Thanks to Jovan for the heads up

According to the CBS schedule, repeats of The Big Bang Theory will be airing in place of The McCarthys on February 5th and 12th.

  1. Sorry for the fans, but with HTGAWM back, Elementary needs all the help it can get, and TBBT repeats will definitely do better at 9:30.

  2. Then... Why did CBS even bother ordering two more episodes?

  3. CBS should've pull TMcC & Stalker a lot sooner. CBS should've moved CSI back to Wed at 10 to paved way for Cyber; Elementary to Sunday at 10 - better fit out of TGW and sacrificed Stalker against these last episodes of HTGAWM.

  5. Beyond ridiculous. Last time I watch a CBS comedy. Between Crazy Ones last season and McCarthys this season, I'm tired of being burned by CBS's ineptitude.

  6. Why should they be propping up a show that's bled viewers like Elementary has? It was apparently Two and a Half Men's fault last season that nobody watched Ekementary and apparently this season, it's The McCarthys'. Could it be possible that Elementary's decline is due to Elementary?

  10. Elementary did just fine last season, regardless of Two and a Half Men. Elementary's ratings were low because 1. viewer fatigue over the season 2 plot; 2. a late October start; 3. HTGAWM as strong competition; 4. The McCarthy's as a terrible lead-in.

The slight ratings recovery in January show the competition was part of it, and Elementary did better with TBBT lead-in. Between a ratings recovery, creative resurgence, and very lucrative syndication deal, Elementary will be fine, even if it leaves the Thursday slot. The bigger question is why CBS didn't pull the worst-performing comedy since last season's We Are Men. They would have been better off renewing The Crazy Ones (RIP).

  14. CBS ineptitude? Why should CBS have to keep a low rated show on the air if they dont want to? Where is the benefit in it for them?

  15. also low rated and deserving of cancellation

  16. I just don't get why they would have pulled it from the schedule the ratings were good. They had an average of 7 million viewers on first-run episodes. That's pretty good and the show was funny as hell.

  19. CBS had a horrible November sweeps. And had an excellent January. They probably want to maintain some kind of momentum for February sweeps, as it is unlikely they will win the February sweeps (because of the SB and the Oscars). To do (at least) decently, they needed to pull series that will drag them down. I expect "Elementary" will still do badly, but maybe not as badly. The series needs a new timeslot, and then new writers. (The quality sunk last spring, and did not improve this season). I can understand TMcC being removed.

  20. Every new CBS show I watch gets cancelled. I have a taste for CBS's DOA shows lol
