The Musketeers - The Return - Advance Preview + Dialogue Teasers

Feb 13, 2015

Finally, the rugby is behind us and we can look forward to a run of uninterrupted episodes after a single story in a month of frustrating delays. This marks the midway point of the season and the arcs have been neatly set in place for each of the Musketeers - Aramis has his va-va voom back, Constagnan are friends again, Porthos is suspicious about his inheritance and Athos is troubled that Milady is back. Oh yeah, then there’s the demoted Treville, now officially the fifth Musketeer I guess. He’s doing the menial jobs round the garrison, like shovelling out the stables...except for when d’Artagnan gets hoodwinked by the others into do it for him of course.

In the background, however, someone has desperately been trying to attract Athos’ attention, without much luck it seems going by the stack of unopened letters in his quarters. His tenants are being hounded by a rival nobleman, Baron Renard (Miles Anderson), and need their liege lord’s protection. Compelling Athos to do anything he doesn’t want to do is never a simple matter though and he has absolutely no desire to return to the site of where his life fell apart as the Comte de la Fère. Therefore the peasant’s force his hand and bring him there themselves, which doesn’t go down well for obvious reasons. Broody Athos becomes furious Athos pretty darn quickly!

After having spent quite a bit of time in Paris during the start of the season it is great to see the Musketeers together out in the field at last. I think fans will also be pleased to hear that the story has a bit more of the feel of season one about it. The tone still has that slightly more adult edge, but there is more comradery between the leads and a chance to delve into the characters a little deeper without court politics getting in the way.

There is a Wild West vibe running through much of the episode, which works wonderfully during the Pinon village setting as the tenants struggle to overcome their troubles. The theme doesn’t quite sit so well when it comes to Athos’ side story, which does give a slightly disconnected feel over all, but nothing too jarring as it still comes together as a whole nicely I feel. Once again I have to also commend Paul Englishby’s score which compliments the motif perfectly. His work has been outstanding on the show and I sincerely hope that he is on board for season three.

Here’s the first part of this week’s hangman, crack this and there is an additional sentence to come too.

Both of the hangman have been solved!

The photo clue has been solved. Scrambled letters - shops + radiator + man = Aramis and Porthos

Aramis and Porthos team up on a mission together away from the rest of the main group. As well as being gallant heroes and saving the girl, there is evidence of their close friendship too. Aramis picks up on the issue between his buddy and Treville and asks his pal what the problem is.

As for the other three, one of them is still regarded as the Captain despite his demotion and the other two also have an emotional bonding moment.

  2. Thanks Sandi! It's great to FINALLY be heading towards a new episode!
but my poor Treville. :( Hopefully he'll be back in his office before
the end of the series instead of mucking out the stables.....:/

Very tough teasers but I'll take a guess at this one being said by Aramis?
“It’s a beautiful day, we really should come to the country more often”
Reminds me of him being temporarily excited by the countryside in Knight Takes Queen...!

And maybe Porthos saying the trailer teaser?
“If we’re gonna get out of this we’ll have to work together”

    I'll tackle the hangman tomorrow!

  4. "She ruined your life and yet she still breathes" - Catherine to Athos
"If I didn't know you better, I'd say that sounded pretty cowardly" - D'Artagnan to Athos

  5. Thank you for the episode preview!! Athos is my favorite Musketeers; so, I have been looking forward to this one since I read the synopsis. Hurry up Friday!! : )

    ReplyDelete
  6. 'Are these really all the weapons you have?" Athos to the people of Pinon?

  7. Thanks for the review Sandi.. :)

It's nice to hear that the camaraderie between the boys - and a bit of the humour - makes a return here, I've missed it somewhat over the last few episodes. Is it fair to say that despite Athos being the centre of attention this time, the other three ( four, now with Treville ) get a decent amount to do as well? Are there any nice Aramis / Porthos or d'Artagnan / Athos moments in this episode?

I suppose you're not allowed to say whether it looks like the Musketeers will be getting a new Captain or not?

I do think that with all the trouble Athos has with Milady, the last thing he needed as a storyline was another ex showing up but as long as Tom Burke is his usual good self and we're actually getting some nice character moments, I don't mind so much..

