    Standard cop funeral. The flowers are beautiful. Damon gives a eulogy, wow, he's really growing up. It must be Stefan hugging Caroline in the promo, and it looks like Elena will walk in on them. If she can't handle hugging, what will she think of the kissing? It's obvious by now that Elena knows she shouldn't care, and she doesn't want to care, but people can't always help how they feel no matter how illogical it is. ND mentioned some trouble coming in Elena and Caroline's friendship, but the source will probably be Caroline's insecurity and everyone feeling too many things at once. Elena has already told Caroline that she's fine, even though she was obviously just putting Caroline's feelings first at the time. There's a code for a reason.

    OK everything looks super sad. Elena looks..concerned I think.. I feel maybe Caroline will resent herself for not being there with her mom. She might think she doesn't deserve to be comforted by Stefan. I think Steroline will hit a rough patch this episode.


    Looking fwd to Damon's eulogy. (with a few boxes of tissues ready)


    Caroline in the Salvatore boarding house. I guess it makes sense. Her mom just passed away, it might be too much for her to live at her house right now.


    I think its nice that Matt is sitting next to Caroline and not Stefan. Don't kill me SCers, its just appropriate because Matt and Elena are Caroline's oldest friends. At a time like this, they should be the ones to step in and comfort her coz they are the ones who know not just her, but her mom for so long.
    Speaking of 'friends', for F*&K's sake where is TYLER ? Are u saying he's not going to turn up to the funeral ? Thats mighty selfish of him ! If that Bas**&d wolf avoids the funeral then I AM DONE WITH HIM..HES ALREADY ON THIN ICE WITH ME..BUT THIS WILL BE THE FINAL STRAW !

    Where did u read that Caroline and Elena's friendship will run into trouble ? I thought it was pretty rocky since season 4 and almost since season 5... i thought maybe this will bring them closer...hmmmm

    You're probably right, but it appears that Elena will witness something, or overhear something, in this episode that will throw her a little. I don't think she'll try to cause problems for them, though. Anything awkward will be limited to facial expressions and possibly a good cry when no one is around. A lot will be going on in this episode.

    You're right about how their friendship should be rocky anyway. They put behind them the events in Season 4, but I've been confused about Elena's reaction to the news that Caroline slept with Klaus. In no way was that a surprise because everyone knew that Caroline wanted to sleep with him, but Elena seemed to get over it a little too quickly. Maybe Elena was afraid of being a hypocrite because she was with Damon? Damon isn't much different from Klaus. I don't see how Caroline being with Stefan would bring Caroline and Elena closer together, unless it leads to a very ugly break-up and Elena and Caroline comfort each other because Elena's compulsion might have her convinced that Stefan just left her.

    That compulsion needs to be broken. I don't see how keeping Elena compelled will serve any purpose for Delena either way, other than showing a honeymoon period that isn't really a honeymoon period. Elena doesn't seem as close to Damon as she was, and they might just end up drifting apart, which could still happen if the compulsion is broken and Elena remembers all of the pain and suffering she went through while she was in love with Damon. When a compulsion is lifted, people still remember how they felt when they were under compulsion. I keep getting the feeling that the writers just wanted to add on a part of Damon and Elena's story that fans missed, and then either move onto another love story or give Damon and Elena their own journeys. I think it would be nice if Damon and Elena each stood on their own for a while.

    It would be interesting to see if Damon (of all people) is the one who pulls Caroline back from turning her humanity off. I for one believe he is the perfect character to do just that.


    It was easy for Liz to love and protect the young kids of MF (Bonnie, Matt, Tyler, Elena, Jer.) all close friends of Caroline's, but she befriended Damon for herself, because she knew deep down he was capable of goodness. They became close during a time when they both needed it and that friendship continued to develop until her death. She confided in him her most private thoughts, memories, and concerns which to me says a lot about how much she valued their friendship.


    Pulling back Caroline from the Edge - Caroline knows Damon will not sugar coat things and he will be straight with her, plus he was the last person to be with Liz in her final moments - so his comments will be credible. Liz believed her daughter was exceptional and if she turns off her humanity she will be anything but and that would be the worst way to honor her mothers memory.

    You what gwen, I really hope you are right. I hope Damon will step up and help Caroline out. I want this to happen for a variety of reasons:


    1. Damon has probably treated caroline the worst among the MF gang. He has never really apologized for it. Caroline still holds it against him. But, she has come through for him in the past. She did make Klaus cure him from the werewolf venom in 4x23 for instance. Plus he was great friends with her mom. I think its about time these two characters developed a friendship.


    2. Ever since the cancer storyline began, stefan has been all about helping caroline. SO much so that he bottled up the fact that he was beginning to feel something or caroline. He put her problems first. But its obvious that it was effecting him a lot. The kiss scene proved that he has deep feelings that he never let come to surface because he was trying to help caroline through her issues. Which of course is extremely noble. but if damon can step in and help caroline out, maybe it will give stefan some room to be vulnerable (a little) for like 2 secs !


    hmmm i donno if I did justice to my throughout process. . . .

