    It was a great episode so sad that Liz died again why is Enzo still alive when Bonnie still stuck in that prison world Caroline and Stefan kiss was sweet I like them as friends though maybe I'm bias because I just don't like friends or siblings getting involved with the same people

    There was more Damon/Liz stuff in this episode than in the past three seasons combined, which was absolutely fantastic. Loved it. So, because of that, I gave the episode an "awful." (Still no Bonnie)

    It was such a filler episode.


    I'm annoyed Damon (Caroline's rapist) spent the last day with Liz instead of Caroline (who was too busy kissing Stefan).


    I don't think Jeremy will be a good vampire hunter - he couldn't even take Enzo in this episode. Enzo continues to be an annoyance and I wish Jeremy had manged to kill him.

    Fantastic episode, in my opinion, one of the top 10 episodes ever on this show, tvd is growing up, maturing, and season 6 has definitely surpassed season 4 and 5. Great return to form!

    I always liked the Damon/Liz friendship. Losing Liz was sad, but I really feel the show dragged this out way too long. The same with Jeremy's leaving. OMG, they made such a big deal out of it. I really could care less that he's leaving. He was barely doing anything on the show all season. The Caroline/Stefan thing, it's okay, but I don't know if I care too much about it. And OMG, the Enzo stuff, please just get rid of him, Matt, and this new Salvatore. I could care less. Boring. So, yeah, it was a filler ep. I feel like this show is so played out. Kai and Bonnie are all that can liven it up, otherwise, I think the whole show should be buried already.

    this whole season has been a filler, and maybe don't thrown around the term rapist, and all it implies, so cavalierly. no where in the series is it even implied that he raped Carolina. just
    because he compelled her to forget he was a Vampire does not mean he did
    so to sleep with her. do you think a character like Carolina would be
    friendly much less amicable with someone who had?

    he didnt rape her in season 1, he merely made her accept that he was a vampire and not be afraid of him, so that he could have a human blood bag to feed off of without leaving a body count.

    Shout out to Shannon,:)))))))))) I told you this week. I had my pretzels ready and threw 1/2 the nowl at the T.V.,, but Steroline wouldn't listen. They looked so uncomfortable, miss matched:(((((:lol.

    Damon did a wonderful job tonight. I never thought of him viewing Liz as his a mom type for him. That was very sweet.

    I knew Jeremy wasn't going anywhere. He will kill Enzo...When,, is the operative word. I Can't stand .
    him.
    Quick ?,, How do you get a car to go Vamp Speed? Enzo's Car did. lolol

    Mattie & Jeremy again? Please,, Will Damon, someone,, just kill Enzo already,, again!!
    RIP,, Elizabeth Forbes. You were an Awesome Mystic Falls Sheriff. Your character, is really going to be missed on the TVD Program.

    You know what I found strange?

    All the cold cases sheriff Forbes & Damon went threw,, and not one of them was about Uncle Zack, Sarah's mom and all the guests at that party,, when Damon supposedly ran amok and killed almost everyone there.. Did I miss something?

    I thought this was a very good episode. The Damon/Liz moments were great. Loved the interactions between Elena and Jeremy (there really hasn't been much of that lately), and of course the Caroline/Stefan moments were great. I really like the way that relationship has developed. Really sad to see Liz go.
    The only bad parts: Enzo kidnaps Jeremy and threatens his life and when Elena asks him about it, he casually mentions Enzo and dismisses it and Elena doesn't ask him anything else. I don't know what's more annoying...Enzo's continued presence in this show, the fact that he gets more screentime than Bonnie, or the fact that none of the other characters are trying to do anything about him. He needs to be killed off now.

    HahaHahahaha!! Thank you very much!!! I almost choked on my chocolate bar. LOL true story. I won't calm down til possibly Saturday. I'm actually rewatching their scenes right now. And will do so, for the rest of the night.

    Idt Damon thought of her as a "mother figure" ever. That was just his best friend. But I do however feel that in her final moments, he definitely thought of his own mother. I'm glad he was there with her. It made me think of the time he stayed with Alaric in his final moments. Liz did love Damon, in her own twisted way, just like Alaric, so the fact that she was really comforted by him being there. Was just really nice. At least for me. And Caroline still got to say goodbye. So I enjoyed everything between the three of them.

