  1. Sort of. There's been shows that I watched that I never would admit to watching.

  2. Same here. I have some guilty pleasure shows that I never talk about with anyone.

  3. Yes on some guilty pleasure shows ahah

  4. Yes on both.
I have lied about watching Breaking Bad to look cooler with some classmates, and I also lied about not having watched my guilty pleasure Gossip Girl, which I loved on its first two seasons.
I'm sure I have done it in several other cases, but those are the examples that came to mind xD.

  5. I generally try to keep up-to-date with shows I don't watch so, if someone brings something up from it, I can engage in a brief conversation with them.

For example: I had a 20 minute conversation with a friend about the ramifications of Oliver Queen's fate in Arrow's mid-season finale without ever watching a single episode of Arrow! :D

  6. Same here. There are one or two shows that i don't talk about and they aren't covered here at Spoiler but if someone were to ask i wouldn't deny watching them..

  7. Hmmmm, honestly I don't remember but I don't think I had. I may avoid talking about my guilty pleasure shows but if someone asks me I don't think I'd deny it.

  8. This is a great question! I've done both!

I've actually lied about watching sports programs in their entirety when in reality I usually just go to ESPN to check the scores and highlights.

A real scenario of this was during the fall I would watch Scandal and HTGAWM instead of Thursday Night Football, but if friends asked me what I watched that night I would say football every time.

  9. Yeah some shows just don't come up. Like Hot in Cleveland for example. I like that show but I never talk about it because there's no place to talk about it in lol

  10. I'm still trying to figure out why anyone would lie about a TV show..weird.

  11. No and I really don't see the point about lying, its like when they produce lists of books people have lied about reading. Why lie? Who cares if you haven't watched so and so.

Yes, I used to badmouth Buffy the Vampire Slayer while it was a major guilty pleasure of mine.

  13. No and I've never understood "guilty pleasure," If it makes you happy, if it brings you pleasure, if no harm is being done to anyone, there should be nothing guilty about it. Why do people care so much about what others think? This question sets off a pet peeve of mine.

-If I do not sleep beside you
-If you do not help to pay my bills
-If you do not sign my paycheck
I do not care what you think as long as I am happy.

  14. No. I actually have laughed a lot of times when people are outraged that I watch "uncool" shows like TVD or Revolution.

I think this is a great question. Sometimes I feel like a lot of people in the internet (especially people who hate certain tv shows) lie about watching a tv show and just hate it because of dumb reasons like jumping on the hate bandwagon, the network, one of the actors, etc.

  15. Nope. It's pointless.I don't care about other people's opinion in this regard at all.

    ReplyDelete
  16. No xD I admit watching anything even when it's totally uncool xD

    ReplyDelete
  17. No, I'm used to liking the "Underdogs shows" and I don't really care if a show it's gonna make me look cool or like a "loser" ehehehe... If I like, I like it. If I don't, I don't. Simple as that. ;)

  18. I'm going to be honest here and say YES

    ReplyDelete
  19. Every show I watch is generally a pleasure :) Otherwise, why would I watch them?

The answer to your question is : No I have never lied.

  20. Great answer

  21. I agree with every word. Well said.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Never have. If I don't like a show, I don't watch it. And if I miss a show, I don't have a reason to lie about it.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Yeah, I watch shows, but I LIED about not watching them. Now I just don't care about other's opinions.

    ReplyDelete
  24. No. I watch all my shows proudly.

  25. I've sometimes lied about having tried out a show I actually didn't just to get people off my back about trying it out.

I know my type of show. If I'm not watching, I either don't want another show to watch or I absolutely know I won't like it/it's not my type. Some people can be so pushy about telling you to try out a show/that you're missing out even when you know you aren't.

As for lying about a guilty pleasure - no, I haven't. If someone asks if I watch it I'll say I do. Saying that, I won't be flashy about it. Outside of the fandom I'm not going to make everything about it or rant on and on. I'll sometimes defend it but normally if it's getting hate I just don't get in the conversation. All I care about is if my shows get good ratings or not - guilty pleasure or not.

  26. Ha, I'd just be like let's talk about something else. lol But I have a lot of shows. There is usually at least 1 show I can talk about with someone else because I watch it too.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I so know what that's like. Most of my favorite shows struggle to survive. I joined Twitter to help support a show many think is bad so yeah, IDC.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Is it just me or the people that are saying no are getting very defensive.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I'm just plain upfront if I haven't watched a show. Practically my whole college was on 'Breaking Bad mania' the last 2 yrs and people kept coming up to me to discuss the latest episode, even a few total strangers. I was like "sorry still didn't catch up with it" all year long which riled them up and kept nagging me all the time. Finally gave in and watched the last 2 seasons just so that I would be left in peace though I did enjoy it thoroughly, even though I'm not a big fan of dreary negative shows.

  30. Yes in both cases.
