Very interesting turn of events. It would have been nice to see Henry as a good guy trying to redeem himself, which they hinted at for a split second a few episodes ago. But as a baddie, his character's arc was growing stale, so no surprise to see him die. Great to see Irving alive and well, I had a feeling he would bite the dust, but there is so much more they can do with his character and Jenny. This would have been the perfect way to end the season, I wonder how they are going to top this in next weeks finale!
I really enjoyed this episode! The time travel reversal was good, and I felt bad for Abbie. It's good that she is going to immediately hook up w/Crane though.
Is anyone else sick of Katrina? I know Henry is her son, but come on! Next week's episode should be really good! Can't wait to see what happens!
I wonder if they will bring henry back though? They can always write it so that instead of being sent to purgatory, Katrina who still has the grimoire fends off her coven before they can do so. Then goes on to get henry and go into hiding.
While I wouldn't mind them hooking up eventually, I meant "hook up" in the sense that she will meet up w/him. As a black woman, I feared for Abbie when she got thrown back to 1781! It's good she's going to meet up w/Crane!
Please forgive me, but................I REALLY LIKE NEW EVIL KATRINA (did that 8!TC# really try to kill Abbie)! Abbie and Crane's scenes were brilliant as always (these two could do the series by themselves). Did anyone notice Abbie's arrival (the carriage) scene was the same as Ichabod's arrival (the truck) scene? Jenny and Irving were great together. Can we make it official now that Sleepy Hollow has the best opening on TV (10 minutes of intro, then Katrina raises her arms in the middle of the woods to signal the beginning)............just saying. FOX renew this series...................RIGHT NOW! 4 THE SLEEPY HEAD ARMY, I am still Nobody!!!
Great to see Irving and Jenny alive and well, I had a feeling either one would bite the dust, but there is so much more they can explore with their characters. Having read yesterday's advance preview about a major character death, and then seeing Irving chasing after Jenny tonight, I was friggin' TERRIFIED for her. I kept yelling, "Run! Go! Hide!" at her throughout. And I breathed one hell of a sigh of relief when neither one of them bit it. I had a feeling Irving wouldn't die, 'cause I just didn't think the show would do that to him twice in such a short time span...but still...and I was torn, because I wanted Jenny to get away from Irving, but I wanted Irving to be okay, too! Now I just hope he IS indeed back to normal, and there aren't any lingering effects. Much as I like John Noble and liked his portrayal of Henry, I'm okay with his death being the one that happened this episode. And considering this show's all about the supernatural, there's no reason they can't find a way to bring Noble back down the line if need be for the story. I too liked the ending with Abbie winding up in ye olde Sleepy Hollow, and the instrumental version of "Sympathy for the Devil" playing (neat version, too, by the way). But the idea of her being held captive? That I am rather nervous and wary about. I was a bit surprised to see her just randomly wandering around town, actually...but maybe she just thought she'd stumbled on a reenactment or something? I dunno. As for Katrina? Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesh. On the one hand, I loved seeing her powers in full force and seeing her all fierce tonight. On the other hand, I'm really conflicted over the idea of her going full on evil. Seeing her trying to attack Abbie HURT. A lot. That's not the kind of evil I would've wanted from her, especially considering that while she and Abbie were at odds throughout the season, they still worked together on occasion and Abbie was willing to try and see her side of things. I'm hoping somehow that she's under some spell of Henry's or something, or, considering the whole "change the course" thing next week, she gets a chance to redeem herself somehow, even if it does mean her making some sort of ultimate sacrifice. Guess we'll see. That, and the idea of Abbie being held captive, are the only parts of the episode I'm really conflicted and wary about, respectively. The rest of it, though, I liked. Pretty intense hour.
I knew Katrina was going to turn bad since last season. Now if they can kill her off and move on that would be great. Love the twist of Abigail travelling back in time and seeking Ichabod
Holy effin' shiz!!!! THAT. WAS. FREAKING. AWESOME. My only regret? That more witches weren't awakened. That would be such an excellent element to add to the series. Also... Hoping Katrina gets over this dark crap and gets a redemption arc eventually however, I am loving Dark Katrina while she's around, she is awesome.
Kinda surprised they killed Henry. A sign of the coming reboot (technically the second) I suppose, which I hope isn't too extreme.
