YES!!!!!! Be still my fluttering shipper heart. :D I shouldn't be grinning so much at a man getting crossbowed, but I apologise for nothing! #DingDongtheDrapersDead
I enjoyed it! I thought the actress who played "Louise" was very good and quite lovely. Should have cast her as Marguerite...speaking of, she continues to be as dull as dishwater. Aramis on the other hand was adorable throughout the episode.
I was really worried for Treville there for minute.
LOVED Porthos' fight scene at the end. He looked amazing.
Athos continues to look incredible in his hat.
Was rather shocked at the end for Bonacieux. But....oh well, yeah, I'm over it. Haha. Constance looks quite lovely in her black attire in the new promo. =)
I'm really surprised they did that! I thought they'd stretch things out more! I expected we'd see more M. Bonacidouche plotting against Constance and D'Artagnan.
Omg it was awesome episode oh the king is such a spoiled child and made a huge mistake by giving power to rochefort and don't even get me started with margarite oh boy Anne and aramis are in trouble glad they killed Constance husband don't judge me about it am happy for costangnan but what with the cursing them milday miladu milady what
Another great watch - it wasn't my favourite episode, although my hubby has just sat here saying how awesome the episode was and saying how he doesn't want to wait until next week for the next episode, so he seems to have thoroughly enjoyed it!
So glad that Bonacieux is out of the picture, but wish he hadn't cursed Constance and d'Artagnan - hopefully TPTB aren't going to put us through more trauma over them. Not sure we needed to see all the gruesome details with Treville - could have done without that! Please tell me that Milady isn't going to side with Rochefort now - I was just getting used to her working towards redemption. I'm guess there is still hope she may be just using Rochefort. It is all nicely setting up for the last three episodes - I can't wait! Now to rewatch on iPlayer, as tons of bits I have missed.
The only downside to this episode? It's a shame that Constagnan weren't given more than a few seconds after Bonacieux's death, it's just another reminder of how badly Bonacieux has been written by the producers since S1, as if he's not that important to Constance's story. It was a big moment for Constance - it changes her life - and yet once again, it's shoved aside because there's a lot going on - it's Downton Abbey in a nutshell.
If my heart wasn't already willed to d'Artagnan, I'd take Dr Lemay second. What a great character he's been! So hoping he makes it through the next three eps. I'd love to see him in S3. The surgery scene was excellently done. My poor Captain. :(
And I'm sorry but could Rochefort have been any more pantomime this week? Even if Rochefort IS meant to be nuts, I can't believe he needs to be played as over the top as Marc Warren managed it tonight. He gets funnier by the week, which I don't think is the intention. it's getting to Monty Python levels of silliness now. The bit where he emerges wearing the ring was hysterical. :)
Wow! In terms of lining up impending doom, that was pretty incredible. So Bonacieux is toast having cursed Constance and D'Artagnan. Seriously, could they be signposting this any more than they have? If they go for paint by numbers writing and the painfully obvious, we have to accept that she's a dead woman. Possibly having just married D'Artagnan, or about to, to add to the melodramatic tragedy. What a miserable thought. If the do kill Constance they will have literally done everything except have her followed by the Grim Reaper. Almost more than anything else, the thought that that rat-bag might win from beyond the grave, is a sickening thought. I will always have a slight affection for the fake Princess for sending the wife beater to Hell. Aramis, oh dear. This isn't looking good. Marguerite could have had a career as a magician. How the heck she got that off his neck, I've no idea. My money's on Constance getting an awkward marriage proposal next week from the good Doctor, who was fab tonight. Some lovely performances again. Luke in particular, was great, yet again. Loved how he was torn about helping Bonacieux. Marguerite was dreadful and utterly tedious once again. Overall, a string episide but I am genuinely hating some of this spectacularly clumsy foreshadowing and I'm hoping that the show has some twists planned otherwise I must confess I have serious concerns about the quality of the writing.
Even when dying he just has to be a real twat doesnt he! The constagnan moments were so understated yet so adorable throughout the episode!! *squeal* ok enough from my shipper side...things are really starting to heat up!! Rochefort has obviously caught on to the whole annamis thing and he doesnt seem too pleased!! I did love the fake louise's line "I never liked wifebeaters" that made me smile, even though bonacieux was dying on the floor...im truly an awful person :s
Yep, that crucifix has turned out to be a bit of a problem for them, lol. Who'd have guessed it was something that Rochefort originally gave to Anne in the first place!
Louis was paranoid enough by the attack last week, these attacks in the palace itself are only going to have an even bigger effect on him :(
Great episode - a bit of everyone which is how I like it! Marguerite - eh still does nothing to me. Bonacieu .. I mourned for about 2 seconds. Milady I kind of cheered to see her back as the deadly assassin. Great the doctor working with Aramis - loved the whole scene. Athos, Aramis, Porthos D'Artagnan - great in all their parts! Oh dear that trailer - my heart might not survive next week!!
