The lighting/cinematography in this series reminds me of Arrow(and The Flash too), which is a good thing because that(and the choreography) are the best things about Arrow. Very dark colors during the night(hues of dark greens, dark orange and red, black) and very bright colors during the day(a lot of white, a focus on lights in a room). But something tells me Daredevil's choreography will be even faster and a lot more grittier which will be perfect for a character like Daredevil.
I can't wait to see Deborah Ann Woll as Karen, she's going to be awesome in this role. And Matt is using the batons! So cool. I'am already terrified of Kingpin.
It's not just the production stills. The trailer for Daredevil makes me think of Arrow. Especially that frame of DD walking down that dark hallway with a very dark green hue in the background.
The trailer certainly seems like TV-MA, and most Netflix adult shows are MA...so don't hold your breath. (It could be TV-14 due to being Marvel but I think the story and material requires an MA rating, and I think that's more likely.)
Frankly, I would be a bit disappointed if it's anything less than TV-MA. Given the dark and gritty nature of the promos, I hope the show doesn't hold back.
Its rated 15 in the UK, not sure how that translates in the US but its definitely not a family series, none of the Netflix MCU series are, its one of the reasons they went with Netflix to explore a darker side.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

ReplyDeleteSo looking forward to this.
the lighting in production stills is usually pretty different from the final product. Wait and see
ReplyDeleteThe teasers have been pretty dark too. Darker than Arrow IMO.

ReplyDeleteAfter seeing that motion poster, I'm already sold on Charlie Cox as Matt. I just love the little smirk on his face. April can't come soon enough.
ReplyDeleteIt's rated TV-MA. http://www.netflix.com/WiMovie/80018294
