They're doing it to drag that story line out. However you gotta take her point she doesn't want to end up dead either like his last love so I get where they were going with that. Will be interesting to see how far they take it though without dragging the absolute crap out of it!!! You know you love to get beaten upon...don't play the victim!!!
That's not dragging it out that's giving the romantic plot the addition of turning also the female unlikable.
At least she was a compassionate person until now, but now? Butthurt over what exactly? Reflecting her anger towards Oliver loving-not-loving her on a decision he made about something unrelated?
I voted awesome because i really liked the fight in the end and Oliver coming back..but this episode really seemed off almost the entire time..and Oliver's reunion with the team was kind of...i don't know..i expected more! It felt really rushed in the end! And omg, Olicity really is a big major DRAMA this season, isn't? lol That scene in the end was..wow!!!
This has nothing to do with Olicity.. Did you actually saw the story of the espisode? Forget about hte ship that took less than 1 minute of screentime.
LOVED TONIGHTS EPISODE OF ARROW "UPRISING" SORRY FOR MY COMMENT BEING CAPT BUT IM JUST EXCITED FOR NEXT WEDNESDAY NIGHT EPISODE OF ARROW. FINALLY OLIVER IS BACK AND HE WILL FIGHT BY LAUREL LANCE SIDE.
Love it because Oliver is finally back and I can't stand Felicity now .I mean come on Oliver is back from the dead and that is how she treats him when she finds out he is alive!
It was basically her rambling about their inconsistent feelings, he actually said "this is about something else, about me..." "saying you love me" meaning...she threw a hissy fit after his return because she was heartbroken over their relationship...how was that not a shipscene?
The Felicity is a stupid tv thing to drag things until the finale, in wich something else is gonna happen to drag that until Season 4... It's how tv works.
I honestly don't understand the whole Malcolm thing. The problem, wich i guess was Felicity's problem, was that he wasn't just using Malcolm to get out of the mess... He is like in good terms with him and they try to make him be good by making Laurel, Thea and Roy say he's ok and he's good...
How on earth is that ok? Oliver seemed to be on good terms with Malcolm. Laurel? She's gonna work with Merlyn too? Are you f**king kidding me...
Sorry, but today Arrow may just jumped the shark for me...
I am guessing and I'm open to be corrected on this...in her mind she was in this because of Oliver's principles on how he wanted to protect the city, that's why she stuck by him for so long. Prior to this he would never have entertained the idea of getting into bed with someone who was a complete 180 to them and what he believed no matter what. She believes that he has changed. He is willing to sacrifice everything that he has believed in and by default all of them to train with Malcolm rather than fight the good fight the old way. (Obviously she has a short memory and the old way involved him getting a sword through the gut and pushed down a pretty steep mountain but I digress). He is teaming up with Malcolm - the person that killed the last woman that he loved so what does that say about the women in his life that he is supposed to love!! That's my interpretation of what they are trying to do there....
OMG, Yesss!!! How idiotic was that???!!!!! And he didn't recognized Laurel's figure last episode? At least he should have notice that wasn't Sara... Did you see Caity and Katie? They're nothing alike!
Oliver was protecting Malcolm. He started a war with the LOA because of Malcolm. EVERYBODY on the cave wanted him to kill Malcolm and he said he wouldn't. It was pretty obvious he would use Malcolm if he needed to. That was totally out of line for Felicity. She was just mad because Oliver didn't came back FOR her.
Oliver being trained by him I understand Oliver being on good terms with him? Absolute crap.
Felicity getting annoyed with that team up made me cringe though, ey girl...he can train with him all he wants and lock him up later. Oliver isn't adapting Merlyns principles, just his skills to take down Ra's. She never got wind of the redemption crap and threw that drama anyway
I just think it went way to quick. Felcity JUST found out that someone she cares about is alive. And two seconds later she pissed because he didn't want to start dating?? I know it was more than than that, but maybe it would have played better with more time? Not, oh I'm happy you're alive!!, oh, you're doing something I disagree with well never mind then! "
This was the longest episode of my life. I was just PLEADING for Oliver to come back through the entire episode. And when he got in the back of that car and said goodbye to Tatsu, I said YESSSSS, pleaseeee god, Hurry up! Hurry Up!! Hurry Up!! I couldn't take anymore separation. But man do I hate when he's in pain. Physical or otherwise, my heart breaks when he's in pain. My precious Oliver. Awww.
