Wesley Snipes Joins NBC Pilot ‘Endgame’

In a pilot casting season “get”, Wesley Snipes is coming to television with a co-starring role opposite Strike Back’s Philip Winchester in NBC drama pilot Endgame. Also cast in the project, from Leverage co-creator John Rogers, Blacklist producer Davis Entertainment and Sony TV, is Damon Gupton. Described as a high-octane thriller set in the high-stakes world of Las Vegas, Endgame centers on Alex (Winchester), a former intelligence officer turned security expert who is drawn into a mysterious conspiracy that forces him to complete a series of heroic challenges in order to save innocent lives. Snipes plays the unflappable, analytical and mysterious Johnson, Pit Boss for The Game who keeps an eye on the big picture but is also capable of cleaning up a mess when things spiral too far out of control. Calista Flockhart Joins ‘Supergirl’ Pilot

Ally McBeal and Brothers & Sisters star Calista Flockhart is returning to network television with a co-starring role opposite Melissa Benoist in the CBS pilot Supergirl. She will play Kara’s boss Cat Grant in the project, reuniting with Brothers & Sisters executive producer Greg Berlanti.

Based on the DC Comics characters, Supergirl — from Warner Bros. TV, studio-based Berlanti Prods. and writers/executive producers Berlanti and Ali Adler — centers on Kara Zor-El (Benoist). Since arriving on Earth, the Krypton-born Kara has been hiding the powers she shares with her famous cousin, Superman. But now at age 24, she decides to embrace her superhuman abilities and be the hero she always was meant to be. Kara works as as assistant to Grant, a self-made media magnate and founder of CatCo who started her career as a reporter and has built her company into a global powerhouse.

Paula Patton Toplines ABC Pilot ‘Runner’

After lengthy negotiations, Paula Patton (Mission Impossible – Ghost Protocol) has signed on for the lead in ABC drama pilot Runner, marking the first major series commitment for the feature actress.

Written by Michael Cooney based on the Turkish series Son and directed by Michael Offer, the project, from 20th TV and ABC Studios, is to guns what Traffic was to drugs and delves into the traditionally masculine world of arms dealing through the lens of a woman. It centers on Lauren Marks (Patton), a wife and mother who had believed her husband had died in a plane crash, only to discover him alive, well and traveling with a mysterious woman who uses Lauren’s stolen identity. Thrown into a world of secrets and crime, Lauren finds herself running into Mexican cartels and people from her past she had hoped to forget. Cooney executive produces with Peter Horton, Ian Sander, Kim Moses and Jon Cowan, who serves as showrunner.

Oliver Platt Joins NBC’s ‘Chicago Med’

Oliver Platt has been tapped to co-star in NBC’s Chicago Fire planted spinoff, Chicago Med. Platt is joining S. Epatha Merkerson, Yaya DaCosta and Laurie Holden in the ensemble medical drama project whose cast will be introduced in Episode 19 of Chicago Fire this season. Platt will play the intelligent head of psychiatry, Dr. Daniel Charles.

Julie Plec’s CW Pilot ‘Cordon’ Casts Leads

CW drama pilot Cordon has set its leads, casting David Gyasi (Intestellar), Christina Moses, Chris Wood and Kristen Gutoskie. Written by The Vampire Diaries and The Originals showrunner Julie Plec based on a Belgian format and directed by David Nutter, Cordon chronicles the aftermath of a deadly epidemic outbreak in Atlanta.

Gyasi and Moses will play the central characters, making the first time the CW has had a black leading duo. Gyasi plays Atlanta police major Alex “Lex” Carnahan, a resolute, loyal and good-hearted police officer who’s responsible for maintaining the cordoned area. Moses plays Jana, Lex’s capable girlfriend, who’s trapped inside the Cordon in an Atlanta office high-rise.

Plec has recruited The Vampire Diaries recurring player Wood to play Jake, a former renegade turned cop and Lex’s best friend who finds himself trapped inside the cordon. Gutoskie plays Katie, a twenty-something grade-school teacher and single mother who’s trapped inside the walls of Atlanta Midtown Hospital.