Also... Loved the last scene in the past. Loved the nod to the pilot with the Sympathy for the Devil with old instruments and the sign... I actually wouldn't mind if the next six episodes took place in the past, assuming the show gets picked up. Which I really hope it is because I have really enjoyed these past few episodes. Can't wait for the finale.
Also want to mention how disappointed I am with the obvious plot changes from the pilot. For one example, the one that disappoints me most... It is heavily hinted that Sleepy Hollow is already crawling with "active" witches. Yet now their powers are dormant? Okay. And Corbin's case files in general. Not only could it have been used as a doorway into the mythology but excuses to get some flashbacks etc. I wonder what made them ditch it.
Omg!!! The last ten minutes were crazy! I'll be honest, I didn't care for the episode as a whole, but the last ten min really pulled me in. Poor Abbie! She is Sooo screwed! And as a black woman, I'm really mad that she's there, but it's also very exciting. Lol. Holy shit!
Ok, I'm gonna be honest. I really don't care that Henry is dead. Which is odd. I mean I think I would've but I was so over his "Mommy/Daddy" issues longggg ago, and tonight he just sounded like this blubbering cry baby, that I couldn't take him anymore. Every scene he had with Katrina just bothered me. "I needed you. You need me. I need a coven. It'll be the two of us. Father isn't one of us." I mean WE GET IT! Shut up already. Now, granted, I didn't expect him to die in this episode, but I can't say that I mourned it either. So. R.I.P. Henry/Jeremy/ Sin Eater/Horseman. And thanks for giving Irving his soul back. Even if it was unintentional.
Jenny and Irving - I didn't feel the "thrill" with them that I usually get. Maybe b/c it wasn't really Irving? Idk, I just wanted their scenes to be more. I felt their scenes were wasted. They spent the whole episode running from one another, shooting at one another, she didn't get to use the head, then they shared a hug. (Which was really sweet. And my shipping feels came into play for like 3 seconds. Lol) That was it. That kinda bummed me out. BUT, I'm very glad that Irving is alive, as is Jenny.
Ichabbie - I really can't catch a break with these two can I? Ichabod finally gets a clue, and Abbie's sent to the past...awesome. They've been on different pages for weeks, and when they finally get back on the same page, they're separated through time. I'm reallyyyyyy worried for them right now. This is really mind blowing. Definitely a game changer, I'm not even sure I could process a thought, about how crazy it can get with this SL. What's going to hurt me most about Ichabod and Abbie's separation is Jenny's reaction, when Ichabod figures it out. Poor Jenny! She will be FREAKING OUT!
Katrina - I'm not even gonna rag on her tonight. I'm tired. And I'm sure 95% of the fanbase has done it already. I just have ONE FREAKING REQUEST! If you're going to make her "evil" which by the looks of it, you did, and I'm all for it, if that can make her the barest smidgen of interesting, then PLEASE tell Katia to CHANGE HER PERFORMANCE! Give her a deeper voice, some type of attitude, a different walk, a freaking haircut!! SOMETHING to differentiate her between..."Katrina". I can't take her breathless talking, and her bug eyed looks ANY longer. If you're gonna make her evil. Then make me freaking believe it. Don't just write the script, and have her play it the exact same way. (That was a huge problem for me in that Grundy/witch trial episode, her "ancestor" was her with blonde hair. Smh) If we get a season 3, work on it. FAST! Before filming!
Anyways, the last ten minutes were really good. I just want to clarify, i Didn't hate the episode, just the last ten minutes were really exciting for me. More of an "eye catcher" If i may. Time to start thinking of theories. Next week...This is it.
great ep... the IC/AM scenes as always were great, not sure yet how I feel about the turning of Katrina as it feels a bit abrupt, but they really didn't have a long run up of eps to set the wheels in motion... it kinda reminds me of the Dark Willow plotline from BtVS, but we'll see how this will turn out... didn't see that killing of Henry coming and wonder if this time travel history being rewritten will result him him remaining on the show or if there will be a reboot like some have mentioned... in any event the character pretty much disappeared once the Moloch plot ended, and his character needs some freshening up if he remains on the show. I liked the chase/face off of Jenny/Irving and that he was freed at the end. I liked the mirroring of Abby's arrival in old Sleepy Hollow to IC's arrival in the modern day. I was a bit disappointed that the writers not have her be a bit more cautious upon entering SH, but I guess it set up her inevitable meeting with IC, and how history will be tweaked from there....... I can't wait for next week
This episode is awesome but I cannot wait to the very awesome episode next week! I hope the next episode which show a new storyline (Abbie go back to the past) will let this show be renewed. I'm glad Henry die. I'm so sick Henry and want to take him off the show so much! and my wish come true.