Really didn't like her acting tonight. Some genuinely dodgy moments. Not least of which was the scene in which she begs Bonacieux. Completely hammy and unconvincing.
I know! When he was cursing him I was just screaming at the tv "die already!" Which sounds awful but god his character just got to me and when he hit constance...well thats when he completely lost me
I liked that seen with d'Artagnan regarding helping Bonacieux as well! Maybe the lovely white dress from episode 10 pics is her wedding dress??? That just occurred to me after reading your post. Could be a stretch though. While his cursing was a bit predictable of impending doom, I found her blood on his hands quite ominous. I bet she struggles with guilt a bit next week.
That was rather clever having Rochefort giving the necklace to Anne - mind you, not so sure how Marguerite managed to get the necklace so easily from Aramis' neck. :)
I quite liked the way it was done, actually. Just the blood on d'Artagnan's hands was powerful enough, without him saying the words. And we'll get more of the aftermath next week when there's more than a few seconds to address it, with Constance already in a rather modern-looking black mourning outfit.
I couldn't make out Bonacieux's last words though - was it 'you're doomed' or 'you're damned'? That better not be prophetic...
It was a shame he didn't die before d'Artagnan got to him! Trust him to put the blame on them and then curse them. I wish we had got to see when d'Artagnan told Constance about Bonacieux although.
I agree about the end. I would have loved to see Constance's reaction. She is the one who has had to live with him throughout all this. That is a scene that I think Tamla would have been great in.
Seriously between comments about spending the rest of her life with D'Artagnan, the curse, the blood on her hands, this is just appallingly clunky. Wonder what Tamla's new project is?
Loving this season. It is a shame the Cardinal is not still around he would suss Rochefort out and although thin in character writing I felt abit sorry for Marguerite she is in a no win situation that is going to end badly. Loved all the boys in this and I thought the love they have for Treville came through in the surgery scene and a sigh of relief that our honest gallant Captain is still alive. And it looks like the story moves on in the Porthos sl next week.
And I think things will get darker for Aramis and Anne ,Rochefort is bad enough but a hurt jealous Rochefort is worst.
Strangely, I'm not feeling that ominous about her fate any more. That in itself is probably jinxing it, but ....I'm actually quite calm after my weeks and weeks of panic about her. Maybe it's because I can now see other threads that might take the reaper's mark off her head and take the heat themselves, but that teeny tiny bit of hope is still there. Keeping fingers very firmly crossed though, until the last credits on Ep 10!
Yes I completely agree it would have been a pinnacle moment not only in their relationship but also her life itself. I would have loved to see the moment she realised she was free from her marriage but then also the guilt (which she would no doubt feel). Perhaps we'll see its effect next week?
Me too - I just keep thinking about the video they released of her talking about Constagnan, and about us getting a little bit more this season. She'll still be around next season!
I know what you mean about clunky, believe me, some of the lines (the husband and his curse) are very laughable but i guess we have to admit this is not Shakespeare.
The look on the face of Constance when they came back to the garrison and the bit with D'artagnans hands made me smile as well (not necessarily for the right reasons),
Just knew Milady would be there somewhere at the end, not sure there is much hope for her although for one fleeting second you did see vulnerable in her face and voice - when Athos offered her 'everything i have' but she couldnt take it. Fair doos there.
I get the impression Constance will be debating whether it's immoral or not to finally be with her lover after her husband has just been murdered, though a certain spoiler pic kind of gives that away..
Yes I feel as if that will play a part too... im really fearing for her life now, I just hope they'll keep constance in for series 3, tamla is incredible. I'd hate to see another death especially as their relationship has come so far!
Her begging on her knees reminded me so much of Lady Farrow in Blackadder. Although there is was MEANT to be funny and over the top, here it was just...painful.
Now that would have showed some generosity in the face of a bolt in the chest/gut.😄 I fear the whole thing is yet another example of the dodgy writing we've seen this year.
Now that Milady is turning evil again - letting Treville almost die - I think her numbers will be up in the final, unless her words to d'Artagnan "don't forget I saved your life" still apply, I can't tell..
I can't believe they'll have made us wait nearly 2 series for them to get together properly, only for her to die straight away... They wouldn't be that cruel. Right? Tell me I'm right, lol
What I want to know is, why didn't d'Artagnan wash his hands before riding all the way back to the garrison? Didn't he realize that going to meet Constance like that was not only awful but also not very hygienic?