    ReplyDelete
  8. Ok, reading the preview make me realize how much i missed the boys all together.
It seems like the old spark is coming back, and it was missing. A lot.
Furious Athos is a great Athos, i can't wait for see him caught out of guard! And all this people reminding him of Milady? Like he could possibly forget her...
And the boys at the rescue, teaching at a bunch of peasants how to fight... yeah, this can be a nice S1 return. Athos stares, Aramis humor, supportive D'Artagnan, and Porthos politeness.

“If we’re gonna get out of this we’ll have to work together”
I imagine this could be Milady once she brought everyone at the mansion (or whatever the place name was), or Treville who has to keep in control the worst team mates of the history. (Athos, Milady, Rochefort)

    ReplyDelete
  9. "If we're going to get out of this, we have to work together" involves two of the following - Athos, Milady and Rochefort. Not an exact guess I know but....

    ReplyDelete
  10. You're welcome Knitty. Yes, I dunno if it's just the crappy time I've had but this latest week off has felt like forever!!

Yep, that's Aramis' line, it's so very him isn't it! There's a few other ones that I almost used - there's plenty to choose from, which is a nice thing! - but that's the one I settled on in the end cos it reminded me of KTQ too :)

And yep, Porthos in the trailer tease too, but who is he saying it to?

    ReplyDelete
  11. I certainly feels like it's been a longer wait for this one than the last one! The first quote is spot on on, Catherine is not a fan of Milady at all, lol. The others aren't said by any of those people I'm afraid.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Tom is wonderful in it, as is Maimie in her short appearances, their flashbacks gives you some food for thought imo. It's great to see what's been going on at his old house since the fire and some of the secrets it, and he, holds :)

    ReplyDelete
  13. Hi there! :) I'm afraid it's not said by Athos, he is the one who helps to solve the weapons problem eventually though :)

    ReplyDelete
  14. Thank you for the additional info!! I've been anxious to get more insight into the Athos/Milady relationship, and I think it will be interesting to see Athos deal with the responsibilities of his old life.

    ReplyDelete
  15. So happy to hear we also get to see Mamie even for a little and that we get some more flashbacks.

    ReplyDelete
  16. You're welcome :) All the guys have a good amount of screen time I'd say, the hangman reveals a bit more about some of that ;)

No new captain that I know of, but then we don't normally see much to do with any of them outside these 5 core people in the show. I can't see the need for yet another new plot point or character being added though, it's a busy enough season as it is to tie up at this point, lol.

Catherine is an interesting but not very likeable person imo, I have a feeling Athos is a bit naive about her, but I could be wrong.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Yeah, I know what you mean about missing them all together. If it wasn't for the delays I don't think this would have been quite so frustrating, we had them together in the opening episode after all. It is lovely seeing the other four Musketeers stepping up and supporting the peasants when Athos refuses to at first due to his anger at the situation. The brotherhood really does work whether an individual wants it to or not tbh! lol

I'm afraid that's not correct for that quote, someone has got the speaker right further up in the comments, we just need the one person it's spoken to now :)

    ReplyDelete
  18. “It’s a beautiful day, we really should come to the country more often” Aramis to D'Artganan

    ReplyDelete
  19. Hmmm from the pictures she did not look that like able to me.
I think Athos is a bit naive about few things when it comes to women.

    ReplyDelete
  20. I hope you are doing better this week

    ReplyDelete
  21. I'm pretty amazed I got one to be honest!:)

    ReplyDelete
  22. Thanks athena, I'm feeling much more myself now thankfully. Just won't be believing the term 'noninvasive' tests ever again though! Lol

    ReplyDelete
  23. I'm already laughing at Athos eternal scowl, tumblr will be filled with gif! First the peasants, then the boys coming for him and taking care of the situation, really a S1 plot.
The first episode was well balanced, yes, but it feels like ages ago. These pauses are killing us.

While speaking of the quote... it's possible the person is Aramis? It would be... odd, but perhaps Aramis wants to go in separate ways (go find the Queen and the baby) while Porthos is more focused on the King?

(Or maybe, later in the episode he joins the rescue team.)

