Thanks to StephonJS for the heads up.
1. Forbidden New Flashbacks: Right away fans will be transported back to the "forbidden fortress" to learn exactly how our beloved Queens of Darkness came together. (And if you're thinking Rumple might have hand a hand in this sinister sisterhood, then your assumptions are completely correct.) Plus, get ready to see just how persuasive Cruella De Vil can really be.
2. So Many CaptainSwan Kisses: Get ready Emma and Hook lovers because you will be beyond pleased with the amount of PDA packed into Sunday's premiere! Their looks of adoration will give you butterflies, and the opening credits are still rolling when you're treated to your first CaptainSwan kiss with coffee. It's clear that the past six weeks have been filled with many romantic moments.
3. Even Heroes Have Wicked Secrets: Ladies and gentlemen, brace yourselves because the Charmings are holding onto one of the darkest secrets we have ever seen on this series. Of course, we cannot spill exactly what our Charming couple is hiding, but take comfort in the fact that their dark secret means you'll be getting the more Snowing screen-time in these first two episode than we have in all of season four.

"So Many CaptainSwan Kisses"
ReplyDeleteyep, this ladies and gentlemen is why the show lost me at the start of season 4. It's almost as if it's obligatory to force the good girl and the bad boy together when shippers demand that to happen.
Ships, running sh*t to the ground ever since King Kong. At least they had the decency to murder Kong in the end
Can't wait to find out Snowings dark secret
ReplyDeleteYes please to all of it
ReplyDeleteI'm really looking forward to 1. and 3. As for 2....I hate CaptainSwan so much. Must I see their forced ship in every single episode? This is the thing that pushes me away from OUaT nowadays.
ReplyDeleteUggh I've read the other 3 teasers too... Belle/Hook friendship? Really? After everything he's done to her and Rumplestiltskin? That guy tried to kill her, abused her... And I guess he'll get away with that like always. Why are other villians called out for their shit, while Hook can kick everything under the rug? Dating Emma won't make him a hero, nor will erase all the bad things he's done.
ReplyDeleteSkipped 2, but I love the rest! So the oscars promo was teasing the soul hunting demon, and it will be hunting Emma. I'm so looking forward to it all :)
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know if there will be any 2 hour episodes in this half? Or 2 episodes back to back.
All of these teases sound very promising.More emma and hook is always a good thing,at least for me.This is the one ship i cannot get enough!
ReplyDeleteIt's so easy to blame every single problem on ships, despite the fact that it's utter nonsense. If shippers didn't exist, most of social media around these shows would be dull places indeed. Almost every creative thing people make for their favorite shows is based around ships.
ReplyDeleteFanfiction? 99% about ships. Fanart? Still pretty much mostly ships. Twitter? Ships trend like crazy. Tumblr? Almost entirely ships. Fan videos? Almost entirely created by shippers.
Tell you what, here's a crazy idea. Get all of the people who hate ships together and contribute even one third the amount of community involvement in a single day, and then your logic will make some level of sense.
Just in case its not clear, that's never going to happen.
Oh wow seems like I'm the only one on here to look forward to Captain Swan. Yay. So excited for the show to come back and I am very curious what will happen :)
ReplyDeleteCount me too,my friend!
ReplyDeleteI'm going to miss Elsa & Emma bonding, they had great chemistry in 4A.
ReplyDeleteme too. I love the FrozenSwan friendship
ReplyDeleteI have the same problem here. Its like i cant even enjoy the scenes of a friendship because clearly this was going to happen anyhow esp as they are Henry's mother but the OTT shipping here is too much, esp turning their scenes into something its not. Its a shame esp since thats not the story the show is telling or showing
ReplyDeleteI like to see a relationship develop with a couple that is TOGETHER and have growth in that. Emma's relationship and her opening her heart completely will always have to be her in a relationship she wants and feels comfortable in and she is.
ReplyDeleteThis show doesnt force anything but write a couple they are writing and wanted to write and thats what i like and i like Emma/Hook due to that so some oh they look good together - have them together (NO, clearly Emma and Hook were there from the start as in when they met and said so many times in interviews and actors about the pairing) . This isnt some typical teen show that has anyone and everyone together but a good written show.
