Thanks to arrowshieldfan for the heads up.
During his panel at Dallas Comic Con's Fan Days this weekend, Amell was asked about the issue and his answer indicated we're in for more modifications.
"The short answer is not only are there going to be suit changes, but I'm going to be changing suits," Amell joked when asked whether there would be "any suit changes" by the end of the third season.
You can see the video below, and this answer at the 16:00 mark.

still waiting for a new Merlyn suit, dude isn't really sporting an individual suit anymore -,-
ReplyDeleteThe humor Amell brings outside of Arrow REALLY makes me wish the writers would make Ollie more witty.
ReplyDeleteyou are saying Oliver will wear LoA costume?
ReplyDeleteperhaps season 4....when all the tragedy and danger pass
ReplyDeleteYup. I have a bad feeling about the coming episodes. Either Merlyn would backdtab Oliver he will join LoA for a short time or he would wear league costume to go save Malcolm.
ReplyDeleteMaybe. Maybe this whole arc of Ollie becoming "humbled" after his fight with Ra's will make him more lighter.
ReplyDeleteMaybe he steal meryln LoA and use it to infiltrate Nanda Parbat
ReplyDeleteSo Cisco is going to make the things he wanted to do to the suit i guess.
ReplyDeleteHe ditches the hood so the character regression is truly complete.
ReplyDeletedid anyone see this? http://www.thearrowverse.com/uploads/4/6/9/1/46910011/6420204_orig.png
ReplyDeleteYou asking because of Hannibal Bates aka Everyman aka Dark Arrow?
ReplyDeletewell Stephen Amell posted this photo so they film this scene so who know if it is everywhere man
ReplyDeletemaybe what he means by "I'm going to be changing suits" is that he's going to get QC back and wear that kind of a suit again?
ReplyDeletepure speculation, as usual I'm probably way off on this
They're not saying that. But if he did, it would more be the opposite. The hood represents Yao Fei, Shado and the pain Oliver went through in those five years. If he ever adopted his comic book hat, (which again they wouldn't do) it would be more representative of Oliver letting go of that pain and blame and becoming more Green Arrow-esque.
ReplyDeleteApparently Barrowman asked for one. I'm ambivalent. On the one hand it'd be cool. On the other, Merlyn isn't Oliver or Roy he isn't trying to be a superhero or villain that people recognize.
ReplyDeleteNO! NEVER! the hood represents Yao-Fei and Shado
ReplyDeleteIt's called sarcasm.
ReplyDeleteBut really, the hood represents what Yao Fei and Shado taught him about fighting and being a hero. Wearing the hood to honor what they taught him and sacrificed is the most human thing he does. The hood was the first step. Honoring Tommy was the second step. Reverting back to killing whatever the cost and getting into bed with Tommy's murderer to do so, negates the second step. Taking off the hood would negate the first.
Who's to say Ollie will end up killing Ra's when it comes down to it? Yah, training with Malcolm sounds like a pretty sinister idea, especially of all the positives Ollie has done ever since the S1 finale with trying to be more than just a vigilante, but in no way does training with Merlyn mean Ollie is going to kill again.
ReplyDeleteTeaming up with Merlyn is an insult to Tommy's memory, to his father's memory, to Sara's memory, to his mother's memory, to Thea, to his city. Ollie doesn't need to learn about greys. Heroes' worlds aren't morally ambiguous. They fight for right against evil. Greys are for the justice system. Vigilantes have to play in the black and white world, in situations where it is eminently clear that they are right--that is the only way to be outside the law. Ollie doesn't need to be humble, he needs to be smarter and stop playing by Ra's' rules.
ReplyDeleteHannibal Bates was on the List so there is a good chance they could use him.
ReplyDeleteOnly the other person is obviously a woman from the build.
ReplyDeleteHis suit was quite good, let's see how this one ends up.I hope it's some other color than green and more fitting than the previous one, that's for sure.LOL!
ReplyDeleteLet's hope you're right on that one lol
ReplyDeleteCan someone freeze me like in "Forever Young" and wake me up when it's May? So I can watch the whole season in one day! We haven't seen episode 13 yet and I want to watch episodes 17 and 18 NOW!!
ReplyDeleteI this a man or a woman? Is it Thea? Tatsu? Is it a copycat? A new villain? Is he dreaming?
ReplyDeleteWHO AM I?
Marc said they will introduce him on Flash.
ReplyDeleteWe suspected all season that he will join the league at one point. I hope not.
ReplyDeleteHe said it's more likely... He didn't say no. He could be just misleading. He also claimed one super-powered villain will make it's way into Starling.
ReplyDeleteI won't give away that for now...
Good point.
ReplyDeleteThat's what I'm hoping. Dude's 30 (and arguably partially living off of Malcolm, FFS), he needs a job.
ReplyDeleteHeroes do need to learn about the "greys" in the world, especially Oliver Queen.
ReplyDeleteI'm not saying teaming up with Merlyn is a GOOD thing, I have never insinuated that, but I am saying it would add more to Oliver's development to be more like his comic book counterpart.
Yeah I agree. I still think that the whole teaming up with Malcolm, AGAIN already, is this show just simply showing us that their fandom of John Barrowman and thus Malcolm Merlyn, rises above all ways of sensible thinking and realism.
