Now that we've met Damon and Stefan's mother, what can you tease about the insanity she's going to bring?
I think the key word you just used was insanity. Here's a woman they thought was long dead, having died a totally natural, human death. And there she is, what, 65 years later than they thought she died in prison world. Which means she's either wrongly victimized, or entirely deserving of her incarceration. So those are questions that are going to be asked and will start to be delivered next [episode] when we get to know more about her.
How quickly will Damon loop in Stefan about their mother being in the prison world, and how is Stefan going to react to that?
Damon has to ask himself, what do I need to learn about this person before I tell my poor little brother that has mourned her since he was 10 that she might be an evil, evil person trapped in bad places. He's got a bit of a struggle at the top of the next episode trying to figure that out.
How much will we be seeing of Lily's time in this prison world? Will there be a bigger flashback episode or will it be bits and pieces over time?

So what bothers me about stefan and Caroline impending "realationship" is :

Season 2 - she becomes a vampire, he's a good teacher ( way better then his brother)
Season 3 - best friends
Season 4 - best friends
Season 5 - still best friends
Then we get to season 6 and there like suprise she's been in love with him for years - barf
Why did the writers have to do this, why couldn't they just stay best friends, why ruin the most stable realationship on there show.
I will not support them as a couple, ever.
Caroline can do better then Elenas left overs.
Stefan is in a desperate need of a storyline that does not involve Caroline. Isn't that his story? Why the hell is he reduced to a love interest only?

ReplyDeleteEveryone bitches about Enzo, but I don't see a compelling reason for Alaric, Jo, Matt, Tyler or Liv to continue to exist either. At least Enzo's storyline is almost certainly going to collide with the Salvatores new family drama.
I argued for years that Stefan needed a storyline that didn't center on Elena during the first four seasons, so this is actually nothing new.

They're not like "surprise she's been in love with him for years", or did you miss the arc in Season 5 where the developed those feelings? They slow-burned the hell out of this, so that's an awkward criticism to have.
ReplyDeleteConsidering Stefan's whole light-switch moment last night was "maybe slowly developing these feelings will lead to a healthier relationship", I think you've missed the point entirely.
That "best friends" thing didn't really exist. Paul Wesley and Candace Accola had like six scenes together throughout the entire third and fourth season. People liked the small handful of scenes they had in Season 2, but they literally went nowhere with that until they killed Stelena dead.
According to the actress that plays Lily she hasn't even met Paul yet and they are already filming 6x18 I have a feeling that this will mostly involve Damon and Elena

ReplyDeleteI hope Stefan is brought into the loop as soon as possible. What a shitty story line it would be if he is kept in the dark for multiple episodes. It would lessen the impact of their mother's return, if all she does is interact with only her elder son.

ReplyDeleteI saw this article earlier. So much can be done with Elena's character, but her story still has to revolve around the Delena relationship. I take comfort in the fact that I'm not alone in being disappointed with this show right now, since the final arc will revolve around Enzo, who most people wish would just get killed off already. The Kai and Bonnie thing seems way too predictable.

No I don't think so. She always praises his acting and directing on the show. Paul just has a sarcastic sense of humour. It doesn't always come across to the fans, but I don't think he's bitter. I actually think he might have asked for a lighter work load so he can promote his independent movies and producing.
ReplyDeleteIve been a fan of the, pairing up since that season 2 episode where he was trying to teach her how to hunt animals out in the forrest, they had adorable chemistry. Also, anyone who has ever been part of a decent relationship knows that the best ones ALWAYS start as a great friendship, beeter foundation than the passionate messy "true love" crap.
ReplyDeleteIt's kind of a running joke in the fandom. Like how no one hates Twilight more than Robert Pattinson, no one hates Vampire Diaries than Paul Wesley. There are a few instances where Paul says really questionable things about Julie, but as the other poster above said, it's probably just his sense of humour.

ReplyDeleteI have to say I think they handled Steroline perfectly. I have had a romantic grow out of close friendship. And it's way better than "obsessed at first sight" which is how most romances on this show start. I for one find it the most realistic romance they've ever had.

ReplyDeletePeople can forgive a character's lack of purpose on almost any show if they actually enjoy the character or they don't take up a lot of screen time. Enzo doesn't check either of those boxes.

I'm going with witch.Her husband probably faked her death and told the brothers that their mother was dead when in reality she wasn't.It's a long shot but i'm going with the possibility of her having a child out of wedlock theory.Every single clue is leading towards enzo.He probably found out and with the help of a bennet witch,trapped her in that dimension.

