I do interviews and write articles for the site in addition to reviewing a number of shows, including Supernatural, Arrow, Agents of Shield, The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, Forever, Defiance, Bitten, Glee, and a few others! When I'm not writing about television shows, I'm often writing about entertainment and media law in my capacity as a legal scholar. I also work in theatre when the opportunity arises. 1. Maple's town name HAS to be a shout-out to the classic Twilight Zone episode "The Monsters Are Coming to Maple Street"!

  2. I love that Team Machine is in the dark while the viewers know what happened. Sets up an interesting dynamic with Root and the Machine and basically everyone else. On the other side, we know that Shaw is open to the idea of Samaritan and while they won't show us her transformation to bad or her persistence of being a good guy, the writers can keep her in their back pocket for the big reveal closer to the series finale.

  3. Loved Amy Acker's performance in this episode. Really interesting seeing her mindset when compared to, say, Finch's or Reese's, and the end suggests a rift between her and her Machine, her goddess. Will be very intriguing moving forward.

  5. Awesome episode all-around, but I especially loved Reese's contributions:
The way they filmed the (pre-)abduction of Ms. Thompson was excellent, and the argument Reese has with Finch about said abductee's torture was a neat way to bring back one of the fundamental debates between John and Harold.

  6. All the R&R scenes. Root kind of brought out the darkness of Reese. I loved them together.

Any scene with Finch and Root is gold. Always. So was the case at the end of this episode. Great scene between the two and Amy Acker just portrayed Root in anguish and doubt at the Machine perfectly.

  7. I have voted for the last two scenes. Root with Harold at the telephone with she eventually leaving and then Shaw being revealed to be alive!