    ReplyDelete
  24. Thank you for the preview Sandi! It does sound very much like a "The Magnificient Seven" type scenario. :)

A couple of guesses for the quotes:

“You think you know me but you don’t” Athos to Catherine
“Remember your discipline, think like soldiers and you cannot lose” Treville to the peasants

    ReplyDelete
  25. “You have to help me get out of this, you have to believe me” - Milady to Athos in flashback
“If I didn’t know you better, I’d say that sounded pretty cowardly” - Treville to Athos
“Let’s have some sport. We’ll run her down like a fox” - Renard about the Inn Keeper's Daughter
“You’d all be dead by now, but don’t let that bother you” “Let’s try again” - Aramis to the villagers

    Teaser Trailer:
“If we’re gonna get out of this we’ll have to work together” - Porthos to Aramis

    ReplyDelete
  26. Thanks, Sandi! I cannot imagine poor Treville mucking about in the stables.....oh, dear. I bet he is still scowling too.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Any Anne and Aramis scenes in this episode ?

    ReplyDelete
  28. Sandi will know for sure but I think this one is mainly focused on the Musketeers with some Milady in flashback. Anne will be front and centre again next week, alongside Aramis.:)

    ReplyDelete
  29. You know the funny things is, I think he'd be pretty cool with it. He's a Musketeer through and through and I don't think status means that much to him. I don't imagine he's a man who'd be worried about a bit of hard graft.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Do think Athos brother Thomas will be in his episode. i mean flashback.

    ReplyDelete
  31. if we have some interaction between Athos and D'Artagnan, I think D'Artagnan could say this quote, as Athos told him about his brother in season 1 :

“She did this. Your wife, she murdered Thomas”.

    ReplyDelete
  32. He won't be bothered by the hard work, no. It's less the loss of status and more the humiliation of having (apparently) disappointed the King that will be eating away at him. Jess's latest picture says it all. #sob

    ReplyDelete
  33. Aww, just saw the pic.:( Poor Treville. He's completely defined by his loyalty to his King and his men. This will be devastating for him and the agony isn't over yet. I think it's a bit of a shame that they haven't portrayed Treville as married in this version of the story. A Madame Treville would have been interesting, almost as a mother figure for the boys and indeed, a sounding board for Constance. It would also have given Treville another dimension.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I always saw him as a career soldier, with no time for a family, but I do have a wee fanfic in the back of my mind of some long-lost love walking into the garrison some day. He deserves a decent backstory.

    ReplyDelete
  35. It looks like one he was wearing in S2ep1, when they'd rescued de Fois and Rochefort just killed the Spanish guy. They were all in the middle of changing and there was a shot of D'Artagnan wearing something very similar to that. I'm not sure if it was nicked from his unconscious buddy in Lucie's room, or if it was his own and he was putting it back on under his jacket, but it was the same sort of style.

Not that I pay attention to what D'Artagnan wears, of course.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Ah yes, you're right. Could be the pick was taken around the time they filmed that episode.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I really need to get out more. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  38. I don't think d'Artagnan would use the word 'wife' to refer to Milady because he knows her personally.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Yeah, I'd agree with that. I think he sees things in a very black and white/right or wrong kind of way too, and slots people into either of those two compartments too easily without considering the grey areas of someone's personality. Which could be one of the reasons he drinks too much tbh, lol.

    ReplyDelete
  40. LMAO The only word I can come up with from the hangman is "bendy" but somehow I don't think that's right......:P

    ReplyDelete
  41. Cheers Celiane. Between the hospital visit and then an absolutely massive episode on Friday of the other show I am doing previews for on the site I've kinda missed you guys a lot tbh! :)

Not Aramis I'm afraid. I did drop Tigercheetah a couple of hints about this the other week as it was something she was hoping to see happen soon in the show, but I'm not sure if she'll remember, lol.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Yep it's him, he says it to all the Musketeers :)

    ReplyDelete
  43. You're welcome Helen! The second quote is spot on, very Treville like isn't it, lol. :)

    ReplyDelete
  44. The first one is correct, and I gave you the double quote too as it is d'Artagnan and Aramis to the villagers as they are training them up, you did mention both there :)

    ReplyDelete
  45. Yeh - one correct! It is so like Treville. Now to solve this hangman! :)

    ReplyDelete
  46. He's not too bothered I don't think, more concerned for the rest of the Musketeer troupe as a whole I think - typical Treville thinking of the soldiers and how the unit will operate well rather than himself. After this episode he does have more thoughts ahead though, but at present it's still a bit new I think.

