Pretty good episode. Freya was Awesome! And I love that she loves Tom and Jerry. LOL...I was expecting her to hug Rebekah, but that'd be asking too much of the Mikaelson family. Finn also made the episode for me. Didn't like that Elijah only had one freaking scene. Glad Rebekah got out, and her scene with Klaus was nice. It made me smile. I fear for Hope. And that's all I have to say. (Had a terrible day)
Shortest comment of my life. Oh and MAC, I know you must be really happy about Kol's situation now. = p
The Freya thing is not good storytelling. If they had to bring her back, they should have done it in a less perplexing way or at a different time. Episodes will be way too chaotic with her around. I totally get why Klaus said, "This family makes me want to kill people." All of that going on at once is guaranteed to break someone. Maybe that's the writers' intention.
Kol was a major weasel, but after what Finn did I still feel sorry for Kol and hope he finds a way out of that situation. So far I've only come up with two possible solutions: vampirism or Kai crossing over. Of course Kai would probably just kill Kol anyway. I loved the music in that scene. Did anyone else notice it?
When Hayley becomes Queen of the Werewolves, I hope she kicks Elijah's ass for supporting Klaus' plan to kill her husband. Jackson is clearly a great guy and even though Klaus was full of crap, he was right about them deserving each other. Since Elijah is fine with Jackson getting killed, I wonder what Klaus will be up to on the wedding day that will have Elijah worried. The whole time Klaus was threatening Hayley and beating up Jackson, I kept wondering if it was all an act and Klaus WANTED Hayley to be her stubborn self and insist on marrying Jackson and telling him everything. I thought I was just being paranoid until Klaus was all happy later on and admitted to Elijah that the wedding is the best thing, but now I'm wondering if Klaus is manipulating Elijah too. Maybe Klaus has some other plan, a spell or ritual we might not see, that would keep the werewolves from possibly getting power from Hope in their ritual. Hope is his only concern, and I'm sure it would be a bonus for him to make Hayley stop doing his baby's uncle.
Give me a break so what Haley slept with Elijah people need to stop using the Uncle as a excuse. I don't know if Elijah would kill Jackson because of Haley. And I would not doubt that Klaus has a plan and maybe he gets upset that he snapped her neck. And I am happy that Klaus went after Jackson. Not a Jackson fan
I'm starting to wonder if the only reason the show's keeping Elijah around is to save face. "No, we're NOT The Recasts, Gillies is still around here... somewhere. Doing something. We forget what."
If by that you mean the type of viewer who gets a bit tired spending so much time with a bunch of bad guys like Klaus trying to be the biggest bad guy, and the type of viewer who enjoys seeing good characters who try to be good interacting each week, then I guess you'd be right. They balance out the show. And gives you someone to root for, considering even Elijah's character is now nearly as bad as Klaus.
Klaus even seemed supportive of Haley & Elijah a few times. I really don't like Jackson either (though biased as I like Haley/Elijah) and would certainly not care if he was put down after the ceremony other than Haley being pissed. I wouldn't be surprised though if Klaus was proved right and Jackson isn't to be trusted.
No Camille this week... that's reason enough to celebrate. That I'm supposed to accept Haley as some hybrid queen badass is continuously laughable. I should not get as much joy as I do out of watching Klaus snap her neck. Please Haley marry Jackson (no relation) and move to the bayou so you can become a recurring character and we'll only have to check in on you a couple times a season.
What?? The Freya storyline has the potential to be awesome. In fact it's the most excited I've been since Celeste (RIP). Freya is the first genuine and believable threat to baby Hope and the first Mikaelson family member to come into the family without 1000 years of baggage. I mean I'm sure she'll have baggage, but it won't be all about Niklaus. She'll be judging each of the family members based on how they are now and if she sides with them and doesn't take off with Hope, we could get Dahlia as the new big bad. Personally I like it. I prefer when this show keeps things things in the family. I couldn't care less about Haley and her bayou buds or Camille, or even Davina's revenge. Why does Davina want revenge again? Because she's alive, very powerful and has a cute boy doting on her? Grow up Davina and move TF on.
Not sure what you mean about Elijah, since it seemed like he wasn't in on Klaus's plan.