I have a few other choice words to describe him which im afraid I thought would be a little less...civilised! but yes I think I summed my frustration up ahaha
Yeh but you just know she'll be angsting over it at the palace, see a certain leather-clad scruff on the stairs and go "Oh, sod it. Where's the nearest bedroom?" ;)
I guess, though that when Anne gave Aramis the crucifix originally, it was as a thank you for saving her life and to whom she had a fleeting attraction, rather than to a man she thought was going to be really important in her life.
Yeah, say it with blood. Alas, that would have avoided the blindingly obvious symmetry of her hacing BLOOD ON HER HANDS. Get it audience! She's doomed!!!
Speaking of blood, I thought it very neat that Treville's lungs are spewing blood all over the garrison, yet none of it get on Constance, who is wearing the whitest dress and apron she's ever worn. And not a speck. :)
I was waiting for her dress to get splattered with blood - thought that was why we saw her wearing a new dress next week! All this talk of blood......yuk! ;)
I love that Dr Lemay explains draining Treville's lungs in' much the same way as you'd drain a keg of wine'. Given Athos is the expert in draining anything with wine in it, I'm so glad Lemay went for the surgical option.
I do hope S3 gives us some of the humour back, it's the one thing that's been missing this year, along with the lack of brotherhood ( or bromance if you prefer ) during some episodes..
I kind of liked how pantomime that part was, since the whole episode was like his own pantomime being playing out just because he read that one letter about how the Cardinal refused to pay his ransom money at the start. He'd achieved his goal, and was gloating in the most obvious way possible, lol.
Well the crucifix was a thank you to Aramis for saving her and For Anne that cross had been a gift from a good friend not from the creepy over the top villain we know Rochefort to be. And doesn't it sure make things worse for him to know that she had given his gift to another man!
Yes! I missed that one. I saw the one of Rochefort from the beginning when he's not in his coat. And I saw one of Athos in his hat that looked familiar.
Poor Treville, I was so worried for him in this episode, bit of a traumatic time for him. I wanna know how he did that laboured breathing during the surgery scene, that just wasn't natural! lol
Can Constance please walk under a ladder next week. Walk on some cracks in the pavement. Spot a single magpie. I want the full set before she cops it.😄
OK- I'll get ready. But there's a little bit of me that is hoping that they are being so OTT obvious that it won't happen? Haha- I'm just fooling myself.
But is it just me or did that surgery seem a little....advanced for the 17th century? I mean, like, technique-wise? (Though I'm still laughing about Aramis' 'well basically I have no idea what to do after pulling the ball out' attitude and Lemay's 'seems to help, no idea why'. That's what you want to hear from the guys trying to save your life...)
LOL Yes, real confidence in the medical profession there! But I did like the 'no idea why' bit, it hints at progression and that he's one of those doctors that actually HAS these ideas that advance medicine. At least, he's moved on from leeches anyway.
She is kind of horrible, isn't she? But hey, I guess it's a fair prediction she at least won't make it past the finale - so only 3 more weeks at the most! (...which was supposed to be encouraging, but then it just reminded me there's only three episodes left...)
I think she asked her brother to support her as regent and the dauphin as the future king - which would imply the King's death, so if someone saw those letters they might assume she was plotting to kill the King.
Aw, thanks! But you guys must have been on fire, when I checked sometime...last night I think? you were already done! We're never that fast when I'm around, so maybe I should stay away and just let you guys do the work! ;)
And in a completely unplot-related comment, can I just say I love how Luke runs? And he always runs so fast he nearly skids and falls over. It happened in the scene with Lucie, and here again chasing Louise. It's just..awwwwwwww!!!
Just rewatched and realised how bloody hilarious Bonacieux's exit scene is. A supposed princess is standing there with a loaded crossbow aimed at him, and all he can say is 'I forgot my hat'. Sums him up, really!
I notice Jess tweeted about saying a sad goodbye to Bo. So Bonacieux was her cryptic comment that's kept us knotted for the last few months! Unless she was referring to another 'sad' death in ep 8/9, judging by the filming schedule that must have been what she meant. Phew!
At this rate you may need a sideline in counselling too.😄 So if D'Art pops the question, I'm thinking of a wedding gift. 13 piece dinner set....oops.....
Well, I will hate Jessica forever if Constance doesn't make it. Jessica will be like Fox to me (for cancelling Firefly) and like those awful writers who killed Marian for no freakin' reason.
He's depressed and scared due to the attack during last week at the fort and the kidnap earlier in the season, this latest serial killer being in the palace will only make him even worse too. His father was assassinated when he was a young child, so that much play on his mind a lot.
Agree with this. I groan every time she's on screen now. The most interesting thing she's done without a shadow of a doubt was getting that crucifix off him without him noticing. Although he'd probably fallen asleep on her shoulder through boredom by then....