    ReplyDelete
  47. yeah now that I've thought about it, it seems a little weird in fact.
But when I saw the quote for the first time, I thought that he could say 'wife' because I don't know if Athos still married or not to Milady and I also thought that it could be used as a reference.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Nope I'm afraid not, there's only a couple of very brief scenes in Paris, the one in the sneak peek and then another in Athos' rooms. I think that's why it feels much more like a season one episode, the Musketeers and their friendship (though a certain problem is obviously very evident between two of them) is at the forefront rather than matters at court.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Hmm, not really. He's there in essence though.

    ReplyDelete
  50. how about Athos brother Thomas.

    ReplyDelete
  51. You're welcome Hana :) It's a pretty good episode, the pacing is a lil slow to start with perhaps but it picks up towards the end. I preferred it more the second time I watched it as I missed a couple of things the first time round. I don't think it's as good as the last episode, but I do love the interaction between the guys and the way they have Athos' back whether he wants them to or not, lol :)

I'm afraid none of those are correct, the first one was guessed yesterday though so it has been filled in this evening, it's Catherine to Athos.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Those picture clues for the hangman - all I can think of is 'letters from heated (irate) villagers sent to Athos (man)'! I'm terrible with these picture clues, so probably totally wrong! ;)

    ReplyDelete
  53. No, he doesn't say it either. It's Aramis who does, it's been filled in above as it's been guessed correctly now :)

    ReplyDelete
  54. Cheers Sandi! :) That's so funny because I could totally hear both D'Artagnan and Aramis saying that and couldn't separate them.

    ReplyDelete
  55. You don't remember seeing the first picture before then in a previous hangman? :o

    ReplyDelete
  56. just interesting what happen between him and milady. how are you feeling

    ReplyDelete
  57. This is the episode where you'll see that kind of thing happen a few times ;)

    ReplyDelete
  58. Worth a try. ;)

How about 'badly' then, at the end of the 2nd row?

    ReplyDelete
  59. The letters will probably mean you have to mix up the words/clues, rather than it being about actual physical letters. I never worked that out the first time!

    ReplyDelete
  60. I'm much better now thank you :)

Yes me too! I can't really say much now, but come find me in the poll thread after the episode on Friday ;)

    ReplyDelete
  61. Oh yes, those scrambled letters! ;)

    ReplyDelete
  62. Told you I was useless at those picture clues - now, I have shops, rad and loo! ;)

    ReplyDelete
  63. I've just got Radiator Man, which I'm sure is the title of some awful B-Movie!

    ReplyDelete
  64. Hmm, getting the picture clue may help with this word I think

    ReplyDelete
  65. Haha, it does, but those words are correct!!

    ReplyDelete
  66. Maybe the village is raided by men? :)

    ReplyDelete
  67. Not quite, Here's the link to that hangman so you can see :)

    http://www.spoilertv.com/2015/01/the-musketeers-emilie-teaser-hangman-2.html

    ReplyDelete
  68. Is it an anagram of the three words - radiator, man and shops/stores or village? Not sure of the last word.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Hope it'll be a good one, just with the preview and the quotes you make me want to see more of it. =)
It's always a good point to have some interaction between the guys, and you're right about Athos, with them you can see the real friendship, they always support each other that's why this show is really good.
it doesn't matter about the quotes, I'll try some other later.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Well either way, I'll never get it. These ones always go right over my head.

    ReplyDelete
  71. I've really enjoyed the court stuff this year, but it is great to have one with just the lads in too for a change.

    ReplyDelete
  72. I can get 'Athos' and 'Aramis' out of the letters for radiator, man and shops but that only leaves 'r, d, o, n, p' which doesn't make any sense. Off to bed I go - hopefully, someone else will solve this by the morning! ;)

    ReplyDelete
  73. After seeing the new preview and reading about the upcoming episode I feel the need to watch Commodities again just to gear me up for Friday.

    ReplyDelete
  74. I know we call Milady Athos's ex-wife but I do not think there was a divorce in Catholic 17th century France. Even in the book by Dumas she always remains his wife in the eyes of the world.

    ReplyDelete
  75. I am hoping we get some thing cleared up for us the viewers about him and Milady and what actually went down between them.