I want more Elijah and less Jackson. I liked the Freya scenes and Rebekkah and Klaus scenes. Cant stand Jackson and Haley together and I liked when Klaus was beating on JAckon if only haley did not show up. Being a haley and Elijah fan it make me nervous that Haley is caring for Jackson I don't understand why you would not choose Elijah. I did not mind the Klaus and Haley scenes for a change but I don't ship them. hopefully next week there will be more Elijah. I wonder who side Freya will be on she is sure powerful. I fear for Hope and Haley is stupid telling Jackson and Elijah did not really say that he agreed with Klaus about killing Jackson. I don't trust Jackson and I don't think Klaus is really a threat Elijah and Klaus ar e protecting Hope
Yea I still don't trust Jackson and I cant stand Jackson and Haley together. I need more Elijah and less Jackson. I am starting to fear for Elijah and Haley like she is going to have feelings for Jackson and no brother love triangles
I really enjoyed the episode the last 3 eps were setting up some major storylines. Freya was adorable, she even looked like Claire Holt a bit. She had great chemistry. I thought she would look a bit older. I think it's okay that Elijah had only one scene, it would be overcrowded if there was another story playing out this week.
Things i hated This episode- 1.Only one scene of Elijah.Seriously writers? What happened to showing his internal struggle? 2.Too much Vincent.I like the character's deviousness to some extent but now-a-days it seems like he's kidnapping one of the main character(s) every week and trying to torture them. It's getting tiring.Thank god he finally figured the freakin' truth so that we can move on finally. 3.Klaus-I never liked him much to begin with but his and jackson's fight scene was repetitive like tyler & pointless. He's getting more annoying with every passing week, too bad he can't die EVER! 4.Plot to kill kol even though he's fake.Julie, could you be any more predictable?Urgh! Things i Loved this episode- 1.Freya's introduction. That's a bad-ass witch!Welcome to NOLA girl! 2.Rebekah-freya interactions & the loony witch-house arc was fascinating to watch.More of them, please. 3.I like jackson-hayley together which sounds even insane to me!Great job on this one writers! 4.Hayley's arc this season is gradually improving & she's kinda growing on me,something that didn't think would be possible EVER!I loved how she stood against Douche Klaus! Overall decent episode but we've had better ones before!
So does this mean any chance of Nate Buzolic coming back is toast. Damn.
Loved loved Freya. She is so powerful. Finn is such a badass its hard to reconcile this is the same character from TVD. I don't think Marcel would ever help Finn to kill Hope. Kol is still meh. Only one scene of Elijah really? At least Elijah, Klaus and Rebekah seems to be on good terms. That made me happy.
Jackson is still a snoozefest. He is so boring. I loved it when Klaus snapped Hayley's neck. I hope Jackson don't betray Hayley.
I agree that Freya can be a genuine threat to Hope as well as everyone else in her family. She might actually reach her limit with the current fighting and be the one to kill Finn. However, I also feel that her character should have been left innocent and as a part of Esther and Dahlia's story. There's not even a clear explanation of what Freya is, just like there isn't a clear explanation of what Hope is. The mythology of these shows has held up until now that no one can be a vampire and a witch, not even if they're part of the original immortality spell, so someone will have to explain what kind of immortality spell would allow a vampire to practice magic so well while still needing a daylight necklace. That doesn't make sense. Another issue: Immortality spells tend to generate doppelgangers, and Hope's blood has been used twice now to sire hybrids even though Klaus can't even do that himself without doppelganger blood. Could Hope be a doppelganger of Freya, since it's been 1,000 years and Hope is also an immortal witch? There is a serious problem here with more than one mythology.
It is necessary to have more than just MIkaelson family drama on this show. I know that you feel personally that other characters take away from what you want to watch, but TV shows are watched by a diverse audience with a multitude of preferences. However, I think the majority will agree that Davina expired as a likable character a long time ago. Michael Narducci likes doing stories with her and there might be contracts involved, but I agree that Davina brings nothing but annoyance to the show and they need to dispose of her character ASAP. The same can be said about Marcel. Cami is only needed as a plot device at this point. The werewolves and new witches like Celeste keep things interesting because if any show was only about vampires who've been having the same fights for centuries, it would get boring very fast.