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
YES!!!!!! Be still my fluttering shipper heart. :D I shouldn't be grinning so much at a man getting crossbowed, but I apologise for nothing! #DingDongtheDrapersDead
ReplyDeleteAnother great episode, a few quibbles here and there, look forward to hearing all your thoughts on it :)
ReplyDeleteSorry Sandi, in my excitement and giddiness I seem to have nabbed the first post off you. ;)
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed it! I thought the actress who played "Louise" was very good and quite lovely. Should have cast her as Marguerite...speaking of, she continues to be as dull as dishwater. Aramis on the other hand was adorable throughout the episode.

Athos continues to look incredible in his hat.
Was rather shocked at the end for Bonacieux. But....oh well, yeah, I'm over it. Haha. Constance looks quite lovely in her black attire in the new promo. =)
Oh my word!! Did not see that coming with Bonacieux!! Great episode though:-)
ReplyDeleteLol, not a problem at all ;) I don't think I've been the first poster for a while, I get too caught up in convos on Twitter while Live Tweeting, lol
ReplyDeleteI'm really surprised they did that! I thought they'd stretch things out more! I expected we'd see more M. Bonacidouche plotting against Constance and D'Artagnan.
ReplyDeleteOmg it was awesome episode oh the king is such a spoiled child and made a huge mistake by giving power to rochefort
ReplyDeleteand don't even get me started with margarite
oh boy Anne and aramis are in trouble
glad they killed Constance husband don't judge me about it am happy for costangnan but what with the cursing them
milday miladu milady what
Yes, Marguerite continues to be a bore, I'm just not bothered by her scenes at all if I'm honest :s
ReplyDeleteLoved Porthos this episode, his concern for Treville and the relief when he pulled through from the surgery, and that fight was superb! :)
Another great watch - it wasn't my favourite episode, although my hubby has just sat here saying how awesome the episode was and saying how he doesn't want to wait until next week for the next episode, so he seems to have thoroughly enjoyed it!
ReplyDeleteSo glad that Bonacieux is out of the picture, but wish he hadn't cursed Constance and d'Artagnan - hopefully TPTB aren't going to put us through more trauma over them. Good episode, one of the better ones for me this series, lots of WHAT? moments
ReplyDeleteI loved the actress playing Louise, I may have known in advance who she was but she was still great to watch.
Rochefort is now more powerful than ever..................
So Milady is still bad? Her fate in the series final really is going to be interesting - she allowed Treville to be shot.....................
Thank goodness Porthos's storyline is getting under way..
Wasn't expecting Bonacieux's death................
The only downside to this episode? It's a shame that Constagnan weren't given more than a few seconds after Bonacieux's death, it's just another reminder of how badly Bonacieux has been written by the producers since S1, as if he's not that important to Constance's story. I see the troll has already been by to vote awful. lol
ReplyDeleteAlready on rewatch!

ReplyDeleteI think it's funny to see the scenes where all of the spoiler pics came from that we scavenged over the last year. I spotted a few tonight!
ReplyDeleteEven when dying he just has to be a real twat doesnt he! The constagnan moments were so understated yet so adorable throughout the episode!! *squeal* ok enough from my shipper side...things are really starting to heat up!! ReplyDeleteShe is such a bore and still not taken by Charlotte Salt's acting. Hopefully, she's next on Rochefort's list! ;)
ReplyDeleteYep, that crucifix has turned out to be a bit of a problem for them, lol. Who'd have guessed it was something that Rochefort originally gave to Anne in the first place!

ReplyDeleteYes, there was one of Porthos' fight in that corridor that came out for sure.
ReplyDeleteWhat terrified me was the next promo!! 😱
ReplyDeleteI liked that seen with d'Artagnan regarding helping Bonacieux as well! Maybe the lovely white dress from episode 10 pics is her wedding dress??? That just occurred to me after reading your post. Could be a stretch though.

That was a nice touch I thought. I wondered how he knew it so well.
ReplyDeleteOh, the troll....
ReplyDeleteIt was certainly a surprise that the necklace came from Rochefort to begin with..
ReplyDeleteIt was a shame he didn't die before d'Artagnan got to him! Trust him to put the blame on them and then curse them. I wish we had got to see when d'Artagnan told Constance about Bonacieux although.
ReplyDeleteI agree about her acting. She was bored, we were bored, everyone was bored.
ReplyDeleteI agree about the end. I would have loved to see Constance's reaction. She is the one who has had to live with him throughout all this. That is a scene that I think Tamla would have been great in.
ReplyDeleteMaybe he works for the BBC!
ReplyDeleteSeriously between comments about spending the rest of her life with D'Artagnan, the curse, the blood on her hands, this is just appallingly clunky. Wonder what Tamla's new project is?