    Enzo's car did go vamp speed didn't it?? Ughh. I hate him so much.

    Stefan had to keep a hold of the back of her neck to bring her in for a kiss. He was afraid she would run away, yelling for help. lololololol.

    I guess if Elena can get high,, and eat French Fries covered it ketchup,, like humans,, then the cars that are owned by Vampires become "Cravamps" or just plain Cramps!!!! lmbo,, what are you eating or drinking now? Did it come out your nose??

    So this is what we had to sacrifice for fu*king steroline? Really? There was no other way than to force it this hard? WOW. And Enzo "serves absolutely no purpose in anything that has to do with actual writing" is still alive for some unknown reason? Damn, I don't normally care a whit about shipping, couples, etc. Could care less. But when writing gets sacrificed to this point only to please a fanbase? Terrible. And no, I don't ship Delena, Stelena, qelena, 8elena, or ?elena.


    I will grant the Damon/Liz scenes were very well done, just 2 old comrades at the end, making jokes and keeping it like a true friendship is. RIP Liz, you got thrown out for no good reason.

    and since you asked (because it not painfully obvious) what does "making myself feel better have to do with it?" I'm not talking about your fucking life or physical state, its an expression. meaning you have clearly ascribed and have preconceived notions about that character/relationship (am I'm sure a lot else on this shitty show) and thus having someone "agree" with you "makes you feel better" because its justify your opinion/ how you see things.

    the fact that you got offended/annoyed by that simple statement says more about you then me. but thanks for using your "limited energy" to tell me how precious your "limited energy" is and how you can't me bothered to waste it when in fact the only person who is wasting it is you.

    Positive:
    +Damon and Liz scenes. Just so simply amazing. They saved the episode for me. I enjoyed every moment of them on screen. It's a shame we didn't explore their friendship like this in the past seasons. I realized I love their dynamic just when we were about to lose one half of their duo.
    + The final moments. I admit. I shed tears. I DON't SHED TREARS while watching TV shows. So I give them that.

    Not what I was expecting and a seemingly odd choice by the writers I think. When Liz almost died the first time, it was all about Elena, this time it was about Damon. I liked the scenes between them (Liz & Damon) but I think I would have appreciated them a bit more, if they hadn't come at the expense of even a small amount of closure for her and Caroline. I've been told this needed to happen though, so that we'll believe what happens to Caroline next. *shrug*


    Enzo continues to be the worst, but no Tyler or Liz though so hooray for that.
    Really, really, missing Bonnie and Kai.

    I really don't think that's why she died. All plots are intertwined and that's just how good stories are written. I'm guessing that if Caroline and Stefan got together under a different circumstance, the same people would find a different reason to complain about it.

    Pretty powerful episode.
    Caroline-Stefan~Candice absolutely killed itthis episode,i was in tears when she broke down at the end.Although i'mstruggling to come to terms with the idea of steroline as a couple,the
    moments between them in the cabin were wonderfully shot and edited.The
    background score was exceptional.I also loved how stefan helped her to
    be able to say final goodbye to her mom-that was beautiful.
    Damon-Liz~For a moment,i thought the accident of elena's parents was not a mere
    accident & was kinda bummed when they confirmed it finally after
    years of speculation,i still loved the idea why they brought this topic
    in this episode.Liz wanted to find a reson so badly so that her own
    death would make somewhat sense to her.Unfortunately life is harsh &
    doesn't work that way.All the moments between liz and damon were pure
    gold.The scene where she said-I'm exceptionally ordinary & i'm okay
    with that.caroline is anything but-tears were flowing.Powerful
    moment,well done writers!
    Jeremy~I'll kinda miss him but his purpose on this show has been nil since the hunter track concluded in season 4.I
    loved elena & jer's bonding moments- i kinda liked elena in those
    moments,that's a win right there!The end twist is very controversial
    like katherine's exit but i never bought into the idea of him being
    happy in a art school.We never saw him do anything remotely related to
    art since season 1,so him being a vampire hunter makes his arc more
    logical & rational.I didn't like that alaric was actively
    encouraging his decision but as he said he is an adult and he respected
    his decision.Alaric is in for deep trouble once this secret slips out
    and it will inevitably.I hope we get to see him once more when bonnie
    finally comes back-i need their goodbye to move on from him completely.
    Enzo-sarah-matt~I have no idea where this storyline is heading and it's purpose in this
    show in the first place.His revenge plan stopped making sense a long
    time ago.I really hope by the end of the season,his storyline leads
    to some other interesting arc,otherwise this whole arc is pointless.I
    feel really sorry for Michael malarkey.No series regular should be
    burdened with this kind of crap storyline TBH!
    I didn't even miss kai/bonnie this episode.I liked that stefan let tyler know sheriff's
    condition or caroline acknowledging the fact she should've been with her
    instead of having cabin romance(or whatever they were trying to
    do).Good continuity there writers!
    Next week seems very tragic.I can't wait to hear damon's eulogy!