ReplyDeleteI understand that. Obviously, Enzo can't have a subplot with a brand new Salvatore and not have it link back to the brothers. The thing is, TVD could have easily integrated this new character into the show in any number of ways without any inclusion from Enzo. This simply has the appearance of purpose and nothing more. Enzo is just as useless as the rest but more reviled.

This feels like the final season. It looks like things are wrapping up for at least half of the characters. What could possibly happen that would generate good stories for another season? At this point I hope Alaric leaves with his wife and baby. Mystic Falls isn't safe for them anyway.

I honestly can't tell with Dark Caroline. My guess is actually 1 - 2 episodes only, but if they don't have any more story lines for Stefan and Caroline they might be just padding at this point. And dragging out Steroline till the finale.

ReplyDeleteI don't know......the way Paul is being treated reminds me of the way the Gossip Girl writers treated Penn Badgely, who also used to make very "honest" comments about the show. At least in Penn's case, they didn't completely sideline his character, but they also didn't give him the best edit, especially for someone who was supposed to be the lead. I don't know if Paul wanted less screen time, but I don't think that he's ever been one of Plec's favorites like Ian, Candace or Joseph Morgan are.

My feeling is that if Plec had given Kat a bigger role, then Kat probably would have gladly embraced it; I think that most actors generally welcome as much screen time as possible and Kat is probably pursuing other ventures because they're not giving her enough to do on the Vampire Diaries.

They've all filmed movies before and done it by working around their schedule, which is generally what all TV actors do. Nina D was just in that big cop comedy with Damon Wayans and she has far more screentime than Bonnie. Meaning that if the writers accommodated Kat's schedule, it's because they had nothing much in store for her to begin with.

Bonnie and Kai - Aw man I have missed their scenes! They have such great on screen chemistry. They're going to be a lot of fun. I love that Bonnie gets her own villain. He'll be such a challenge for her, and she'll be so annoyed, I love it! I also want to see Bonnie's struggle with her PTSD. (Caroline's guidance would be helpful right about now. Lol)
Stefan-I knew he'd blame himself. It really wasn't his fault. I blame Damon, for giving that terrible advice. I don't blame Stefan, b/c it would've been really unfair to Caroline if he said, "Hey let's give this relationship a shot" and he was unsure about it. So i liked that he took the time to think it through. And this had to have been three days after Liz's death. That's a lot of pressure, so i don't really blame him for taking his time. I just wish he could've figured it out just a tiny bit sooner. But he knows what he wants and he's definitely going to get her back. What the hell do they mean, "It won't be like we expect." What's that mean???? That was a red flag. I won't deny that one . ne has me a little nervous.
Caroline no humanity - I swear this will be fun. Idc what anyone says, i'm going to enjoy this fiesty Caroline. It's cool for me b/c we've never seen her "evil" But she can kick ass, that we've seen, and that iI've always highly enjoyed! I liked when she had her little snapping moments, so to see that full throttle will be fun. She's always had so much control I want to see her let loose. And the funny thing is, I think she'll try to have some control over her not control. Lol I just think it'll be funny. But again. TWO EPISODES! (Three the worse then cut it) Do NOT drag this out. She can let off a little steam and come on back to reality.
Jolaric- Don't care for them...but i'm happy for Ric. Lol I can't wait til he tells Damon. HAHAHA! Damon's reaction will be hilarious. Awww and he's going to be the best man. At the wedding, i hope we get another Steroline dance. We have one every season, and we haven't had one this season, i'm getting disappointed over that. Speaking of....
Steroline- "It's a much more grown-up way of looking at a relationship. And it's a relationship we often don't get to explore on these types of shows." WHICH IS WHY IT'S GOING TO BE PERFECT!!! it's gonna be different, SO SO DIFFERENT!! They WILL be happy, once the storm dies down. They'll be smiling, and joking, and laughing, and kissing, and hugging, and have cute little dates!! Ya know, with some blood mixed in there somewhere. GAH!!! So excited!
Matt and Tyler- It just makes sense. I like it. I want happiness for Matty blue blue. Tyler OTOH, i want gone. But their dynamic brings me back to season 1 (w/o Tyler being a dick) so w/e. Cool for them.
Jeremy - He's gone, keep him gone. Bonnie can find better.
Delena - Awwww, can't wait for that convo. It'll be different now that Elena doesn't have the memories (Ughh, I seriously don't think I'll ever let go of that. Not this season anyway) they're still my OTP, so that little bit made me smile.
I'm really excited for everything. Idr the last time i was this excited for everything on the show. (Again except Enzo) Damon, Stefan, Lily, Bonnie, Matt, Caroline, Alaric, Kai. I'm so into everyone's storylines right now it's crazy.