    ReplyDelete
  76. It's 'Aramis and Porthos" - is that right ;)

    ReplyDelete
  77. Commodities is such an epic episode I'd always recommend watching it ;) I actually watched it again after seeing this for the first time as it made me want to, lol

    ReplyDelete
  78. Yeah, I still call her his wife as there's no divorce unless the Pope grants it for them back then. Her marriage to Lord de Winter was bigamy essentially.

    ReplyDelete
  79. So true, the world is and its people are pretty much grey and until he realizes this he will have a drinking problem:)

    ReplyDelete
  80. Hmmm, as I've said below to xxxx, come find me in the poll on Friday. I really, really, really wanna talk about this after it airs! :)

    ReplyDelete
  81. Although since she's technically supposed to be dead, the legal definition of their current relationship is a little unclear.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Lord de Winter is probably entirely fictional.

    ReplyDelete
  83. Ok, so it starts with 'Aramis and Porthos.' Last guess for tonight, do we have 'friendship' in the second line?

    ReplyDelete
  84. That is whati am thinking. The story she told the king about Lord DeWinter is a lie maybe thought up by the Cardinal when he made her his agent.
At least in the current TV version there is a scene in Commodities where the cardinal is talking to Milady and pretty much says she was nothing until he pulled her out of the gutter and she became his creature

    ReplyDelete
  85. Athos thought she was dead but apparently some in the village had to know that Remi had saved her.

    ReplyDelete
  86. "If we're going to get out of this, we're going to have to work together" Athos to Rochefort?

    ReplyDelete
  87. Lol, the speaker is Porthos, Knitty got that part at the top of the comments, but yes he is saying it to Rochefort :)

    ReplyDelete
  88. Porthos and Rochefort... two of the most polite and calm people on the show. That's great xD
I wonder if someone is going to start notice Rochefort's obsession for the Queen.

    ReplyDelete
  89. “You think you know me but you don’t”
    Athos to the other Musketeers

    ReplyDelete
  90. 3rd line, 7th word in: phrase "Becomes his buddy"

    ReplyDelete
  91. What do u mean by a certain problem ? Are they trying to avoid each other ?

    ReplyDelete
  92. It is Athos speaking, but it is to just one other person.

    ReplyDelete
  93. "b****** his buddy" is correct.

    ReplyDelete
  94. Two of them are having a problem with each other at the moment, as part of one of the season's arcs that continues to grow with each episode.

    ReplyDelete
  95. Will we know what the problem is in the episode ?

    ReplyDelete
  96. It was introduced in the first episode. The hangman will reveal more details on it if you can't work out what it is.

    ReplyDelete
  97. About Lord DeWinter it's a lie but in the book she really married Lord DeWinter

    ReplyDelete
  98. Treville is the father of Porthos, not the General who died in ep1. That is my theory, The relationship in strife is that between Porthos and Treville.

Also if Milady said the words to Athos about him believing her and as we know he chose not to, he must shoulder much blame for what happened and that also reveals him in a different light - less sympathetic.

Catherineknew about the situation with Athos' brother and had a hand in the unfortunate outcome, hoping to get Athos for herself!

    ReplyDelete
  99. Hi Ares, welcome to the site :)

    ReplyDelete
  100. Afraid not, there's not y in it, and I made sure I double checked to make sure I haven't missed a letter out in that word too this time too, lol.

    ReplyDelete
  101. I actually hope they wouldn't go that way, as it would inevitably change their relationship, for better or worse for the rest of the show's run. I prefer the dynamic as it is now, with Treville as father figure to all of them rather than actual father to any. Things are bound to change anyway, with Porthos finding out what Treville knows about his past, but that's not as potentially devastating as finding out his mentor is actually his father.

    ReplyDelete
  102. Ah yes, I missed the other ys!

    ReplyDelete
  103. A point well made - would make for an awkward dynamic especially in series 3.

Anyway, back to the current episode - totally happy that they are back together (almost) and i don't have to fast forward the bits with too much Rocefort, (not the cheese), Anne and the baby at the palace.

I like Tom and Maimie together, best chemistry of the 'romance' pairings, adult and tense the way these things are in real life. D'artagnan and Constance too much whine (not the drinking sort either)!

