    well tptb don't let their ships stay happy for too long so I'm hoping there's a be a big punchline by season end. in fact I think I'm gonna record the rest of the season and watch it in a single marathon instead of being disappointed on a weekly basis by this awful season.

    As long as this relationship doesn't take center stage and is served out slowly in small doses spread throughout, I am okay with it. Let's hope they don't make it left, right and center like Damon/Elena.

    Stefan really doesn't have that middle stage, he goes from one extreme to an other. Either he is a ripper or he drinks bunnies, either he is an ass or the best (boy/toy)friend ever.

    They'll probably go pretty heavy with this through the next couple of episodes until Caroline loses it and goes off the rails just like they did with Elena before Jeremy died.

    Because two people have NEVER connected during an emotional time on this show before. Except Delena, Klaroline, Forwood, Bamon and pretty much every single ship that has ever existed on this show.

    I'm not bugged by Delena or Steroline in the big picture, but if they should interact much more with the other characters. Stefan and Caroline barely interacted with anyone else and it starts to get a bit to much.

    For Delena on the other hand this slightly more adult approach is making them much more tolerable. And as far as they don't start that push and go again I'm fine with them getting focus.

    That would be relevant if she knew her mother was going to die on that very day. People seek a connection during times of trouble. They look for whatever happiness they can get. That doesn't make the happiness less significant just because it wasn't made during a time of complete peace.


    Yes her mother is dying, but she can't do anything about that. What she can do is find the little things that bring her happiness, like a tiny bike that reminds her of a happy memory with her mother. Or spending time with a guy she's in love with because his mere presence makes her feel better.

    There is just one amount of heartbreaking goodbye scenes and let's share moments two characters can have, except for Delena. Making L&C spend the whole ep together would be to pushy as well.

    Not a real fan of them going at it in this ep but not huge drama either.

    umm no, when Bill died they let Caroline be there for him. they made it about those two and not some ship. It wasn't pushy it was beautiful and still remains as Candice's best work on the show and again Stefan is in every caroline scene if this isn't pushy and forced than I have no idea what is

    That's what i'm saying.This glioblastoma thingy is a severely aggresive tumor,caroline made it worse unknowingly.She shouldn't take chances.This is perfect ship-baiting.Making moony eyes at each other & giggling while we know her mom is dying.It's insensitive to the non-ship fandom coz even though caroline doesn't know that her mom is dying at that moment,the writers definitely do.But they went to pick that very moment to push this couple of all times.Even delena isn't this much forced-can't believe i'm saying this.

    Bill's death was sudden, out of nowhere. Caroline for now had already 2-3 emotional scenes with Liz. Caroline and Liz will have their big goodbye but it would be to much if this whole episode would be about that.

    He has been there for someone he loves. And how is he REDUCED by being in love with Caroline? She's an awesome girl. Stefan has been happier this season than he's been in the previous three. I know people are used to Stefan being the show's emotional punching bag, but he deserves happiness too. He is not "reduced" by being happy.

    I hate the idea that they are killing her mother to make this ship happen, I hate that they pretty much cut Caroline from any other character interactions but Stefan and I hate that they promised us a non romantic storyline for Caroline but it ended to be all about romance

    Did people completely miss the part where Enzo has spent this ENTIRE season making plans to ruin Stefan's life? I might be crazy, but I'm thinking all of that buildup is going to create an actual story line for Stefan in later episodes.

    Yeah it will lead to them being together. Funnily enough, A LOT of things over the years have lead to them being together that have ZERO connection to Liz's cancer. That doesn't mean it's the only reason for Liz's cancer. That's all in your head, and you're projecting.

    You mean besides Stefan being the sole purpose of every single thing Enzo has done this season? The fact that he followed Stefan to discover what he was hiding? That he took control of Matt in order to help him ruin Stefan's life?


    Every single thing he's done has been about Stefan. But Stefan has bigger things to worry about than Enzo, like being there for Caroline, which is what a good person does. I'm positive that Stefan is going to get more involved soon. Stefan and Enzo have their own shared story line, it just hasn't required his attention yet.

