Cary Fukunaga not winning for True Detective's Who Goes There is shocking, that 6 minute tracking shot was phenomenal.
ReplyDeleteNice to see James Burrows get some well deserved lifetime achievement love!
ReplyDeleteHe's directed and produced some of the best sitcoms ever on TV!
If I were shopping a new sitcom I would want him to direct my pilot!
Oh I know he isn't the only one involved in that incredible scene but his work on the show as a whole really deserves some love. But True Detective hasn't really worked with the awards people, McConaughey never picked up as many awards for it as people expected either. Its a shame.
ReplyDeleteI agree! True Detective deserves all the awards!
ReplyDeleteBut let us also give credit where credit is due. And a perfect undisturbed tracking shot? That's a technical accomplishment. I'd give the DP more credit for that...