I don't think Freya is a vampire, she's a witch. And I'm not convinced it's a real immortality spell either. I think her life line is tied to Hope, and she awoke when she was born. The necklace is most likely tied to that power not a daylight charm. What ever happens with Freya, I'm sure Dahlia is not far behind, which probably will bring back Esther who for once may try to protect her children instead of slaughtering them. (at least I can hope). Family Drama FTW!
You could be right, but it looks more like Rebekah and Cassie woke Freya up with their distress signal. It occurred to me that Freya might have just been jumping bodies, and that's why she's still a witch. We know that this was Kol's plan because Finn mentioned it before he sealed Kol in his body and gave him some sort of mystical terminal illness. The daylight necklace could be something from Freya's past with Dahlia. Dahlia might have raised Freya and tried using an immortality spell on her. I'm interested to know how Freya got away from Dahlia.
although I don't like Hayley at all! but I totally took her side against Klaus! the poor woman's only mistake was bearing a child who has the Mikaelson name! Klaus was being very petty with his jealousy of Jack/Ansel bond. He's so paranoid, that I hate his guts sometimes!
one of the best scenes this season was definitely Freya kicking ass! loved her sisterly bonding with Rebekah, they definitely had chemistry!
am loving Maisie so far as bekah! I hope she stays.
This episode was one of my favorites. I do wish there was more Elijah though. (He's my favorite character) I'm glad that Kol is about to die. He irritates beyond belief and so does Davina. But the best moment, hands down, was when Klaus snapped Hayley's neck.
I feel Freya had good chemistry with Rebekah. But I definitely didn't see her looking like Claire. Lol that's all you. GASP!! When Elijah is in an episode it's never "overcrowded" it's necessary!!! Shame on you. I tell you what's overcrowding these episodes....Davina, Kol, Jackson, yeahhh. lol
And?? You saw how long that took. Their first truce in centuries. That doesn't mean they're "bestie". They don't have that type of relationship. (They never did) Hugging territory will take awhile.
I didn't get that either as far as Elijah approving Jackson's killing. In fact, I almost felt that Klaus was smirking because he is leaving out how he snapped Hayley's neck and I imagine that would not go too well with Elijah....When Klaus was about to Kill Jackson, he stopped and listened to Jackson....Jackson was pleading with him to please free their people....ANd it was almost like from one wolf to another wolf in a moment.. I feel as if Klaus might have made up his mind to trust Jackson...WOW Klaus threatened Jackson if he was to ever Betray Hayley what would happened.. Imagine how protective he will be of Hope when she dates..LOL..... GOOD luck to that poor miserable fool who falls for teenage Hope...LOL
Agreed.. I didn't get that either. I think Klaus was smirking because he left out how he snapped Hayley's neck to Elijah and eventually he knows Hayley will tell Elijah...I really didn't get the feeling that he is going to kill Jackson...Jackson went from the Kill Column to the Maybe Kill Column...It's like Jackson is on probation.... When Jackson was asking Klaus to save their people....I felt a bit like he was reaching Klaus.....I still wonder if the unification will work...
Finally was able to watch the episode just now, and I have to agree with you. Rebekah and Freya were fantastic. Finn not so much for me. He is a great character, but his holier than thou motivations annoy me.
I agree that every other character on this show has become, I don't know, completely boring. This Hayley/Jackson storyline has to end soon. It's so boring, goes nowhere, and means nothing in the grand scheme of things. And you know it won't. Sure the pack may become super werewolves or whatever, but just like every 'super' anything between this show and TVD, they always ultimately amount to nothing.
Is it just me, or is this season super crap in comparison to the first? Julie Plec seems like she really knows how to start a show strong, but then quickly loses the creative juices and just treads water forever.