    Ok i have managed to somehow pul myself together. SO here is my review. (its gonna be super long)


    I think this was THE MOST EMOTIONAL EPISODE IN TVD HISTORY. I mean I knew watching Sheriff Forbes breathe her last would be sad, but my God, TVD Writers, you have really outdone yourselves this time ! What a wrecking episode this was ! ! To get into specifics:


    JEREMY:
    i absolutely loved the brother sister moments that Jer and Elena shared. It thought it was long overdue. But i do think it was time for Jeremy as a character to leave the show. I only wish he would have really just left for art school and had what could be closest thing to a normal happy life as far as Vampire Diaries and MF was concerned. The whole twist of him going to be a vampire hunter when he couldn't even save himself from ONE vampire (enzo), is just baffling to me. I mean, his sister is a vampire for crying out loud, you would think he would be a little more sympathetic. And Alaric actually encouraging him? I donno, I din't really like it. I like twists as much as the next person, but i feel this was overkill.


    ENZO:
    2 words - KILL HIM. This dude just wasted a lot of screen time today. I would have rather have watched delena or liz-damon or steroline rather than this english baffoon act out his retarded plan.


    MATT:
    What are you doing Matty Blue Eyes ?? I think its time you called one of your vampire buddies for help, coz this is getting way out of line and you are in way too deep to fish yourself out.


    DAMON & LIZ:
    omg, LIZ's goodbye scene where she says I did everything right... OMG i did not see that coming.. I was not ready for one of the the most emotional moments in TVD history. When she says 'I'm exceptionally ordinary ... I'm ok with that, caroline is anything but. she was meant to be extraordinary and she needs to know how proud I am of her".. EPIC EPIC ACTING. McIntyer really brought her A game... i think this is basically why Damon comforts Caroline next episode. Coz he knows thats what Liz would have wanted. . . I think this is a foundation for Damon and Caroline to maybe become friends, coz they never really were 'friends'....


    STEROLINE:
    Where do I begin? I think that kiss will go down as the most romantic kiss TVD has ever given us. The way Stefan tucked her hair behind her ear . He wanted her to look at him when he admitted that hearing her say that she hated him was the worst thing. Stefan's expression when she said - we both know i never hated you.. that was the moment he finally let his guard down and gave in to the rush of emotion he was feeling for Caroline. And that kiss...The way he inched towards her, like theres no way he could resist kissing her at that moment, the first kiss - slow and unsure and then in perfect symphony they both kiss with more fervor, his hand framing her face, not wanting to let go PERFECTION ! I liked that after the kiss, throughout their talk his hand never left her face, he dint wanna let go. I love how he looked at her after the kiss was done - with trepidation, as though saying - pls tell me you felt the same way i did; pls don't pull away. the fact that they were both speechless and in awe of the raw emotion that they experienced... omg.. I died a million deaths watching this ! !


    CAROLINE & LIZ'S DEATH
    I have to say that one reason I absolutely love Caroline's character is because, even though she is the judgy one, there is no one she judges more harshly than herself. She is her own worst critic and she does not give herself a break. When she said -- but I am her daughter i should have been here..broke my heart. I was so relieved when Stefan helped her say goodbye through Liz's memory. The smile on Liz's face just before she died as she relived that memory. it was beautiful. And when it was time to let go. . .The episode ended with damon turning off the machine, but the tears continued to flow.

    Can i also say ? This was Candice Accola's finest moment. Just when I thought she couldn't add more layers to 'Caroline'... BAM, her performance just blew me away. The way her voice was small and faltering, her expression when they kissed..phew..she just took this character to a whole new level.. ! ! ! Somebody needs to give her an award !

