Hoped Dixie would go up a tenth. Let's see how they'll they surprise us this week!
ReplyDeleteH50 adjusted up.Nice!
ReplyDeleteBye bye Helix :'( I don't is that good for 12Monkeys but this might happen on Syfy: Haven ends after 2nd Part of Season 5, Helix Canceled after or during S2 (ends with a cliffhanger probably ): ), Lost Girl ends after Fifth and final season (confirmed), Continuum ends after a 4th and final season (confirmed), 12 monkeys renewed, Z Nation Airs 2nd season, gets renewed for a 3rd one, Defiance canceled after S3 or renewed for a 4th final season
ReplyDelete12 Monkeys is brilliant, it deserves higher ratings, not surprised by its ratings though since it's on SyFy. I've found Helix fairly boring this season but I'd still like to see it renewed.
ReplyDeleteCristela??
ReplyDeleteAfter seeing the ratings over the past weeks I'm so glad the cast and crew treated this season of HoD as the last one.
ReplyDeleteAt least we'll get good closure!
(I mean they're holding steady week to week, and they haven't shed that many viewers from last season, but they're no longer hitting the CW minimum quota... It's a stil a utility player show, but one that can only live out ths season, that's for sure.)
Poor Helix, it has a hit a series low three consecutive weeks.
ReplyDeleteThis is the first week in which Hart of Dixie as a rating that should be considered a bad one.
ReplyDeleteIt was adjusted down
ReplyDeleteSuper happy about H50 and Grimm.
ReplyDeleteGranted it's the first week where it was significantly lower than what it usually is.
ReplyDeleteBut the ratings have never been particularly strong. They've been steady (and that has undoubtedly been the show's saving grace for so long) but if they can fluctuate this low, unfortunately I don't think a renewal is in the cards.
I think 0.4 and 0.5 on Friday is relatively strong. I do agree with you though that if 0.3s are to be in the mix frequently it's probably curtains for Dixie, but if this is the anomaly and no the norm (unlikely, I admit), it would have a decent shot in my opinion.
ReplyDeleteI will not disagree that it's a steady show. I even referred to it as such. It has it's audience that will follow it anywhere... even in the graveyard on Friday. And yes for the CW those ratings? On a Friday? Not a small deal at all.
ReplyDeleteAs I said in my fist post, I've always considered HoD to be that kind of a utility player. "Put it anywhere on the schedule and those loyal 1 million viewers will find it" kind of a show. And as I said, I think The CW heads perceive the show the exact same way.
However now they also have JtV, which on top of everything else is also a critics darling AND an award winning show... Which makes HoD currently more dispensable, and that's why I think its chances are even lower than if this was just a ratings & mathematics issue...
And 12 Monkeys is on a Friday on top of that.
ReplyDeletei just got hooked up by Banshee, are those numbers "normal" for the channel?
ReplyDeleteYep, pretty much.
ReplyDeleteFYI: You can see all ratings for all episodes that we have data for in the ratings database here.

Yay H50 just gets higher every week :D who cares what the cancelation bear says S6 will be picked up really soon. Even Peter has hinted it on Twitter the past couple of days that S5 isn't likely to be the last :D
ReplyDeleteOK, so I guess there's still hope of a new season then, THANK YOU!!
ReplyDeleteI have thought for a while that JtV might cost HOD any chance at a renewal. That win made it pretty much it impossible for them to cancel JtV. It's one thing for CBS, NBC, or ABC to cancel a lower rated show that critics like but doesn't bring the numbers, even FOX can maybe get away with it but the CW has never had a show win anything so as soon as she won that award I knew there was no chance of them canceling it.
ReplyDeleteI think the CW president knows that he has to be careful with his programming. They are getting really close to being something like the Syfy network with all the superhero, vampire, zombi, super natural shows. I'm not saying there is anything wrong with those shows but a major, big 5 network needs to be diverse in their programming and I think the CW is at the point where they need to be careful about getting to a point where they don't have any "regular" shows, things like HOD and JtV, that don't involve superheros or post apocalyptic world, or the 16th century.
I think the only chance HOD has of being renewed at this point is if the CW decides to do shortened seasons for a bunch of the lower rated shows. They could do say 12/13 episode seasons of Reign, HOD, The 100, maybe another 1 or 2 shows. It would give them more original programming (ie, not as many repeats during the season) and still leave room for the shows that do well for them as well as some new shows. That or make it a summer show since I've heard the CW wants to get more into original programming in the summer like the other networks are doing these days. I love HOD so I will watch it no matter when it's on but I know it's probably going to take a minor miracle to get another season.
Oh, Banshee is doing jus fine. 0.3/600k viewers is great for a very small cable network like Cinnemax
ReplyDeleteGood!! ;)