ReplyDeleteLOL, good one
ReplyDeleteI really hate it when shippers take something and totally twist it. I especially hate it when the writers and cast jump on board with it, and EVERY time they regret it down the line. The storytelling and character development for some characters in the show is such high quality imo though that it keeps me coming back. For me the show has been on a massive upward trajectory since the 3A finale. That's why it's one of my top shows.
ReplyDeleteDont worry there is many. But it does make me laugh how some peeps on her groan about it. When clearly ITS the relationship the show is showing because its Emma's journey and she is centre point of this show as someone said before.
ReplyDeleteWell I think it's debatable. Hook's character has been much better developed, that I can now get on board with the writers choice, but I do think there were options on the table between Graham, August, Jefferson, and Neal. But for whatever reason they choice this path and I'm now happy they did. I don't think it's forced. I think it took them a fair amount of time to get here and the truth is, it looks like it's about to get messed up again...
ReplyDeleteDont think the writers or cast of this show are on board here about this lol. Like Its ok to crack ship, ship it all you want but its too much with how over the top it is imo. But also dont ignore the narrative on the show to suit your own headcanons because if you are then its your own fault, its you being ignorant (if you get what i mean). I agree with you storytelling and character developing is THIS show, its done well... its the whole point of this show to develop character and their arcs and their individuality and relationship with their kid, or parent, and your own romance.
ReplyDeleteI don't think the cast and writers are on board either, I was thinking of other shows when I said that. I absolutely know what you mean, I don't mind shipping but if it gets in the way of me being able to enjoy something, or ignores everything else in the story or just plain changes the story, then I have a problem with it.
ReplyDeleteI'm especially looking forward to more Snow & Charming, I think they are the one ship you just can't go wrong with, unfortunately they haven't really been a focus since season one, so I'm really looking forward to seeing a darker side to them and how everyone else reacts when they find out about it (assuming they do).
Emma's romance was always going to be some build up because its Emma Swan and her journey. Graham was written to be dead (like in the 7th episode, even Jamie the actor confessed this in an interview right after he died on-screen, he knew before the show got on-air, so by now i assume the cast had filmed pretty much this much episodes) , August was clearly not a one, more like sibling and the dude was only interested in having the curse broken because he was turning into wood, Jefferson - no, Neal was just not the one (and basically showed everything of Emma and her past in one episode to the betrayal) (clearly this was established in the first Emma centric of the show, season 2, episode 6 is it Tallahassee - her romantic past v present with a man she instantly connected with and shared several parallels with her parents first meeting. I like that Emma didnt have a love interest in season 1, because it was about her and Henry and getting to break the curse) Season 2 broke the curse, ends up in Enchanted Forest - finds Hook (all the TL couples have met in the EF ;) ) , instant bond, first man to ever read her so well (that it scared her what she was feeling and what he was doing to her in reading her so well and she opens up to him that she was once in love, and he about himself concerning his hand and they talk about love and trust - thats a foreshadow right there).
ReplyDeleteIts been said so many times. It aint happening as that was not the intention.
ReplyDeleteSnowing is one couple that is well classic couple. Seems like we will see more of them this season. :)
Look forward to all. Interesting.
ReplyDeleteI am glad to see Emma happy and having happiness with love. And progressing Emma/Hook
Hook and Belle friendship would be intriguing but these two can talk and go over books and research. Oh seems like we going to see Will and Belle :)
This is the best reply I have ever seen on this matter. Folks can be truly delusional blaming every single thing they don't like/writing inconsistency/ plot hole on ships.
ReplyDeleteI myself am not a shipper, but I always viewed Captain Swan as a completely natural progression.
People give shippers waaaaaay too much credit, as if these writers and showrunners aren't busy actually WRITING and PRODUCING the show. Some people seem to think the aforementioned people do nothing but check fan sites all day and then hammer out the script in an afternoon based on notes from Tumbler.
Yes, some shows have inserted things here or there to appease vocal fan bases (Arrow season 3 episode 1 anyone?), but I would venture to guess that the majority of show runners and writers could give a flying crap what a vocal minority of the fanbase wants or doesn't want. Real writers, the ones who are actively employed and sought after in this medium, write to create the best story they can, the one they envisioned, not the one 13 year olds on Tumbler want to see.
These are some great spoilers looking forward to it minus the Emma and Hook can't stand that pairing never will luckily I watch for the family dynamic
ReplyDeleteI shouldn't have to "contribute" as long as I don't force my fictional couple down the writers throat.
