ABC FAMILY ORDERS A FIFTH SEASON OF HIT ORIGINAL COMEDY SERIES "BABY DADDY"
Burbank, CA (February 27, 2015) – ABC Family today announced the network has green-lit a fifth season of its hit original comedy series “Baby Daddy.” The order came just as production has wrapped on the series’ fourth season. “Baby Daddy” is currently airing all-new episodes Wednesday nights at 8:30PM, and the Season 4 finale will air on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at 8:30PM ET/PT on ABC Family.
“Comedy is an important part of ABC Family's make-up,” said Karey Burke, Executive Vice President, Programming & Development. "We’re excited to see where Dan (Berendsen, Creator/Executive Producer) takes these lovable characters and look forward to more great comedy from the cast."
Returning with 1-year highs for its Winter 2015 Season 4 premiere across target demos, to date, “Baby Daddy” ranks as cable TV’s #1 series on Wednesdays at 8:30 p.m. in Adults 18-34, Women 18-34 and Females 12-34 and is the #1 original cable TV telecast in Women 18-49 (616,000/1.0 rating). The series was also recently nominated for a People’s Choice Award for Favorite Cable TV Comedy.
“Baby Daddy” follows five adults at various stages of growing up. Ben (Bilodeau) was living the bachelor life in New York City with his buddy Tucker (Mowry) and his brother, Danny (Theler), a professional hockey player, until his life was turned upside down when a baby girl was left on the doorstep by one of Ben’s one-night stands. Ben is now raising Baby Emma (Kayleigh Harris & Sura Harris) with help from Tucker, Danny, his mother, Bonnie (Peterman), and his childhood friend Riley, (Kane) who’s been in love with Ben forever. Now that Emma is older, everyone must cope with the many challenges of parenting a one-year-old who is walking and talking. Together the five of them give Emma a unique but loving family filled with a lot of laughter and plenty of craziness. The series stars Jean-Luc Bilodeau, Derek Theler, Tahj Mowry, with Melissa Peterman and Chelsea Kane. “Baby Daddy” is created and executive-produced by Dan Berendsen (“The Nine Lives of Chloe King,” “Sabrina, the Teenage Witch,” “Hannah Montana: The Movie”). The multi-camera comedy shoots in front of a live studio audience in Los Angeles.

Yes! I was worried after they cancelled Melissa and Joey.
ReplyDeleteAfter recent developments (Ben and Riley finally sinking and Riley admitting her feelings for danny), I'm actually okay with this. If it had gone the other way with Danny and Riley sinking like I was sure it would, I'd say let the show die.
ReplyDeleteI was just downloading the first season of this to try it out. I'm looking for new comedies but can't find any I like :P
ReplyDeleteThis is music to my ears. I'm still so mad about M&J. Hopefully we get to see Danny and Riley together.
ReplyDeleteI gotta catch up one day!
ReplyDeleteI guess I don't need to catch up on M&J then.
ReplyDeleteYESS!Great news!
ReplyDeleteI love this show and was afraid it would get the boot too after Melissa & Joey was cancelled!
It still will have 100+ episodes when it ends and it is a fun show.I recommend it.
ReplyDeleteI can't Belive this got renewed and better rated M& J got cancelled.Y& H ,CL never shoukdve been renewed either.Im suprised this got renewed with its bad ratings and abcfamily rebranding ,going single cam.
ReplyDeleteYea I watched S 1 and 2, Ill research later if it at least has an ok end, then ill catch up.
ReplyDeleteYou should since it's not ending until this summer.
ReplyDeleteI have started watching this on my DVR before I watch Melissa and Joey. I'm happy about the renewal.
ReplyDeleteNice! What with the Ben/Riley finally being put to rest (I hope) I think I'm quite excited about the show's prospects.
ReplyDeleteAlso this softens the Melissa & Joey cancellation blow!
I don't think there's any more to tell for Mel and Joe after finally getting hitched, apart from Mel going pregnant by series' end.
ReplyDeleteIt's not really cancelled but rather ended.
ReplyDeleteThat is so weird... I was already sure that I heard a while ago that it has been renewed, so I wasn't worried.I thought I read somewhere that it was renewed for the 5th and final season. I don't know, maybe I dreamt ;) But, good news!
ReplyDeleteI know but still...