    They were having a moment. Deal with it. Coz people are not one dimensional beings to just feel one emotion all the time. We are capable of feeling multiple, even conflicting emotions and thats what this is about.


    The conversation started about death, then after he took her hand, she confronted him with what she overheard her mom say to him. At that moment there was no way he was going to just let her believe that he was there coz her mom asked him to, because it wasn't true. You must remember that after she said she hated him, they never officially got over that road block, she never took it back and he never had the chance to talk to her about it with everything going on. So when she asked him why he was here, he obviously had to address the issue, because it was clearly bothering him. He never said it out loud before coz maybe at first he was scared she would say she hated him again and later coz there really wasn't room for his emotional drama. SO he kept it buried...till he couldn't anymore. So he said it. He said it was the worst thing he had heard in a long time. And when she replied that she never really hated him...well.. the Stefan Salvatore Emotional Control walls came crashing down. . .. it was just the most natural thing in the world and if you can't see that,.then your blind.

    The kiss between Stefan and Caroline was one of the most beautiful that I ever saw on TV. Seriously, it was perfect: the acting, the music, the light, the landscape.... It was so romantic, beautiful, adorable, perfect, sweet, kind... I don't think it was forced at all. Paul Wesley and Candice Accola have an amazing chemistry. It will be good to see Stefan be himself in a relationship. He was always worried with Elena, which was so annoying. And then, Liz died. I cried during the last 15 minutes. Brilliant acting from Candice Accola and Marguerite MacIntyre. I will miss Liz for sure. And Bye bye Jeremy. I was not sad about that. But about Enzo, just have a life! Get over it. I can't believe that Matt is helping him.

    Huh,, I had Stefan holding onto the back of Caro's neck so she wouldn't go running screaming for help. There was no where for her to go. She had to stand there and accept it. I'm going to pay fro this when Shannon reads it. (She is MIA in happiness until tomorrow.:))

    I agree...I was almost certain that this was the case she was going to show Damon. Especially since Sheriff Forbes was in one of the flashback scenes with Sarah's mom and uncle Zack. I guess that would have completely changed the dynamics between her and Damon right before her death and the writers didn't want to go there. They prefer that people forget all the bad things that Damon did.

    Hey Lynne to be heard from you - To be honest for great writing in drama series I watch Scandal, for great comedy Big Bang for Sci-fi fantasy, escape from reality and show best paired with a good glass of red wine, I might add, I watch TVD -.


    And, Hell Yes, if I were dying I can't think of a better way to kick the bucket then having a HOT immortal stud at my bedside - who wouldn't. Yes, this show has been predictable, and talk about soap opera drama, yes from the beginning - Stefan writing in his journal about his tormented life - can't get more sappy, soap opera then that - I would just like to suggest everyone just enjoy the ride.

    Well Damon did compel her (Liz) to leave the party,, and she hadn't recalled since of ever being there. I have been taking this show with a grain of salt ever since episode 4 of S4. Too many plot holes, they have never been filled in or explained. The ONE thing that did accur to me,, is that Sheriff forbes said Dr. Gilbert never hit his breaks before they went off the bridge.
    Also how nonchalant she was about Damon's killing all those people and not 1 word of reprimand.
    The scene with Caro and her mom,, you mien they couldn't come up with her mom telling her how much she loves her and how proud she is of her. But a Bicycle to let her know she has let her go to grow? I'm sorry,, if there are those who thought that scene was sweet,, but as a mom myself,, that was beyond lame. Obviously whom ever wrote that scene is not a parent imo.

    I was also expecting a real goodbye between Caroline and her Mom when she tapped into her thoughts (like what Damon did with Rose). But I have to admit that the flashback scene with the bicycle made me tear up, which is a rare thing for The Vampire Diaries to achieve (and there have been many deaths on this show!). Maybe I'm seeing it from the perspective of a daughter rather than a mother, but I didn't find it lame at all. To me, that entire scene in the hospital room was executed beautifully by everyone.

