Selma co-star Stephan James is set for a lead role in Unveiled, NBC’s supernatural/spiritual drama pilot from Mark Burnett and Roma Downey.

Written by John Sakmar & Kerry Lenhart, Unveiled follows an ensemble of flawed guardian angels who intervene in the lives of those who find themselves facing crisis in an attempt to restore their faith and, often, save their lives. James plays Daniel Shepard, a rookie Guardian angel unfamiliar with human suffering, but striving to understand it. Overcome by a loving desire to help others, Daniel sometimes bends the rules for the greater good.

Doubt, from longtime Grey’s Anatomy executive producers Tony Phelan and Joan Rater, Timberman/Beverly and CBS TV Studios, centers on Sadie, a smart, chic, successful defense lawyer at a boutique firm who shockingly gets involved romantically with one of her clients who may or may not be guilty of a brutal crime. Hill will play Albert, Sadie’s law partner and close friend with a good sense of humor who is working with her on a very high-profile case, representing a member of a prominent New York family. Libii plays Nick, a smart, ambitious and enterprising recent law school graduate who is determined to work with the best criminal defense attorney in New York.

Sullivan Stapleton To Star In NBC Pilot ‘Blindspot’

NBC’s drama pilot Blindspot has hit the casting jackpot, landing arguably the most heavily pursued actor and actress this broadcasting pilot season as its male and female leads. Strike Back and 300: Rise Of An Empire star Sullivan Stapleton is set as the male lead opposite Jaimie Alexander in the project, from Warner Bros. TV and Greg Berlanti Prods.

The pilot, written by Martin Gero and directed by Mark Pellington, chronicles what happens when a beautiful woman, Jane Doe (Alexander), is found in the middle of Times Square in New York City with her memory wiped and no clue as to what the extensive tattoos on her body mean. Stapleton will play FBI special agent Kurt Weller, the leader of an elite FBI unit. He is called in from a mission to investigate the woman — who has his name written on her back.

Rockmond Dunbar To Star In NBC Pilot ‘Love Is A Four Letter Word’

Rockmond Dunbar has booked his next series regular gig, signing on as the male lead in the NBC drama pilot Love Is A Four Letter Word. The project, from playwright-TV writer Diana Son, 20th TV and Fabrik, chronicles the collision of race, sexuality and gender roles when three diverse couples put modern marriage to the test.

Dunbar will play half of the lead couple, Nick, a charismatic and charming ad agency entrepreneur whose first marriage to Julie, the mother of two of his children, broke up over his affair with Fiona, now his wife. Nick and Fiona have an open marriage, and Fiona takes full advantage of their “arrangement” — but through the years, Nick has always pined for Julie, the true love of his life.

Patrick Brammall Cast In ‘Strange Calls'; Utkarsh Ambudkar In ‘Fantasy Life’

Patrick Brammall, who co-starred in the Australian comedy series Strange Calls, is set to reprise his role in the U.S. remake. The Aussie actor has been cast in the NBC comedy pilot Strange Calls, from Kapital Entertainment, Hoodlum and 20th TV. Written by Blake McCormick based on the Australian format, it centers on an affable but down on his luck young police officer. He is transferred to a rural town where — with the help of a peculiar, elderly night watchman — he starts to realize the town has a bizarre supernatural underbelly. Brammall will reprise his role as Lloyd, a macho cop who made Sergeant at a young age, but is not quite as smart, tough or cool as he thinks he is. In fact, his flawless record and success as an officer are based on his philosophy of confronting the easy-to-solve crimes and pretending the not-so-easy ones never happened.

Utkarsh Ambudkar (Pitch Perfect) is set as a regular opposite Kevin Connolly and Vanessa Williams in Fox’s multi-camera/hybrid pilot Fantasy Life, written by Tim McAuliffe based on the memoir by one of U.S.’ top fantasy experts, ESPN’s Matthew Berry. When a hard-working guy, Mitch (Connolly) lands his ultimate dream job hosting fantasy football show on Fox Sports (Fox synergy at work), he’s forced to navigate office politics while becoming the star he never thought he could be. Ambudkar will play Max, an outgoing and sometimes embarrassingly obsequious IT guy at Fox Sports who is a fantasy football buff and longtime fan of Mitch’s. His dream in life is to be Mitch’s personal assistant, a job he eventually lands.

Written on spec by Justin Adler, the project is about one family as told through the separate stories of its different family members. Oscar and Emmy winner Wiest plays the matriarch Joan Short, who adores her family and would do absolutely anything for them — as long she agrees with it. Jones plays Greg Short’s (Hanks) wife Jen, a woman used to being in control who now has a baby and finds for the first time she’s not.

Liam James Cast In ABC Jenna Bans Pilot

Liam James, who played the lead in the 2013 Sundance feature The Way, Way Back, has landed a key role in the untitled ABC/ABC Studios drama from Jenna Bans. It follows the return of a politician’s young son, Adam Warren (James), who was presumed dead after disappearing over a decade earlier. Having been gone for so long, he maintains much of the behavior and mannerisms of an 8-year-old boy, which is unsettling and heartbreaking at the same time. But as the mysterious young man is welcomed back into his community, the neighbor sitting in jail for his murder is released and the cop responsible is forced to re-examine what truly happened so many years ago.

  1. That Game of Silence show aired here in Serbia. Watched just small parts. As far as I know they did some stuff to protect a girl or rhey raped a girl not sure from atm and one of them volunteered for prison.
This Jenna Banns pilot is getting interesting, is on my to maybe watch list.
As I'm not a fan of the 300 sequel this casting news makes me not happy. Not a fan of SS. But I won't let one actor smack the whole show for me. I'll give it a try for sure.

  5. I'm hoping Unveiled isn't a project where Roma Downey is basically trying to recreate TbaA (as I feel might be the case).

Game Of Silence is gaining traction on my radar. The cast is shaping up nicely, and the more I hear about the plot the more I'm (at the very least) intrigued

I'm not so sure Doubt has me interested, but with that cast, I keeping an eye out.

Blindspot which has arguably been the most capturing pilot order for meso far, continues to gather more brownie points.

I think that's the first time Love Is A Four Letter Word has caught my eye.

    Strange Calls could be fun...

I'm still so confused over the "hybrid" title they've given Fantasy Life... hybrid multi & single cam I'm guessing, but how exactly does that work, I'm not sure...

The Life in Pieces cast is shaping up nicely, though it's single cam on CBS so I'm keeping my expectations low low low...

So stoked this Evil Dead thing is happening. I just hope it's good...

Liam James was really good in te Way Way back, so I'm interested to see him more. And this Jenna Bans pilot (it's still not officially titled right?) is sounding somewhat interesting...

YAY for Phillip Winchester! Dunno about Endgame I feel it's one of those which could be great, gritty and interesting OR a real mess...
