I love when Peggy stands up for herself "Theres no one more qualified for this mission, Sir. I am going to Russia" Yay Peggy :)
The Howling Commandos were awesome!
I like that their advertising Daredevil during Agent Carter
Lol, Peggy "does anyone else feel a chill going up their knickers" and the response, "I would if I were knickers".
Damn those little girls! Dottie is totally creepy. Also loving Peggy with those guns like a boss! Yay, Dum Dum blowing a hole in the wall :)
:) Loved this line "What would Cap say if I left his best girl behind?"
Nice character development from Agent Thompson "Everybody thinks that I'm this guy that I never was..." glad he is kinda being nicer to Peggy :) Oh and that plane was visually wonderful, the VFX is getting so good on TV lately.
Dottie handcuffing herself to bed is all sorts of odd. Yes to Peggy smiling as her coworkers respecting her :)
Loved it! I gasped when Sousa saw the scars on Peggy. Things are escalating quickly. Not a lot of Jarvis again which is disappointing, hopefully for the remainder of the eps will see a lot of him. Next week looks amazing too! Such awesome much wow.
Thompson can't be her husband because in Winter Soldier Peggy states in her 1953 interview that her husband fought in Europe and was trapped behind German lines and was saved by Captain America. Thompson fought in the Pacific.
A fantastic episode! Probably one of my favorite episodes of the show so far I think!
Peggy going out into the field, with her Howling Commandos by her side along the way, was awesome! And proving to her SSR colleagues that she is still much of a badass like the rest of them. Also, it was so great to see Dum Dum again! Here's hoping he returns in the future to help out on more missions with Peggy.
Agent Sousa finding out that it was Peggy who was at Spider's club and is in that photo they've all been trying to capture for weeks was shocking! Watching this storyline come to a head next week is going to be intense. I really hope Sousa can understand what Peggy is doing and can become allies with her.
Dottie was giving some creepy as looks during the episode wasn't she? That seriously creeped me the hell out the most. And handcuffing yourself to the bed? Looks like she still doesn't trust herself after what happened at Red Room and is trying to keep everyone safe by locking herself up. She's still very damaged. Also, I was kinda disappointed they didn't name drop the boarding school that was abandoned Red Room Academy that Peggy and the boys were at in Russia but oh well. Lets hope this isn't the last time we see (or hear) of Russia's Black Widow Program.
It was so nice to see some backstory on Agent Thompson during his time in the war! It kinda made me feel bad for the guy in a way. Shooting Japanese soldiers that were about to surrender was horrible to hear. In the end, I really think Thompson has found a new respect for Peggy. And yay to her being invited to have a drink with Thompson and the other SSR agents! Loved how much she was smiling during that final scene.
Very interested in seeing if Jarvis tells Howard that Dooley wants to have a chat with him about the Battle of Finnou "There are three sides to every story - your side, my side, and the truth"
Can't wait for next week! Should be another intense episode with the SSR finding out the truth about Peggy.
Agent Carter continues to be the most awesome comic-book tv series on the air. (Sorry, Arrow) And tonight's episode hit it out of the park. Carter finally back in the fighting--with a machine gun! Better than John Wayne on his best day.
Plus, the show's writers continue to mix action with heart-pounding sub-plots: Sousa tracking down Peggy was wonderfully developed over the past couple of weeks. With previews from next week showing Peggy on the run--and this, just as she had finally won the respect of (a somewhat cowardly) Agent Thompson. So much for her new romantic possibilities, Souza & Thompson. Though I would be surprised if one of them allied himself with Peggy (and Angie?) in the final episode of this mini-series.
you think Dottie might actually be good? and yeah she was definitely creepy, well we have Dottie AND the director confirmed Dottie is part of the Red Room so i doubt it's the last time we hear of it
Union Jack was a costumed hero during World War II that fought along side Captain America. Having Peggy turn out to be Union Jack is a clever wink to the old comic book character.
No, Dottie isn't good. She's a deep cover infiltrator for the Soviets. I don't agree with Justin Valdes. Dottie didn't handcuff herself to the bed because she doesn't trust herself and wants to keep others safe. She did it because its what she's used to. Its habit.
My favourite episode so far. Peggy going out into the field, finally runs a chance to show Agent Thompson how badass she is and being the boss....just awesome. And the Howling Commandos were great, too. Especially Dum Dum Dugan (he's so cuddly) and the grumpy one.And the final scene in the office where Thompson invites her to join them for her drink was hopefully a sign that he will treat her with more respect. And lets see how Sousa will react concerning his discovery about Peggy.