ReplyDeleteNot really. Unlike most of the people I actually still kinda like Elena (used to be a Delena too). And I agree that we need to close Delena first, BUT... I want Damon to deliberately choose Bonnie over Elena! For once, at least for this one time, Bonnie deserves to be the one, not somebody's consolation prize, not a second choice, but THE choice. And I want her to know it. That is actually one of the reasons why I think Bamon should happen, because Bonnie is the only one who truly deserves Damon and he is the only one who truly deserves her...
ReplyDeleteBtw had a strange thought earlier today - you know how Stefan told Damon that not all true love has to go the extremely passionate, psychotic way they experienced it so far and that love built in friendship may even be better than that? Damon seemed like he never thought about it that way before... So... Bamon foreshadowing much? :D I know, I know, I'm probably just seeing things but... It felt like Damon never experienced/thought about this kind of more stable/mature love. And we know that Bamon would be just that...

Caroline is going to be bambi with fans - this is going to be fun - look out Elena because Caroline Karma is headed your way. I kinda have to stick up for my guy Damon - not sure Stefan's timing was the best for some brotherly advice - but Damon was honest with Stefan which might have been exactly what Stefan need to get his ass off the fence and decide how he feels about this girl. I find it so interesting that everyone around him could see it but he can't - he needs to stop carrying around all that baggage from past relationships. They really are going to be great for each other. Elena/Damon / Bonnie - it is going to be great watching this group try and reign in Caroline - hopefully they can get to her before our new "let's be cops" duo Tyler/Matt put on their badges. So Jo is a doctor and she got pregnant - I think that is a bit irresponsible - did her witch powers drain the battery on her birth control? Strange...and Ric - he has know Jo for what 6 mths and already a wedding? Wow, I have never seen this show move so quickly with some of these story line's unless these actors are leaving the show for bigger / better opportunities. Not sure I am a big fan of all these prison worlds - let's wait and see. Enzo - now that is one story line they seem to be taking the sweet time in developing. Damon /Elena - I am just enjoying their relationship this season it has been great - but I am with you - she needs her memories. Damon / Bonnie - I loved her reunion. I wished Damon had a great reunion with Elena when he returned - I hope that is still coming. ReplyDeletewell the thing about lily salvatore is that, she was put in the prison world 65 yrs after her supposed death. why hasn't she aged ? do witches age differently or something? coz bonnie's grams aged the same as any mortal. Also, the 'dream' little stefan had of his mother coming as an angel to tell him she's ok, i think that really happened, she went to him to give him some peace or whatever..but not to damon coz damon was all grown up...so i guess she faked her death ?? only to end up in the prison world 65 yrs later..so what conspired in that 65 yr timeline will determine how bad or misunderstood a person she really is .. I'm going with bad to the bone.

ReplyDeleteWhy not season 7? They needed just about half a season to get Bonnie and Damon from being practically enemies to best friends. And imho Bonnie is already in love with Damon, which will somehow show even this season, I mean it's not only the way she thinks/speaks about him, how he was the person who she wanted to see first etc., but even the subtle things like her picking up a lot from his personality, wearing his clothes, drinking his bourbon (this episode)... And she rather stayed in the Salvatore house even when she was all alone, than going to her family's house..

ReplyDeletenope, still think its too soon for season 7... besides, they won't end the show with 2 healthy relationships - this is TVD, they will hv one dramatic angsty crazy one - delena and one healthy one - steroline.. at least thats wat i think. If it were up to julie, there would be a season 8. she pretty much said she would like to continue for as long as she can, provided she has the actors. but don't think paul will stay beyond season7. actually I'm sure he won't. so we might wrap up steroline in season 7 n hv them sail into the sunset, leave mystic falls behind and if the rest of the cast agree to stay, then the storyline will continue with them and additional cast members.