See THIS is what separates ORIGINAL TEAM ARROW from This Team Arrow Shame on you Roy!! (And screw the other one)....FELICITY AND DIGGLE FTW!!! Never should've second guessed it. EVER! I loved that scene with Diggle and Merlyn!! It was awesome! Also Kudos to Felicity telling Quentin, "We call ourselves Team Arrow." Hahahaha. Ok speaking of Malcolm....
I really enjoyed his flashback scenes. I very much enjoyed seeing him as a.....human being? Innocent? An innocent human being? Lol One of those words should fit. I had to laugh when he was quivering holding that gun. Well done Barrowman, well done and I swear if they make him redeemable in any way. I'm scratching my f*cking eyes out. AND MY GOD CAN SOMEBODY GET THEA A CLUE??? She has money, can she please BUY A VOWEL!!! Ughhh!! She annoyed the shit outta me tonight. I couldn't take it. Smh.
I loved Quentin knowing about Roy, I thought that was hilarious. "Red hood. Dressed up Red suit." Roy: "Guess I don't need this then." Lol And THANK YOU SIN!!!! Boy do I miss you. I'm glad you can tell it's not Sara.
Oliver and Malcolm. I really do love their scenes together. It's always so tense.
OLICITY!!! OMG!!! THE HUG WAS SO SWEET! BUT UGHHHHHH!!!!! THEY MAKE ME ANGRY. AND I LOVE THEM SOOOO MUCHH!!! FELICITY HAS BEEN SO STRONG!! AND IT PISSES ME OFF!! As soon as she said..."I don't want to be the woman you love." I yelled SAY SOMETHING!!! THEN IT JUST CUTS OFF!!! I MEAN WHO THE F*CK DOES THAT?!?! THE FREAKING WRITERS THAT'S WHO!!!! I BLAME MARC!!!! WHYYYYY!!!!
OLIVER JONAS QUEEN!!! Goddamn! Have you ever seen him look so good in his suit!!! I cheered my ass off for him!!! "Don't do it." "You have not failed this city" GAH! I loved that!!! His entrance was badass, his exit was badass....HE IS BADASS!! I love him so much! And I am so glad he is back in Starling with his Team.
Honorable mention: Thug: "You that red streak I've been hearing about on the radio?" Roy: "Wrong City." Lol Alright Barry.
Overall. There were some things liked, a lot of things I didn't. But I'm just THRILLED that Oliver is back, and THAT, for me, gets an awesome.
It was ok episode love the fight scenes happy seeing Sin ok with Felicity I get where she coming from I'm not even a Oliver and Felicity fan that ending wow I don't like that they trying to redeem Malcolm he not redeemable
Felicity is the worst! How dare her? Oliver is doing everything to protect his sister and she is crying because he can't be with her? Also, Oliver was protecting Malcolm, why would she think he wouldn't make him his partner? I HATED THAT SCENE SO DAMN MUCH!
What a big F you from the producers. This show is getting so boring and the toying with the fans is getting old. Oh well hopefully the flash keeps getting better
1) Why Digg was on the Foundry the whole time? He wasn't doing anything... He was just there doing Felicity's work with Felicity by his side while Roy and Laurel went alone to fight Brick.
2) Da fak is wrong with Laurel and Roy? Is Roy actually trying to make Malcolm seen like a lovable father. Seriously? Thank God Digg and Felicity were thinking straight.
3) WTF with Thea? How on Earth is Malcolm good...
4) That Oliver/Malcolm scene when he "redeem" himself... WTF was that?
5) Oliver wasn't just using Merlyn. He give him his hand like nothing happened...
Sorry, this crap made no sense AT ALL. I don't care about the stunts... The story was crap.
know what that means? Barrowman gets his contractually obligated shirtless scenes with Amell.
But I'm not sure about their alliance...Merlyn isn't a human being and he doesen't care about Thea. Why would Oliver buy that?! I get why they teamed up for Ra's. But Oliver just...letting this go?
Yes. They are really messing up Felicity to make this crap romance. Felicity could have asked what happened, why he would think something like that. But she was just "Oh, you don't love your sister, you didn't love Sara, I don't want you love." Man, I am pissed!
