Banshee - All the Wisdom I Got Left - Advance Preview + Dialogue Teasers

Last week’s episode had a gang of stoners staging their version of Fight Club in Charlie’s old pool after the opening credits. This time round we get the real deal as Hood and Brock venture to Louisiana’s murky Underground club in search of Chayton. As you might expect, its combatants are a tad more ruthless than a bunch of hormonal wannabes back in Banshee and we are treated to three bloodthirsty fights as the baying crowd cheer on.

The crew have taken full advantage of the New Orleans setting for the sections of the episode set out there; the hunt takes in the Mississippi, one of the cemeteries, the French Quarter and the swamps. But the best action, for me anyway, takes place in the rather claustrophobic setting of a hotel room, when Hood and Chayton have their much touted knife fight. It’s a two minutes adrenaline rush of blade slashing, body slamming and glass smashing before the main chase starts across the French Quarter between the two adversaries.

Poor old Brock gets left out of much of the conflict, which is possibly a good thing in some ways since he had issues after the way Hondo was dealt with at the start of the season. But it’s very important that he’s there all the same. As ever, he is the voice of reason making things clear to Hood when he needs it the most.

Rebecca’s plans to deal with Hector backfires spectacularly this week, in a way that should have been foreseeable to anyone with half an ounce of common sense. As we saw in the last episode, Burton is already suspicious of her behaviour, and we’ll see that spark of distrust continue to grow as he keeps a close eye on the business. She’s a crafty business woman though, and although her first plan to keep her uncle’s right-hand man at bay goes down like a lead balloon, she soon finds a different way to keep him in check for now.

With a cool six million sitting around gathering dust, Sugar feels that he can finally pay back an old boxing debt from his past. Only problem is that being the newest member of the group, he doesn’t realise that you don’t going dipping in the honey pot without telling any of the others about it first. This side plot gives him some lovely character development however, as we get to learn a bit more about his past.

Frankie Faison and Hoon Lee have played off each other wonderfully this season with the bickering and disagreements, yet now we also get to see a deeper side to their relationship. Scenes like this prove that you don’t always need spraying bullets and swinging fists in order to have amazing moments in this show. Two incredible actors sharing a drink while one bears their soul to the other can be just as special, and I adore that time was made to include this moving back story for one of my favourite characters on the show in amongst the backdrop of all the mayhem in the rest of the episode.

Talking of the heist money, Colonel Stowe is raging about the theft, as you might expect. He and his technical guy, Leo (Dennis Flanagan), start to piece together how the whole event was carried out. If you have read next month’s Press Releases then you will know that they have a pretty good idea who to concentrate on first. It looks like some dark days are ahead for the group before this season is done.

All the Wisdom I Got Left airs Friday February 27 at 10:00 ET/PT on Cinemax, below are some teasers to see you through until then. If you want to have a guess at who said what leave a comment below and I will fill in any correct ones by Friday. Don’t forget to come back and vote in our poll after the episode and let us know what you thought.

“No, I’ll be handling this myself, but maybe you could help?” Stowe to ?

“It seems we’re showing more profit than sales” Burton to Kai

“Kai Proctor has been having his way with us, all of us, for way too long”

“It’s not like I’m running off to Atlantic City, I’m not an idiot” Sugar to Job

“Sometimes the law can’t give justice” Hood to Brock

“In this corner, from God knows where. Weighing in at...who gives a fuck? Our undefeated champion The Slayer!” Underground MC

“You can’t kill me cop, you’re just a man. No man can kill me” Chayton to Hood

“Rise up and be ye a faithful member of the church”

“It can be our secret, and in the end he’ll thank us for it” Rebecca to Burton

“Well, if it ain’t for money and it ain’t for glory there’s only one thing left. Who was she?” Job to Sugar

  1. It's another great episode this week, this season just gets better and better imo :)

  2. Thanks Sandi - hope we will see the end of Chayton in this episode and hope it's gonna be brutal. More of Hood/Siobhan hallucination? And will we see again Aimee? I'm sure she will want to know how Hood hunting ended.

“No, I’ll be handling this myself, but maybe you could help?” - Hood to Brock? or version 2: Carrie and Gordon

“It seems we’re showing more profit than sales” - Hector? or Rebecca?

“Kai Proctor has been having his way with us, all of us, for way too long” - Hector? or Gordon maybe?

“It’s not like I’m running off to Atlantic City, I’m not an idiot” - Sugar?

“Sometimes the law can’t give justice” - Hood?

“In this corner, from God knows where. Weighing in at...who gives a fuck? Our undefeated champion The Slayer!” - someone from Underground Fight Club

“You can’t kill me cop, you’re just a man. No man can kill me” - Chayton

“Rise up and be ye a faithful member of the church” - no idea (Job?)

“It can be our secret, and in the end he’ll thank us for it” - Rebecca maybe?

“Well, if it ain’t for money and it ain’t for glory there’s only one thing left. Who was she?” - Job to Sugar?

  3. Isn't filming going to be moved to Pittsburgh next season...?

  4. As with other tv series, this one's new season has yet to air in South Africa, but reading all these great previews just makes me more excited! Thanks.

  5. You're welcome VQ :) There's a little bit of Siobhan in this, but not in the haunting way she was last week. Hood is far more focused now the hunt is on for real, and that is reflected in his state of mind, imo. No Aimee though I am afraid, we only see Brock & Hood in NOLA, not them going or their return.

You have six correct, nice one :)

  6. We do see a flashback to his Origins story in the episode, I think there's possibly some small lingering doubts there locked away perhaps that he needs too work through.

  7. Hey there Grethe, I hope you don't have to wait as long for this as you did the Musketeers! lol. It's an amazing season, the show just seems to get better and better :)

  8. I think we're getting it sometime in March... Can't wait!

  9. Oh nice, not too long to go then. I think you will enjoy it :)

  10. I think this is the episode I've been waiting for. 3 weeks later and I'm still utterly devastated about Siobhan, so hopefully if Hood does in fact kill Chayton this episode it will be cathartic.

  11. Hah, that's also true. But I only do that with series I know will never ever be aired here, or maybe years later...only saw 1st season of Graceland this year... At least I know Banshee is on its way.

  13. It is so past time for Chayton to be dead. Hope Hood finally sends the psycho to a fiery resting place down below in true Hood fashion!

These quotes stumped me, but here are my best guesses:

    1. Rebecca
    2. Burton
    3. Gordon
    4. Sugar
    5. Hood
    6. Underground fight club MC
    7. Chayton
    8. Kai's father
    9. Rebecca
    10. Job

  14. After sneek peaks now I know for sure “It can be our secret, and in the end he’ll thank us for it” it's Rebecca and that scene is... well... I was waiting when that will happen. I wonder how Kai will react if he will find out.

  15. Nice, six right :) Yep, that last one is pure Job through and through, lol.

  16. You've got seven right, so you've not done badly at all :)