    Paul Wesley has been pushing this ship since Season 5 for some reason. He might have made it a condition of his staying beyond Season 6. There's nothing anyone can do if an actor is kicking up a fuss and saying his character is mistreated. But the ship is all he's getting. Stefan is now a liar and possible sociopath. Whatever makes Paul Wesley happy so that people still have jobs.

    I don't mind the Stefan and Caroline relationship at all but I am in agreement with others here about their story lines. It's like they are both completely isolated from the main arc (Kai and the Gemini coven) of the season. Okay, we can excuse Caroline. Her story line with her dying mother is an
    emotional journey for her and it adds more depth to her character (so I
    am okay with it).

    But what about Stefan? Has Stefan even had one scene with Kai? Why isn't his character being used in the main story line? It's like he has been punted to the side. Why can't the show keep him involved in the main story line and develop his relationship with Caroline on the side?

    Speaking of story lines there's the matter of Enzo and his revenge which is the most useless, nonsensical story line ever and on top of it, it's moving at a snail's pace. And there is no guarantee that Stefan will even get involved in the Sarah Salvatore story line what with hints that Enzo will fall for her. If Enzo falls for her, he won't turn her into a vampire, she will be save and Stefan won't be needed.

    One hope I have is the possible introduction of Mama Salvatore down the line. That could be a good opportunity for a solid story line centered around the brothers - i.e IF it's not completely monopolized by Damon.

    There is only so much time in each episode. It already feels like they're having to squeeze in the stuff they have right now. Adding Stefan to the main story right now probably wouldn't help.

    True, but I haven't seen any of the actors complain as much as Paul Wesley over the past couple of years.

    You know, it occurred to me that the problem could also be the fact that Klaroline shippers are still an issue. Joseph Morgan seemed a little uncomfortable at SDCC answering yet another question about a Klaroline reunion. This could be the only way to make that stop. Damon and Elena have both reached a point in their character development where they can thrive as characters alone or with other people, but Stefan and Caroline might be getting rushed together to stop the Klaroline madness. It's dialed down a little since last summer, but there are shippers who are still angry and threatening and won't let it go.

    Ok - I know their are a lot of nasayers - But Stefan being Mr Fix It - OMG - he is really HOT!! And to see the look on Caroline's face - I mean Caroline is never speechless - she could barely breath. I really can't remember when Stefan looked so Hot. Talk about sexual tension...I am with Caroline - she needs to go for it.

    Enzo is supposed to fall in lust, not love, so I doubt he'll change his mind about anything. I know there are rumors about Mama Salvatore, but I'm pretty sure we'll just see her in flashback when we see Damon as he was sometime in the 1850s. He's supposed to comfort Caroline at the funeral by telling her about what he went through when his mother died. As far as I know, there's been nothing concrete about Stefan and Damon's mother beyond that short story.

    I actually don't think I was being subtle about it at all. Caroline is a character that I actually love, when she's not being used a romantic plot device and completely defined by the relationships she is in.


    I prefer Stefan & Caroline to remain friends because despite everyone trying to convince me that this has been brewing since season 2, it still feels like Marge simpsons trying to pair everyone up. (wish I could find the clip of what I'm talking about)


    Regardless, Steroline would be (marginally) easier for me to accept, if she hadn't already been through Matt, Damon, Tyler & Klaus. YMMV.


    I do and will cast shade on the show and the writers, but I don't hate on anyone for being excited that they're getting together. To each their own.

    Well Paul was clear that he did NOT want to play a character thats perpetually pinning over a girl who dumped him and is in love with his brother !!     Caroline dries confirmed it herself in an interview last year.They were planning on getting rid off the character but ian threatened to walk out.So,they invented this whole ghost enzo track and later resurrected him in the finale.Next thing we know,he's a series regular from the dead guy.How often does that happen on TVD?

You may not like the storyline but it doesn't change the fact that writers decided to pair them up long ago and discussed to find a storyline.