Doubt there is any chance she would go on a permanent basis of to do ATOM. Maybe for the first season if ATOM becomes a summer show. I don't even get the point of an ATOM spin off he wants to make the City safe, what will Ollie take a summer vacation of what? Don't know the ep frustrated me so much, just writing an angry review for my blog.
right? It was like they were like "Oh, we need to add some drama ASAP, QICK has Oliver done something she doesen't like" "He's getting trained by Merlyn" "Does she know about the redemption?" "Not yet" "Eh, f***k it, we'll pretend like she wasn't as smart as usual"
Was totally right about the show trying to redeem Malcolm. SMH
And I'm definitely on Felicity's side on the whole debate. Clearly her and Diggle are the only ones with their head screwed on straight for not wanting to team up with Malcolm. IDK why she's being called a bitch for standing up strong for what she believes in and calling Oliver out with the facts.
Maybe she is pissed that he didn't come back for her. I think what I mentioned is the writers reasons for making her react that way she did. It is out of character for her though and I'm not a fan. I'm assuming that this is going to push her more towards Ray, away from Oliver and the team for a while and that will be why she takes him to Central City to improve his suit.
There were times that he came back from the field when they were happier to see each other. Was expecting more and it didn't come across on screen to me anyway!!!
I might be the only one but i can totally see Felicity's side, working with Malcolm is the stupidest thing i ever heard. Oliver kind of been a jerk since he's been back.
Yeah but his goal is to keep Starling save cause what happened to his fiancee. So what now he is going to pick another city in danger cause Starling has Arrow? And it's Ivy Town. ^_^
I feel like she has enough information about what Malcolm has done to not trust him at all. She's calling Oliver out on the information she already has. Which is pretty damning.
Because she has no right to doubt his love for his sister or Sara. She has no right to be like that, she don't even know why he is doing that. It was her worst scene in the whole show.
It's not her call to make, he also COULD have made the decision on different terms.
But the very second she attacked his LOVE for his sister she absolutely jumped the gun in a way I don't think anyone with a brain would have. She verbally attacked him for making a needed but desperate choice.
Why wouldn't he team up with the guy that has been trained by Ra's?
Let's forget that sh***ty redemption (wich is sh*t) but look at it sober. It's neccessary.
Also...Felicity knows Merlyn the least. Oliver grew up around the guy and probably knows him better than the one person that has NEVER interacted with him.
they not redeem him Oliver can stop him later at his weakest point or something and sent him to prison......the writers aren't stupid to redeem him he has too much blood
Felicity's reaction was appropriate for who she is. She is their light. She believes that you never side with evil to get something done. You find another way, ie: bringing the people of the glades together to fight Brick. Why would she want to be a woman he loves if he is willing to throw that away and turn his back on his principles to defeat an enemy. He just dishonored Sara by agreeing to work with her killer. Oliver was wrong this time. Yes, her feelings for him were part of it, but who he came home as was most of it.
Oliver always says that they could find another way. I can understand if they spent a week exhausting all the options and have Malcolm be the worst case scenario but that wasn't the case. I suppose we will never really agree on this but yeah... I suppose that's how i feel :)
for being their "light" she was pretty dark for verbally attacking and questioning Olivers love for his sister.
And if her ideals are so clean why did she condone Oliver killing the baddies in season 1?
There's a grey line, Malcolm is the neccessary evil right now. She didn't know about that sh*tty redemptionanyway, the only reason for that conversation was unneeded drama
If i'm being honest i didn't pay that much atention... i was screaming at my tv after that s**tty episode as a whole. For me the show comes first, the ship is just a minor thing... Right now i don't care about a ship, i care about all the crap this show pulled off.
Read my comment to the other guy in this thread :) Also, Felicity doesn't need to know Merlyn to know that he's a terrible person and manipulative (based on what he's done). I didn't know Hitler but I know he's the worst person ever.
I feel like this redemption arc is ridiculous and I think that's the only thing I'll agree with you on this episode.
The problem isn't that Merlyn is as bad as Hitler (wich I wouldn't even disagree with) the problem is that Oliver made a fairly explainable decision: he couldn't beat Ra's, so he needs someone to train him. Someone that needs Ra's dead as bad as Oliver does. In every rational mind that would make sense. However her reaction wasn't about that, it was about him returning and not being on her side. That was a fairly petty conversation that showcased that her interest wasn't in his ideals but him not returning for her.