I fear , as Peggy suggested to Dum Dum, that the whole raid was a trap. I think it was set up by Leviathan to get the mad scientist's handler in tight with the Americans. Levathan had to know the Americans had the typewriter and he sent the message for them to decipher, knowing they would send a team. It was too strange a set up at the rendezvous site - Peggy and comrades waltzing right in ( with only the lone freaky Black Widow program indoctrinated girl there), and security only showing up in what I fear was a sham staging to let the scientist's handler "escape" to go back to New York. His killing of the so -called mad scientist was planned as a cover to gain their trust. I could be wrong but it was all smelly- and Leviathan made sure to mention Stark in the cipher to bait the hook.
Dottie is so creepy, like seriously she is about to Single White Female Peggy, this is what happens when evil Russian organisations brainwash and mess with young girls! Beware Agent Carter, your enemy is living next door and your colleague is about to expose you.
Loved the episode, Dum Dum continues to be great, when he was talking to the young girl about his bowler hat, when he tried giving Peggy a nickname, the whole bourbon thing (which made me laugh because Neal was in Justified a few seasons back and they love their bourbon on that show).
I haven't warmed to Thompson, though like last week its interesting to see the fall out of the war on the returning veterans, the whole PTSD which no one knew how to handle.
I am really starting to like Dooley though and his quest to get to the bottom of what happened at that battle, his scenes with Jarvis and the historian were interesting.
Another awesome kickass episode, Peggy stood up for herself and made those sexist pigs take notice of her, and I agree with Nirat Peggy handled her business just like a boss, she is one awesome lady, and Dottie, creepy, but for some strange reason I like her, I don't know what that says for me;) but next week it's going to be wild, can't wait, although I'm getting sad this run is almost over:(
This was a great episode. Best in the series. Peggy Carter slayed this one. She was a boss and owned all her scenes. 8 episodes are too less for this fantastic show. Great to get a background on Thompson. Souza figured Peggy out. I hope he understands her reasons. I am really liking the captain Dooley. He is smart. Dotty and the little russian girl a all kinds of creepy. Can't wait for next episode.
Yeah, thank you for the correction i was kind of mislead by the way she looked and i thought that the girl that stabbed Dum Dum was actually this the same girl.
Peggy being all badass! Dum Dum and Peggy and the HC's kicking ass, and reminiscing, and being all in tune with each other and a team and respectful and having each others backs! Like when Thomson was breaking up teams and all the Commandos plus Peggy are looking at the ground, and Happy is asking for another plan from Agent FREAKIN' Carter... LOVED that! And then of course "He would say 'Do as Peggy says'". And I worship those moments exactly because they basically rebuked what the SSR boys think back home, that the Commandos and Cap were babysitting Peggy. It was hard proof, that they treated her exactly like any other member of the team. GOD this episode rocked my world.)
Red Room backstory! I do wonder what's Dottie's endgame is here... Is she part of Howard's frame up or does she have a whole other mission?
Speaking of I'm glad to see more is being revealed about Howard being set up.
Also on the same subject, I have to say I really appreciated Dooley in this episode. Especially if he is indeed honest about what he said to Jarvis. I also liked how straightforward he was with Peggy, that he did give her a chance and that he does seem to have some respect for her as an agent.
Sousa is quite the detective! I love him. Now I just hope he gives Peggy the benefit of the doubt. Also their scene in the locker room was A!Dorable! :D
I'm glad they gave Thomson some character development. I still think he's a chauvinist jerk, (and now even a bit of a coward), buuuuuut I wouldn't mind him getting some redemption and growing out of all that as the show progresses (especially if it gets more seasons). HOWEVER if they try to make him a viable love interest for Peggy I will be very upset. I don't mind them becoming friends, good colleagues and work partners, but I could never see Peggy with him even if he does grow up and changes his views.
Complaints: More Commandos would have been nice. Actually they should be on all the time... like full on regular basis :P No Angie. Boo! :( And of course not enough Jarvis. (though his trying not to rub his ear while he lied was pretty sweet!)
I actually like that it's not a full season. I strongly believe it having a limited number of episodes it part of why the show is sooooo damn good. Granted 8 is a little too little... maybe next season they can do 10! ;P
I think so, he seems to be searching for a larger truth, he wants to know what happened at the Battle of Finow and I think he is smart enough to realise there is something bigger going on than just Stark.
As much as the men at SSR annoy the hell out of me with their attitudes they are shown to be highly competent at their jobs, Dooley is Chief for a reason.
This was so good. I had been enjoying the show but I feel that this was the episode that really took it to a whole new level. I am very glad that we got to see some real progression on the dynamics of the show and how Carter fits in and also love what they did with the Jack character, I really like him now. Chad Michael Murray was really good in it!
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Another awesome episode!
ReplyDeleteI love when Peggy stands up for herself "Theres no one more qualified for this mission, Sir. I am going to Russia" Yay Peggy :)