ReplyDeleteYes It was a surprise indeed
ReplyDeleteUgh, I find that crucifix to be tainted now. Didn't Anne have anything else she could have given him? lol
ReplyDeleteHi there Federica, welcome to the site! There's certainly a lot going on in next week's episode, lol
ReplyDeleteHaha!
ReplyDeleteI know right I wouldn't have mind margarite joining bonacieux
ReplyDeleteGo be our spy and find out! Report back post haste!
ReplyDeleteAw bless. The troll is quick in the draw tonight!😄
ReplyDeleteLoving this season. It is a shame the Cardinal is not still around he would suss Rochefort out and although thin in character writing I felt abit sorry for Marguerite she is in a no win situation that is going to end badly.
ReplyDeleteLoved all the boys in this and I thought the love they have for Treville came through in the surgery scene and a sigh of relief that our honest gallant Captain is still alive.
And it looks like the story moves on in the Porthos sl next week.
And I think things will get darker for Aramis and Anne ,Rochefort is bad enough but a hurt jealous Rochefort is worst.
Yes I was like it lost the special meaning for me
ReplyDeleteNah, still think our Constance will be around for season 3!!!! ;)
ReplyDeleteI fear more for Constance again now after Bonacieux's last words... :(
ReplyDeleteIf they kill Cibstance as I now fully predict they will. I promise to join the troll for the finale. It's got to be lonely pushing against the tide.😄
ReplyDeleteStrangely, I'm not feeling that ominous about her fate any more.
ReplyDeleteI'm probably in denial but I can't see them killing her off - they may want us to think that.
ReplyDeleteYou're definitely meant to Kara. I don't think they could make this more obvious if the gave us guilt edged invitations to the funeral.
ReplyDeleteYes I completely agree it would have been a pinnacle moment not only in their relationship but also her life itself. I would have loved to see the moment she realised she was free from her marriage but then also the guilt (which she would no doubt feel). Perhaps we'll see its effect next week?
ReplyDeleteHi!! I has visited this site for months.. Finally I decided to log in :) my compliments, you are very good! Love this site :)
ReplyDeleteMaybe they think that awful still means ' full of awe ' as it once did!
ReplyDeleteMe too - I just keep thinking about the video they released of her talking about Constagnan, and about us getting a little bit more this season. She'll still be around next season!
ReplyDeleteHAhahahahaha!
ReplyDelete*Even when dying he just has to be a real twat doesnt he!*
ReplyDeleteROFLMAO! Eloquent and oh so true. :)
Welcome Federica :)
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about clunky, believe me, some of the lines (the husband and his curse) are very laughable but i guess we have to admit this is not Shakespeare.
ReplyDeleteThe look on the face of Constance when they came back to the garrison and the bit with D'artagnans hands made me smile as well (not necessarily for the right reasons),

The BBC has spies everywhere. *coughcougcough*
ReplyDeleteTo be fair, what else was Bonacieux supposed to say? "You all can move into the master bedroom now instead of using your old room." Haha.
ReplyDelete"It's got a better view and a double wardrobe!"
ReplyDeleteI get the impression Constance will be debating whether it's immoral or not to finally be with her lover after her husband has just been murdered, though a certain spoiler pic kind of gives that away..
ReplyDeleteOr it's a diversion. Or we're all paranoid. :)
ReplyDeleteExactly! "Constance sleeps on the right side of the bed. Take the left. That's where I slept."
ReplyDeleteYes I feel as if that will play a part too... im really fearing for her life now, I just hope they'll keep constance in for series 3, tamla is incredible. I'd hate to see another death especially as their relationship has come so far!
ReplyDeleteHer begging on her knees reminded me so much of Lady Farrow in Blackadder. Although there is was MEANT to be funny and over the top, here it was just...painful.
ReplyDeleteHe seemed to love that moment walking out with the ring! Notice it was only the Musketeers that didn't bow to him!
ReplyDeleteNow that would have showed some generosity in the face of a bolt in the chest/gut.😄 I fear the whole thing is yet another example of the dodgy writing we've seen this year.
ReplyDeleteNow that Milady is turning evil again - letting Treville almost die - I think her numbers will be up in the final, unless her words to d'Artagnan "don't forget I saved your life" still apply, I can't tell..

ReplyDeleteYeh but you just know she'll be angsting over it at the palace, see a certain leather-clad scruff on the stairs and go "Oh, sod it. Where's the nearest bedroom?" ;)
ReplyDeleteAre you sure it wouldn't be "You take the spare room. That's whereI've been since the miring after our wedding."
ReplyDeleteYeah, I was shocked....I thought she was going to have a redemption moment and save Treville for a minute.