    ReplyDelete
  104. I have no idea what is going to happen but I like the idea of Catherine having a hand in Milady's downfall. She can't be a big fan of Anne if she stole her fiancé away.
I was on the fence (leaning toward Milady) about believing her about Thomas.... if not trying rape her then trying to blackmail her into sleeping with him. I have a feeling this episode is going to help clear some things up and it will be not Milady evil and Athos righteous and that is fine with me, these are the kind of story lines I love.
I was thinkingthe two Musketeers who will not be getting along are Athos and Aramis but since the baby will not be involved in this weeks story maybe it is Porthos and Treville.

    ReplyDelete
  105. Athos to Catherine
It sounded like something Athos would say in this episode but to who? I am glad I got half right:)

    ReplyDelete
  106. Is the first word of the 3rd sentence 'Thomas'?

    ReplyDelete
  107. Just found this site recently, and I'm really enjoying the Musketeers section, Sandi! I've got partial guesses for the first and third sentences of the hangman.

First sentence: "Aramis and Porthos team up on a mission (*something*) away from the rest of the main issue."

Third sentence: "Aramis picks up on the issue because his buddy (*something something something*) the problem is."

I'm completely baffled by the second line.

    ReplyDelete
  108. "Aramis and Porthos team up on a mission together away from the rest of the main group."

    ReplyDelete
  109. Ambiguity at best. She not all bad, he not totally in the right. The brother blackmailing her 'cause he found out about her past makes sense, the price he wanted for her silence put Milady in a corner and she did what she had to do.

The line Athos delivered about 'her murders are on my head' are very true: if he had reacted differently to her pleas for help after the incident, the rest of both their lives would now be different. She would not have to murder/sleep with people hates and he wouldn't be an emotional wreck.

I hope this scenario is sorted by the end of this series. Give them a little cottage in the country where they can meet up once a month!

    ReplyDelete
  110. "You think you know me but you don't." Athos to d'Artagnan

    ReplyDelete
  111. Athos is surprisingly naive about most of the women in his life, imo.

    ReplyDelete
  112. “If I didn’t know you better, I’d say that sounded pretty cowardly” Treville to Athos?

    ReplyDelete
  113. “You think you know me but you don’t” I guessed this as Athos to d'Artagnan below, but I'm wondering now if it could be Porthos to Treville.

    ReplyDelete
  114. "I hope this scenario is sorted by the end of this series. Give them a little cottage in the country where they can meet up once a month!"
LOL that sounds like something Mamie said about Athos and Anne in an interview...that they might have a chance if they could just get away from everybody...but of course that was not going to happen :)

    ReplyDelete
  115. This is a hard one, but I think you may be right

    ReplyDelete
  116. “You think you know me but you don’t” Catherine to Athos or Porthos to Treville

    ReplyDelete
  117. “Let’s have some sport. We’ll run her down like a fox” Edmond to Renard

    ReplyDelete
  118. Another guess for the third hangman sentence: "Aramis picks up on the issue between his buddy and Treville and asks *** *** what the problem is."

    ReplyDelete
  119. Ok, so it's "between" his buddy and;

    ReplyDelete
  120. Aramis picks up on the issue between his buddy and treville ?

    ReplyDelete
  121. Hi there, welcome, glad you're enjoying here :)

They are pretty good guesses! The new letters added this afternoon might help out more.

    ReplyDelete
  122. It's one of his biggest flaws I think, unfortunately.

    ReplyDelete
  123. Could it be "asks the two what the problem is?"

    ReplyDelete
  124. I think I know what the problem is now. Aside from this I want to ask a question about episode 6, is there a major death in this episode or near the end of the season ?

    ReplyDelete
  125. Could that second sentence begin "As well as being...." ?

    ReplyDelete
  126. Well....goats are important too, I guess? LOL :D

    ReplyDelete
  127. Very, very close! Just one word wrong.

    ReplyDelete
  128. Hehe, that made me giggle :) You have two words correct there though :)

    ReplyDelete
  129. It might work! There was a goat standing behind Constagnan when they were snogging in the street last year. Maybe it's that one! ;)

    ReplyDelete
  130. Darn! I thought you had it, there!

    ReplyDelete
  131. Sorry, I am back and forth today so only just seen this. Yes, it's saving. I thought you'd get it from my comment to Anon below :)

    ReplyDelete
  132. See, and my brain's been turned on and off all day, because I read that and totally didn't get it...lol

    ReplyDelete
  133. Hehe, I know that feeling! I'm watching the follow up episode to last week's Banshee to write the preview, there was a major death in it so this one is dealing with the aftermath and is very emotional. I'm a bit all over the place this evening cos if it tbh :(( lol

    ReplyDelete
  134. .. And asks his pal what the problem is ?

