Thanks to Ore and Lilah for the heads up.
TVLINE | I feel like we’re entering the “third act” of the season, following Sara’s murder and that investigation, and then Oliver “dying” at Ra’s al Ghul’s hand, to protect Thea.
The season is more demarcated in fourths, as opposed to the traditional three-act structure. Certainly Episodes 10, 11 and 12 were their own”mini-act,” with Team Arrow moving on in the wake of Oliver’s apparent death. Episode 13 kicks off the next piece of our story, and things get a really crazy from here on out. Episodes 13, 14 and 15 are probably the next “book” or movement in the story, 15 ends with a game-changing twist, and from 16 to 23 it’s just one crazy run up to the finish line. [Laughs] I’m really excited about where we’re going mainly because, as I tweeted out, when all is said and done with Season 3, stabbing Oliver through the chest and kicking him off a cliff will end up being the least crazy thing we do all year. I encourage people to watch the whole season and then confirm whether or not I’m telling the truth.
TVLINE | Is Oliver able to just jump back into things? The team has come into its own while he was away. Does that almost become a sticking point?
It’s very much a sticking point. One big piece of Episode 13 is Laurel and all the things that she’s been struggling with — Sara’s death, lying to Quentin, Oliver’s disapproval of her being Black Canary. Meanwhile, you’ve got Oliver who has returned to Starling City and Team Arrow to discover that they have really moved on without him. Left BehindSo, things are not going to be as simple as, “OK, guys I’m back! Everyone start listening to me again.” He’s going to struggle with a brand-new team dynamic, one that is a lot more democratic than he is used to.

Any guesses on the major twist in episode 15?
ReplyDeleteI expecting Oliver to suffer from PTSD.......he has to
ReplyDeleteMerlyn and Ra's been working together and orchestrate Sara death and other events in Starling (episode 2 and hiring of Komodo)
ReplyDeleteNyssa killed Ra's in anger
Oliver joins the LOA
Merlyn take over as head of LOA causing civil war
Ooh I like this. Way better than Malcolm turning into a good guy.
ReplyDeleteprobably dividing the LoA into two sides. The Merlyn side and Nyssa side (wich Ollie joins) could see that happen.
ReplyDeletePossible, but nobody can kill Ra's in this show... No Oliver, no Malcolm, no Nyssa.
ReplyDeleteIt's possible that Ra's get exiled because his followers might stop believing in him after a kid he supposedly killed comes back alive so Merlyn takes over, but dying? Na, i don't think so.
Remember when we talked why the show was so procedural at first and thought it was to burn episodes so they could make a huge serialized run in the end? Guess we were right xD
ReplyDeleteThe League will come full psycho on Ollie and co.
Yep, it's totally going in that direction. We are damn prophets dude :P
ReplyDeleteStill crossing fingers for season 4 to be split into two 11 episode long arcs. That way we get two cohesive storylines :D
- Merlyn uses Oliver's resurrection as an emblem to make peopleof the LoA lost faith in Ra's.
ReplyDelete- Ra's will pardon Oliver and to train him(he will want him as his heir). Merlyn will use this to turn the League against Ra's and exile him and Nyssa.
- Malcolm will become the new head and use The League to finish what he started on Season 1.
- Oliver, Maseo and Team Arrow will side with Ra's and Nyssa to take down Malcolm.
- Malcolm will finally be defeated and put in Lian Yu with Deathstroke and Cap. Boomerang, while Ra's returns to be the leader of the LoA. Because of that, he will pardon Thea.
- Seeing they're in good terms, Laurel will go with Nyssa over the hiatus to train with The League.
I honestly don't see a more democratic Team Arrow working out well in the long run. I see nothing but infighting and factions forming. At the end of the day, someone still has to call the shots and make the hard choices for better or worse.
ReplyDeleteI think he is talking about Oliver and he being all "Digg, you're not in the field anymore because i say so" crap. Now Digg will be "Woah, hold on a sec, buddy! i don't think so"...
ReplyDeleteI wonder...could the big twist be Oliver joining the League? Not that I particularly WANT that to be the case, but Stephen did say that he'll be getting a brand new suit in the second half of the season.
ReplyDeleteWell that would certainly undercut all the "no more killing" stuff.
ReplyDeleteThe twist is probably The Atom, thats the episode where he wears the suit for the first time
ReplyDeleteI'll take Arrow kills Ra's and then takes over as the head of the LoA.
ReplyDeletePost-traumatic 'shipper disorder? Yeah, I suffer from a little bit of that myself.
ReplyDeleteTrue, but just theorizing over here. I could be way off. But possibly as a trade for Ra's leaving Thea alone? I could see Oliver making that move in that situation. Of course, I'd rather the new suit come into play because of something like the original being marke beyond repair. They're really pushin the suspension of disbelief with it lasting this long.
ReplyDeleteI suppose that would fall in line with Oliver compromising his principles for family, which Felicity pointed out in her own shrill way last week.
ReplyDeleteIt won't make me stop watching because I'm excited to see where the rest of the season goes (except for Ray), but I honest hope last week wasn't the end of Olicity for good. And no, my dislike of Ray has nothing to do with Olicity. He just really really annoys me. LOL
ReplyDeleteAnybody saw this ?! Karl Yune posted it today on his twitter account and wrote "Watch out World ! Here she comes !"
ReplyDeleteAnd that person should be the one most trained and preapred to those choices and aside from Oliver and maybe Digg, no one on the team can do that.
