Duane Martin & Eric Petersen Cast In CBS Comedy Pilot ‘Joe Time’

Real Husbands Of Hollywood‘s Duane Martin and Eric Petersen (Kirstie) are set as series regulars in Bill Wrubel’s CBS comedy pilot Joe Time, from Warner Bros. TV. Written/executive produced by former Modern Family executive producer Wrubel and directed by James Burrows, Joe Time centers on Joe, a family man who struggles with the fact that everyone around him is pursuing their dreams and enjoying their lives more than he is. Martin will play Theodore, a very famous and accomplished music producer who is a neighbor of Joe’s. Petersen is Scott, Joe’s gay brother who works with him in the family construction business.

Betsy Brandt Joins Pilot ‘Life in Pieces’

Breaking Bad alumna Betsy Brandt is set as a lead opposite Colin Hanks in Life in Pieces, CBS’ single-camera comedy pilot from 20th TV and Aaron Kaplan’s Kapital Entertainment.

Written on spec by Justin Adler, the project is about one family as told through the separate stories of its different family members. Brandt plays the eldest of the three siblings, Heather, a mother of three who is struggling to come to grips with how quickly her children are growing up.

Laverne Cox Cast As Transgender Attorney In CBS Pilot ‘Doubt’

Laverne Cox already made history, becoming the first openly transgender performer to earn an acting Emmy nomination for her breakout role on Netflix’s Orange Is The New Black. She is now looking to break more ground with the first transgender series regular character on broadcast TV played by a transgender actor.

Cox is set to co-star in Doubt, from longtime Grey’s Anatomy executive producers Tony Phelan and Joan Rater, Timberman/Beverly and CBS TV Studios. It centers on a smart, chic, successful defense lawyer at a boutique firm who shockingly gets involved romantically with one of her clients who may or may not be guilty of a brutal crime. Cox will play Cameron Wirth, a fierce and funny, competitive and compassionate transgender Ivy League-educated attorney. The fact that she’s experienced injustice first hand makes her fight all the harder for her clients.

Daniel Henney Cast In ‘Criminal Minds’ Spinoff

Daniel Henney (Wolverine, NBC’s Revolution) has joined the cast of CBS’ Criminal Minds planted spinoff which will air as an episode of the mothership series this season.

The proposed spinoff follows FBI agents helping American citizens who find themselves in trouble abroad, with Gary Sinise playing their boss, Jack Garrett. Henney will play charming family man Matt Simmons, an army brat who grew up abroad and really embraces the opportunity to explore different cultures. But first and foremost, he is the kind of guy you would follow into battle, and his split second profiling skills honed on the battlefield make him a crucial part of the team.

Ray Santiago & Dana DeLorenzo Cast In ‘Ash Vs Evil Dead’ Series On Starz

Ray Santiago (Touch) and Dana DeLorenzo (A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas) have been cast opposite Bruce Campbell in Starz’s 10-episode series Ash Vs Evil Dead, the followup to the cult film franchise. In it, Campbell reprises his role as Ash, the aging lothario and chainsaw-handed monster hunter who has spent the last 30 years avoiding responsibility, maturity and the terrors of the Evil Dead. When a Deadite plague threatens to destroy all of mankind, Ash is finally forced to face his demons – personal and literal.

Santiago will play Pablo Simon Bolivar, an idealistic immigrant who becomes Ash’s loyal sidekick – a Sancho Panza to Ash’s Don Quixote. Pablo believes in Ash’s heroism even if Ash himself doesn’t. DeLorenzo is Kelly Maxwell, a moody wild child trying to outrun her past. Reluctantly dragged into the fight against Evil with Ash and Pablo, Kelly finds a different kind of family with her fellow Deadite slayers.

Bresha Webb Joins NBC Pilot ‘People Are Talking’, Shaun Majumder In TNT’s ‘Breed’

Bresha Webb is set as a lead opposite Tone Bell in NBC’s multi-camera comedy pilot People Are Talking, written by DJ Nash and directed by Pam Fryman. The project, from Universal TV and Will Packer Prods., is about a white and a black couple and examines sex, race and everything else your parents told you never to talk about. Webb and Bell play the black couple, Angie and Russell. Webb’s Angie is practical and good at what she does, which includes handling her stand-up comedian husband.

Shaun Majumder (Detroit 187) has been cast opposite Justin Chatwin in TNT pilot Breed, from writer/novelist John Scott Shepherd, director Scott Winant and producer Nicky Weinstock. The supernatural thriller tells the wild and chilling story of a series of brutal murders in the Pacific Northwest and the mysterious race of creatures who may be committing them. Majumder will play Teddy, Cooper’s (Chatwin) new partner at the Tacoma Police Department. Their relationship takes a sharp turn when Cooper realizes that Teddy is hiding an unnerving secret.

Eric McCormack To Star In Fox Pilot ‘Studio City’

Having just become available for pilots as his drama series Perception ended its run on TNT after three seasons, Eric McCormack was courted for several projects this season, opting for the male lead in Fox’s family dramedy pilot Studio City, written by Krista Vernoff and directed by Sanaa Hamri.

Inspired by Vernoff’s real-life experience growing up as the daughter of a drug dealer to the stars, Studio City is set in present-day Studio City, CA and tells the story of a young singer’s path to stardom, as she comes of age living with her songwriter father (McCormack) — who turns out to be a drug dealer to the stars.

Rob Lowe to Star in Fox Comedy Pilot 'The Grinder'

Rob Lowe is making his return to broadcast television.

After departing NBC's beloved Parks and Recreation, the prolific actor has been tapped to star and executive produce new Fox comedy The Grinder, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

From 20th Century Fox Television, The Grinder stars Lowe as beloved TV lawyer Dean Sanderson (aka The Grinder). When his long-running hit series comes to an end, he finds himself at a crossroads in life and decides to move back to his small hometown thinking he has the experience to take over his family's law firm.

James Franco to Star in Hulu Original Series '11/22/63' from WBTV, Bad Robot, Stephen King and Bridget Carpenter

Oscar®-nominated actor James Franco (127 Hours) has been set to star in the upcoming Hulu Original series 11/22/63, from J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot Productions, acclaimed author Stephen King, executive producer/writer Bridget Carpenter and Warner Bros. Television.

· Based upon the best-selling 2011 novel written by King and published by Scribner, 11/22/63 is a thriller in which high school English teacher Jake Epping travels back in time to prevent the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. But his mission is threatened by Lee Harvey Oswald, his falling in love and the past itself … which doesn’t want to be changed.

· Franco, who is also a producer, will play the lead role of Epping in the nine-hour event series.

· JAMES FRANCO is an actor, director, screenwriter, producer, teacher and author. He began his career on FREAKS AND GEEKS and received a Golden Globe Award for his performance in the biographical film JAMES DEAN.