    Well they still hvnt had 'the talk'. N julie pled did say in an interview after the pct screening of ep 14 that, the talk is something they will hv to get out of the way, they need to figure out where to go from here...

    Elena has been sucking it up since she found out that Caroline has feelings for Stefan, and I'm sure Elena will continue to suck it up, or at least try to. Like I said, people can't change their feelings no matter how wrong or illogical. Both Stefan and Damon being in love with Elena is an example of this. Elena didn't realize she was in love with Damon until the first real sign that he didn't want to come between her and Stefan anymore, so I can't see Elena as someone who would actively try to break up two of her best friends. I think Elena's feelings, and her struggle to cope with them, would be the only possible issue. I agree that Liz's death will bring everyone closer together, but a number of forces, Steroline included, will threaten the dynamic again.

Coz thats life, only thing constant is change. dynamics change all the time. I think it will make for an interesting watch. Especially when bonnie comes back. Coz lets face it, she has A LOT OF CATCHING UP TO DO. And we don't know if she will judge her friends harshly for not trying hard enough to get her out. We don't know what her reaction to kai will be. Right now Damon and Elena are sort of tolerating him. Will Bonnie be willing to tolerate Kai after what he did to her? We might even see that Jo and Bonnie knew each other when Bonnie was little. So that will be something new the writers could explore. We know that Damon and Bonnie now have a strong friendship and it will be interesting to see how Elena fits into that dynamic.


    Right now Caroline and stefan seem to be completely removed from the group. I'm hoping ep 15 brings them back into the fold. I want to see if the group sees a visible change in stefan's behavior towards caroline. They all know caroline has feelings for him, their reaction to Stefan falling for caroline will be fun to watch. Bet Damon is going to get all sassy and tease stefan about it.


    All in all i think we have a lot to look fwd to this season. Its really shaping up to be a great one. After season 5, TVD really needed a win and this could be their comeback season !

    Bonnie won't tolerate Kai, and she'll resent anyone who tries to stop her from killing him. She won't resent her friends for not saving her because they did everything they could for her, but I can see her being distant toward everyone but Damon for psychological reasons. I'm sure she'll have a reaction to Jeremy leaving after she spent Christmas, at least, holding onto hope that she would see him again. I know there was a promise of a conversation between them in the future, but I can't see Steven R. McQueen coming back so soon, if he returns at all this season. That conversation might be on the phone, and maybe off-screen.

    I hope Elena finds out soon that Alaric sent her brother vampire hunting. After Elena compelled him into college and sent her car to that college to help him move on from vampires, Jeremy lying to her and going on a mission that will get him killed is just plain wrong. I get that the writers wanted to establish that Mystic Falls changes people, and the writers could be setting the stage for what other characters set out to do when they all separate in the series finale, but this particular plot twist was irritating.

    I totally agree with you. The Jeremy twist was completely uncalled for. And Alaric was out of line. Im talking so way out of line, the line is a freaking dot right now. He should be protecting him not sending danger his way. Absolutely RIDICULOUS. Not to mention hypocritical. His best friend is a vampire, his ward is a vampire and he wants Jeremy to kill vampires? What, only the vamps in MF are good ? The rest all deserve to die. Its always your group that gets to live, the rest don't deserve a chance. BS ! total and utter FAIL!

    For eff's sake, at the very least give us the romance plot - would it kill you to deliver on more Delena/Steroline, TVD? Seriously.

    I cannot believe that they are isolating Tyler from this storyline. Tyler knows exactly how it feels like to lose a mother. Stefan's mother's "death" happened over 100 years ago. As long as their flagships are sailing, the writers don't care about what in previous seasons. And then it's goodbye Tyler for the season, instead of letting him help Caroline.

    Agreed. I think there must be some clause in his contract that only lets him appear for a certain number of episodes per season because every season he's cut out from story lines.

    I doubt it. I think he has the same contract as Roerig or Mcqueen. It's just that their flagships and their new villains have priority. And his character tends to get in the way of those. I guess they are making room for Enzo/Matt now and thus sending Tyler away. I wish they would let him go instead of cutting off his storylines every season. The actor deserves better.

    I just hope the shot of footprints that JP talked about won't be a hint that Klaus came around again. I'm fine with crossovers, but what happened in the 100th episode made me sick, and not just because of the scandalous sex. If Klaus knew enough about what was going on to send Rebekah to rescue Matt, then he knew the Travelers were around and he must have figured out what Katherine and Nadia were planning to do. Instead of trying to stop it, he made a deal so that Caroline would have sex with him as his way of taking another shot at Tyler. Klaus might have even heard Katherine do the passenger spell after he was done having sex with Caroline, and he STILL walked away. He wouldn't have a baby to protect, he wouldn't have a baby at all, if Elena hadn't stood there at that altar and let him kill her, but all he cared about was that everyone paid for what Tyler did to the baby even though they probably still don't know about it. And KLAUS gets a redemption show? Give me a break.

    but in ep 2 he was all, i hv a girl out there crying for you blah blah and he freaking KILSS IVY !! and then what as soon as he tells stefan she has a thing for him, he just decides to walk out completely..then he puts in a lil line about how Stefan dsnt deserve the 'girls' he has ... ahem caroline ? . . this guys story line is just all over the place. its stupid, illogical, i mean more than half the season is over and I still don't get him. i donno what to call it anymore - sloppy writing ? BS ? I donno !