I'm with you on that, he's a monster that is beyond redemption. The writers are probably dropping a big nut with that (nevertheless I condone his decision to train with him purely because Merlyn would gain nothing from betraying them again, it's like playing with a flame)
OMG, thank you. I see a lot of people saying, but he's Oliver's only chance of beating Ra's and all I can think is WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT? Malcolm is selfish and he only thinks about himself. If he trully cared about Thea he wouldn't put her in the freaking line of fire between him an Ra's. If Malcolm appears wearing angels wings I would still not trust him, wtf!
They are redeeming him... and it's bulls**t. I, for once, can't believe they're even teaming up with him. Oliver using him is one thing, but shaking hands and talking about Tommy and he being ok with his relationship with Thea?
I hope you're right and things blow up in Oliver's face spetacularly. I've never rooted against Oliver but now I want him yelling I WAS WRONG while Kenny G plays a sad melody.
I was just trying to make a point. A man who kills 500+ people isn't a good man. ANd if you ever came across someone like that, you would never trust him. My example was a bit of a hyperbole, but you get it.
I see comments on here saying that people think Felicity made that conversation about her relationship with Oliver. I didn't see it that way. I think it was Felicity saying that Oliver effed up and she wants nothing to do with it. And nothing to do with Oliver either because earlier in the episode she said that Oliver would never agree with teaming up with Malcolm (if I'm not mistaken?)... Obviously she thinks that there's something loose in Oliver's head. And she wants none of it. Working with Malcolm is disrespecting Thea, and if he disrespects Thea like that, then she doesn't want to be disrespected by Oliver like that (which he probably will if he doesn't figure shit out).
Oliver isn't protecting Malcolm. He is protecting Thea. Oliver confessed to Sara's murder and went to fight Ra's to the death because killing him was the only was to insure that Ra's and/or the LOA wouldn't come after Thea.
Was Felicity's reaction a little over the top. Perhaps, but it was very understandable. Let's looks at what transpired beforehand. Team Arrow just went up against Brickwell and his mob to save the Glades as well as the innocent people who lived there. Now Oliver wants team up with Malcolm ... the man who also sought to destroy the Glades and killed over 500 people in the process. Regarding Felicity's comment about not wanting to be a woman Oliver loved. It was not about her being hurt because she and everyone else thought Oliver was dead. It's about how (in Felicity's mind) Oliver is dishonoring the women in his life he claims to love by teaming up with Malcolm. Malcolm forced Moira into silence by threatening her if she exposed his plans for the Uprising. Malcolm controlled Thea into killing Sara. Malcolm has violated all of these women who Oliver loves very much. I believe that was the reasoning behind Felcity's remark. I also believe Oliver understood the reason, intent, and emotion behind her words.
Once tensions subside and cooler heads prevail, I hope Oliver explains to Felicity how he must be trained by the devil he knows to defeat the more sinister devil he doesn't because she will understand.
YO, chill out. I told you how I felt. We've reached an impasse. There's no way we're ever going to agree. So let's just leave it at that. No need for yelling.
The way it played made her seem like a bitch. She spent, what, .3 seconds being happy Oliver is alive? They needed more time between her being happy and her being "f-you Oliver!!"
And I'm not happy with the Malcolm thing either. Him turning is daughter into a killer is 100% unforgivable and screw this show if they try to redeem him. But this show like to pretend like the 20+ murder Oliver committed in season one don't count
I'm just frustrated, I really liked this show and this season has been a massive disappointment. Maybe it can still end well.
I think she was just showing how his love was coming across. If Thea knew how Malcom had used her would she work with him or want Oliver to? Also, Felicity really didn't agree with him killing in season 1. She almost quit because of it and at the beginning of season 2 she was all for him finding another way. Her asking him to kill Ra's before he left was more out of character for her, and all due to her feelings, than this.
You got me wrong on that lol, we were joking about Barrowman demanding to see Stephen shirtless last year a lot (you know, because Barrowman loves Amells sixpack).
