It was yet another rapid sell-out Saturday morning for coveted Comic-Con badges, but this year it happened in record time -- in just one hour.
That's 30 minutes faster than last year's sellout for the four-day pop culture extravaganza, which this year will be coming to the San Diego Convention Center July 9 - 12. The always sold-out event draws some 130,000 attendees from around the world, including top Hollywood film and TV producers and major celebrities.

I desperately want to go someday soon. It seems like so much fun.
ReplyDeleteDAMMIT
ReplyDeleteAnd its probably gonna be epic this year with 7 Marvel/DC movies coming next year
ReplyDeleteomg I thought I would have more time to buy, I didn't even have time to research buy dates...
ReplyDeletebut maybe it might of been to much, as this year I would have to take too many days off. with Anime Expo 3 days for me, then Japan 2 weeks.
Next Year for sure tho!
Who ever goes please take lots of pictures!
ReplyDeleteThey should really find a way to expand the attendess that can go to these things considering how big of an event it is. Even NYCC has a bigger number of people who can buy tickets I believe.
ReplyDeleteSome shows usually start shooting mid July. If the Con is from 9-12, does that mean we won't get to see their promos?
ReplyDeleteWhy is it so early this year?
ReplyDeleteooh this is true. For example Arrow doesn't start shooting until the middle of January. I guess it won't get a comic-con promo this year.
ReplyDeleteI was mainly thinking of Arrow and The Flash.
ReplyDeleteHoly shit! In an hour??? (Dean's voice) Son of a bitch!!! I'm never gonna go to SDCC. Sigh. = (
ReplyDeleteWould the cast be even have gotten the scripts by then? What could they really talk about?
ReplyDeleteMaybe they will shoot the premiere early and take a break.
ReplyDeleteYes!!! This is exactly why i wanted to go! F**K!! This year was going to be cray epic at CC.
ReplyDeleteYou have to be able to deal with massive crowds. (Something I wasn't even very good at in my 20s.) I went the year Lost premiered. Because I love comics as well I attended the panels held before the weekend. The difference between walking the floor on Thursday and Friday and walking it on Saturday was remarkable. It was just too too too crowded. I couldn't move. Just tossing it out there. :-)
ReplyDeleteit possible if both The Flash/Arrow season finale ends in a cliffhanger and they might shoot a few scene after ahead of time to shoot what happen and all that. It won't be the first show to shoot episode 1 of season because they have all the set build so it not require to rebuild later on
ReplyDeletewhy don't you go too a SPN CON so much better and fun I never go too SDCC but the SPN CON was close too it.
ReplyDeleteI'm completely happy just going to my little MonsterMania cons and Chiller Theatres in NJ.
ReplyDeleteB/c i want to go to SDCC. For everything.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure DC will be bringing the goods to this Comic-Con.
ReplyDeleteI imagine all those people like in the episode of TBBt when they where trying to get tickets. It will be so cool to go one day. But damn that's some fast sells.
ReplyDeleteI feel so envious of the person who got the Badge!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to go but I do agree it's very crowded from all the footage and experiences I have heard especially the weekends. It's like a Costco store on the weekend except the shoppers are all dressed up in costumes and of course a a big side dash of celebrity appearances. If you can handle the crowds and being literally elbow to elbow or closer with people then it can be fun but I can see how for some people, even myself a bit, it can be overwhelming and hard to relax in such crowds.
ReplyDeleteArrow starts shooting at the beginning of July...
ReplyDeleteComic Con seems very early this year wonder why that is?
ReplyDeleteCrazy. I even pre-registered for their stupid email alerts, but you have to register for every badge with a separate email! And then get a register code within a certain 1 hour period! Lol, it's way too much trouble, and a bit unfair honestly.
ReplyDeleteOK they say you have to buy ticket's for the panels they must cost a pretty penny for just one panel and with the SPN Con you pay one time and you get everything I really like that.
ReplyDeleteSDCC is worth it. I know how it works. As a long time wish of mine, (since it started) i'd go out of my way to spend my money for SDCC. Anything else, for me, would be settling. Any other con would be settling. SDCC first, (as my first con ever) then i'd go to the others eventually. The only one i'd probably bend my rule for is NYCC b/c i live here. But i still haven't gone, b/c i don't want to. lol i want SDCC, that's it.
ReplyDeleteI'm not surprised...
ReplyDeleteThere should be another sale closer to July of returned tickets for those who purchased back in Sept or this last Saturday who realize that they will not be able to go or their credit cards were denied or whatever--it's a very limited amount of tickets, but that's how I snagged my first one (only a Thurs/Sun, but STILL!) after trying unsuccessfully before.
ReplyDeleteIts everybody dream Con so live your Dream pal. But for someone like me with a low paying job do not like too fly Anywere the little Con's are great.
ReplyDeleteHahahaha I hear ya.