ReplyDeleteI knowwww! It's terrible, I can't help it, I'm sorry. "I kinda have to stick up for my guy Damon" Let me inform you on something honey....Damon is MY GUY! Okkk??? You got that?? Lol Damon is mine, he has always been mine, he will always be mine. I'm very biased when it comes to Damon. HOWEVER; when I feel he's wrong, I do call him out on it. And Idt for one second through this entire 6 yr run, i've ever said, "I blame Damon"....(wow took me. 6 Yrs to say that. And actually stick up for Stefan, or rather say Stefan was right, and Damon was wrong. I have sticking up for Stefan before, but never against Damon. Color me surprised, what a difference 6 yrs makes). But in this specific scenario. I will say Damon gave him terrible advice. Stefan's only been in love twice ( as has Damon) and they've both gone horribly wrong each time. Who's he to tell Stefan, if the kiss wasn't out of this world, it's not "meant to be?" If anything (the kiss was perfect and out of this world btw) that kiss was a "blessing in disguise". Stefan's right, his relationship with Caroline will be what he's always wanted and more! There are different types of love, and Damon wasn't thinking about that. (Which I think he should've) He just gave a quick (sorta honest) opinion, and tried to seal it. Not intentionally, but that's what happened. I'm GLAD Stefan told him he was wrong and realized it for himself sometimes that's what it takes. And iI'm really not surprised Stefan didn't see Caroline's affections. For so many reasons..but one major reason is...guys are stupid! Hahahaha, it's as simple as that. He's one of the stupid ones. LOL So I let that slide long time ago.

I feel one major reason caroline switches it off is because she genuinely believes that she won't become a 'raging bitch' like elena. maybe if she does go off the deep end and comes close to killing someone, she will pull herself back, coz i think emotions on or off, caroline has a rigid sense of right and wrong that goes beyond her feelings.. its like ingrained in her psyche.. maybe I'm asking for too much coz i love caroline too much..but it would be interesting to see if she can pull herself out..

ReplyDeleteCaroline won't want any kind of revenge because that would require her to have feelings. The point of flipping the switch was to turn the feelings off. Caroline will definitely torture someone, but it could easily be someone random - or someone she knows - who is unlucky enough to be in her path when she gets a whim to torture somebody. Let's just hope it isn't Jo. It would be REALLY bad if this goes on for so long that Caroline ends up killing Elena. Nobody really established in a concrete way what would happen if ND didn't renew her contract and the others did, and stories are moving in a direction so that Candice Accola could become the star of the show soon, with Caroline as the lead character. They said someone was supposed to be a ghost in the series ending that JP and KW came up with. I wouldn't be surprised if it ends with too much Salvatore-fueled drama somehow getting Elena killed, and Elena will have to somehow get a message from wherever she ends up (not the Other Side, obviously) forgiving everyone and saying her goodbyes. That's really the only way this can end, the way things are going now. The odds are stacked against Elena surviving the longer she stays around the Salvatore brothers. She can honestly say that her mother (Isobel) warned her.

(I'm not even going to touch that other endless debate, been through that so many times, and my answer will never change). I have no doubt Caroline won't say anything she's not thinking. And i'm giving the credit to Matt, with Elena's return. It was him that brought her back. (although Damon's plan). I still feel it'll be Stefan or Bonnie. Everyone else, there's no chance in hell. lol Not at all. I would say slightly Damon, b/c of his bond to Liz, but that theory is so far fetched i myself can't even believe it. LOL

And support for Bamon has seemed off for me for a while now. At first I thought it was only because the pairing hasn't really started yet, but now I can see the element of Elena hatred involved. I wish I didn't though because at the moment it's giving me unpleasant feels.
As for Plec, who knows? I used to think Delena wouldn't happen, then it did. Most people thought Steroline wouldn't happen, then it did. There's definitely been Bamon baiting this season, so who knows what the long term plan is?

But he'll have no effect on her whatsoever. It really does boil down to Stefan and Bonnie. Tyler would fail quick. Matt would have a better chance than Tyler. Elena definitelyyyy not. She'd be the last one i'd expect. Like the very last. The BEST chance would be herself, if not Stefan and/or Bonnie. I'm dead set on them.

ReplyDeleteThe entirety of Damon's progress as a character for 5 1/2 years has been about him loving Elena. Sure, the writers might make him stop just because, but they've never done so on this series.
Look at how much work it took to make Elena switch from Stefan to Damon. And then a supernatural twist with the sire bond.
So like i said further down in the thread - there would need to be a big plot change. I just can't figure out what it might be. Other than human Elena, I have zero ideas.
Since a few episodes before Damon was all for Steroline, I think the writers wanted to prove to the viewers that Caroline is Stefan's choice, as in he's not being talked into it by others. Imo, that's why the writers had Damon say that.