Exactly, Merlyn is doing that for himself. But Oliver isn't exactly sitting down and having lunch with the guy. He's getting trained by the neccessary evil here. Only to protect Thea. It's a fairly rational decision (thus my anger with Felicitys OOC reaction and downright offensivenes in her speech). Of course Ra's will go after Thea, that's why he's training with merlyn: to protect her
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
lol
ReplyDeletebut for being "everybody`s favourite" Felicity is a bit of a bitch
One of the worst Arrow eps of the season! Out of order!

see...that's the simplest way to say this..she was pissed that he didn't do things she thought he would do.

"So...Sara...you lost some weight, grew and had a breast reduction? Good on you honey"

ReplyDeleteIt was ok episode love the fight scenes happy seeing Sin ok with Felicity I get where she coming from I'm not even a Oliver and Felicity fan that ending wow I don't like that they trying to redeem Malcolm he not redeemable
ReplyDeleteit makes no real sense though
ReplyDeleteif we're being sober here: Ra's beat Oliver because Oliver wasn't experienced enough, Thus he approaches the only person that knows HOW to fight him.
The forgiving part wasn't even mentioned to Felicity.
it's Arrow kicking Oliciters right in their balls.
ReplyDeleteBut not only them but also those that don't care about the romance because they still exposed it
I'll be honest here: this may or may not have been a set up to get Felicity to a potential Atom spin-off
Felicity is the worst! How dare her? Oliver is doing everything to protect his sister and she is crying because he can't be with her?

1.) Maybe he's tired? He's probably only two days from retirement and knows from experience that these two days are incredibly dangerous
ReplyDelete2.) didn't get that either, he was using Thea to get Oliver to fight Ra`s. Like WTF?
3.) ikr? He's a monster, at least Roy or Oliver should've accepted that
4.) I got that Oliver wants Merlyn to train him, makes sense to defeat Ra's. BUT they should've stayed on bad terms
5.) Like I said: train but still hate him. Dude...this guy killed his kid and 500+ people
still Felicitys reaction was...

ReplyDeleteHe has Ivy City...
ReplyDeleteYeah,I get that this was to push the romance.
ReplyDeleteBut I admired Felicity despite Olicity for being rational, compassionate and smart. Her reaction made her appear like...and I quote Jeff Winger here:
"You act like a petty schoolgirl and not in a hot way"
There were times that he came back from the field when they were happier to see each other. Was expecting more and it didn't come across on screen to me anyway!!!
ReplyDeleteThis forced redemption of Malcolm is so stupid
ReplyDeleteeh, she completely f***ed over Oliver for having made a decision she knew no details about, not the smart Felicity I remember
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry but Felicity gets on my nerves!
ReplyDeleteI might be the only one but i can totally see Felicity's side, working with Malcolm is the stupidest thing i ever heard. Oliver kind of been a jerk since he's been back.
ReplyDeleteYeah but his goal is to keep Starling save cause what happened to his fiancee. So what now he is going to pick another city in danger cause Starling has Arrow?
ReplyDeleteAnd it's Ivy Town. ^_^
I feel like she has enough information about what Malcolm has done to not trust him at all. She's calling Oliver out on the information she already has. Which is pretty damning.
ReplyDeleteBecause she has no right to doubt his love for his sister or Sara. She has no right to be like that, she don't even know why he is doing that. It was her worst scene in the whole show.
ReplyDeleteI'm completely with you.
ReplyDeleteIt's not her call to make, he also COULD have made the decision on different terms.
ReplyDeleteBut the very second she attacked his LOVE for his sister she absolutely jumped the gun in a way I don't think anyone with a brain would have.
I bashed my head towards my table when he had his "I was a good man once..." line.
ReplyDeleteI GET why they team up, it's perfectly reasonable.
BUT HE KILLED 500 FU***ING PEOPLE IN HIS RAGE!
they not redeem him Oliver can stop him later at his weakest point or something and sent him to prison......the writers aren't stupid to redeem him he has too much blood
ReplyDeleteI couldn't care less about Felicity's romantic life. Really.
ReplyDeleteFelicity's reaction was appropriate for who she is.
ReplyDeleteOliver always says that they could find another way. I can understand if they spent a week exhausting all the options and have Malcolm be the worst case scenario but that wasn't the case. I suppose we will never really agree on this but yeah... I suppose that's how i feel :)
ReplyDeleteYeah, i changed it after i wrote it Jajaja I'm not ok after that whole crap xD
ReplyDeleteWell, it has to stand on it's own, so a new city is the best.
was it that bad I don't get cw on dish I live in too small of town in the Midwest I can only watch it on hulu plus
ReplyDeletefor being their "light" she was pretty dark for verbally attacking and questioning Olivers love for his sister.