ReplyDeleteIt's easy to blame ships but often the root of the issue. Shippers forcing the writers to take a detour of their vision is often happening. And know what: I'm not willing to force my vision on them like shippers do. I'm not that fixed to have "my" ship happen and in order to achieve that derail an entire show
Delusional? I doubt it.
ReplyDeleteThe second a fanbase starts to worship a couple and forces writers to follow their impression of "right" (aka. the ship) a show is heavily influenced in a negative way.
The example he named with "every piece of fanart and social media" being about ships is the exact thing that is wrong with shipper culture: it's causing a complete drift from the writers original intention.
That's how shows like "The Kardashians" came to life: people being more focused on romantic snoozle-doozle than a scripted story
and just because you ship it I'm not delusional. De-valuing someones opinion is never a good sign in a good conversation, thought of you better than that, cheeri-o
ReplyDeleteI was not devaluing your opinion, or referencing you in any way, no need to be defensive. I agree with you in a sense that shipping tends to take over every aspect of a fan community, to the point where I don't even look at the comments anymore here after an Arrow episode because it's just shippers vs anti-shippers every time.
ReplyDeleteBut what I do think is that people greatly overvalue the impact shipping has on a show, and exaggerate the amount these writers pay attention to them.
Sometimes what may seem like a ship is actually just what the writers had planned all along. I recall several interviews during the early days of the Captain Swan relationship where Adam and Eddie stated that this relationship was planned early on, not just thrown in to cater the, and again I will say it, Vocal Minority that are shippers.
Sorry if I riled you, but my comment wasn't directed towards you in any specific way, just at the fact that I find it funny that some people assume that show are written by the Tumbler 13 year old army corps, and not by the actual writers of the show who may have envisioned certain pairing long before the shipper community got a hold of them.
And as a note to my below comment, I am actually with you on shipping. I find it cloying and pathetic and I do hate when writers (here's looking at you Arrow writers) cater to it. I don't ship Captain Swan. In fact I could care less. But for what it is, it always seemed like a natural progression to me. Good girl with Bad guy? That is about how it happens in real life unfortunately.
ReplyDeleteWriting a TV series isn't that straight forward. It's an organic process that relies on multiple things, and although with Graham, I believe it was intentional (again to parallel Regina), the other characters all had potential to be more, but in some of those cases, actors became unavailable due to needing/already committing to other work. With Neal in particular--I think they had an opportunity to do a 'an out of traditional order relationship' = true love and can fix the family after the fact kind of thing, but whether it was the fandom alone or a combination of MRJ's decision to not go on (interviews post series may shed more light on this), and really have his role be another catalyst for Rumple, they made their choice to put her with the Regina-esque male character and built him up, juxtaposed him in all the right ways and was able to sell him to me...
ReplyDeleteOh for crying out loud. You're delusional. Yeah, shippers have SO MUCH POWER. That's why Olicity is doing SO WELL right now. I mean, they're barely speaking to each other but whatever.
ReplyDeleteAnd why it took YEARS just to get Captain Swan to kiss. Because we were MAKING them do it. Oh yeah, and who can forget Steroline. It only took us half a decade to force the writers to make them kiss and right now Caroline is an emotionless vampire who is likely going to be used as a plot device to torture Stefan, but yeah we're forcing them.
Can you even comprehend how ridiculous that sounds?
what in the hell are David and Mary Margaret hiding? whoa and the demon is definitely going after Emma
ReplyDeleteI don't care of CaptainSwan either... that couple doesn't work for me I think that Emma is not so in love like Hook is... I prefer Emma and Neal <3 too bad that he is gone :'(
ReplyDeleteCaptain Swan, Hook/Belle friendship. Adultery Belle... keep them coming. I'll just take popcorn and laugh when the ratings will inevitably be even lower.
ReplyDeleteSo Rumple is totally clear?
ReplyDelete#2 almost makes me want to give up. I guess I'll just fast forward all their interaction. :/ But hey, a Snowing mega secret? I'm in! Not so sure about Belle and Hook though.