ReplyDeleteTrue. Well, I like the idea of a human Elena, even for just Elena's sake - Julie keeps saying how Elena has grown into a strong, independent woman but is it really so? Anytime something happens somebody has to save her and pretty much all her plots and most of decisions are defined by her relationships... Maybe it's just my personal experience speaking but I feel that if she wants to be really strong and independent, she could use some alone time to figure out who she really is and what she wants, not only speculate about which part is her personality, which part is her vampire self and then make ad-hoc decisions because of her relationships anyway...
ReplyDeleteAnd it surprised me when they recently let Damon state that he really doesn't think that she would be with him if she was still human, i.e. that the choice was more about her being a vampire than her personality alone. Isn't it kinda sad for a relationship that is supposed to be true love and potential endgame? I used to ship delena once, used to ship it a lot, it's just I feel like staying in this relationship is not very good for neither Elena or Damon. And that there is virtually nowhere for delena to grow from here - IRL they might have some sort of a calm, steady relationship now but this is TV and what kind of a drama can they pull with them now without constantly giving them more and more crazy "obstacles" and repeated cycles of breakups and makeups?
Besides I feel like that human Elena could be just that kind of a strong storyline next seasons could use...

And Bonnie is so often treated like a third wheel, a plot device her friends use to save the day, not a person with her own feelings, wishes and worth - it's agonizing.
ReplyDeleteWhat I would really love to go down is the Bamon friendship naturally deepening, to a point where there might be a completely spontaneous kiss between the two with both of them feeling confused and guilty afterwards, but it would get Damon re-think everything... which would eventually lead to him and Elena having an honest talk about their relationship and that it might be best for both of them to end it and find out who they really are and what they want. Which would open up doors for more development of Bamon... :)

ReplyDeleteYa know..this is why I cant get behind the SC "romance".So we've been friends all through the series and Care has apparently loved or been in love with Stefan since the beginning of time yet,Stefan isnt sure what he feels for her.I dont know of anyone else but why do the writers push these types of ships that have the women as insecure twits?Id prefer a ship where the guy knows from the outset what he feels for me and actually describe to others what he feels for me.Stef shouldnt have to go to Damon asking abt it to verify his feelings.Even Damon knew what he felt for Elena(hate that pairing btw) and didnt have to struggle with any feelings although Im getting a hint that Bamon is going to cause some issues.Why is Care asking Stef what is this that they have???? ReplyDeleteYes...in the majority of TV romances or love triangles, the guys are usually absolutely certain about their love, whereas it takes the females a while to see it. Somehow it's easier for us to accept that a female might be uncertain in the beginning, but when it happens with a guy, it's more implausible. Why is that? If Elena had been a guy, then she would have been perceived as a total prick for stringing along both Damon and Stefan at different times. I think that it took Stefan a while to realize his feelings because he was still hurting from his breakup with Elena, who was supposedly the love of his life and he probably wasn't in the frame of mind to realize that he could find someone that he cared about just as much. To me, it seems like a natural development.

ReplyDeleteDuring Stefan's underwater scare, Caroline was still dating Tyler and Stefan wasn't on her romantic radar. Also, that incident occurred right after Elena chose Damon over Stefan, so people just assumed that Stefan had left town because of it. Before Elena became a vampire, I remember, both Damon and Stefan saying that they would leave town if Elena chose the other brother. People didn't go looking for Stefan because they assumed that he didn't want to be found.
ReplyDeleteActually, I'm liking Elena very much right now. Right now, she's the best version of her she's ever been and they should keep her that way imo. She's the strongest and most independent she's ever been. On her scale, that is. You say to be strong and independent you need some time alone, but then you say you want Bonnie to get validation by being chosen by a guy. Come on, support Bamon because they are cute and maybe snarky, but don't make up reasons against Delena that apply to Bonnie too ;)
ReplyDeleteThe Damon vs. human Elena isn't about "true love" - it's about him wanting the best for her. This is the biggest point of Damon's development this season - that for all his selfishness, he finally achieved true selflessness for the person he loves - putting her happiness above his own, even if that means his own misery. So if her human self would be "better", he'd want that for her.
That said, I agree about Delena - I can't come up with more angst/drama for them. They've reached the cute stable couple stage, and while this is great for them, I'm not being entertained.
Human Elena doesn't make sense to me, because that would be a regression of a character, instead of progression, but it might be the writers' only choice, so I'm willing to suspend my disbelief.