Dottie handcuffing herself to bed is all sorts of odd. Yes to Peggy smiling as her coworkers respecting her :)
Oh no Peggy, at next weeks promo.
Another Kick-A$$ episode. The pigtailed little girl trained assassins were especially creepy.
ReplyDeletePeggy is "Union Jack" Love the twist on the classic character.
ReplyDeleteLoved it!
ReplyDeleteI gasped when Sousa saw the scars on Peggy. Things are escalating quickly.
Not a lot of Jarvis again which is disappointing, hopefully for the remainder of the eps will see a lot of him.

Thompson can't be her husband because in Winter Soldier Peggy states in her 1953 interview that her husband fought in Europe and was trapped behind German lines and was saved by Captain America. Thompson fought in the Pacific.
ReplyDeleteOh the horror of Thompson being the future Mr Carter....*shivers*
ReplyDeleteI actually didn't consider it until this episode. I really hope he isn't.
This show is awesome!
ReplyDeleteA fantastic episode! Probably one of my favorite episodes of the show so far I think!

Oh, did I mention the "Howling Commandos"? Yes!
i actually don't remember seeing the plane LOL, thompson's still a sexist D-Bag in my book
ReplyDeletewhat do you mean?
ReplyDeleteso Sousa?
ReplyDeleteyou think Dottie might actually be good? and yeah she was definitely creepy, well we have Dottie AND the director confirmed Dottie is part of the Red Room so i doubt it's the last time we hear of it
ReplyDeletewe saw the plane outside for a little bit and one of the writers on the show said it was all visual effects which I thought was awesome.
ReplyDeleteHere's the tweet so you can see :)

OHHH! NOW i remember LOL and wow you're right that looks great
ReplyDeleteAwesome episode. But i thought that when we saw those two girls fight it would be this new neighbor of Peggy's. But awesome episode.
ReplyDeletethe girl that killed the other girl was Dottie
ReplyDeleteI'm starting to seriously feel like 8 episodes will not be enough. :(
ReplyDeleteUnion Jack was a costumed hero during World War II that fought along side Captain America. Having Peggy turn out to be Union Jack is a clever wink to the old comic book character.

ReplyDeleteOr someone we haven't seen yet.
ReplyDeletecreepy habit, come on girl you have your own room now, lay down and watch TV don't be all creepy imitating Carter and smelling her lipstick LOL
ReplyDeletei guess anyone's better than thompson right? although i'd prefer if it WAS Sousa
ReplyDeleteoh, that's cool
ReplyDeleteShe's imitating Carter because she plans to pretend to be Carter for some reason. To access a military or government installation I imagine.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite episode so far. ReplyDeleteWhen wil ABC give Agent Carter the green light for an entire season. The writing is too good and the serialize format will make it must see tv.
ReplyDeleteYeah, thank you for the correction i was kind of mislead by the way she looked and i thought that the girl that stabbed Dum Dum was actually this the same girl.
ReplyDeleteSo good I love seeing her take charge and kick ass.
ReplyDeleteIt was all definitely a setup by Leviathan to get that scientist in the mix back in New York.
ReplyDeleteGod I love this show!!

oh, no yeah it was a flashback to her time in the Red Room in 1937
ReplyDeleteseems too elaborate but i could see it
ReplyDeleteoh yeah i caught that, when he was talking to dooley right?
ReplyDeletenope i sincerely believe she was being all creepy, the only normal part of her was when she found the Stark paper the rest, that was all Dottie
ReplyDeleteso you think dooley was being sincere with Jarvis?
ReplyDelete*nods* Yup.
ReplyDeleteI actually like that it's not a full season. I strongly believe it having a limited number of episodes it part of why the show is sooooo damn good. Granted 8 is a little too little... maybe next season they can do 10! ;P