The way he looks at her is so intense and says so much. (meant to be) I've always been attracted to eyes. When guys stare with an intense glare, it's so hot. Especially if they have different colored eyes. And with his big green eyes, it's blush worthy. lol

    The actress playing mama salvatore tweeted a pic that she is shooting for episode 17 currently.The director of this episode joshua butler tweeted that he shot a very secret scene with her.It's lt's already revealed in episode 16 synopsis that she will appear in FBs.TVD doesn't do FB for the same character(s) in two back to back episodes.So,if that doesn't reveal that she will appearing in present time,i don't know what will.It's clear as a daylight.

    Stefan's been through Elena, Katherine, Rebekah, and countless women in the past. Every character on this show has had romantic partners. Giving Caroline that shit is ridiculous. Besides Damon and Klaus (one of which was really rapey) those were all committed relationships. While I don't think she's defined by romantic relationships (Elena) or a plot device (that's Bonnie, seriously until this season that was her only real use), shaming her is ridiculous. If you're shaming her you have to shame everyone else on this show as well for that.

    well somebody has to help her through it. To be honest i don't think she feels that close to Elena anymore. Especially after season 5 when Elena killed Jesse and she said - the elena i used to know would have given him a chance. I feel that was the point where she realized that the elena she used to be best friends with is gone and ever since then they have drifted apart. Even in season 6 when caroline told elena - i guess I'm just lonely and Elena replied, Well I'm here, caroline just said yeah and walked off....


    Who else is left ? Bonnie is in some twilight zone, Alaric and Caroline were never friends, Damon and caroline don' t get along and Caroline hates Damon. SO yeah it falls on Stefan and it would be weird for him NOT to be there for her !

    I could not agree more - Stefan is the hero - he is at his best when he is helping someone and feeling appreciated - it was the same with Elena - her parents died and he stepped in to help Elena get through it - and yes they formed a romantic attraction. I see a lot of similarities between Stefan / Caroline and their budding relationship only difference is that they were friends first - which I believe is a stronger foundation for them to build off of. I have never seen Stefan so happy and having so much fun. When Stefan was with Elena he was mysterious and conflicted with his blood issues - but he is now free from letting his blood control him - and he is Happy.

There are like 100 Hospital or CSI shows out there. I'm pretty sure they sometimes have the same storys too. So why can't some supernatural shows have similar storylines?     Honestly this is far more realistic than Stelena beginnings. Steroline began with friendship. It makes sense for Stefan to be her rock and help her through this. One has to account for the fact that Steroline has been on the cards before the Sherif's cancer angle, hence one can reasonably assume that stefan did have feelings for Caroline, which resurfaced when they started spending a lot of time together.


    As for Stelena, Stefan was basically a stranger who Elena let into her life and who she fell in love with and yada yada. Its just like u said, him being all mysterious and broody made it all intriguing and the whole of vampire who struggles with blood lust in love with a human was all oh so romantic. But that fizzled out and its not coming back


    This here - 2 best friends falling in love with each other - this is as close to reality as it gets.

    After again viewing the clip and dissecting it second by second I have this to say about the 3 kind of stefan smiles in this clip --
    1. in the beginning he seemed flattered that she was checking him out, hence the sexy smirk. Which i find very amusing (and refreshing) as its been a while since we saw such a 'naughty', flirty side.
    2. then came that smile of his when caroline was telling him about the bike - it was sooooo i donno the word for it... DREAMY i think? yeah I'm going with dreamy. It lingered on and is eyes, the way he dint take his eyes off her for a millisecond, trying to catch every word, every expression.. priceless
    3. and the smile at the end was all - this is where i belong...like he was content and totally in ZEN mode.... sigh ! !

    I really think you're missing my point. It's not just about the number of people a character has been paired with (though she's been with the most) it's why. I could go season by season and breakdown Carolines role on the show but this is probably not the right place for me to write an essay on "The poor sexual and romantic choices and decisions written for the TVD's Caroline", and I think even if I did, I'm not likely going to convince you that her "hook ups" haven't been a natural progression of the character, and have purely been about moving the plot forward (except maybe Tyler).