ReplyDeleteAnd if her ideals are so clean why did she condone Oliver killing the baddies in season 1?
There's a grey line, Malcolm is the neccessary evil right now. She didn't know about that sh*tty redemptionanyway, the only reason for that conversation was unneeded drama
If i'm being honest i didn't pay that much atention... i was screaming at my tv after that s**tty episode as a whole. For me the show comes first, the ship is just a minor thing... Right now i don't care about a ship, i care about all the crap this show pulled off.
ReplyDeleteI see Felicity's side.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you... and the show is stupid for trying to make us see Malcolm as a good person all of the sudden.
ReplyDeleteRead my comment to the other guy in this thread :) Also, Felicity doesn't need to know Merlyn to know that he's a terrible person and manipulative (based on what he's done). I didn't know Hitler but I know he's the worst person ever.
ReplyDeleteI feel like this redemption arc is ridiculous and I think that's the only thing I'll agree with you on this episode.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on that, he's a monster that is beyond redemption. The writers are probably dropping a big nut with that (nevertheless I condone his decision to train with him purely because Merlyn would gain nothing from betraying them again, it's like playing with a flame)
OMG, thank you.
ReplyDeleteI see a lot of people saying, but he's Oliver's only chance of beating Ra's and all I can think is WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT?
Malcolm is selfish and he only thinks about himself. If he trully cared about Thea he wouldn't put her in the freaking line of fire between him an Ra's.
If Malcolm appears wearing angels wings I would still not trust him, wtf!
They are redeeming him... and it's bulls**t. I, for once, can't believe they're even teaming up with him. Oliver using him is one thing, but shaking hands and talking about Tommy and he being ok with his relationship with Thea?
ReplyDeleteI'm with Felicity here...
I do care about all in one, the simple fact that Felicitys side made no sense for her prior character made me rage.
ReplyDeleteAnd the fact that they misused that scene for creating drama between them made me even more angry.
Yes, I love Malcolm and no,I don't want him redeemed. He's a villain and needs to stay one. And yet her reaction was sh*t
I hope you're right and things blow up in Oliver's face spetacularly. I've never rooted against Oliver but now I want him yelling I WAS WRONG while Kenny G plays a sad melody.
ReplyDeleteI was just trying to make a point. A man who kills 500+ people isn't a good man. ANd if you ever came across someone like that, you would never trust him. My example was a bit of a hyperbole, but you get it.
ReplyDeleteI see comments on here saying that people think Felicity made that conversation about her relationship with Oliver.
IDK that's how I saw it. Hope it makes sense.
Oliver isn't protecting Malcolm. He is protecting Thea. Oliver confessed to Sara's murder and went to fight Ra's to the death because killing him was the only was to insure that Ra's and/or the LOA wouldn't come after Thea.
ReplyDeleteWas Felicity's reaction a little over the top.
ReplyDeleteThe way it played made her seem like a bitch. She spent, what, .3 seconds being happy Oliver is alive? They needed more time between her being happy and her being "f-you Oliver!!"
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm not happy with the Malcolm thing either.
It does, because if you redeem Merlyn you can still go back and turn him into a villain. He's been at his worst already
ReplyDeleteFelicity however, despite the Olicity crapfest, was till now understandable and likable. This changed tonight and is a point of no return
Well, I am sorry. You said "I can understand if they spent a week exahausting all the options" and I think almost dying is kind of the same.
ReplyDeleteI think she was just showing how his love was coming across.
ReplyDeleteYou got me wrong on that lol, we were joking about Barrowman demanding to see Stephen shirtless last year a lot (you know, because Barrowman loves Amells sixpack).
ReplyDeleteExactly, Merlyn is doing that for himself.
But Oliver isn't exactly sitting down and having lunch with the guy. He's getting trained by the neccessary evil here. Only to protect Thea.
It's a fairly rational decision (thus my anger with Felicitys OOC reaction and downright offensivenes in her speech).
Of course Ra's will go after Thea, that's why he's training with merlyn: to protect her
Still her idea.