    ReplyDelete
  135. I don't really answer many questions about future episodes until we get to that week. Mainly as I'd have to repeat myself a number of times as they get asked over again in different posts, but also it's easier to concentrate on one episode at a time tbh. But I have to say that any major death would be something I'd be very unlikely to reveal. That's big spoiler territory I'm afraid, so I don't think I would be allowed to go there. Plus, once something like is out there it's never kept quiet on social media unfortunately, therefore fans who don't want to know end up being spoiled when they don't want to be :(

That aside, we do know that Jess tweeted about a sad time on set towards the end of filming. So we are expecting something along those lines at some point.

    ReplyDelete
  136. correct! the hangman is solved, I'll just go edit :)

    ReplyDelete
  137. Sentence two, could the two missing words be "his pal", so "Aramis picks up on the issue between his buddy and Treville and asks his pal what the problem is."

    ReplyDelete
  138. “If I didn’t know you better, I’d say that sounded pretty cowardly” d'Artagnan to Athos

I'm sleep deprived, so I may have already guessed this, or someone did.

    ReplyDelete
  139. What an interesting thread you have here; infos, teasers, review and PUZZLES?! I really love it :)
Well as I'm still too behind, still in S1, I can't participate in the fun, but since it's an Athos centric episode and seems to have a kinda stand-alone plot, I'll watch it out of order. I hope I won't spoil it too much for myself and also not be left too confused! ;P

    ReplyDelete
  140. Athos is hard to resist. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  141. I love the hangman reveal. On screen time with Aramis and Porthos being buddies has been needed this series, imo.

    ReplyDelete
  142. That I totally agree with you. It's interesting I always had a more fondness to Aramis, from the book (I was too young that time and I loved him more b/c his name had a gentleness feel about it for me!), anime and especially 'The Man with Iron Mask'. But here I fell in love with Athos right away at the first sight! :D

    ReplyDelete
  143. We've had to have puzzles to keep us sane during the long, looooong waits between episodes. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  144. Porthos confiding his problems to Aramis, while Aramis is not doing the same. Sadness is coming.

    ReplyDelete
  145. LOL! I feel pretty lucky for escaping these long, looooooong waits, but at the same time I'm fretting about how I can overcome the agony when I catch up! ;p

    ReplyDelete
  146. How far have you got in S1?

    ReplyDelete
  147. ep 6. I'm trying to stall... to avoid my waiting doom!!! ;p

    ReplyDelete
  148. Oh don't stall, the last three episodes are the best of the series, imo! :D

    ReplyDelete
  149. To be fair, according to the hangman, it sounds like Aramis takes note whereas Porthos doesn't seem aware at all of Aramis' issues which I do find odd. You'd have thought he'd have noticed somethings amiss.

Are the letters that were voted before the new hangman bit was put up in it? Bit confused. Sorry.

    ReplyDelete
  150. To be fair to Aramis, sharing his secret would put Porthos in a lot of danger, just knowing his secret means that he can be tried for treason and risks losing his life. Porthos' problem, although it is a big issue for him, doesn't carry that sort of penalty with it. Aramis has also got his mojo back after the last episode, before now any taryness was mainly passed off as having an illicit affair with an unnamed woman as far as we saw.

    ReplyDelete
  151. Only the letters from the last two polls, L,T and H, and then I have given an extra bonus letter as I was out even later than I expected today and so didn't update until now, so you have a vowel added too, I. :)

    ReplyDelete
  152. Agreed, they make a great natural pairing, as do Athos & d'Artagnan too.

    ReplyDelete
  153. **/***/the/Athos/theme?

    ReplyDelete
  154. If you've seen Commodities then you shouldn't get too confused. Some parts of the start of this season will be slightly spoiled for you I guess, but that is something you will possibly have picked up anyway tbh. It's quite an important transitional episode for this season though, it may make you want to catch up so you can get to see what the outcome and ramifications will be for those involved, lol.

