New Girl - Review - "Spiderhunt"
Last night, New Girl focused on the gangs antics in the loft. Schmidt invited Fawn over for a midnight fondu session with Nick at the helm of creating "The Sauce." "And I was like, Fondu and then Fawn done." Meanwhile, Winnie the Bish tried to convince Cece to tell Schmidt how she felt, even admitting for the second time that she likes Schmidt. Things don't end up going to plan, as Schmidt freaks out over seeing a spider in the loft. The gang decides to go on a spider hunt with Schmidt, understanding that he has an irrational fear of spiders for a grown twenty/thirty-something adult all due to an incident involving an apple pie circa the American Pie craze of the late 90's, early 00's.
Coach still hasn't be able to write May an email expressing how he feels about her or why they should date. I do hope it works out for them because if Coach has to go out, I think he should go out in classic Coach fashion, aka a little bro-ey, while being sincere and heartfelt about the girl he likes. Now to Cece, she agrees to go to the loft, but ironically, Winston is the one that caves and slips that Cece likes someone to Jess. "Oh dear God, it's left the web to feed." The gang split up into teams to hunt down the spider with Schmidt coaching Coach on how to email May. Jess coaxes the answer out of Winston, but luckily he was able to cover for Cece, telling her that Cece is interested in Nick. This leads Jess to question her why Cece wouldn't tell her it was Nick when they used to be a couple. Things get confusing when Jess confronts Nick about their relationship while Nick thinks Jess is trying to convince him to buy a popcorn machine for the bar for Cece.
"Don't make it a feminist thing." Honestly, the banter between Nick and Jess was hilarious because they didn't know what each other were truly talking about. It's been done before, but it was just a funny situation. "I don't want you sneaking around and cleaning it yourself." Schmidt ends up seeing the spider on the kitchen counter, smacking it with a ladle, but crushing Coach's computer keys, sending 15 drafts of his email to May. "Can you imagine how powerful that spider would have become had he entered my sauce?" Jess and Cece talk it out and she is happy for Cece to be back into Schmidt, while the gang decides how to tell Schmidt the spider is on his face. It does not go well.
Fawn arrives and quickly smacks Schmidt to get the spider off his face. In the end, "The Sauce" ends up tasting like the inside of a bear, which is a compliment and May extends the offer of a date, seeing how much effort he put into 15 different emails. Jess tries to tell Cece that she has to talk to Schmidt, but at the same time, I think she realized that it is Cece's decision and she must make that choice. "In the spider hunt of life, I'm glad we're a team of six." We're in the home stretch now. True American has to be on it's way!
