The 100 which in my opinion is one of the best apocalyptic shows. Plus the dearly missed Revolution. The only other show I watch on this list is Dominion.
To cheat a little bit I would pick Battlestar Galactica, which whilst not really in the genre (its more space sci-fi) does take place in the immediate aftermath of a nuclear attack which wipes out the 12 Colonies.
To pick something closer to Post-apocalyptic the Defiance is pretty cool, wish they would show more flashbacks to the war.
For dystopian, Black Mirror does a good job of a messed up future, as does Dollhouse.
The 100, Revolution and Continuum from those listed above, and I would add Battlestar Galactica, the final season of Fringe and the epitaphs from Dollhouse
From the list i picked: The Walking Dead, Continuum, and The 100. But Battlestar Galactica belongs on the list.
I watch The Last Ship and Dominion, and i like them a lot. Falling Skies is up and down, but i like it. Defiance had a much better season 2 than 1. Kept me from dropping it. Whereas i liked season 1 of Dark Angel better than season 2. I miss Revolution, and own Jericho (LOVE IT!!!).
The 100 and The Last Ship are my current favorites. From the list, I also loved Dark Angel but there are many dystopian shows I've really loved. It's probably my favorite genre.
The 100, Dark Angel, and Revolution for me. Three of my all-time favorite shows. Sadly, two ended after two seasons with huge cliffhangers. I binge re-watch them and get upset all over again because I love them. It's a vicious cycle. :) I also wanna add that Battlestar Galactica should be included. It may be sci-fi but it is still a post-apocalyptic/dystopian show and again, one of my favorites.
The 100, Walking Dead, and Z Nation. More people need to watch Z Nation, it really got good. It's not like Walking Dead, it's totally different. The Last Ship is okay.
I only really thought about BSG when I did a search for post-apocalyptic TV shows and it came up and then I realised it does make sense to be part of that genre considering how the show starts.
Black Mirror is great, its an anthology series so every episode is self contained and shows the dangers of modern technology set slightly in the future. Its very dark, often disturbing and yet can be pretty funny in a satirical way. Some episodes are better than others, my two personal favourites are Fifteen Million Merits and White Bear.
The 100!!!. TWD. & Revolution(although is had several problems it still had so much potential) & I seriously need Billy Burke&David Lyons back on my screen together :(
I voted for The 100, The Walking Dead and it was then a toss-up between the gizmos of Continuum or my love of the hilarity zombiefest of Z-Nation. I went for Continuum, i've been watching that a bit longer.
The 100 easily takes the top spot for me. From the list I also watch Dominion, Defiance, Continuum and The Last Ship. The Last Ship is another one of my top shows along with The 100.
Wow I just realized I watch/have watched a lot of depressing shows. I've seen all of the ones on the list and, except for Continuum, I liked all of them to varying degrees. My top 3 of the ones listed would be The Walking Dead, Dark Angel, and a tie with Jericho and Revolution.
I went with The 100 and Dominion since those are the only post-apocalyptic shows I watch as of late.
I only watched some of Defiance, I liked it but it wasn't my favorite. I have a love/hate relationship with Falling Skies. And everything else, I didn't/don't watch.
With how much I usually love the post-apocalypse genre, it's surprising how few shows with the theme I watch.
The Walking Dead: Stopped after 4 episodes in season 1 Revolution: Got bored post mid-season in season 2 Dark Angel: Missed it back when it aired, would love to try it if it was avalible to stream on Netflix.
Defiance: I'll get around to season 2 one of these days...
The 100 and 12 Monkeys. I know I only saw 4 episodes of 12 Monkeys but the show is growing on me. I totally LOVE IT. Still have to watch Dark Angel got the DVD's a year ago still haven't found time yet
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
I went for The 100, Falling Skies and The Walking Dead. I couldn't choose between them.
ReplyDeleteFrom the list The Walking Dead, The 100 and Revolution (Season 2) but I am severely missing out Battlestar Galactica in there.
ReplyDeleteRevolution, The 100 and The Walking Dead. I also like Dominion, Falling Skies and Dark Angel.
ReplyDeleteJericho, The Last Ship, and The Walking Dead.