    I apologize for the lame,, it wasn't lame,, I just really wanted a mushy scene for lack of a better word. The time spent between the two in her Liz's last days,, would/should have been a little more realistically done. Too much Hodge-podge interference. I love the Salvatore boys,, but was not into Damon giving the Eulogy,, But that was the only way the writers could think of to introduce Their Mother coming into the picture.

    I disagree with the way new Sl are introduced to the show. IMO it is done in a tacky way. I understand what they are trying to do, but I disagree with the approach.

    No worries, you don't have to apologize for having a different perspective! I can completely understand some people wanting more of a mushy goodbye mother/daughter scene. I've never been a big fan of the long tearful goodbye scenes, so I actually liked the way that the writers incorporated Liz' illness into all the various different plots. For starters, it gave her tons of screentime in her final days (which would have been difficult to do otherwise) and it also allowed her to have a final moment with practically every major cast member. I guess they could have had tons of tearful goodbye scenes between Liz and various characters, but there's only so much screen time one can allocalte to that. Also, having Liz interact with all of the various characters under "normal" circumstances that didn't revolve around her illness, just helped to remind me of how awesome her character really was. In some ways, I think that it was probably the best way to serve her memory.


    You have to love The Vampire Diaries. Of all the shows I watch, it's the one where viewers are least likely to agree on anything! LOL

    I agree about the long tearful goodbye scenes,, it is just that Liz & Caro,, have/had a very tight relationship,, even through all the crazy super natural happenings in town and to her and her family. I mien, Geez,, she even allowed Klaus in her house to heal Caro.
    This is/was a great character, which unfortunately,, left more more holes with her leaving the show. But I have a feeling that is the plan.
    lolol,, You are correct there. The reason for these threads is to share opinions even if everyone see's things from a different angle,, doesn't mien they are wrong,, but should add spice to the discussion.
    Many times you will find someone else s perspective to be totally different then your own,, or another poster can freak you out and say HEY,, I like that idea. And your system immediately go's into SHOCK. lolol

    i guess i'm the only one on planet earth who hates the idea of stefan and caroline together....i just really hate them two together...I really wanted them to put enzo and her together...and it sucked how now they have made enzo so annoying i wish stefan or someone would snatch his heart out...gosh he gets on my nerves...anyway, i thought the moment with caroline remembering a childhood moment was soo cute...a real tear jerker...probably the most authenticate part of the episode...really sweet...i hate that they wrote jeremey out before bonnie returned...they deserved to have a proper goodbye...I'm still waiting on the off chance that bonnie and damon will have more scenes together but since this show is basically the delena diaries ...i doubt that will happen...over all the episode wont bad at all..its just enzo is annoying and i really wanted stefan and caroline to REMAIN JUST FRIENDS.

    that kiss will go down as the most well executed, moving, beautiful, romantic moment in TVD history. The lighting according to me was perfect. The mood was perfect. It just doesn't get more picture perfect than this.


    Caroline's hesitation was right on. He has snubbed her twice so far. And his out of the blue revelation that hearing her say she hated him was the worst thing, the way he said it, like his heart was breaking... I'm sure that was a lot to take in for her. All along she was convinced that he was here only coz he promised her mom; and here he is baring his soul to her and being vulnerable. it was unexpected. And his reaction to her saying - we both know i never really hated u -- I think it was Paul Wesleys better performances to date. it was like, "i don't know what i would have done if you had told me otherwise. All this while I've ben dying inside, you just set me free" He inched fwd - that took her by surprise. Till he finally kissed her, she dint want to believe that he would. She dint want to get hurt again. Thats very much understandable. N when he did kiss her, it was soft and he paused for her to kiss him back, and she did, and it was passionate i felt. It wasn't rip your clothes and hv sex passionate, it was passionate for someone who wasn't expecting this at all, someone who almost can't believe this is happening. someone who is going through a lot of emotions. It was beautiful. And the way they looked at each other when it was done..... took my breath away.

    Wow - that recap was amazing!!! I must have watched it at least 10X Just one additional comment - if I may - when Car. says "one of us should probably say something" and Stef. says "go for it" & Car. says "not that" - I just loved that last little exchange - So much for them to process in that moment - I am sure Caroline's mind was all over the place and I love how Stefan was certain about his actions once he finally decided to "go for it". Caroline had been so focused on Liz's death that this small moment of joy and hope for the future during the saddest moment of her life was so bittersweet.