    ReplyDelete
  155. Once you've caught up the guys will be back at boot camp, then you can join us in the S3 filming and speculation thread as we see what's to come next year :)) Here's the link to last year's one in case you haven't seen it, it helped to pass the hiatus http://www.spoilertv.com/2014/04/the-musketeers-season-2-filming-updates.html

    ReplyDelete
  156. Not d'Artagnan I'm afraid. It's someone who hasn't spoken any of the other lines in the quotes.

    ReplyDelete
  157. Aww, you still got the bug? :( I mention in the text above the hangman that there was a second part to it if you managed to crack the first in time ;)

    ReplyDelete
  158. The "the" is right. I must admit that I didn't use any names in this sentence, it came together without needing to really.

    ReplyDelete
  159. The "The" is right. LMAO. Good to know we're making progress!

    ReplyDelete
  160. "As for the other three" maybe? I have a lot of blanks in the middle, but what I have so far is "As for the other three, ? - ? - this is still ? as the captain ? his ? and the other two..." no idea about the rest yet.

    ReplyDelete
  161. That's more or less it :)

"As for the other three, ***/**/th**/is still ********/as the Captain ****it*/his ****ti**/ and the other two *l**/h***/**/**ti****l/****i**/*****t."

    ReplyDelete
  162. "behaving" as the Captain?

    ReplyDelete
  163. How about the Baron to Athos

    ReplyDelete
  164. Still struggling with the end, but another try at the beginning: "As for the other three, one of them is still regarded as the captain despite his demotion and the other two ???"

    ReplyDelete
  165. S'what I said. Almost. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  166. You were very, very close. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  167. You need to get out of my head. ;) We always seem to post within seconds of each other, and almost exactly the same thing! It's freaky!!! :P

    ReplyDelete
  168. Well, great minds think alike. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  169. True. ;) Now if our great minds could just get the last three words!

    ReplyDelete
  170. Yeaaah...I think my great mind is done for today. All I have come up with for the past 10 minutes is nonsense.

    ReplyDelete
  171. I thought of 'antiviral' but that might be wrong.

    ReplyDelete
  172. LOL! That definitely would be an interesting sentence I'd like to read. :D I had "satirical". Unfortunately, both don't work because they have an "i" too many :(

    ReplyDelete
  173. We know that, but Porthos won't. The fact that he opened up to Aramis will only make him more angry and sad.
We need to prepare a blanket and a cup of hot cocoa for him. And hug him. And tell him that everything will be fine.

    ReplyDelete
  174. That's true, i find that odd too. Porthos (and even D'Artagnan) surely noticed Aramis dejected behaviour but didn't really questioned him... i mean, off screen he surely did and Aramis addressed the question like "i'm having an affair with a married woman" but nothing more than that... if i see my friend depressed for almost a year i would insist a bit for knowing what's going on. But i understand that for plot necessity Porthos has to find out in a more dramatical way. And i have to admit it... i'm sorry for Porthos A LOT but at the same time i can't wait.

    ReplyDelete
  175. Totally stumped here. Could the last word be 'secret'?

    ReplyDelete
  176. But the hangman says 'Aramis asks his pal'. Porthos may not have said anything otherwise or still may not share- we haven't seen the ep.
I do think its interesting that more hasn't been made of the fact the others don't know Aramis' secret. Then again we haven't seen them alone together much which is one of my pet peeves this series. Athos knows and yet he seems to have done nothing to support or even unsupport some of Aramis' actions besides the odd raised brow.
I think they'll all need those blankets and cocoa at some point...lol

Could it be 'the other two also have an optional...'

    ReplyDelete
  177. Kinda posted my reply at the same time as you posted this. Lol. Sorry if it seems like I didn't take you on.
I do feel sorry for Porthos in some ways but at the same time I want him out of it. I want Athos to step up more...Can't help but think Aramis would do better with more support.

    ReplyDelete
  178. I just looked and even though my version has the right number of *** in it, the one in this post doesn't :s I've just edited it, sorry. Dunno how the heck that happened!

    ReplyDelete
  179. I have just edited the hangman, there was the wrong amount of *** in it, I'm sorry :)

    ReplyDelete
  180. I have no idea either. So also no idea if it could be secret...lol I either need another letter or someone else to solve the rest of this.

    ReplyDelete
  181. We're screwed then! You're usually the one who gets it! ;)
