  1. I like pretty much anything Annabeth does but I don't ship her with George so I hope this is just an awkward phase they go through and then come out the other side as friends.

  2. At least they also seem to find it as awkward as we do...

  3. Ugh! What are the writers doing? No one wants AB/George. Why is George still on the show? He's been useless ever since Zoe gave up on him as a potential love interest. He needs to get back together with Tansy and move out of that houseboat. It only makes him look dumber than he is.

  4. Hm, I'm not sure...to be honest, I already like AB and George a lot better than Lemon and Lavon right now....I get where people come from when they say that this is random coupling at its best, but I think that both AB and George have come a long way and deserve to be happy - finally - and if they find it in each other, why not? I'd definitely enjoy a storyline like this more than additional Lavon/Lemon drama.

  5. This show really needs to be sexier, it's like watching a kids tv show.

  6. That would be nice, but it seems highly unlikely... with 5 more episodes to go, and a pretty clear Lemon/Lavon endgame (ugh!) in the cards they need to wrap up AB and George's arcs in a pretty little bow also. And coupling them up seems to be the route TPTB have decided to go with...

  7. I will absolutely admit that the AB/George thing was handled better than I was expecting it to be handled. And yes I will even concede the point that they ARE better than Lemon/Lavon (though for me that's a very low bar so not that hard to be "better").

BUT there are just so many hurdles to look over:
    - I don't think it's organic how they're getting together (it's so evident it's a narrative ploy to clear the way for Lavon/Lemon)
    - I know AB deserves better than to keep getting Lemon's regects (at least she'd had a crush on Lavon for quite a while before they got together)
    - I'm not sure how good this pairing is for George either (AB is SO NOT Lemon and what I'm about to say doesn't mean to imply that AT ALL, but in some ways, mostly with respect to what I feel Anabeth can offer to George in being in a relationship with him is to be a less overbearing version of what he's used to getting from Lemon, which isn't good for him and not fair to AB)
    and lastly
    - AB and Lavon just make more sense (I don't need to suspend belief about those two being together the way I do with George/AB).

  8. I disagree. I think they are well matched and I have been hoping for them for a while now. She is a great character, I'd like to see her happy. :)

  9. I completely agree. AB & George are very well suited IMO. I'm looking forward to them as a couple. :)

  10. I agree AB & G are a narrative ploy but TBH I like it. It makes sense to me. They both share many of the same qualities and morals. They have a history and a friendship that could really make it work. The fact that she is completely different from Lemon is to her favour IMO, because George already decided (twice) that Lemon isn't what he wants or needs. I think AB is perfect for him. George’s life has been kinda messy lately, which he doesn’t seem to do well with (although I think he is adjusting LOL) and AB is a mature, smart, professional, attractive woman who also has a charming quirkiness to her that will (I think) keep George slightly on his toes. And really, George is all of that for AB too.

  11. You make good points and really I get it... As I said I was quite impressed that it was handled better than I was expecting it would.

It's getting explored from a perspective where the objective attributes of this situation are what's being highlighted.

And it's worked because when I take a step back and look at it from an objective POV I see that and there are moments where really I wish I could be on board too... but I just can't. Those hurdles man... it's too much for me to looks past.

I am very happy to hear that it's not the case with everyone though!

  12. Well, maybe if the writers do a good job and the actors have chemistry it will win you over? :)

  13. No. It can't. As I've mentioned it's sloppy storytelling from a narrative perspective and the things that bother me about this are way too prominent.

  14. I wonder how old Lemon's mom was when she had her? 12? I have always liked Meredith Monroe, but it's a bit of a stretch here to have her playing Lemon's mother. Anyway I do think it's going to do a lot to develop her character as her mom and their dynamic is explored more, and I think that's a good thing...I just need to suspend my disbelief on this one.

I also thought it was really cool that they had Kris Orlowski performing at The Rammer Jammer in this episode, and extra happy with the songs they chose to use ("Believer" and "Fighting the War").