    But think about why she was with Damon. Was that about her or about Elena?
    Why was she with Matt? This actually was a bit about her, but also with shades of Elena.
    Tyler - This one I'll give her mostly
    Klaus - Plot, Plot, Plot
    Stefan - ??? - You already know why I think they are getting together, and I know you disagree.


    I wanna say I don't think you are looking at this objectively, but I suppose it's just that you don't agree with me. And that's fine. We dont have to all agree to get along.


    You think I need to shame everyone else on this show because I'm shaming Caroline (actually I'm shaming the writers) but no other character has been treated this way. So while I agree that Bonnie has been a deus ex machina for most of her run, and that once they resolved the love triangle Stefan has kinda been aimless on the show, those are completely different issues from the one I have with Caroline.

    I agree that those all have plot driving points and some forcedness. But is every romance. Stelena, Delena, even Bonnie and Jeremy all drive the point and are forced in a variety of ways. That's every relationship on this show. That's why I can't stand basically any romance on this show. At least with these two there's chemistry and a emotional foundation there that can explain it. I guess my problem with your argument is just giving Caroline that crap, yet every other character suffers similar effects.

    How about Tyler or Matt? Tyler was the love of her life (Caroline said this a lot) and Matt was there for her when her father died, I don't see why he can't be there to support her now.

    The ship stelena has sailed a long time ago but i agree with all points regarding steroline.This romance will only end in a disaster heartbreak on caroline's side and in the process,will destroy one of the most beautiful friendship on this series.I could care less who stefan ends up with,i just don't want caroline to go through another tragedy.

    The triangle is never dead. I wouldn't put my money on Stelena being over for good. Because I don't see DE going on for another season. They are already clumsy and awkward and Damon seems to really like the person Bonnie sees in him. In every conversation Elena is trying so hard to keep the focus on her, but he's always turning it back to Bonnie. I wouldn't say DE are safe and SE have sailed. Never say never.

    Even though i think/know Delena is Endgame couple,i still think they are dropping plenty of hints towards elena being human again.In her conversation with damon,kai telling her-seems telling.Who knows,may be it will make her character a little more tolerable!

    she said this about the triangle if I remember correctly. They already alluded at the cure. And to me it's clear that Elena is kinda being pushed in the background by the male leads. Bonnie and Caroline are much more vital to Damon and Caroline's narrative than Elena. And Elena is the lead! Turning her back human, would give them the opportunity to reboot Elena. Much more like the memory swipe did.

    If Ian/Nina quits after season 6,then no.Otherwise,yes.
    No way the writers are sending away the hardcore delena fandom viewers(the one still left) by making stelena couple again.Besides,julie & caroline are obsessed with delena.No way stefan gets this one.

    I just feel like the general audience is over them and the writers are too (they might not admit it, but the writing got so sloppy for them). Maybe I'm just hoping that DE will not make it. It would suck for Caroline though.
    Sigh, I don't care about the SC/DE flagships, as long as Caroline doesn't get hurt or sent over to TO.

    OH God if its going to be a Caroline-Stefan-Elena-Damon Love Rectangle then its going to be a bloody disaster ! ! ! I can't watch ! !


    If Elena becomes human the different possible scenarios include:
    - She still chooses damon
    - She is confused between damon and stefan, in which case:
    - Damon continues to fight the good fight (most likely); or
    - Damon gives her space to make her decision; or
    - Damon dumps her ass


    - Stefan already fallen in love with Caroline will choose to stay with Caroline; or
    - Stefan will go back to Elena; or
    - Stefan will be torn between Elena and Caroline (if this be the case Caroline should walk off and never look back, coz honey u deserve better than an indecisive man)


    - Elena chooses Stefan - Stefan's options are listed above.


    The only person I would care/worry about would be Caroline. Coz i really do think she deserves to be happy and find true love. So yeah, now that Steroline is happening, it better be endgame.

    Actually i like caroline so much,i am not completely against the idea of her going to TO.I liked klaroline way more than this steroline romance,can't believe i'm saying this.I feel like they had more chemistry even though that ship doesn't sense even more!
