Black Sails - XII - Advance Preview
14 Feb 2015
Black Sails Reviews RFBlack Sails continues this upcoming Saturday with the fourth episode of the second season. This episode begins with a small introduction to Abigail Ash, the girl who was taken prisoner by Low, and now in the custody of Vane. He wants to proceed with Low's plan to let the girl go free for a ransom from her father Lord Ash. During the episode you will see how Lord Ash's name is rather familiar to a character that met him during their time spent in London.
This episode Flint continues to plot to get rid of Vane from the fort, and sends Vane a warning. Vane sends Eleanor to reply, who this episode still continues to play the middle man; she still continues to elude the task of choosing a side. She wants to accomplish peace in Nassau, and tries to persuade both captains to listen to reason informing them a battle would accomplish nothing except leaving Nassau vulnerable in the future. Eleanor even turns to unlikely person for help in the matter; this person though doesn't take too kindly to what she has to say.
Flint does take into account what Eleanor has said, but the final decision whether to attack the fort rests in his hands, and with many people offering him council during the episode, venturing their opinions he makes a decision, but whether it's the right one, only time will tell.
Back in the past Flint is worrying about his recent indiscretion with Miranda Barlow, and worries Hamilton will find out. Hamilton though has more troubling matters on his mind. His father is coming to town to listen to their plan to restore Nassau to what is once was, but things take an interesting turn when Hamilton proposes something to Flint that leaves him with a tough choice to make.
Elsewhere, Billy Bones makes another appearance, but where he ends up this time is rather surprising, and he gets help from someone who may not be helping him for the right reasons. You will also see the return of Richard Guthrie who comes to offer his services to Eleanor during this troubled time; he wants to make peace with her, and help her achieve his previous goal of taking everything he wanted, in Eleanor's case the entire Island of Nassau.
Jack and Max this episode both feel on edge after their night together with Anne, neither of them feel comfortable with what they did, but they both want to please Anne. The bigger question is who does Anne love? Max this episode continues to drive a wedge between Anne and Jack, claiming to Jack if Anne were to choose she knows who she would pick, but Jack has other ideas. Max though continues to help Jack in achieving his goal of becoming a Captain, and eventually ends up helping him in a way he didn't expect.
A lot more happens, but that's all I'm going to give you as I don't watch to spoil anything, but below are a few dialogue teasers for you all!
"Are you suggesting the threat we pose to Captain Vane is an empty one"
"Accuse me, challenge me, fight me or shut the fuck up about it"
"Don't you care enough about him to stop him?"
"You must care for her a great deal, not once in the night did you look in my direction"
"I find his argument to be persuasive, his intentions good and true, but I find yours to be wanting Sir"
"You’re so close to having everything you wanted, everything I wanted, I came to help you get it"
As always, thank you for reading! You can catch "XII" this Saturday 9pm on Starz.
Thanks. I read it through . Looking forward to next week's episode. Here are some of my guesses.
ReplyDeleteFinch will ultimately decide not to target the fort. I am predicting some kind of deal with Vane. Maybe Vane joins Flint as his escort ( he needs two ships and two crews to take that gold) and they let Hornigold have the fort back.
Billy Bones will get help from Silver.
Eleanor will once again go to Mrs. Barlow in the hopes that she may convince Flint not to attack the fort.
You are very good at predicting things, obviously without saying two out of three are correct!
ReplyDeleteOne of the few shows I actually look forward to seeing every week
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear this show is one of them! It's a really great show.
ReplyDeleteAre you mixing some things uo here? I see you talking about Finch. From what I know there is only one Finch. I'm nit 100 % familiar with Black Sail but from what I know there is no Finch.
ReplyDeleteHeHe!! I realized my mistake only when you have now pointed it out. In my defense, I must have been watching Person of Interest or commenting in a POI thread at that time.