ReplyDeleteIt's not the ship that makes me cringe in those scenes but the shippers who will read to much in to little. We just have to ignore them and see Regina and Emma bonding as what it is, a friendship between two women who share a child. ;)
ReplyDeleteas much as i like regina i rather get more emma/snow relationship then regina/emma. when was the last time we had a good emma/snow face to face moment. it seems snow has a better relationship with regina then her own daughter.
ReplyDeleteYou're not the only one Gwen. Love Captain Swan. Their my OTP :)
ReplyDeleteLol YEARS..... they met in 2x06 and kissed in 3x05 so no not even ONE year and in the show timeline it was like a month.....
ReplyDeleteA kiss that wasn't even supposed to happen because without the fans, Hook was supposed to be killed off long before that.
ReplyDeleteHook was wanted since season 1. Was made main regular even before his first episode aired. It was always going to be Emma/Hook
ReplyDeleteEmma and Hook were planned from the moment they met, and wanted Hook since season 1. Emma and Hook met in Hook's 2nd episode. 3rd episode was where they laid the groundwork - two ppl going off on their own up on a beanstalk to spend time alone and have their own adventure thats how you write a couple.
ReplyDeleteI worry what Snow and Charming's secret is which it seems is going to hurt Emma very much :(
ReplyDeleteI do hope we finally see Snow and Emma get somewhere and their mother-daughter relationship focus happening.
When the world and others who let her down (and it seems her parents will be the ones this time) she has one person in her life that he is there, holding her and by her side that's her Killian. As Eddy or Adam said they will grow as a couple face the world and whatever comes their way together - as a couple.
I just hope the show will go on. I need it to. To stop watching because of ships to me is nonsense. The show is still great I'll die without s5.
ReplyDeleteAlthough I won't be watching anymore, it certainly is interesting to see how much of a marmite Captain Swan is. Just as many people love it, as much as some people don't like it. That's a tricky thing to deal with, especially for the main character's love interest - and with rapidly falling ratings. The writers really need to sort out that relationship if they don't want a lot of viewers growing tired of it or disliking it further (tho i won't discredit, and will say that there are quite a few cs shippers).
ReplyDeleteREMEMBER, about
ReplyDeletehttp://twitter.com/AdamHorowitzLA/status/561992509316800512
That's why we had hiatus after s04e11, not after s04e12
No it wasn't. Being made a regular doesn't actually mean what it used to. These days, they mix up recurring and regular a lot. A character can be made a regular, only appear in several episodes, and then get killed off.
ReplyDeleteI think the problem is they introduced three potential love interests for Emma before Hook--Graham, August, and Neal--and there are people who jumped on board all those ships who are now unhappy. Add those who want Emma in a romantic relationship with Regina (which seems totally implausible to me, based on the story so far), and there are always going to be some number of fans unhappy with Captain Swan. On the other hand, there are surely a lot of fans who have followed the Captain Swan story unfold since the beginning of s2 who would be ticked off if the show broke them up now that they are finally together. I would venture to say that ending Captain Swan would cause the show to lose many more fans than keeping them together, but who can know for sure?
ReplyDeleteok then we both agree that CS was pure fanservice :p
ReplyDeleteSure, as long as you completely ignore the people who are just fans of Hook then yeah that makes sense/
ReplyDeleteIf it was that obvious, then I don't think fans would have debated about it until he finally died. And actually Neal's plot was more about moving Rumple's story ahead, than it was Emma's. He unfortunately became something that was just in they way. Personally I still think they could of wrote Neal a more meaningful ending, especially because I feel like we're missing some things were his mother's relationship with Hook is concerned...
ReplyDeleteIt really doesn't matter. It turned out for the best so far anyways...
I think some few ppl are just vocal about CS thats it. Like they just have to say something..
ReplyDeleteI dont like Rumbelle, but i dont whine about it every article or let it be known because i know that is one of the main couple of the show and development. So thats how some ppl are.
August wasnt one.
ReplyDeleteThere was only two - Neal and Hook. But the groundwork was always Hook, said many times and even shown in the episodes esp the beanstalk episode. And throughout season 3.
Not their fault if ppl like to crackshipping many couples lol. When the show was only developing one which was Emma/Hook.
Its pretty much also won the shippable couple on tumblr which they got to #3 or #5 and were the only CANON couple in the list in the top 5. (which a huge site of where shippper and ppl love their ships post)
So apparently Will is probably drunk in some street corner again because nobody seems to give two shits about him.
ReplyDelete