ReplyDeleteI guess, though that when Anne gave Aramis the crucifix originally, it was as a thank you for saving her life and to whom she had a fleeting attraction, rather than to a man she thought was going to be really important in her life.
ReplyDeleteEw. I think d'Art would rather sleep on the floor....
ReplyDeletethank you Helen :)
ReplyDeleteBefore we all comment with out thoughts next week, we should all leave notes of greeting and welcome to the troll.
ReplyDeleteYeah, say it with blood. Alas, that would have avoided the blindingly obvious symmetry of her hacing BLOOD ON HER HANDS. Get it audience! She's doomed!!!
ReplyDeleteOh awesome, always great to have a fan delurk and join in! More the merrier ;) Thanks for the compliment :)
ReplyDeleteBlame Dumas. He started this whole thing.
ReplyDeleteOr the writing is genuinely his blindingly obvious....
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of blood, I thought it very neat that Treville's lungs are spewing blood all over the garrison, yet none of it get on Constance, who is wearing the whitest dress and apron she's ever worn. And not a speck. :)
ReplyDeleteI was waiting for her dress to get splattered with blood - thought that was why we saw her wearing a new dress next week! All this talk of blood......yuk! ;)
ReplyDeleteYes, she did very well considering that and her split lip and d'Artagnan's bloody hands gift.
ReplyDeleteYeah but he did it with more finesse.
ReplyDeleteI love that Dr Lemay explains draining Treville's lungs in' much the same way as you'd drain a keg of wine'. Given Athos is the expert in draining anything with wine in it, I'm so glad Lemay went for the surgical option.
ReplyDeleteMum didn't need all the gory bits either.. :)
ReplyDeleteI do hope S3 gives us some of the humour back, it's the one thing that's been missing this year, along with the lack of brotherhood ( or bromance if you prefer ) during some episodes..
I kind of liked how pantomime that part was, since the whole episode was like his own pantomime being playing out just because he read that one letter about how the Cardinal refused to pay his ransom money at the start. He'd achieved his goal, and was gloating in the most obvious way possible, lol.
ReplyDeleteYes...please let's have the humour back. I'm waiting for the same response from my Mum - she loves the show but not the gory bits! ;)
ReplyDeleteYeah she's never looked better. Widowhood and temporary happiness clearly agree with her.
ReplyDeleteHello! You might as well get stuck in! The rest of us haven't found the exit yet, so I'm afraid you can't leave. ;)
ReplyDeleteDo you have a favourite character/ship/horse on the show? What did you think of tonight's?
They've got to keep Dr Lemay around for next season - have Constance working alongside him on her day's off from the Queen! ;)
ReplyDeleteLots of new faces in that promo. Sandi needs to give us a one sentence preview while we wait for her teaser post.
ReplyDeleteLOL so true!😄
ReplyDeleteI think it was 'you're doomed' but will put subtitles on for rewatch!
ReplyDeleteWell yes, that too. :P
ReplyDeleteI agree! Let's welcome the troll.😄
ReplyDeleteI like that she is wearing her hair up in the promo! I thought she was absolutely lovely tonight. Loved her in the last scene.
ReplyDelete"You'll be telling me his arm's grown back next...now LET ME SEE MY HUSBAND!"
ReplyDeleteGuess we'll know soon enough. It's one of those things I'd want to be spoiled for though... Just to prepare! Lol.
ReplyDeleteWell the crucifix was a thank you to Aramis for saving her and For Anne that cross had been a gift from a good friend not from the creepy over the top villain we know Rochefort to be. And doesn't it sure make things worse for him to know that she had given his gift to another man!
ReplyDeleteYeah Athos should have been on it like a bonnet.😄
ReplyDeleteOne of Louis looking tired as well - we originally speculated if he'd recently lost his son or was still in mourning for the Cardinal, lol..
ReplyDeleteMy subtitles said 'damned', but it wasn't clear that was what he said.
ReplyDeleteVery true, but still tainted! =)
ReplyDeleteEh true!
ReplyDeleteYes! I missed that one. I saw the one of Rochefort from the beginning when he's not in his coat. And I saw one of Athos in his hat that looked familiar.
ReplyDeleteI think we know what type of treason Anne will face in episode 9. I feel like they are going to break them up after the season is done.
ReplyDeleteYou see, d'Artagnan? THIS is why they won't let you have a hat.
ReplyDeleteI think they're desperately and fairly unsubtely spoiling us. I'd get the tissues ready.
ReplyDeleteMe neighbours must have wondered what I was watching. I actually clapped when Louise fired. :)
ReplyDeletePoor Treville, I was so worried for him in this episode, bit of a traumatic time for him. I wanna know how he did that laboured breathing during the surgery scene, that just wasn't natural! lol
ReplyDeleteHe can't develop a relationship with a hat. It would be doomed and just as they stood a chance of looking goid together, someone would stand on it!
