In the last episode, Castle left us hanging with a major cliffhanger; Beckett had been abducted by an accomplice of Jerry Tyson and Kelly Niemen. As they leave the precinct when our detectives failed to prove that Tyson is in fact Tyson and not Boudreau, our team realizes that something has happened to Beckett.
The second part of this year's two-parter picks up minutes after the events of the previous episode. Castle, Ryan and Espo arrive where Beckett was supposed to meet Amy Barrett. They try to find out if anyone saw Beckett or what happened to her. Just then Castle notices a cryptic messages left for him by 3XK.
In this episode, the main focus is on Castle as Beckett isn't even seen until the second half of the episode. During this hour, you will see a very different Castle as he tries to find Beckett - a very dark side, that we rarely get to see. As Castle is sure that Boudreau is actually Tyson, he confronts him even after Gates tells him not to do so as it will weaken their case. Nathan Fillion does remarkable acting which makes this a truly outstanding episode.
Meanwhile, Beckett, who is bound by her captives, tries to free herself before it's too late.
How does the episode conclude. Will Beckett return safe and sound? Will it bring an end to 3XK or does he manage to escape the clutches of our team again? You'll have to find that out for yourself but I can say that the ending is very satisfying.

- Apart from taking revenge from Castle, 3XK and Niemen have another use of Beckett.
- Something happens during the episode which makes Castle worry about Alexis and Martha's safety.
- Something happens between Gates and Castle which has never EVER happened before.

Castle going to the dark side....he probably will break multiple law to take 3XK! Gates should forget building a case. I don't see 3XK alive after this

ReplyDeleteThis tease makes me anxious to see this even more, I've missed the dark side of Castle ever since Alexis kidnapping, don't mess with Castles loved ones, and this time it's Kate, Richard doesn't care about going by the book, and Nieman and Tyson be damned Castle is coming for you, hopefully with the help of Hunt'!!!

ReplyDeleteCan't wait. Wishing away my weekend again. Haven't done that in a very long time. I don't want to see Hunt back - I think Castle can handle this one on his own. Whatever he was doing while he was missing over the summer sure wasn't boyscout work. That is buried in him somewhere and I would love see it come out once in a while. Also, I would be excited to see Pi as the returning player. J/K but I always thought he was secretly evil - heh.

ReplyDeleteHopefully after six years we get to see the "master of the macabre". We've seen small flashes in the past, maybe now we'll see the unsheathed master at his worst and/or best.

ReplyDeleteI can think of three options. Least likely, Castle goes back to his PI business. Secondly, Castle proves his worth to the NYPD by continuing his excellent crime solving skills while disproving the idea that he can be corrupted by outside influences (i.e. the mob). Last, Castle completes his community service and resumes his writing while Kate decides to pursue a less dangerous career than being a detective. It just feels like the show is starting to wind things down. Especially with the recent mention Kate made to Rick about how she was thinking about the timing of having a baby and how that would work with her career. A 1,000 hours can be stretched to whatever length the show needs until it's time for a series finale.
