1) So sad for Hood because he really did cause all the chaos :( 2) I would very much like to be Bunker's uniform ;D 3) previem for next week looks like its going to be a feast for the eyes with all that awesome camera work
Very Nice and emotional episode, near perfect, but the whole Deva Stuff put a stain on that perfect.
At first I didn't get the alternate flashback, but then after like the 2nd one I got it. And that final movement between Lucas and Siobhan was so deep.
I liked how Rebecca took charge, and it was a shame Kai put her down, now she deserves(vs Deva) to rebel and go her own way if she wants, with Kai wanting her all to himself while banging that Succubus Emily.
Glad Hood got to have little mind justification over Chayton, but can't wait for the next one when he gets the real justice.
Lets hope next week is back to action and no more slow montage. It was good for this episode, but you don't need it for every episode, and only a little if there is a need for it. ( I still feel like the writer/director of the Unicorns episode drugged all the writer/director after him to influance them in his style) - Tho keep in mind I haven't hated any episode of Banshee before or after that episode. Full on love.
"if you shoot me mother fucker you won't get a shit for birthday!!", lol I don't remember if Job said that exactly but, I remember well it made me laugh my lungs out, best line EVER!!, well very touching episode, I love Hood, and I understand he wanted to make Chayton suffer, but hell stab him in THE BALLS!!, there you can't miss, he will suffer while he's bleeding out to death... I liked all the reconstruction Hood made in his head, but well, that's how life is, there is always that nonexistent if only I had..., now as a person who watched the 2 and half season in a week, I can tell I just can't understand the reason why Rebecca is still in the show, I just can't stand her, and also the little Deva whose parents are significantly attractive tall people and still she is such tiny little thing, who makes a bunch of stupid things and still has no consequences at all, if she were my kid she would be in a military school already.
I liked the last scene with Hood and Siobhan. I felt like he was saying goodbye. Then I saw the promo and nope, she`ll still be there to haunt him.
I want to see Rebecca and Burton team up. They seem like a similar type of crazy. Also, Brock`s ex is so dead. xD Bye, you won`t be missed.
Deva is really unlikable. Every time I see her doing something bad I think of so many things that could go wrong. She needs to cool don`t on the mommy and daddy issues. I was a teenager not so long ago and I never saw anyone behave the way she does.
Sandi did warn me about Bunker`s uniform. *fans herself* I can`t deal with him being the way he is. What a perfect man.
If Hood hadn't of riled Chayton so much last week and made it so personal then things may be a bit different, and if he'd gone for an quick clean execution he wouldn't have gotten away either. Hood's head isn't in the game atm, grief is making his judgement lousy unfortunately :(
That last scene where Siobhan was filling the tank in flashback/daydream got me big time, they really played on the conversation, well argument really, that Hood and Brock had last week in the Cadi. Everything he touches turns to blood, and what would have happened if he hadn't gotten involved in town affairs.
Seems to me Rebecca is being the tough one and Kai is becoming the soft one, almost a role reversal perhaps?
There is some camera work next week that makes it a very unique episode, but it's very different to anything I've ever seen before and it works very well. No slow montages, it's very fast paced.
Haha, Bunk looks amazing in his uniform. I'll be changing my icon later when I have some time ;)
It's going to take some time for Hood to get over Siobhan, it's one of the most realistic grief processes I've seen in a show. There's no forgetting she's gone for this season at least, she's going to be haunting him for some time yet I'm afraid.
Seems to me Rebecca is being the tough one and Kai is becoming the soft one, almost a role reversal perhaps?
Proctor hasn't gone soft, he is just more pragmatic, sly and efficient like a scalpel.. As for Rebecca, she is just like any new entry - a little too eager, hot headed and willing to be more tough. - like a hammer. She approached the business negotiations from a position of strength. After all their customers had betrayed them by buying from others. In short term thinking, I believe the way she handled them was awesome. But you also can't fault Proctor - he is after all more experienced than her and he is thinking of the long term.
Favorite Scenes: Hood thinking of an alternate reality where he makes different choices - 'should have done this; If this had happened/ if this didn't happen. I was very happy to see the original Lucas Hood. And the first sighting of Siobhan filling her car up, the glances and wordless goodbye stare was also very well done.
Loved all of Rebecca's scenes. She now knows about Proctor and Emily. She is going to take it very badly. I am sure of it.
Hood should have finished Chayton. If Banshee follows a dark South Korean film style, then Chayton comes back and kills everyone Hood cares about before dying at Hood's hands and Hood learns the hard way that he should have killed him then and there. I know that this isn't going to happen but I am just spit balling.
It's funny because I remember watching that scene and thinking the guy deserved everything he got for stealing and now I'm cheering for our gang to rob his ass and still remain somewhat unharmed. xD
I like how Proctor has gone for the comfort of a relative stranger's - Emily - arms, and talking through his pain and anguish with her, in his grief. While Hood has clammed up and can't even communicate with his long term friends how he is feeling or what he wants, even though Carrie and Job are trying to coax it out of him. The juxtaposition in the way they are handling the pain that they are going through is an interesting one for me. As is Sugar deciding to go to Leah's funeral but not Siobhan's.
Leah's death seems to be having no real impact on Rebecca's emotions on the surface at all at present, except perhaps making her more determined to step up and be successful. I agree with what you say, she's thinking too short term, and being too eager. I've always suspected that she has an addiction to power, it's what got her in bed with her uncle in the first place - both metaphorically and physically.
I have to say that there's no way I'd have stolen anything off of Stowe, he scares the bejeebers out of me! I think I'd rather work for the albino than him any day, and that's saying something XD
Antony Starr and Ulrich Thomsen have been both been phenomenal in their character's different grief processes I think. All the cast have been wonderful, but those two have been the stand out in the last two episodes for me, with Matt Servitto & Tom Pelphrey a close second :)
He should have just finished him while he slept. Chayton was flipping stupid to only have one guard, who left him to go for a leak, considering the hell he raised and the people who were after him! Saying that, I did like the "shhhhhhh" moment between them as he twisted the knife and I'm guessing Hood found that cathartic in many ways. But yeah, any crap Chayton causes from here on in is totally on Hood's head tbh!
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

