Banshee - Tribal - Advance Preview + Dialogue Teasers

NEW VIDEO ADDED - FRIDAY FEB. 6

Once again we pick this episode up immediately where the last one left off, with Chayton and the Redbones opening fire on the Cadi. The death of his brother at the hands of Billy Raven, then the further insult caused by Proctor last week, have made this a do or die mission as far as he is concerned. Hood, however, is a man who knows how to survive and responds quickly by denying them entrance to the building. So essentially we have a siege. One which will test allegiances amongst strangers thrown together by chance and force uneasy alliances between rivals as they battle to overcome the army gathered outside.

Season three has been rather special so far, the character growth, stunts and plots have made it the most compelling one to watch for me. Tribal is no exception, I have a feeling that many fans will be rating this episode on par with A Fixer of Sorts or The Truth About Unicorns. It drives character development forward in a way that only a life or death situation is capable of, especially for some of the lesser known inhabitants of Banshee. For example, Alison Medding is extremely apprehensive about Kurt Bunker once she sees his tattoos after he is wounded and removes his shirt. We learn a great deal about them both not only from what they say, but in their actions too as the tension mounts during the barricade.

The two men that Chayton is after have very different reactions to the predicament they find themselves in. Raven already feels a tremendous sense of remorse over the death of Tommy, so the fact that his colleagues and innocent civilians are caught up in Chayton’s revenge horrifies him. Proctor, on the other hand, unsurprisingly has less of a guilty conscience about his role. Other matters take precedence, such as being locked up in a cell and defenceless - not a situation he’s used to, or comfortable, being in. Then there is Leah, his dying mother, to whom he is desperate to get back home to before it is too late to say his goodbyes.

Tribal airs Friday February 6 at 10:00 ET/PT on Cinemax, below are some teasers to see you through until then. If you want to have a guess at who said what leave a comment below and I will fill in any correct ones on Friday. Don’t forget to come back and vote in our poll after the episode and let us know what you thought.

“Leave this house, find your own way” Leah to Rebecca

“I don’t give a fuck what Chayton wants, he’s not getting it” Hood

“What fills a man with so much hate that he has to permanently paint it all over his body” Alison to Bunker

“I’d rather fight for my life out there than wait in the dark to die like the rest of you” Proctor

“You know what it will take, blood for blood” Chayton to Raven

“We gonna have a problem?” “Nope. Not tonight” Hood, then Proctor

“Fuck off Alison!” Jackson

“I’m not going anywhere with that guy” Alison, about Bunker

“Being good at killing people does not make you right for this job” No-one got this but I'm feeling generous, so: Brock to Hood

“I hope you don’t mind Sheriff, I took some initiative. I figured there’s no time to waste” Bunker

I like that Alison is getting a little more to do. I love the character, and I hope to see more of her in the future.

  4. Thanks one more time, I didn't wanted to read it in any case of non-spoilers hints, but did it, and I love that you keep it totally away:) From what I read and that new banner/poster I'm pretty sure Billy is goner and I have bad feelings about Siobhan too.

  5. Thanks. :)

I have to say that these episode specific posters that are being released are awesome and a very cool idea. So, based on the poster above, we can be pretty sure that Raven will die, right? I am more interested in Hood's utterly devastated reaction in the promo - either he got hit in the balls or someone he cares about died.

  7. You're welcome :) There's about 9/10 body bags lined up outside the Cadi at the end of the episode if I remember rightly, plus a few badly wounded people being treated by medics, before they'll obviously be taken away to the hospitals.

You have two correct, nice one!

  8. Kurt Bunker is someone I've been waiting to get know more of too. There isn't a huge amount of time spent with him, but I do feel is a great way to get to know him, action speak louder than words, and all that.

The posters have been cool haven't they. I feel they capture one moment in the episodes well, without giving everything away still.

  9. Well, quite a lot of people die, I can say that, but if I say more than I think I'll be in trouble, lol. The posters are very cool, I hope they do them for the rest of the season.

  10. Cheers, I try to stick to just expanding what we see in the promos and what's in the Press Release, this week is a lil shorter as I've been pushed for time anyway, lol.

Seven right this week, that's your best I think?

  14. I always wanted Siobhan to survive, because I thought it would be more interesting to the story. But I guess that that depends on how Hood would react to her death. And on who kills her. Hood is gonna want revenge.
    BUT....still hoping she makes it.

  16. I like Bunker too, the actor is kinda cute ;) I think he's going to be an interesting character for sure!
The inner geek in me would like to know how many rounds are fired in this episode, it's gonna be a stupidly high amount. They're not kidding when they say it's like a finale but in the middle of the show, lol.

  17. There's a BTS clip that says they used at least 25000 squibs

  18. Nine correct, great team work :)

The correct answers will be going up in around 3 hours or so.

  19. Cheers, I've not had a chance to keep up to date on all the clips and info this week. I can well believe it's at least that many, along with a few explosions too. It makes you wonder what on earth the actual finale is going to be like!

  20. One of the things Banshee does best is mess with television cliches. I.e., have a season finale mid-season vs. at the end (tho' I'd argue that every ep so far has had an epic season finale-ish moment). Or pull a "The Truth About Unicorns" at *any* time. It most reminds me of what Joss Whedon used to do at the best of times on Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Firefly. The squibs a-flyin' in a few short hours is gonna be insane!

  21. Loved Hoon Lee's comment about the amount. "...sometimes more is more." Crazy show.

  22. Thanks. The one we missed was kind of hard. :)

  23. Yeah I think so. I guess there's things starting to play on Brock's mind though Even though he shot Hondo first, I don't think he's ever been entirely comfortable with the whole thing afterwards.

  24. I just won one of the posters for the episode from Cinemax on Twitter, I'm a pretty happy bunny right now!! :))

  25. OMG! So happy for you! That is awesome!! (Sorry, I just soor your reply now)