Elena - Damon - Bonnie.
So basically, Elena = Damon in those equations, Stefan = Elena, Damon = Bonnie. The difference is, Stefan and Damon were already in a contest, already had fought over a woman, hated each other. Elena and Bonnie are best friends, this is very different.
And you just did it again - you basically said you want Damon to cheat on Elena with Bonnie and for Bonnie to be okay with that. You say you care for Bonnie, but that's what you want for her - to be the slutty, boyfriend stealing friend? To have that forever on her conscience? Let Delena break up first, then progress to Bamon. He can prove his love some other way, not by cheating.
Don't make Bonnie be that over some guy.
The very premise that caroline loved stefan all along is wrong. Just coz she thought he was hot in s1, dsnt mean she was in love with him. They bonded after she became a vampire, they became really close friends in season 4 when stefan was going through a hard time and continued the trajectory in season 5. It is towards the end of season 5 that we see that caroline starts to develop feelings for stefan, which i strongly feel was prompted by stefanis behavior - starting with his flirting when he dint have his memories. Season 5 they were best friends, but it was starting to become something more. If damon hadn't died, they would have probably gotten together much sooner.
ReplyDeleteYes stefan has acted like a complete moron this season, i will be the first one to admit it. In fact my rants about it are everywhere. However, one must realize that he never expected to fall in love again, he has never seen what a healthy relationship looks like and he has his own personal ideologies to work with, which included that u can't be friends and in love at the same time. All this and Caroline is his like only friend apart from Elena who's his ex and his brother. Losing her is NOT an option for him. SO he can't just casual date her and 'see' where it goes and he knows that. That puts a lot of pressure to make sure that this is the real deal.
He has always admired caroline. He said so in season 4..he has always trusted her, counted on her. Damon/alaric dint have to TELL him anything, he knew it, and they were teasing him and he was in denial. Well he's obviously not in denial over his feelings anymore. It did not occur out of pity. If it was a pity romance, he would have told caroline something positive when she asked him which category to put him in (at the funeral). he dint say anything. It was when he sorted through his emotions and got to the point where he realized that this could be BETTER than what he previously had with Katherine and Elena did he go to caroline.
So to summarize, just because this romantic storyline has unfolded differently than say stelena or delena, doesn't mean it isn't real or that it isn't epic or true. In fact it might just be better. :) :) :)
Stefan later on said that he'd been driving to Portland that night. I always wanted to find out - does that mean that he had packed some of his things and Damon then noticed that? Because that would make it more believable to me that nobody ever looked for him when he didn't answer his phone. They'd all still be aholes, but less so.

ReplyDeleteBut let's say Stefan were instead the female who had been heartbroken over being dumped, and Caroline was the guy. A female hesitating to fully embrace a new relationship after being dumped by someone she loved, would have been a lot more understandable in the eyes of viewers. And if she had this best friend that she finally started to see in a new romantic light (after he had been pining over her for years,) viewers would have found that sooooo romantic! Somehow it's not perceived in the same way when it happens the other way around.
ReplyDeleteWhile I agree that the current version of Elena is her best self in seasons, I still think that she is too dependent on her relationships – who could blame her when she spent all the seasons being in a relationship with someone? That is why I feel that she could benefit from some time alone, realizing who she is outside of her relationships, what she really wants to do with her life, realizing her self-worth. In a way, she has already managed to do some of that after Damon’s death, when she among other things decided for the med career, and it felt like a really healthy self-actualization for her. Of course, the process then sort of stopped when Damon returned and she tried to get back with her old self...
ReplyDeleteBonnie on the other hand spent more than her fair share of alone time :) When did she truly have someone? I mean Jer is hardly the most caring boyfriend in the world, he even cheated on her and it felt like she was somewhat alone even when she dated him. And she hasn’t been in a relationship with him for that long anyway, so I don’t think she could use more alone time, especially not after what she just went through with the prison world, LOL
And I really like how Damon is capable of being selfless about Elena – in a way; I think he’s been like that about her for much longer time now. So yes, I do believe that he truly loves Elena and would do anything for her. But if we are to accept that human Elena would never choose Damon, then are her feelings for him just as deep and true? Somehow I don’t believe it.
I guess we’ll have to agree to disagree about human Elena :) I just hope they will manage to come up with something that will honor all of the mentioned characters (without anyone feeling betrayed with Bamon or any possible development), that will allow them to grow and give us some intriguing entertainment – what a naive person I am, right? ;)
Oh, you misunderstand me - I totally agreed with that part. We accept female hesitation because they are 'weak' and 'feeble minded' or some other such nonsense, but a guy is supposed to be strong and know his mind.
ReplyDeleteI'm totally all for this new Steroline development - Stefan as hesitant is great. I only wish that in the future episodes he comes close to losing Caroline this way or another and then realizes what a moron he was.
But his hesitation is very gender equalizing, I approve.