FX's 'Bastard Executioner' Cast Includes Kurt Sutter, Katey Sagal, Stephen Moyer
Kurt Sutter and FX have set a cast of familiar faces and newcomers for its period drama pilot The Bastard Executioner

The Bastard Executioner centers on a warrior knight in King Edward II's charge who is broken by the ravages of war and vows to lay down his sword. But when the violence finds him again, he's forced to pick up the bloodiest sword of all.

Newcomer Lee Jones, an Australian theater actor, will star as Wilkin Brattle, the imposing and emotionally deep yet spiritually tortured former knight in charge of King Edward I. He now lives a simple agrarian life.

True Blood alum Stephen Moyer will co-star as Milus Corbett, a street-smart and noble savvy who was one of Ventris' marshals in the army. He now serves as his chamberlain, chancellor and justiciar — and friend and drinking mate.

Katey Sagal, who was Sutter's leading lady in Sons of Anarchy, will star as Annora of the Alders, a woman described as prescient, mystical and beautiful who offers predictions, cures and potions.

Flora Spencer-Longhurst is set as Baroness Lowry "Love" Aberffraw Ventris. As cunning as she is kind and beautiful, the character hails from a wealthy Welsh family and married Ventris at 17 to protect her family's land. Her noble duties always in conflict with her Welsh pride.

Sutter, as he did with Sons of Anarchy, will also have an on-screen role and play a The Dark Mute, the mate and guardian of Annora (Sagal). The character rarely speaks and no one's ever seen his face.

Sam Spruell (Snow White and the Huntsman, The Hurt Locker) is set as Toran Prichard, an archer under Madog Llywelyn in the last major Welsh rebellion. He put down the bow and picked up the hoe and is Wilkin's best mate.

Darren Evans (Galavant) will star as Ash y Goedwig, a trapper and orphan "of the woods" who is a friend to Wilkin.

Danny Sapani (Trance, Penny Dreadful) will portray Berber the Moor: A large, educated man who is a converted Muslim and farmer as well as a friend to Wilkin.

Timothy V. Murphy (Sons of Anarchy) will play Father Ruskin, a brawny yet gentle man with a bottled fury who is a former soldier that Left the military for the seminary. He's a priest, rector and teacher of the court.

Sarah White will play as Isabel Kiffin, Lady Love's handmaiden and trusted confidant.

Sarah Sweeny rounds out the cast as Jessamy Maddox, described as pretty but hardened by abuse, she's the executioner’s wife.

Additionally, Matthew Rhys (The Americans) has booked a guest starring role as Gruffudd y Blaidd, the leader of the Welsh rebels, Byth Encil. The role is not expected to impact his co-starring role on FX's The Americans.

Margo Martindale Joins Bryan Cranston-David Shore CBS Drama Pilot ‘Sneaky Pete’

The Millers‘ Margo Martindale is returning to CBS with a co-starring role in drama pilot Sneaky Pete, written and executive produced by Breaking Bad star Bryan Cranston and House creator David Shore for Sony TV. This also marks a return to the drama side for Martindale, who won an Emmy for role in FX’s Justified, also produced by Sony.

Sneaky Pete centers on a thirty-something con man who, upon leaving prison, takes cover from his past by assuming the identity of a cellmate. “Sneaky Pete” then hides out from his debtors while working for his new “family’s” bail bond business. There he uses his considerable charm and criminal prowess to take down bad guys far worse than himself, partnering with a very attractive female “cousin” who has her suspicions about his real motives. Martindale will play Audrey, who with her husband is trying to keep the family bail bond business afloat when Pete shows up on their door step.

Rob Riggle To Topline Fox Pilot ’48 Hours ‘Til Monday’, Jane Curtin To Co-Star

Rob Riggle is set as the lead in Fox’s single-camera comedy pilot 48 Hours ‘Til Monday, written/exec produced by Charlie Grandy. Also cast in the project, from Universal TV and TBD Prods., is Jane Curtin. 48 Hours chronicles husband and father of three Charlie’s (Riggle) desperate struggle not to let every weekend go completely to hell. Curtin will play Charlie’s cigarette-smoking mother-in-law, Louise, who, along with her husband, lives in his house and displays her relaxed attitude toward child-rearing when forced to babysit.