wow, this ep was nerve wrecking...
ReplyDeleteHood's i'm-gonna-kill-EVERYONE face gives me chills. that man's eyes is full of emotions and the actor (Anthony) really breaks us...
that final scene.. god, tears, tears and more tears.... :'(
Well, actually Proctor caused all this by going to war with Chayton. But, he doesn't have a soul or feel any remorse for his actions

ReplyDeleteAt first I thought he did stab Chayton in the groin. Too bad he didn`t. That fucker needs to be hit by a truck otherwise he won`t die.
ReplyDeleteI think Rebecca will inherit Proctor`s business once he dies and she`ll only get crazier with time.
I liked the last scene with Hood and Siobhan. I felt like he was saying goodbye. Then I saw the promo and nope, she`ll still be there to haunt him.

Another fantastic episode! I'm stoked for the next!

It was a great send off episode for Siobhan I think, while still moving everyone else forward :)

The next one is quite creative, as you'd expect from Greg directing ;)
ReplyDeleteAll Hood's scenes have been devastating. Antony Starr has made me feel the desolation of Lucas. Antony is very great.

the last scene fucking gutted me .... i'm gonna miss siobhon so much :'(
ReplyDelete*sits in a sobbing mess on the floor*
i'm envying you so hard right now ...
ReplyDeleteugh , godammit, i love siobhan being on the show ... but i know every time i'll see her, it'll be like thousand punches to the gut .... :(
ReplyDeleteYas! Can't wait to see it! You're sending King Louis to early retirement? xD
ReplyDeleteI'm glad she's going to be on the show longer but hope that doesn't mess up Hood's epic robbery.
Roar!! ;)
ReplyDelete(Sorry Ryan :( lol)
Epic robbery is epic ;)
Aw, yeah! Sorry Ryan...but there's a new sheriff in town ;D
ReplyDeleteI'm worried about Carrie. I'm predicting she'll get some major ass-whooping from the military guy if he finds out she's been messing with him.
If only we could GIF, then I'd have them both interacting with each other. That would be cool ;) lol
ReplyDeleteI do love the Colonel, he's just as scary as Chayton in many ways. The way he went to town on that soldier who nick a few grand was mental!

ReplyDeleteYou are so right about that! That was some of the most creative and innovative filming that I've ever seen! Overall, it was amazing!