ReplyDeleteThe 100 hands down. Then Dominion was a pleasant surprise. Disappointed by Revolution tho.

ReplyDeleteThe 100. I only watched the first season of Revolution but I really enjoyed it.
ReplyDeleteOn the list - The 100 and Dark Angel. Off the list - Battlestar Galactica. A lot of these I still have to watch, especially The Walking Dead.
ReplyDeleteThe Walking Dead and Defiance.
ReplyDeleteThe 100, Continuum and Dark Angel (too bad it ended after 2 seasons).
ReplyDeleteThe 100 The Walking Dead and Falling Skies Runner up Revolution Defiance
ReplyDeleteTo cheat a little bit I would pick Battlestar Galactica, which whilst not really in the genre (its more space sci-fi) does take place in the immediate aftermath of a nuclear attack which wipes out the 12 Colonies.

ReplyDeleteThe 100 and The Walking Dead :)
ReplyDeleteVoted for Continuum, The Walking Dead and The 100.
ReplyDeleteWill say though, The Last Ship's setting is also very good.
for me The 100 & The walking dead no doubt. But the walking dead has been weak lately imo
ReplyDeleteThe 100, Dark Angel, Revolution and The Last Ship. I tried the Walking Dead 3 times somehow I just can't get into it.
ReplyDeleteThe 100!

I honestly didn't even think of BSG in this genre. If I had, it would be at the top.
ReplyDeleteI haven't heard of Black MIrror until recently. Is it good?
There are quite a few I liked Jericho, Continuum, The Last Ship, Defiance, Dominion and the 100 in that order.
ReplyDeletethe 100 , the walking dead and Dark angel ( i miss this show so much)
ReplyDeleteI love all of them but TWD and The 100 are current favorites and I really miss Jericho.
ReplyDeleteJericho, Revolution and The Last Ship.
ReplyDeleteAnd i'm with Lou,BSG!
Oh, true, forgot about Fringe. Plus, everything in Redverse was pretty post-apocalyptic. I miss Fringe.
ReplyDeleteThe 100 and Revolution. I know Revolution was far from perfect but it was such a fun show.
ReplyDeleteSame, its on my long list of shows I need to rewatch.
ReplyDeleteI loved it and still wish Billy Burke and David Lyons were working on some project together. Loved Miles and Bass.
ReplyDeleteWalking Dead, Outcasts and The 100!
ReplyDeleteThe 100 and The Last Ship are my current favorites. From the list, I also loved Dark Angel but there are many dystopian shows I've really loved. It's probably my favorite genre.

ReplyDeleteThe 100!
ReplyDeleteThank you, I'm going to try it this weekend. I love finding new shows.
ReplyDeleteThe 100, Walking Dead, and Z Nation. More people need to watch Z Nation, it really got good. It's not like Walking Dead, it's totally different. The Last Ship is okay.
ReplyDeleteGreat great show.
ReplyDeleteTWD. I also like The 100; Miss Dark Angel

ReplyDeleteContinuum.
ReplyDeleteThe 100!!!. TWD. & Revolution(although is had several problems it still had so much potential) & I seriously need Billy Burke&David Lyons back on my screen together :(
ReplyDeleteTWD
ReplyDeleteIf only the 100 was as popular in real life as it is on this site
ReplyDeleteI voted for The 100, The Walking Dead and it was then a toss-up between the gizmos of Continuum or my love of the hilarity zombiefest of Z-Nation. I went for Continuum, i've been watching that a bit longer.
ReplyDeleteThe 100 easily takes the top spot for me. From the list I also watch Dominion, Defiance, Continuum and The Last Ship. The Last Ship is another one of my top shows along with The 100.
ReplyDeleteIt's very popular in my country, but I wish that counted.

The Walking Dead
Dark Angel
Defiance
I haven't seen the other show.

ReplyDeleteStill not over losing Revolution. :(((