ReplyDeleteThat will be so sad!
ReplyDeleteAhh yes, that one too!
ReplyDeleteYep, the one in the scroll room?
ReplyDeleteI think there was a universal "finally" across the nation when she did!
ReplyDeleteAm still hopefull That it the letters she wrote to her brother
ReplyDeleteCan Constance please walk under a ladder next week. Walk on some cracks in the pavement. Spot a single magpie. I want the full set before she cops it.😄
ReplyDeleteOh the sass on athos' face. Like, "if you think im bowing you've got another thing coming." :')
ReplyDeleteJessica has favourited a post saying 'hope Constance makes it to Season 3', so hopefully that's a good sign. Clutching at straws here! :)
ReplyDeleteOK- I'll get ready. But there's a little bit of me that is hoping that they are being so OTT obvious that it won't happen? Haha- I'm just fooling myself.
ReplyDeleteAhaha "say it with blood" wow dartagnan really knows how to woo the ladies
ReplyDeleteJust wish a certain Marguerite was in the cross-fire too!
ReplyDeleteBut is it just me or did that surgery seem a little....advanced for the 17th century? I mean, like, technique-wise? (Though I'm still laughing about Aramis' 'well basically I have no idea what to do after pulling the ball out' attitude and Lemay's 'seems to help, no idea why'. That's what you want to hear from the guys trying to save your life...)
ReplyDeleteI liked the game of 'we're not blinking first!'. Wonder how long they had to hold it with stinging eyes before the director yelled CUT!!
ReplyDeleteI honestly think now that it's a pretty strong straw.
ReplyDeleteEven then she'd find a way to die boringly.
ReplyDeleteLOL Yes, real confidence in the medical profession there! But I did like the 'no idea why' bit, it hints at progression and that he's one of those doctors that actually HAS these ideas that advance medicine. At least, he's moved on from leeches anyway.
ReplyDeleteTrue - oh well, we'll have to put up with the poor acting next week as well!
ReplyDeleteHow is the letter treason tho ? I don't remember what she wrote so i'm confused how the letter can be treason ?
ReplyDeleteIt could be temporarily...
ReplyDeleted'Artagnan too, when Rochefort told him to leave Louise. For a moment I thought d'Art was going to punch him.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely - I don't like those leeches! Are we still talking about Bonacieux and Marguerite? ;)
ReplyDeleteShe is kind of horrible, isn't she? But hey, I guess it's a fair prediction she at least won't make it past the finale - so only 3 more weeks at the most! (...which was supposed to be encouraging, but then it just reminded me there's only three episodes left...)
ReplyDeleteYou mean Bonarite? ;)
ReplyDeleteThey don't need to kill her. She'll be in mourning for a year now, so I'd say they're effectively c-blocked again. ;)
ReplyDeleteCool name - like that one! :)
ReplyDeleteDefinitely - think you could be right about that! Ah, no way, only 3 more episodes!!!!!
ReplyDeleteBTW - missed you in the hangman this week ;)
I think she asked her brother to support her as regent and the dauphin as the future king - which would imply the King's death, so if someone saw those letters they might assume she was plotting to kill the King.
ReplyDeleteMilady knows how to fall on her feet, she's got some very valuable information now, but what will she do now?
ReplyDeleteAw, thanks! But you guys must have been on fire, when I checked sometime...last night I think? you were already done! We're never that fast when I'm around, so maybe I should stay away and just let you guys do the work! ;)
ReplyDeleteWell, according to What's on TV - not what we're expecting... ;)
ReplyDeleteAnd in a completely unplot-related comment, can I just say I love how Luke runs? And he always runs so fast he nearly skids and falls over. It happened in the scene with Lucie, and here again chasing Louise. It's just..awwwwwwww!!!
ReplyDeleteLol, depends on what people are expecting thou I guess
ReplyDeleteNo way, I expect you to be there this week ;)
ReplyDelete...and you can totally see his bow-legs :D
ReplyDeleteExtra hard hangman this week then I guess :o :p
ReplyDeleteTrue!
ReplyDelete:P
ReplyDeleteAhh I see, makes sense now. Thanks for clarifying kynikey.
ReplyDeleteNoooooooo! I'm going to miss these hangman's during the hiatus! ;)
ReplyDeleteWould've been a good callback to Emilie -- "Athos has experience in these matters."
ReplyDeleteAww, I'm glad you enjoy them :)
ReplyDeleteAww you can, bless him.😄
ReplyDeleteBut then IS the dress white, or is it blue and black?