ReplyDeleteLOL nice one !
ReplyDeleteI'm all for Oliver being more open to suggestions, soliciting ideas from the group, and even letting someone else take lead from time to time if a mission falls under someone else's particular expertise but it all has to come down to one person making the call and it's "Team Arrow" for a reason. Bringing everything to a vote would just be a disaster.
ReplyDelete"Now, even though that is his goal, I can’t imagine that the TV show Arrow can kill the Ra’s al Ghul character. I suspect larger forces at DC Comics wouldn’t want that to happen."
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry, but this is a VERY dumb comment to make. Killing off any character on Arrow will not impact DC as a whole in any way. Besides, Ra's al Ghul is a villain and sometimes villains WILL bite the bullet in a CBTV show. Also, no one got in a fit even when Ra's died in Batman Begins.
What I HOPE is that Ra's al Ghul ends up dying, only to be placed in the Lazarus Pit and be resurrected. Not much of a "twist", but it would be cool just to tease the viewer that the big bad died before the season finale, only to be resurrected by the LP, which we do want to see in use and I think, in Arrow's universe, that the LP only work's with Ra's al Ghul's bloodline too, meaning it'll work for Nyssa as well if that would ever need to happen down the line.
ReplyDeleteIf he hasn't from his time in Lian Yu to Hong Kong to possibly Russia, I don't see why he would have it now just because he almost died.
ReplyDeletefinally a diagnosis fitting me!
ReplyDeleteTo this day, whenever someone uses the acronym 'OTP' I break out in a cold sweat and start to tremble. PTSD is a terrible disorder.
ReplyDeleteWhenever I see two people on screen together that could potentially have sex I fall unconcious and suffer from memory loss for 2 hours...
ReplyDeleteWill Lance ever be told?
ReplyDeleteAnd the flashbacks are a bitch... nothing but disturbing tumblr feeds and Twitter handles with shipper names and '4eva' added at the end.
ReplyDeleteIt would be interesting to see Masao and Felicity in a scene together. Wonder if will happen. After reading the interview, I think the writers need to decide where they are going with the Olicity romance. If the writers are going to slowly bring these two together ... fine. If they are going to take a romance between these two off the table, that's fine too. If the later is the case, I would like to see a clean break with no lingering looks, no unspoken words, and no hard feelings. I want Oliver and Felicity to be professional in their partnership and supportive of their friendship.
ReplyDeleteAt this point Quentin has more than enough information to figure it out on his own and, if he's half of the decent detective he seemed to be, it won't take him long to put it together.
ReplyDeleteI would hope so because it's cruel to keep him out of it regardless of health issues.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't agree more with you. And the writers need to do something about Felicity's story and evolution : everyone else in the show has evolved, and Felicity is still behind. There is the mystery about her father's origins, when they are going to show that ?! :(
ReplyDeleteI agree. It's obvious that Laurel cares a great deal about her dad and she made her decision of of concern for his well-being but the decision is still a selfish one as well because part of the reason she's keeping quiet is the fear of losing him. Fear or not, Quentin has a right to know about Sara.
ReplyDeleteFelicity is a bit behind in terms of character growth. She certainly deserves to be more than Oliver's potential love interest.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you once again. A lot of people (me included) thought that she was the futur "Oracle" but no...
ReplyDeleteA few days ago, I was on the net looking at the DC Characters Database when I fell on this : http://dc.wikia.com/wiki/Stephanie_Brown_%28New_Earth%29 I don't know why, but I thought of Felicity when I read that. Marc Guggenheim said that the origins of her father will be surprising, maybe it's because of that. I know it's a long shot lol but hey we don't it can happen especially since John Diggle and Felicity Smoak won't be in the comics anymore and that "Spoiler" just reappeared recently in "The New 52"

ReplyDeleteI'm probably way behind the curve here, but I didn't even know how Felicity fit into the comic world. Kind of interesting considering what is happening on The Flash now. http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Felicity_Smoak
ReplyDeleteYou inspired me to look at something else here ...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Green_Arrow_supporting_characters
It would be a trip if Felicity became Queen Arrow, even if it was for a short period of time. Now that would be some entertaining character development.
Sigh.
ReplyDeleteyes please. i am an olicity fan, but the longer your drag out a relationship and "Tension" the less interesting the relationship becomes, while i would be ecstatic for them to get together in a relationship, i would also be okay with them not ever being in a relationship because its becoming annoying how they dangle the potential romance in front of you like a hundred dollar bill on a fish hook, only to reel it in right before you grab it. this trope is becoming very annoying. either take it away forever, or just give it to me. make a choice damnit.
ReplyDeletePoor Quentin.. I hope he figures it out himself
ReplyDeleteMy guess is Laurel joining the League. Maybe far fetched but if she finds out about Merlyn it could happen.
ReplyDeleteDoes the League give people holiday to go attend a wedding? Because Oliver (along with Felicity, Roy, Laurel and Thea) are all at Diggle and Lyla's wedding in 3X17.
ReplyDeleteSounds like they really ditched the Oliver/Felicity romance, too bad. I thought they just wanted to cool it off after the mid-season finale and come back to it later. Hopefully that doesn't bring Laurel back in the picture, she's so annoying.
ReplyDeleteI don't think they ditched it. I think that they will come back to that in Season 4. Right now Oliver is going to be too much busy for that. In the meantime, I hope that we will learn more about Felicity's past or
ReplyDeletelet's hope you're right, these two are cute together
