Last week episode was better. But "Gladiators don't Run" was okay. Mellie for President? HOW? She has no political career. Sorry, not even in Scandal land can a FLOTUS automatically be elected President without the People's vote and an election. lol.
I really liked that Fitz first choice when asked what he wanted was...Jerry back alive and not Olivia. I heart Fitz.
While I like this episode, if Olivia isn't saved by next week, I'm going to be really mad. Shonda: Solve this kidnapping arc, please.
I hope this is just for February Sweeps, because if it's not, I'm not going to watch it live anymore. I'm sorry about this rant but 4 episodes of this arc is more than enough.
I think it's time to kidnap someone else instead of Olivia.
I want complain cause I'm a die hard fan of this show, I'm just ready for Olivia to come home and get back to being the fixer not continue to be the victim it's been pure tortuous seeing her shoot herself in the foot these last few episode everytime she negotiates it backfires, I hope it's over soon!!!
Mellie showed her true colors and she is delusional. Fitz wanted his son back and Olivia home safe and Mellie only cared about being President. For her do over, she did not even mention her kids or doing something altruistic. For Mellie, it is has Always been about power (I want to rule the world), not about doing good things for the country. She only clings to Fitz to be close to power and there has never been any love involved for her.
Liv was doing what she had to do to survive. She is not going to wait to be saved. Olivia is not some helpless clingy female (like Mellie). She is the real deal and creates her own path. Olivia is going to find a way to freedom. LOL - Mellie has no political, business or social activism experience but expects to be President by magic. She is the poster child for white privilege. Poor screwed up Huck earned that $2 billionaire for being destroyed by the government. Mama Pope is one cold hearted woman. Jake is useless as usual while Huck an Quinn do all the work. Abby realizes now that she will get treated like an outsider unless she is working with Olivia. David was hilarious with Mama Pope - basic cable and a flat screen TV. I predict Cyrus will have the VP killed and make it look like a natural death or a suicide.
I love everything about this show, but I can't believe they are dragging this out for four episodes.
Did anything happen this week? Mellie declared she wants to be president, which we all knew. Jake did nothing, Huck killed some people. Abby carried it with her three scenes. Olivia didn't accomplish anything.
This episode was disappointing. I can't wait for the storyline to be over at this point.

It has been widely regarded, in the show, that Mellie has the chops to become President. She's arguably one of the most political savy character in the show.
Remember what Cyrus proposed to her so she wouldn't reveal that Fitz had a mistress, in season 2?
I don't think they're suggesting automatically electing her but she could run for President and with his support on top of her public persona and things he's learnt supporting him, she could win. Especially if Olivia is running her campaign.
Scandal is having a major creative resurgence. It is so good right now. This was another fabulous episode in which everyone was used very well. The only part, as usual, that I dislike is Huck. I just find the storyline unrealistic and the character over the top (I was also never sold on the actor). But it is a minor complaint. The entire thing was fabulous but my favorite part has to be the Mellie-Fitz things. Love their new found honesty and I am freaking ready for Mellie as president! Loved it!
I don't think it has been dragged at all because there have been legitimate changes in the situation with each coming episode. Regardless, I do feel it will be resolved next week. Scandal is on a break the week after for the two hour Murder finale so I would expect them to finish this mini arc next week.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

Crash and burn! Average ep at best. Too drawn it. Who won the bid? Papa pope? Enough. I want last season back.
ReplyDeleteWho won the bid? James Spader, of course. If you can't beat the competition buy her

ReplyDeleteMarissa, I could not have said it better.
ReplyDeleteAnd wasn't Mellie working as a lawyer or something when she and Fitz first married? Am I just imagining that she had some sort of job?

ReplyDeleteI agree after reading the press release for its episode on March 5. It doesn't mention that Olivia is in danger.
