while accommodating Steven's exit and Kat's off-days.
ReplyDeleteNooo, I used to think that, (Just to be an ass) but I never believed that. They need to do it already, and if the writers actually DO wait til the finale (series) the entire fanbase will never trust/watch another show by TPTB ever again. They're my second favorite couple. First is Howard/Bernadette.
ReplyDeleteAt first I didn't really like Stefan and Caroline together but they have definitely grown on me. :D
ReplyDeleteI agree, human Elena was more suited to Stefan, and she has changed a lot. Personally I find her one of the more annoying characters (sorry to her fans, I don't mean to be rude) but she does seem to be slightly less whiny lately. Thankfully! lol But that's just my opinion.
I agree. Both the characters and the actors are great together onscreen.
ReplyDeleteYou have the wrong TBBT couple. It is the Shamy that has gotten really old. Amy used to be her own person now she is just a Sheldon enabler.
ReplyDeleteThanks You for Speaking truth on this reign situation
ReplyDeletewow, i've never seen any of those shows except for about three episodes of the big bang theory. this makes me wonder what i've been missing!
ReplyDeleteBesides, Mike and Harvey are the real couple on that show. :D
ReplyDeleteCan I just say I love your picture? :D