Erika Christensen Joins ABC’s ‘L.A. Crime’

Parenthood co-star Erika Christensen is taking a darker turn for her followup series project — a lead role in ABC’s drama pilot L.A. Crime, from ABC Studios and Mandeville.

The character-driven, “true-crime” procedural, written by Steven Baigelman and directed by Tom Shankland, explores sex, politics and popular culture across various noteworthy eras in Los Angeles history. In Season 1, two LA cops will be searching for a Bonnie & Clyde-esque serial-killing team amidst the coke-infused rock ‘n’ roll, revelry of the 1980s Sunset Strip. Christensen, who has signed a one-year deal, will play Betty, a single mother who was supposed to be a killer’s latest victim but enters a romantic relationship with him instead.

Angela Kinsey To Star In ABC Comedy Pilot ‘The 46 Percenters’

The Office alumna Angela Kinsey is set as a lead in ABC’s multi-camera comedy pilot The 46 Percenters. The casting stems from Kinsey’s collaboration with ABC earlier this development season on a buddy comedy project, which she co-wrote and was attached to star in. The 46 Percenters is described as an unromantic romantic comedy about the 46% of the population who choose to stay married as told through the POV of three couples. Kinsey will play half of one of the couples, Marni, a wife and mother.

YouTube Star Flula Borg To Topline NBC Comedy Pilot ‘Cuckoo’

German-born DJ, musician, actor and YouTube personality Flula Borg has landed the title role in NBC’s comedy pilot Cuckoo, an adaptation of the breakout BBC Three comedy series, which starred Andy Samberg.

NBC’s Cuckoo is the story of a middle-class family whose daughter comes back from a summer abroad married to a charming but infuriating eccentric named Cuckoo (Borg), much to her father’s annoyance.

Melanie Kannokada Joins ‘Code Black'; Andrea Anders In ‘How We Live’

Melanie Kannokada has joined the cast of CBS drama pilot Code Black, a medical drama written by Intelligence creator Michael Seitzman and directed by David Semel. Based on Ryan McGarry’s feature documentary of the same name, the drama series — like the docu — is set in the busiest and most notorious ER in the nation, LA County Hospital, where the extraordinary staff confronts a broken system in order to protect their ideals and the patients who need them the most. Kannokada will play Malaya, a doctor who is starting her residency. Kannokada guest stars in an arc in HBO’s upcoming series The Brink.

Andrea Anders (Joey) has landed a regular role in NBC’s single-camera comedy pilot How We Live, written/executive produced by Steven Cragg and Brian Bradley (Happy Endings) and executive produced by David Janollari. Inspired by Cragg and Bradley’s personal observations of their own family lives, the project centers on Russell, a blogger, and his wife Holly who move to the suburbs where he begins writing about marriage and the family lives of his suburban friends and neighbors, in the style of an anthropologist who has stumbled on an undiscovered tribe. Anders will play Natalie, a stay-at-home mom who is Holly’s best friend.

Lucien Laviscount Joins Fox’s ‘Scream Queens’

Lucien Laviscount (One Night In Istanbul) has been tapped for a series regular role on Scream Queens, Fox’s comedy-horror series created by Glee creators Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan. The first installment of the anthology series, slated for next fall, revolves around a college campus that is rocked by a series of murders. Laviscount will join an ensemble cast that includes Lea Michele, Jamie Lee Curtis, Emma Roberts, Nick Jonas, Keke Palmer, Joe Manganiello and Abigail Breslin.

Brian Austin Green & Liza Lapira Cast In Dana Klein’s Fox Comedy Pilot

Brian Austin Green (The Wedding Band) and Super Fun Night alumna Liza Lapira are set to co-star opposite Jenna Elfman in Fox’s untitled Dana Klein comedy pilot, from 20th Century Fox TV and Kapital Entertainment. Written/exec produced by Klein and directed by Pam Fryman, it is told from the point of view of Ellen (Elfman), a working mom who is in constant competition with her perfect, stay-at-home sister-in-law Amy (Lapira). Green plays Amy’s husband Jack Stanley, an undisciplined, laid back, rule breaker who pretty much does whatever he wants and doesn’t worry about the consequences (except when it comes to his wife, Amy, who terrifies him).
