Cicely Tyson was amazing, connor and oliver awwwwwww, Rudy Walters!!! Rebecca uhhhhh from the beginning I did not believe the bitch and I was right, poor nate:(((
Great work tonight. Cicely was perfect. Bonnie grosses me out. I don't enjoy her character much. Why did they spray Nate it made him cough before he went to his cell? Laurel was my fave today. She has it together.
Cicely Tyson was just incredible in this episode as Ophelia. I have never seen her before except for The Help but oh man did she blow me away. We all thought that she was coming onto the show for comedic relief but come to find out, she dropped some major revelations onto us and changed the show forever. That scene where she was combing Annalise's hair and told her the story about Uncle Clyde, the person who abused Annalise as a child, where Ophelia burned down the house that Annalise grew up in with Uncle Clyde inside in retribution was definitely the highlight of the episode for me and probably my favorite scene of the week. Now mother and daughter have both gotten away with murder! And it was really great that we learned more about Annalise's past and her birth name! Anna Mae really is a beautiful name :) Can Cicely Tyson come back for one episode every season from now on? "Don't you know a VIP when you see one?" "Who the hell do you think you are? Oprah?" PERFECT.
Connor and Oliver continue to be so freaking adorable and I loved that Connor finally introduced Oliver to Wes, Laurel, and Michaela! And awww that Connor is going to wait until Oliver sobers up for them to have sex together. I really believe Connor loves this guy and it's just so cute seeing him all happy like this.
Uh oh, looks like Frank knows that Bonnie and Asher have been hooking up! But seriously guys, making out in the parking garage?! You couldn't have waited till you got back to Asher's house or something? Of course someone you know saw you doing something you shouldn't have been doing!
I always knew there was something not right about Rebecca but after this episode, I'm definitely suspicious of her. Tracking Wes' cell phone? Looks like Rudy is going to finally shed some light on what happened on the night of Lila's murder and how Rebecca is involved. I have a feeling that she knows more than she's letting on. Also, is Annalise trying to help Nate prove that he's innocent? Wonder why she told him to fire his lawyer and who's on the other end of that phone number. Next week's finale is going to be intense!
Skip the Emmy award and just give Viola Davis an Oscar for her television tour de force performance on How To Get Away With Murder. The chemistry between Davis and Tyson as daughter and mother, respectively, was palpable. What a great show that just tops itself with every new episode. Hope Ms. Davis agrees to a second season.
Cicely Tyson was perfect. The moment she was tellign Annalise what happened to her was just A Class acting.
Bonnie, Bonnie, Bonnie she is such a great character while everyone hates her i lover her creepyness. Why was Frank there? was he waiting for Bonnie? Rebecca has always been a dark person and if she was involved in the murder she played everyone so damn well. D:
Bonnie, Bonnie, Bonnie she is such a great character while everyone hates her i lover her creepiness., Yep. Same here :). I like how she can make you feel bad for her one minute, like tonight, when she was struggling so hard with the case and ranting about not wanting to run to Annalise for help, and then the next she can be this snarky, scheming, unsettlingly shifty person.
Did I catch it right that the ID Laurel showed when she and Wes went to visit Rudy listed her as being from the state of Iowa? 'Cause if so, yay, Iowa love! /end dorky moment.
I was rooting for her so bad. I was Asher tbh lol poor littel bastard is in love with Bonnie xD I also think she does this kind of things on purpose, like when she srewed up the fist hearing. I just dont think she will be like taht if she works for Annalise, she just makes herself look bad and then she does something unpredictable.
So was I. And yeah, Asher's got it bad. So, so bad. That relationship's going to be an interesting one to see develop as time goes on. Good point! I can see that, yeah-she's got a nasty little manipulative streak in her, I can easily see where she'd "accidentally" slip up with how she speaks or something. She's spent so much time working for Annalise, you know she's picked up a few tricks and lessons along the way.
Don't be so sure ;P Stalker and Galavant don't look like they're being renewed and they ended on HORRIBLE cliffhangers. But HTGAWM is most definitely going for another season.
A good point! I've heard about fans of certain shows having some rotten luck in that department (I really feel for those fans-god, that would suck). And yeah, I figured the show would get a second season, just...if anyone even dared simply entertain the thought of leaving us dangling just for grins and giggles, I'd kick them, LOL.
Cicely Tyson and Viola Davis' gave complying performances (they both played the scenes "straight" and like it was "live theatre") despite the disturbing nature of the material........two extraordinary talents on screen tonight! If the reveal at the end turns out to be true, then Rebecca aka "Mister Sinister" is this years "best TV antagonist" hands down for playing everyone like a "mix tape" on Valentine's Day! Unbelievable episode tonight..........really a must see episode. 4 A MURDER FREE TRIAL, I am still Nobody!!!
If you ever get the chance to catch some of Cicely's earlier work you would really appreciate what she could do. I would suggest The Autobiography of Miss Jane Pittman and of course Roots and Sounder. She is a wonderful actress!
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
So so good. Someone else is biting the bullet next week, right??
ReplyDeleteCicely Tyson was amazing, connor and oliver awwwwwww, Rudy Walters!!! Rebecca uhhhhh from the beginning I did not believe the bitch and I was right, poor nate:(((

ReplyDeleteBeautifully written out Angela! I agree with every point you made :)

Aw, thanks :)! Happy to be in agreement!

She has spoken of 'A SECOND SEASON BABY' which I take to mean that she's on board.
ReplyDeleteI want to see if Frank tells her in teh next episode
ReplyDelete"What was that you said to me about not sleeping with students?"
Oooooooooooh. YES. Good call.
ReplyDeleteIf they're going to end on a crazy note next week, there'd BETTER be a second season, is all I can say :p.
ReplyDeleteSeriously, though, yeah, that's great news.
A season two was never in question.
ReplyDeleteDon't be so sure ;P Stalker and Galavant don't look like they're being renewed and they ended on HORRIBLE cliffhangers.
ReplyDeleteBut HTGAWM is most definitely going for another season.

ReplyDeleteAfter this episode, I'm imagining Bonnie going against Annalise on a case in further seasons...
ReplyDeleteAnd what an amazing performance from Cicely Tyson
it just gets better and better... I can't say anything more
ReplyDeleteEach episode has gotten better since it's post-hiatus return. This debut season is going out with a bang! Amazing stuff.
ReplyDeleteIs it too obvious for Rebecca to have killed Lilah? This show is about twists, right?
The Mom was amazing!
ReplyDeleteWatching Cicely Tyson and Viola Davis was pure perfection! Cicely might be in her 80's but she can still command a room without missing a beat!
ReplyDeleteIf you ever get the chance to catch some of Cicely's earlier work you would really appreciate what she could do. I would suggest The Autobiography of Miss Jane Pittman and of course Roots and Sounder. She is a wonderful actress!
ReplyDeleteHave to agree here. Not giging it a second seaeson would be insane and is just a matter of time.
ReplyDeleteThanks Laura! I'll be sure to check out her other work soon. She's a pretty great actress from what I've seen so far :)