ReplyDeleteOh no....we're not starting that, are we?!! ;)
ReplyDeleteHe's definitely a sexy runner. I still enjoy that moment from series one where he's chasing Marsac.
ReplyDeleteOh, I just spotted another one! "He can never hurt me again."
ReplyDeleteHehe, you remembered.😄
ReplyDeleteThis is why you don't re-gift, kids.
ReplyDeleteStop it, you meanie... 😝😘
ReplyDeleteLove it!😄
ReplyDeleteOh God yes.
ReplyDeleteAw, you have to laugh...we'll be crying soon enough.😉...kidding......😄😘
ReplyDelete"We're going to build a life together."
ReplyDeleteAw yes!😄 How did I miss that one?! I'd have had a full house...damn...
ReplyDeleteIf only they could have departed this life impaled on the same crossbow bolt.
ReplyDeleteLOL. Yeah where's a decent ricochet when you need one?!😄
ReplyDeleteUgh OK. You've joked all the hope out of me 😘... She's a goner. 😣
ReplyDeleteTeam up with Rochefort, double-cross him, open a B&B with Athos.
ReplyDeleteJust spit-balling.
I can't see Milady as the landlady barmaid, though. More like the bouncer....;)
ReplyDeleteNah, keep the faith.😄 Adrian can't be this much of a hack....
ReplyDeleteOh dear, you guys are even bringing me down now :p Think happy thoughts guys :)
ReplyDeleteYeah, I don't think you can let Athos near the wine, either.
ReplyDeleteIt's nothing but disaster and misery for these two.
Ok, I'm now betting that Sandi has secret shares in Kleenex...😄
ReplyDeleteNope- you've done it now. Don't try and comfort me now. I'm already in my black dress... 😉
ReplyDeleteSorry Sandi! And while I'm at it, thanks so much for all the hard work on here. I lurk a lot- but I appreciate it all. xx
ReplyDeleteLol! We can style it out together in our LBDs.😄
ReplyDeleteLol, maybe that's a good plan..... :p xx
ReplyDeletewasn't this pic released already? If so, how did we not notice the missing ring??
ReplyDeleteJust rewatched and realised how bloody hilarious Bonacieux's exit scene is. A supposed princess is standing there with a loaded crossbow aimed at him, and all he can say is 'I forgot my hat'. Sums him up, really!
ReplyDeleteI notice Jess tweeted about saying a sad goodbye to Bo. So Bonacieux was her cryptic comment that's kept us knotted for the last few months! Unless she was referring to another 'sad' death in ep 8/9, judging by the filming schedule that must have been what she meant. Phew!
Thanks Kara :)
ReplyDeleteNo worries, I just hate to see you all suffering, just trying to cheer you up a bit with a nice pic :)
Sorry Sandi! Also- thanks so much for all the hard work you put in on here. I lurk a lot- but I appreciate it all. x
ReplyDeleteI knew his vanity would get him in the end.😄
ReplyDeleteYep, it's a promo pic for the next episode. A few people noticed the missing ring ;)
ReplyDeleteLBDs and ugly sobbing- that will be a great combo 😝😄
ReplyDeleteAh....another reason for me to avoid missing out on the fun for two weeks straight! I've been a bit behind.
ReplyDeleteHe did flounce into the palace to meet Constance, didn't he?
ReplyDeleteThanks Sandi! Happy thoughts on the way. Luke lips tend to do that to me. :)
ReplyDeleteAt this rate you may need a sideline in counselling too.😄 So if D'Art pops the question, I'm thinking of a wedding gift. 13 piece dinner set....oops.....
ReplyDeleteWe can make it work.😉
ReplyDeleteBetter make the most of it while we can I think! (See what you've done Scoobie?! I'm a cynical shell of a human being now..😄)
ReplyDeleteDid I tell you I work for Adrian Hodges?....😄
ReplyDeleteActually I'll kind of miss his flounce and that eye thing he did. No gives stink-eye like Bo Poraj.😄
ReplyDeleteWell, I will hate Jessica forever if Constance doesn't make it. Jessica will be like Fox to me (for cancelling Firefly) and like those awful writers who killed Marian for no freakin' reason.
ReplyDeleteDoes it seem like Roach-fort is poisoning Louis? He was always hale until lately. Now he's sickly and seems to be having some kind of breakdown.
ReplyDeleteHe's depressed and scared due to the attack during last week at the fort and the kidnap earlier in the season, this latest serial killer being in the palace will only make him even worse too. His father was assassinated when he was a young child, so that much play on his mind a lot.
ReplyDeleteAgree with this. I groan every time she's on screen now. The most interesting thing she's done without a shadow of a doubt was getting that crucifix off him without him noticing. Although he'd probably fallen asleep on her shoulder through boredom by then....
ReplyDelete