    The actress playing mama salvatore tweeted she's shooting for episode 17 now.Joshua butler,the director for this episode,tweeted that they have shot a very secret scene with her in this one.Now from the synopsis,it's already confirmed that she's appearing in episode 16 flashback.Now,TVD doesn't do flashback of the same character(s) for two back-to-back episodes,ever.
    If this doesn't scream present day appearance,i don't know what will.It's clear as a day,there's no other explanation here.

    I never thought what Enzo did was because he cared about Caroline. It was always about Stefan, including killing Ivy. Some shippers just went crazy over it and read too much into it.
    In ep 6x02 he brought Caroline with him because he knew that he could use Caroline against Stefan to get him back on track, he never comforted Caroline nor he thought of. He just went in and kill Ivy again to get Stefan back on track. It was never REALLY about Caroline. Sure maybe a little.
    In ep 6x07 When they find out Caroline might be in danger. Enzo didn't care and Stefan went to Caroline's dorm room. When they learned Caroline's mom is in danger Enzo still killed Tripp by turning him into a vampire.
    In 6x10 and 6x11 he was stalking Stefan and went after them to Duke but he never talked to or with Caroline even though he knew about the cancer.
    He kept the same attitude until the end of cancer storyline. He's just obsessed with Stefan and everything he does concerns Stefan.

    n more importantly, stefan was HUMAN and a child when his mom died. Caroline being a vampire is going to experience this in a far more profound way than a human child. SO yeah.. Tyler should be there.

    No, no, you misunderstand me. I was trying to say that I'm worried that the shot of footprints, just a shot of footprints, will be a way to bring Klaus into Caroline's story. A possibility is that Caroline might discover that Klaus was outside her house or something, and changed his mind about visiting her for some reason. They wouldn't actually show Klaus. We would have found out by now if Joseph Morgan was actually going to make an appearance on TVD.

    honestly even if Klaus shows up it wouldn't make a difference at this point. Coz caroline has made her choice loud and clear. If klaus comes it will be as a friend and nothing more. And it will shut the KCers for good. SO yeah bring it on :D :D :D

    Agree - Damon / Caroline need to end this feud that for some reason developed deeper during the 'sire bond' series. Damon saved Caroline when Jewel's wolfpack took her and he was on her side convincing Liz that even though she was a vampire she was still her daughter. I do not condone Damon's actions in any way but they came about early in the show where we were learning about the special "powers" they vampires have and how lawless they could be toward humans. Caroline is a control freak and to have that control taken away for even the briefest amount of time must have sent her over the edge. I know this may sound mean & I know there is no excuse for bad behavior - but Caroline is use to bossing people around & getting her way (car washes, dances, prom, graduation etc...) and when someone else was bossing her around she did not like it in the least. Damon and Caroline love and deeply care for the same people, they at least have that in common. Now that Liz is gone I wonder if we will learn what was driving Caroline's need for controlling every situation?

    I hate that they keep isolating Tyler; regardless of what happened between him and Caroline, I think that Liz probably meant something to him. Caroline and Tyler really had a great story, and until the writers messed up their relationship, they were easily my favorite couple. I always assumed that no matter what happened, they would either be endgame or at least remain very close friends. However, when Caroline slept with Klaus, the person who killed Tyler's mother, and made his life a living hell, I think that she basically severed that close bond forever. I can still see them being casual friends, but I really can't see Tyler ever getting over the Klaus incident. I'd still expect Tyler to be at the funeral, but to me it makes more sense for Stefan to be the one to comfort Caroline, On the other hand, I think that losing her own mother might finally make Caroline understand what Tyler was going through and why it was so important for him to seek out Klaus.

    Honestly, I wouldn't put this on Caroline, because I really don't see Damon making much of an attempt to make amends for what he did to Caroline years ago. Liz got along well with Damon because they had a completely different, and more amicable history, and had she known that Damon held Caroline captive and compelled her to sleep with him repeatedly (which is essentially rape), then she probably would have loathed Damon for what he did to her daughter. Anyway, I can't blame Caroline for feeling the way she does about Damon. They both seem to tolerate each other, so I don't see the big deal.

    You make some great points. I think the writers just don't care about Tyler anymore.
    They erased the TC relationship completly. It would have been so easy for them to write a conversation between them. Tyler knows how it feels to lose a mother, and now that he broke up with Liv because she would rather die than be with him, I think he understands Caroline's POV from their breakup too. And Caroline told him to get over his mother's death. And now her mother died and she is spiraling. She gets his POV now too. I don't even want them to get together again. But I think they both need to understand each other and be friends again. Because what the writers are doing is cruel and out of character for both of them. It does make more sense for Stefan to be there at the funeral for Caroline, but if you want to write an organic story, you're gonna have to close all the chapters, instead of just selling the two flagships.