ReplyDeleteThe tragedy is that Enzo could be a decent character (Malarkey could make it happen if the writing was there) but TVD has seen fit to make sure that doesn't happen. The character's motivations are nonsensical, the character lingers around the periphery of the show with no real purpose, he's pointlessly cruel, and all his scenes bring the pace of any episode to a screeching halt. On top of all that, at present he seems to possess no redeeming qualities whatsoever. Mildly witty dialogue and an accent can't overcome that steep of a deficit.

ReplyDeleteI believe Stefan confirmed that it is not only real but could be better then his past loves. Stefan deserves to be happy - he deserves the possibility of a beautiful relationship with someone who is not only his best friend but someone who truly loves him back.

Friendship is the only positive message the show is sending out. Let's keep it this way. Issues hinted at? sure, Actual boyfriend stealing? No.
I don't want to see this for Elena, I don't want to see this for Bonnie, I don't want this at all. I want ship fans to opt for something new and good, not for messy. There are so many ways to make Damon go for Bonnie, there's no need for cheating. He can see the whole picture without it.
Well I really think it will/should happen!! How else are we to get a dance this season?? they are never at college to go to a dorm dance or whatever...this is it girl... Jolatic wedding is wen we see a steroline slow dance!!!!! Gaaaaaahhh!!!!
ReplyDeleteWell, they look kinda functional now, except that it's only because Elena doesn't have her memories back, i.e. they still haven't gotten to them fighting about whether they are or aren't toxic like they used to do so many times in season 5... It's working only because they avoid all the past conversations about their relationship and it's issues... That's just avoiding the problem, not having solved it... The moment she gets her memories back or they start having a deeper relationship talk, we'll yet again see the breakup/makeup delena from season 5 :(
ReplyDeleteFriendship does seem to work better than relationships on this show, yet I don't want it to be at the expense of Bonnie's or anyone else's feelings... So I don't want Bonnie to be a consolation prize, the girl Damon got since he couldn't have Elena anymore... But if they can make Damon realize that he's in love with Bonnie and let it be one of the reasons why he breaks up with Elena, all in a decent manner, then I'm all for it...
But I wonder which route might the writers go for - the calmer, more open one or the messier, dramatic one... ? After all this is TVD... In fact I think they might try to make them the new triangle which I'm not sure how I feel about...
I hope so. Their first dance as a couple (or if they take it slow and that's their first date) would be very very very cute, and really special. But I wanted a dance before that, like in her home or something, it's his way of cheering her up. (Swoon) I just pictured the "home dance" as I typed that and literally swooned my ass off. LOL But their dances are always at some event/party so you may be right.

I read an article several months back that ND renewed her contract for S7 however they were waiting on Paul. I guess it does not really matter if they all sign or not if the right opportunity comes their way they can always try and get out of it.
ReplyDeleteElena being killed off - just do not see it - and not just because she is hanging around the Salvatore's, she is also a doppelganger, Elena has survived way to many close calls for it to be believable now and especially not by Caroline - if they are planning to make Caroline the lead character in S7, killing Elena would crush that story line. I see Damon / Elena heading off into the sunset together a better & more believable story line - open to guest appearances. Same they did for Jer's character and what now appears to be Alaric's as well.
No humanity Caroline - I think she may go a little dark now that she has her humanity switch off - if not Sarah then Damon - she could capture and threaten to kill Damon which is why Stefan and Elena are racing against the clock (downward spiral write up). When Elena had her humanity switch off she captured Caroline's Mom - Caroline could be doing the same in return. Like Elena, Caroline could feel threatened by Elena for trying to help her regain her humanity so she retaliates by doing the one thing that she knows will hurt Elena the most and that is to threaten to kill Damon.