It's only for the characters of Elijah, Rebekah (who still rocks even in another body. Damn I miss Claire Holt :( ), and to some extent Klause that I even keep watching this show.
excited to see next episodes as we explore Hope's power according to this article http://www.ew.com/article/2015/01/19/the-originals-season-2-episode-10?hootPostID=60f2e7f2d98388166435f2bf49142765
I thought this episode was pretty good. it set up quite a few things without having so much action happening that it felt rushed. I did miss Elijah this week, but his absence was necessary I think to this weeks plotline. what would he have done? Freya and Rebekah was awesome. I'm glad they introduced another Original sister. Rebekah needs a little more girl power on her side. I am enjoying Finn so much more than I did on TVD but his holier than thou attitude is getting ridiculous. someone needs to knock him down a hew pegs, and i'm hoping that Freya is the one to do it. I feel like she is going to be the one to protect baby Hope. In season 1 finale when they included Marcel in the plan to hide hope I KNEW it was going to come back to burn them. I had a hard time taking sides this week when it came to Haley and Klaus. Klaus is totally irrational and unpredictable, prone to murder very quickly but I see his point. I would have a hard time trusting anyone too. I have doubts that this wedding will actually happen though. I find it hard to believe that Haley and Elijah get vertical and then she rides off to wedded bliss with Jackson.
Perhaps Freya can be released from Dahlia's clutches once the next generation new born baby is born...and well Hope is the first one born in a 1000 years..... So yes this could be a connection..
Yes I am a elijah and gawky fan and I hTe this storyline and elihah looks sad. I liked when klaus was fighting and he needed haley stop it. And I don't think elijah would agree for klaus to kill jackson. I like klaus and haley as friends and don't want love triangles and feel like he cares for her as family.
Finn is a great villian. He is as hard as his brother, he doesnt care who he has to hurt to get what he wants. I wonder what Freya is up to, what will she do once she finds Finn cause im sure she is gonna find him.
I miss Elijah and cant stand Jackson. Sorry not a Haley and Jackson fan on a opposite ship. And dont want this wedding to go down. And if I spent a night with Elijah no way could I marry another man
I am a little worried about this wedding. I hope she is not going to have feelings for Jackson. I feel for Elijah. I am still trying to realize how anyone can walk away from elijah.. can i take her part.
But the way she said she was there in 1914 to see her family made me think it was Freya itself. I think Dahlia will come later and will become the big bad who will try to take Hope. I hope by that time Freya will help her siblings instead of auntie.
While I am more of a Klaus girl for myself, I agree. I love Elijah and Haley together. Jackson, while he's ok as a character I don't want him and Haley together.
I wanted to punch Kol in his face when he said he has Davina "wrapped around his finger". But then I wasn't sure if he said that to fool Finn or if he really ment it. Does he really care about her? Does he care about ANYONE but himself? He is such a weasle! I like the friends/family relationship between Hayley and Klaus and I'm glad there is no romance there. let's hope it stays that way! I'm suprised how much I like the new Rebekah. I was so mad when she body jumped because I was worried about that since the whole body-jumping thing started and I didn't want to lose Claire as Rebekah but now I really enjoy Maisie as Rebekah. I still miss Claire though. But Maisie does a really good job portraying Rebekah. I still see her as Rebekah, unlike Sharman as Kol.. he just feels like a new character. I absolutly loved Freya!! The way she broke the spell and walked out of the asylum like it was nothing was awesome! I can't wait til she meets her brothers, especially Finn ..since he was the only one who knew her as a kid.
I don't mind klaus but I am a elijah girl I just don't want haley and klaus to happen and I am afraid they are going to do a brother love triangle. Klaus and haley friends but I fear.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
(Had a terrible day)
ReplyDeleteShortest comment of my life. Oh and MAC, I know you must be really happy about Kol's situation now. = p
Love it I'm liking Freya best part of the episode was Freya and Rebecca
ReplyDeleteThe wolf storyline remains the most boring shit I've ever watched.
ReplyDeleteand given that this was the most prominent storyline this episode just sealed the "meh" deal for me.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I'm so over it.
ReplyDeleteno Elijah, no fun
ReplyDeleteat least Rebekah/Freya/Finn were great
the rest of the character roster? Useless as f**k (no seriously...Jackson? Hayley? Davina? Kol?...they all feel redundant)
Yeah this episode was only so so. I voted good. Def. Need more Elijah. Less Jackson, less Davina.
ReplyDeleteHated that Elijah only had one scene, I know I'm biased but trying to stay sober...when this show lacks his presence it feels....meh.
