I am so in love w/this show! What an amazing episode. I loved every single minute of it. It had me on the edge of my seat at times. Very intense, good episode.
I was w/Rick the entire time. I love him, and considering all the freaks and psychos they have met and/or trusted (i.e., the Governor, the claimed freaks, the two guys looking for "cooze" in S2, the cannibals, Dawn), it was completely understandable to me why Rick was super cautious! You really have to be in a ZA.
I also understood everyone else's hope and desires to get to a safe place. Michonne clearly needed this, and I get it. They have been fighting so long and have lost so many people. She and Glenn really wanted to be able to trust people again and feel safe again.
Oh, and the Dale moment was great and sad. When Glenn went and found the battery, I almost teared up thinking of Dale.
Good to see Glenn as the voice of reason, he's disappeared for the past several episodes. I don't get why they would trust this place and walk right up to the gates, but whatever works. Great episide overall.
Yea this was such an awesome episode, it was everything we needed it to be. A step up from the last episode (which I really loved), keeping us on the edge of our seats. Feelings of caution, uncertainty, hope and finally release. Can't wait to see what Alexandria will bring to this chapter in The Walking Dead!
Another well done episode. It moved along faster then what I thought it would. To end up at the gate by the end was nice. Rick not trusting Aaron (who would?) but it was really great for Michonne to speak up. I think Rick has new co leader. But the part the showed us from next week is concerning. They open the gate but we don't see any children playing. And the classic line of "hand over your weapons." I wouldn't take them up on any food just yet. lol I think we can expect it to slow down for an episode or two. Which I don't mind, It will be nice to see if our group and "fit in" to the community and just try to feel normal for a little while.
Ever since Rosita appeared on the walking dead, I have been thinking, "i know her from somewhere... but where?" Finally, today I realized, Rosita is Susie from Ned's Declassified!!
well done ep that sets up the Alexandria and eventually the Negan plot from the comics. I liked the opposing viewpoints within the group and understand the need both of them. Nice to get a little more from the other characters (Abraham/Rosita), and wonder when some of the others will cycle back for some screen time, but it's hard with a cast this big.... I am wondering when the Morgan character will make another appearance...
Morgan will appear in ASZ after they are there a few more weeks...remember Morgan is still Weeks behind Rick... i think for sure on the Season Finale...☺...
Great episode. It showed us two unique ways to kill a bunch of walkers. (1) Push them over a bridge, (2) Ask Glenn to drive :).
This episode was about how the group should prepare their minds for the future. Maggie asks how long they have to go, but she doesn't mean in miles. She means how long do they have to suffer the mortal coil of life in those conditions. (That's how I interpret the title, The Distance). Rick advises thinking of themselves as the walking dead, thus numbing themselves to the terrible things they have to do to survive. Noah confides in Sasha that he doesn't think he'll make it, inspiring Sasha to come up with my favorite line from the episode: "Don't think. Just eat." (I'll have to use that line on my friends who worry overly much about the nutritional value of every meal. LOL.)
Much more solid writing now than in the first several seasons. Like how they're starting to explore the leadership qualities of other characters; interested to see how that will impact Rick and the group going forward.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Amazing episode !!!

ReplyDeleteGlenn made Walker Salad on that road with the car :)
ReplyDeleteI still have to agree with Rick on this one. After Woodbury and Terminus, I'd be real cautious about walking into another gated community.
I liked how they focused alot of the ep on trust and learning to trust again. But I was happy Rick stashed a gun close by.

She's also Angela from the Twilight movies.
ReplyDeleteI am just glad they finally going too A I hope it is someplace too stay but not getting my hopes up there too.
ReplyDeleteThe first episode since "Four Walls and a Roof"(5x03) that I consider to be great! I love these new characters and I'm excited about the next episode!