I love the scene that Ichabod and Katrina fight. It's so intense. For Katrina, I think she can redeem. She's not fully evil. She just want to get Jeremy back and take care him until he grow to be a man only.
Haha, your second line...said the exact same thing. Well not feared, but mad. Lol I too, am glad that she'll meet up with Ichabod. Hopefully he can get her out of there.
This was a great episode... I can understand people who hate Katrina, but I lik her in Evil Bitch (sorry),.. we need vfemale villain ... she is spicy and I need to see her act avil....but eventually Abbie will be able to save her from herself while in this century.. (that's what I hope anyway...)
I feel like I'm learning a lesson with TV lately - have a boring character? Make them evil! Worked for Ward on AoS, and now here we are with Katrina, who I just got way more invested in. Be evil, Katrina. You're so much cooler that way. Plus, no more marriage drama! Yay!
I can't wait to see what happens next week, which is the first time I've felt that way in a while for this show. If there is anyone who can handle being displaced to a time when she is in danger for being black and being a woman and not being super up on how to behave in the late 1780s, all while trying to stop a powerful witch and save her friend and not completely wreck history - it's Abbie Mills. She's going to rock it in the finale, and I'm so excited to see what happens, and how it affects the series going forward (assuming and hoping we get a series going forward).
And we have Irving back, and that's always a plus. The scene with him and Jenny was adorable, and I was so worried that killing Henry meant killing Irving. Couldn't be happier to be wrong.
The exchange between their first meet in his time will be very interesting. I wonder what she'll say. She better give him a full blown paragraph on what he's like. Lol
One thing is for certain this season should have been 13 episodes and they should have made Katrina go dark side a lot earlier. Most of the eps since it came back in Jan were pretty pointless and really everything has felt disjointed and irrirating this season. Like no one apart from Jenning giving a damn about Irving was so jarring. Or Henry being kept off screen for most of the second half of the season thus lessening the impact of his death. And don't get me started on Hawling.
But I will say, that ending that was classic Sleepy Hollow, loved it. Almost a shame that Abbie being in the past will likely be resolved in one episode and evil Katrina will probably be dealt with next week as well.
Two episodes:)..it's a two-hour finale...and we're assuming it's resolved...Sleepy Hollow knows how to do finales like no other so you never know..she could be there for a while..thought I hope not too long.
Oh really...we are talking bout Henry...have u seen how Powerful he's been?... believe me, if the show is renewed we will see Heny back on Alive and Kicking like usual, lol...☺...
Meh, I never cared for Katrina. Her switch to the dark side was poorly executed. I can't help but feel this show has become the mess everyone thought it would be before the pilot aired.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
My mom, who's never watched a minute of this show in her life, guessed the plot twist a few seconds before it was proven to be true. The hell.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for next week!
It was ok episode guess the plot before it even happens but can't wait for next week

I'm hoping John Noble will get cast in a pilot soon, will miss seeing him on TV.
ReplyDeleteyou don't mean hook up as in romantic right?
ReplyDeleteI wonder if they will bring henry back though? They can always write it so that instead of being sent to purgatory, Katrina who still has the grimoire fends off her coven before they can do so. Then goes on to get henry and go into hiding.
ReplyDeleteHahaha :-)

oh ok cool and if anyone can change her gender's history it's Lieutenant (Leftenant) Abbie Mills
ReplyDeleteso Katrina's fully evil?
ReplyDeleteThat was a very satisfying episode
ReplyDeleteNoooo, John Noble :'(
ReplyDeleteAwesome episode. Please, it needs to be renewed!

Good eye! With the parallel of their arrivals! I didn't catch that. Mostly I kept thinking, oh shit she's in the past. Lol
ReplyDeleteI don't think so. She can go back to her time already. So, No need for her to be evil. I think she might be go back to be good again.

ReplyDeleteI know!! I cannot wait for next Monday! It should be good. Next week is the season finale right?