ReplyDeleteLoved Freya though and can'twait for Kol to die...FINALLY (SharmanKol that is)

ReplyDeleteI suspect you're exactly the sort of viewer this show wants, but I think there aren't enough of you.

ReplyDelete"who enjoys seeing good characters"
ReplyDeleteI mean the type of viewer who considers Jackson, Hayley, Kol and Davina good characters/worthy of emotional investment.
Have you thought about watching Saving Hope instead? That's Daniel's primary commitment.
ReplyDeleteThe best part of your comment is your avatar. I think Kol would agree.
ReplyDeleteI'm still laughing.
i was hoping KLAUS AND REBEKAH would hug
ReplyDeleteNo Camille this week... that's reason enough to celebrate. That I'm supposed to accept Haley as some hybrid queen badass is continuously laughable. stalkers betray people and he's a freaking stalker

ReplyDeleteFinally was able to watch the episode just now, and I have to agree with you. Rebekah and Freya were fantastic. Finn not so much for me. He is a great character, but his holier than thou motivations annoy me.
ReplyDeleteI agree that every other character on this show has become, I don't know, completely boring.
ReplyDeleteI thought this episode was pretty good. it set up quite a few things without having so much action happening that it felt rushed.
ReplyDeletePerhaps Freya can be released from Dahlia's clutches once the next generation new born baby is born...and well Hope is the first one born in a 1000 years..... So yes this could be a connection..
ReplyDeleteOnly way we see more Elijah is if Saving Hope filming schedule wouldn't overlap with TO schedule.
ReplyDeleteYes I am a elijah and gawky fan and I hTe this storyline and elihah looks sad. I liked when klaus was fighting and he needed haley stop it. And I don't think elijah would agree for klaus to kill jackson. I like klaus and haley as friends and don't want love triangles and feel like he cares for her as family.
ReplyDeleteFinn is a great villian. He is as hard as his brother, he doesnt care who he has to hurt to get what he wants.
ReplyDeleteI wonder what Freya is up to, what will she do once she finds Finn cause im sure she is gonna find him.
I miss Elijah and cant stand Jackson. Sorry not a Haley and Jackson fan on a opposite ship. And dont want this wedding to go down. And if I spent a night with Elijah no way could I marry another man
ReplyDeleteI am a little worried about this wedding. I hope she is not going to have feelings for Jackson. I feel for Elijah. I am still trying to realize how anyone can walk away from elijah.. can i take her part.
ReplyDeleteWho is? Marcel? *confused*
ReplyDeleteBut the way she said she was there in 1914 to see her family made me think it was Freya itself. I think Dahlia will come later and will become the big bad who will try to take Hope. I hope by that time Freya will help her siblings instead of auntie.
ReplyDeleteWhile I am more of a Klaus girl for myself, I agree. I love Elijah and Haley together. Jackson, while he's ok as a character I don't want him and Haley together.
ReplyDeleteUgh.. I had hope for Nate coming back as Kol at sometime in the future :(
ReplyDeleteKnowing Julie Plec and what i think will probably be the outcome lol
ReplyDeleteI wanted to punch Kol in his face when he said he has Davina "wrapped around his finger". But then I wasn't sure if he said that to fool Finn or if he really ment it. Does he really care about her? Does he care about ANYONE but himself? He is such a weasle!
ReplyDeleteI like the friends/family relationship between Hayley and Klaus and I'm glad there is no romance there. let's hope it stays that way!
I think he meant Jackson Dullmas.
ReplyDeleteAhh right the violin player. I forgot about him. Ya that's enough reason to be pissed... I guess.
ReplyDeleteLooks like Casting for Dhalia was underway in January so that means
ReplyDeleteDhalia and Freya must have been dabbled in Immortality Spells.

Oh ok. I did not know that lol. what if they switched bodies lol
ReplyDeleteI don't mind klaus but I am a elijah girl I just don't want haley and klaus to happen and I am afraid they are going to do a brother love triangle. Klaus and haley friends but I fear.
ReplyDeleteExcellant theory...
ReplyDeleteI really liked the Klaus-Hayley scenes. The way they care for Hope and how she has changed them both is the heart and soul of the show imo.
ReplyDeleteI don't however like Rebekah wandering around without Claire Holt. I prefer her away if that is the only option, this just feels wrong.