ReplyDeleteThis show is just scratching off Robert, I mean, nobody cares about him anymore obviously, Thea doesn't at least, even though Robert was way more of a father to her than Malcolm will ever be. Malcolm was watching Thea, but apparently no one ever thought that: 'Hm, maybe the bastard was watching when Slade killed Moira, but he decided not to do anything about it, for his selfish gains.' But yeah, ONE time it seems like he's doing something for someone else, when he saved her, and instantly the show seems to want us to see Malcolm as the same kind of hero or whatever as Oliver, which is total bullshit.
We've already figured out that Malcolm DID NOT save Thea because he cares about her, or maybe in his sick way, sure, but it wasn't just because of that. He instantly saw a way to manipulate others into fighting Ra's, showing that he's the biggest coward that the world has ever seen, using the people we are supposed to believe that he actually sees as family? Turning his daughter into a killer, pretty much sealing Oliver's death at Ra's hands. And why? Because like I said, he's a coward, that could have just sacrificed himself, ACTUALLY realizing all the mistakes he's made, and just kept Thea and Oliver out ofit. But NO! And still, STILL, this show expects us to just be fine with it, jumping in the air and calling out Malcolm's name >.<
So I totally agree, it's so much so an insult to all those people, that the writers are basically spitting on them and laughing...
I mean, honestly, this season isn't about the whole "Idenity" BS anymore, it's been about Malcolm from the very first freaking episode. Even that amazing Thea arc they were talking about, doesn't really exist, because it's just still Malcolm's arc, where she's just his puppet still.
But I guess we'll see... if Malcolm survives this season, even if Thea finds out, it's probably going to be a season 4 where Malcolm is just simply part of the team, damn weirdness and giving the finger to your fans, as long as you can keep your crush on the cast, right?
He also got money from Moira's life insurance
ReplyDeleteWell, yeah, I mean, I don't know how much more this show can force the whole: 'Malcolm thinks he's Oliver's dear Daddy too." thing, but I still feel like this entire season, the only one that getrs what he wants, is Malcolm. Except for last ep, when one time he's being a sad sad guy and we instantly have to feel bad for the guy.
ReplyDeleteBut yeah, he does need a job, but I think actually getting rid of the worst influence in as well his life as that of his sister, is a lot more important.
But that's just me, we all know more and more by now that they are NEVER EVER going to get rid of Malcolm. After all, someone there just doesn't have a brain and obviously only thinks about: 'We need to redeem Malcolm! Fuck the fans!'
Everyman/Hanibal Bates could throw all kinds of interesting wrenches around.
ReplyDeleteIf they introduce with his full shapechanging powers and he asumes Olivers identity for awhile. Imagine the meltdown when they get Olicity together.....only IT'S NOT OLIVER!
*insert evil laugh*
WOW! Have you been taking lessons from Marc??? lol

WOW! Have you been taking lessons from Marc??? lol
ReplyDeleteIt's fairly brilliant, allows them to hook Oliver & Felicity up without actually doing so. Sorta like eating your cookie while still having it.
ReplyDeleteAnd the angst and pain when the truth is revealed....
Like they did with Lana and Bizarro on Smallville. But in Smallville Clark was trapped in the fortress, where will they hide Oliver? What if he's with the League during this time?
ReplyDeleteNow you got ME coming up with theories :\
you're a smallville fan like me?
ReplyDeleteThat must be from Smallville after I stopped watching then. But yeah, captured by the League works.
ReplyDeleteIt was in season 7. Maybe that's when he changes suits. Hmmmm
ReplyDeleteA huge fan.
ReplyDeleteI got all the seasons of smallville
ReplyDeletetrue, still it'll be rather confusing when fighting LoA members "Wich one is my ally again?"
ReplyDeleteTrue. My issue isn't necessarily how he supports himself (although I do think that living in a condo that's paid for by Malcolm is a terrible idea), he just needs something outside of his life as the Arrow that can fulfill him.
ReplyDeleteme too, awesome to have Smallville fans here
ReplyDeletethe thing with Merlyn is that he's Oliver's archenemy
ReplyDeleteI think he will steal a league costume to get into nanda parbat to save Merlyn. ugh.
ReplyDeleteThe anticipation is killing me!!
ReplyDeleteBarf!
ReplyDeleteyeah but you said you can't wait for 17 and 18, what's so big about those episodes?
ReplyDeleteEpisode 17 has Dyla's wedding, the SS and Oliver and Ray are gonna have some kind of confrontation regarding Felicity. Episode 18 is when Mama Smoak comes back and there's the photo Stephen shared of The Arrow fighting The Arrow.
ReplyDeleteoh right, i can't believe if forgot Dyla's wedding, shame on me LOL
ReplyDelete*shakes head in disappointment* lol
ReplyDeleteLol. Just trick them into killing an ally.
ReplyDeleteHe's not reverting into that. But good analysis. Killing Ra's does not revert him (since he isn't strictly non-killing he just tries not to- hell GA in the comics actually has had problems with killing). Even then Ra's never dies thanks to the pit. But yes the point of this arc, will be is it worth it losing a piece of yourself to beat Ra's, or can Oliver do it without it? He probably will not kill in the end (screw it I'm 99% certain he won't, as he'll reach some catharsis over Felicity's anger of him not honouring the women he loves, Barry's advice about inspiring people, Tommy's death, Merlyn probably screwing him over, and the fact that he himself says he doesn't think he can kill anymore) And eventually come out as Green Arrow (but keep the hood, since again that's not going anywhere).
ReplyDeleteWhich they are showing SO well this season... Showing what a monster he is every time, and then coming with some weird writing "surprise" again that puts him in some grey area where they want people to feel bad for him and see him as a good guy.
ReplyDelete
